I was having a back spasm that medication only relieved 75% of. I was at work sitting in my chair and it was just too painful. So I scheduled a same day appointment at Rejuvenations online, and showed up 20 minutes early. They took me right away instead of making me wait (which was great!). The place looks very spartan or utilitarian. But the sheets and blanket felt good (and I'm very picky). I got Amy. I'm 38 and have gotten massages all over the world. Amy is a very young and inexperienced masseuse, but I think she did great. She basically used her elbows to beat the spasm out of my middle back. It was an intense massage; painful; relevant. I could only go about 45 minutes maybe before it was just too much. I asked for a foot massage for the remainder of the time (my poor feet!) and she did an ok job, but it was something she clearly wasn't well trained for. She sent me a thank you card in the mail a few days later with a funny joke about stopping by for something a bit more relaxing next time. Next time I need a massage, I'm going back, for sure, and would ask for Amy again. read more

I was looking for somewhere that did Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) massage and Rejuvenations came up on a search. I didn't want a relaxing massage or a "spa experience" - I needed serious help for relief from a bad back and sciatica. I called for an appointment and the receptionist recommended Donnie. He was THE GUY I was looking for! He worked out all my problem areas and ended the session with several PT stretches; even advising me on what I should do at home to make me feel better. Couple this with being an RN, on my feet a lot and moving people around, I have to see a MT periodically or I can't move (at least not without lots of pain). I went here recently because I was given a gift card for a 60-minute therapeutic massage. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a receptionist who was busy changing the water in a fish tank and the sounds of someone who I assume is the owner arguing with a masseuse. After a few minutes I go back to a room with my masseuse and proceed to have a very nice massage, but in total silence. The sound machine seemed to be on the fritz so I tried my best to relax and not focus too much on the sounds of breathing and slipping hands. I would have given this place 4 stars at this point. Not my ideal environment but the masseuse did a great job. When the masseuse left the room and I got myself together to leave, I saw that a decent amount of professional filming equipment was located behind a slightly ajar curtain in the room. Makes me really question what's going on there and left me super creeped out. Easy to say I won't be going back. UPDATE: The owner reached out to explain the video equipment. I don't live in the area, but I visit friends nearby pretty regularly. On my last visit I was dying for a massage... my back was in knots, but I had no reservations. I called around and this place was the only one in Reston that had an opening and would take me. Usually when I do these last-minute massages at random places I wind up disappointed, but not this time. This was one of the best therapeutic massages I've had in a while. You know it's good when all you have to do is tell the therapist the general area that's bothering you and they know just where to work out the kinks on their own. I happen to have a couple of trigger points that drive me nuts and my therapist Jenny really knew what she was doing. You can tell she knows musculature well. This place isn't a spa, it's where you go to get a great therapeutic massage. No frills, but it's a nice, clean place with private rooms. I am personally not into the relaxation-type massages-- I need pain relief and Jenny knew her stuff! Plus, she sent me a hand-written note hoping i enjoyed my treatment-- that was a really nice touch and what prompted me to write this. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey for a place with very little ambiance in a strip mall. Normally I wouldn't pay that much for an hour massage, but with the Yelp check-in discount it was worth it-- especially considering how high quality it was. read more

I have had average-to-good massages there, but the therapist turnover (I wonder why?) means you can't rely on the same person consistently. Be aware that the receptionist is a smoker and the smell lingers with her -- and seeps into the waiting room. Seems odd for a business that touts wellness not to walk their own talk. Full disclosure: I won't be going back. I missed my last appointment because I was stuck in traffic. I had planned for plenty of travel time, but I hit gridlock. When I called to explain what was happening, I was informed I'd still be charged for the missed appointment. I totally understand it means lost income for them, but after many on-time visits and very generous tips, I was hoping for a one-time forgiveness. Oh well. Only issue I have is the tip policy, every other massage place we have been to has let us leaving tips on credit cards. This massage was sooooo amazing. I came in for an hour long Prenatal Massage and it is the best thing that has happened to me in months! I've been having such terrible neck and back pain from having to sleep on my side, and you know -growing a human- and this massage relieved all of those problems. I had Becky as my therapist and it was very clear that she has excellent background and training, she was extremely knowledgeable about muscle groups and clearly knew what she was doing. They have this masterful conglomeration of pillows and foam that they put together to cradle your stomach so that you can lie face down for part of the massage. This was really the most amazing thing, as laying "flat" for the first time in months relieved so much pressure and really allowed her to work the muscle groups that were in so much pain. Not to mention this got rid of the headaches I was experiencing! Prior to coming here I went to a very common chain that also does prenatal massages and I came out hurting more than going in. So let me tell you now -don't waste your money on other places. You should just spend the extra little bit and come here first. You will absolutely love it and feel so much better. I now have appointments to come back once a month until my baby is here! As a bit of recommendation, book a massage for your husband at the same time, and then go out to brunch afterwords! I've had 1 life altering amazing massage here. A very good massage. I've also had 1 poor massage here. My rating is not going to reflect the company due to which therapist I used. My rating will be based on customer service skills, accountability, and at least trying to help customers. Without getting into details I've tried many times over months to get an answer about the type of massage given to me the first time. The reason is because that therapist is no longer there. The person answering phone calls and the person answering emails, simply recommend someone without asking questions about what I'm looking for (literally every conversation on the phone and email. It's simply get people in the door. I have multiple examples of this but will keep this short and inform people that the therapists are likely excellent. I was there last year and I had a wonderful experience overall. From the time I walked in, I was greeted by the front desk rep. I do not recall her name,but i believe was spanish or middle eastern descent. She was very welcoming and from there I thought my experience would be good. I had a massage by Jenn which was wonderful due to the fact she is good and well experience with sport massage. Most recently I stopped by for a massage and had a different experience from before. As like the other reviewer, the front desk rep seemed to be very annoyed and unwelcoming unlike the other front desk rep. I ask for appt with Jenn, in which the front desk rep told, she wasn't there and call for appt. I was appauled by the way she responded and how un-helping she was. I've been visiting Rejuvenations for the past 4 months in preparation for childbirth. This is my first pregnancy and I am planning on an unmedicated birth. Several birthing resources had suggested yoga and massage as key to helping keep you relaxed, comfortable and flexible so that the birth can go as smoothly as possible - so I decided to make massage a part of my overall preparation process. I originally chose Rejuvenations Massage because of their emphasis on prenatal massage and the fact that so many of their therapists are certified in prenatal massage. I have been very pleased with the professionalism of the therapists and the receptionists are kind and pleasant. I've tried several therapists, but mostly see Emily. She's fantastic. Very knowledgeable about pregnancy and keeps me aware of things to watch for as the pregnancy has progressed. Highly Recommended! Regarding some of the comments below about the lack of flexibility when running late - that has not been my experience. I highly recommend scheduling a massage with Barbara Potes! On the morning my husband and I were were leaving for our first Anniversary vacation I woke up with intense neck pain. We pushed our trip back a little and he scheduled a massage for me online at Rejuvenations. BARBARA WAS AMAZING! She used the right amount of pressure and focused on the right areas to relieve my neck pain. She suggested that I apply ice and heat in 15 minute intervals and drink plenty of water when I got home. The interior is average and certainly not a spa but the big issue I had is that is was so cold I had a hard time relaxing. The cold room made cold beds, cold lotion, cold hands, etc. I really enjoy heated beds and lotion at other spas and would rather pay higher prices for those features. He was great! Very attentive. He did a "pre" exam to figure out what was causing my pain (there's a first) and then he got right to it. Oh! Added benefit. I've not had much experience with massages, but left feeling very relaxed and revitalized. I did a 60 minute session with Stacy. She was very interested to learn any issues or areas I felt needed more work than others, and her questions brought out the type of 'normal' day I would have. While I had no idea where on me needed work (I honestly felt fine going in), it was obvious she found places on me that were in need (I could feel a big difference when finished). My wife also went and saw Lisa. She was very anxious about going, but her bad back was the main cause for us both. She was immediately put at ease and not only did her back feel much better, but also a nagging issue in her shoulder was worked out (not from being told, but by Lisa finding it herself through touch, and working out the problem). I love rejuvenations. They have great therapists for a great price. I have gone to many different places for massages (red door, massage envy and resort spas). After having my son I have had a lot of issues with back pain and have gotten the best results going to Rejuvenations. If you want results then I would recommend them. A note though that no one can fix chronic pain in one visit so you should never expect an overnight miracle after getting one massage. I visit Amy at least twice a month and she has helped me to be able to live my life without constant pain. I would highly recommend them. read more

I have been here several times and each time has been better than the last! I have gone to see Lisa every time and she is so great! Her pressure is perfect, because she really listens when you advise her as to how much pressure you need that day. I had gone a few times for 6 months in 2013, and couldn't afford/find time to come back again until a couple weeks ago. I thought for sure, since it had been so long, that Lisa would have forgotten about me, but she remembered me and even asked how soccer was going! The only downfall is that it's a bit pricey.
