Great meal, great service from all staff including busboy and server and hostess. The environment is quite nice and is not loud so you can hear the others in your party. The food is really good here though pricy. Was here for a birthday dinner. My mom and I shared two dishes, the Bronzini and the duck and scallop salad. We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer for the table. My relatives got the crab soup and a pizza with spinach and goat cheese for their meal. It looked good and filling. We all had dessert. I had the worst meal ever on Friday June 19 Arrived for what we thought would be a good dinner of liver, our go to restaurant for this favorite of mine and my husband. Both ordered medium, my liver nice thick slices were rare; second time same rare, unacceptable and disappointed; ordered blackened scallops, they were cold, not blackened, burned and unappetizing, brought it home to take picture for this comment, definitely not to consume. Neither choice was on our check, however I was upset, disappointed and left frustrated over the quality of meal and chefs ability to prepare edible meals at the price of the meals. I am not sure if we will return. My meal was soup, bread, wine. Service was good however, we came for the liver. This was important, pre Father's dayI have not forgotten it. There are fewer quality restaurants in the Pikesville, Owings Mills area compared to 40-50 years ago. What happened to this place, one other time they were out of liver. Enough said. read more

I went to Linwoods as I have many times over the past decade. Let me lead with the service was and has always been top tier. There was a New York Strip special that I opted for and the first couple of bites were amazing but as I got into the steak the meat tasted as if it was frozen at some point. I spit out two pieces onto my plate because I couldn't eat it and made my server aware. She apologized profusely and stated their meat is never frozen and that the restaurant doesn't even have a freezer. When the manager came by I mentioned it to her and she too apologized. The steak was not up to Linwood's standard at all and that was highly disappointing to me because I have never gotten less than an excellent meal from that establishment. Honestly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The restaurant is beautiful with a view to the grill and dim lighting. This menu has a great mix of seafood, vegetable, and classic favorites with an inventive twist. I came with my husband for our anniversary and everything was a fantastic. This place was truly amazing. We went to celebrate my mother's birthday and from the moment we walked in, everything was great. The hosts at the front were super nice and took us to our table right away. The chef even came out to wish my mother a happy birthday and make sure everything was to our liking, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff was wonderful. Our waitress, along with everyone who brought out food, was so nice and professional. We were a party of 5 and had a 9 year old with us. Our waitress was very accommodating and even went above and beyond to make a special sweet tea for the child. The food was AMAZING. We ordered steak, sea bass, scallops, and salmon and everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was soooo good that my dad finally understood why he should order a medium rare steak. It was cooked PERFECT. The drinks were also incredible. GET THE ESPRESSO MARTINI. It will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. It was PERFECTLY BALANCED, SUPER SMOOTH, and just DELICIOUS. Honestly, the BEST ESPRESSO MARTINI I have ever had in my entire life. My mom, dad, and sister all agreed it was amazing. We are already planning to come back JUST for that drink. Halfway through dinner we went to the restroom and saw more of the restaurant. The whole place was very clean, and even though it was busy and every table was full, it never felt too loud or rushed. The staff looked sharp, were very attentive, and the whole place ran like a well oiled machine. The restroom was spotless, modern, and fresh with no smell and no tissue on the floor. I also LOVED the open kitchen concept. They have a normal bar, but on the other side there is a bar that faces right into the kitchen. Ahme was my server and he was a perfect blend of attentive, funny, polite, and everything you'd like in a server. I ordered scampi and he gave me a spoon "in case i wanted to eat like the Italians". I had dinner at Linwoods in Owings Mills yesterday to celebrate my sister's birthday. The service was amazing and food was really good. The only issue that arised during this dinner was the fact that I had a piece of glass in my mouth after biting down on a from my old fashion. This was very uncomfortable and could had really caused me harm if I swallowed it. I made the server aware of the incident and she got the manager. I was really stunned about the sharp piece of glass that almost harmed me I couldn't think right. All the manager said was he will take an appetizer and my drink off the bill. He handed me a new drink but I was shocked from the thought of that piece of glass in my mouth I was afraid to eat or drink anything else. This is definitely a fine establishment but for that mistake made by your staff the meal should have been on the house. I not telling you to not eat there but please be careful. There were three of us for dinner this Thursday night. As always, the food was outstanding and as always, the cocktail menu offerings were disappointing. The gazpacho with crab meat and the encrusted tuna were excellent. I tried something new and was not disappointed; scallops with duck salad and barbecue sauce were terrific. Service was attentive. Two of us got the steak and it was delicious. We were there for a birthday dinner and were so disappointed with the food. Our appetizers and 2 of our 4 main courses were like nice airport food. The octopus appetizer was nicely grilled, then piled on olive tapenade and sweet pepper hummus. In trying to make it fancy, the flavor of the octopus was lost. The $18 Caesar salad was fine but kind of small and not special. The shaved Brussels sprout Caesar wasn't a salad. It was a pile of heavy, soggy, oily fried Brussels sprouts. The crab cake was good, but the fries were limp. The fries were chosen instead of the honey old bay chips. Those and the coleslaw were very bland for $41. The rainbow trout with crab imperial was saucy. The crab imperial was so saucy, from the mayonnaise I guess, that it overwhelmed the flavor of both the fish and the crab. Desserts and coffee were good. Service- The restaurant was busy, so we knew our waitress had a lot going on. However, all the servers and help would appear and disappear in a flash, making it hard to get someone's attention. For that much money, I'd rather have the flavors of their good ingredients highlighted, instead of fancy-looking food at the flavors' expense. read more

The food was delish, but I didn't care too much for the duck. (Even though it was something different to try with scallop) and the salad. The glaze was delish, our waiters were very attentive to detail, patient because we were seated right beside two older couples that were frequent flyers to the restaurant, but were super loud! Obnoxiously loud, and complained about how the veal wasn't cooked all the way, but still ate the rest of her plate?!... It's a restaurant where you should get dressed for the ambiance, and it's a nice little catty corner area that's hidden away but super popular and worth going to. The Chef personally came out and greeted us which I thought was nice. One year ago, the Linwoods team (shout out to Sherri Levin!) played an instrumental role in creating our dream wedding. For our one year anniversary, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to dine with the team in house! Greeted by the front of the house and immediately by our server with the same warmth and attentive hospitality, we knew we were in for a special evening. The staff immediately brought out complimentary celebratory Prosecco for us to toast the occasion, while our server thoughtfully guided us through our indecision over the delicious fall menu. We started off with the goat cheese ravioli and pepperoni pizza. My meat-eating counterpart gave the pizza two thumbs up for its delicately thin crust and perfect cheese to pepperoni ratio. Let's talk ravioli. Imagine perfectly al dente pockets filled with bright lemon-forward goat cheese, lightly coated in rich brown butter, surrounded by expertly cooked asparagus, crispy shallots and shaved Parmesan. You could say I didn't hesitate in cleaning that plate! For our mains, we went with the crab cake and za'atar eggplant. Also standouts! The crab cake was generous in portion, paired with addicting thin, crispy, fresh old bay potato chips. The za'atar eggplant was a walk down memory lane, as a version was featured at our wedding. Just as unique and flavorful as I remembered! A true vegetarian dream dish. To top the night off, the team delivered a complimentary s'mores dessert on the house. I honestly cannot say the last time I received this kind of service anywhere. Next, the food... most of our table ordered the main seared tuna and it was DELICIOUS!! It was paired with crispy rice cake and ginger. Great flavors and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got a pizza and despite it being thinnnn it was still crispy and chewy somehow while maintaining it's form. We also ordered a variety of apps and our favorite was the octopus. Perfectly cooked, not too chewy and paired so well with the hummus! The drink and wine selection was top notch as well! I got to try a variety of martinis and drinks throughout our dinner and it was well balanced. I almost forgot I was sitting in a restaurant in the middle of Owings Mills! I came here for a celebration dinner and it was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a while. The space feels elegant without being too over the top. It's definitely a spot where you can dress up a little, but it still feels relaxed and welcoming. Our server (I forget her name =() was friendly, gave great recommendations, and never made us feel rushed, even though the place was packed. I ordered the short rib tacos to start, which were ridiculously flavorful. For my main, I went with the scallop linguine and it was incredible. Their menu definitely focuses on sharing and family style dining, with a heavy selection of appetizers and their infamous gourmet pizza. During my visit, my table ordered apps such as the charged octopus, brussel caesar and the ricotta ravioli. All 3 were amazing, with the brussels being some of the best I have ever had due to the seasoning. The octopus was also fantastic, pairing perfectly with the red pepper hummus. For mains, we ordered several of their peppered tuna dish as well as a mushroom margarita pizza. The pizza, which is an odd thing to have on a fine dining restaurant menu, was superlative. Leaning towards the thin crispy side of the pizza spectrum, the texture was spot on and paired nicely with the toppings. The tuna dish was also excellent. The rare ahi pepper tuna worked nicely with the crispy rice cake and sesame soy sauce. One must not forget about the bar program at Linwoods, as every cocktail we ordered was expertly prepared and balanced. A favorite of the night was the Horse with No Name, which is a bourbon based cocktail that uses green tea simple syrup, lemonciello and mint to make a drink that sips like a mint julep meets Arnold Palmer. Make sure to leave room for dessert, as the banana cream raspberry pie is a fun take on the classic as well as the s'mores cake. We had another excellent dinner with excellent service at Linwood's. The lobster honey fingers was succulent and crispy and sweet and delicious. The roasted brussels sprouts salad was amazing. The shrimp and grits was delicious with creamy grits and small cubes of smoked ham. The star of the evening was the halibut with cauliflower on an amazing celery root purée. Yum! We also had a vegetarian pizza that was very nice. We had two desserts, a good s'more and a wonderful pecan tart with roasted pecans, vanilla ice cream, and caramel sauce.
