The massage was GREAT! I had a car accident 4 months ago and after several sessions of physical therapy I am still left with some soreness in my neck and shoulder. The place is clean and calm . No loud noise . I got a good attentive foot massage which also included neck and shoulders . I was pleased and recommend this place . It does get busy so book in advance since a few times I walked in and was turned down .... this was my review a while back . However today I was not happy the guy who did my massage was sighing and lazy . My friend and I tried this place for the first time on Thurs Aug 1, 2013. We made reservations a week or more before and requested massage therapists (JJ & Steven) recommended by other yelp users. I received two phone calls the day before and the day of our appointment telling us that the guys we requested were not available or overbooked so we were asked if it were okay to change massage therapists. I said it would be okay as long as the newly assigned therapists were as good as JJ or Steven. Although we both tipped the massage therapists very well, I was very disappointed with my massage. My friend had David who was very good and listened to her needs. I had May who had pretty strong hands for a tiny woman but she would not listen when I would tell her that she had to ease back in the pressure. She kept telling me that my muscles were tight and that she needed to apply more pressure. She was also rushing the massage as she said she had another appointment before the end of her shift. This was definitely not a Relax Day experience for me. I have been taking Ibuprofen for four days. I was so sore that I was unable to sleep for the first two nights. This was probably the worst massage I have ever experienced. I waited till Saturday and decided to call the owner, Lisa to let her know of my disappointment. The receptionist said that Lisa was not there and that she did not know when Lisa would be back again. read more

I had the 30min Swedish massage by a lady named Jessie (don't know the exact spelling). So It's Sunday night and I get off work with aches and pains. I notice they close at 8 so I call them right away around 6pm hoping to get an appt so I'm not leftover for the last tired masseuse. She gave me the 730pm appt... although I was her last client if the night Jessie did a phenomenal job!!! I am naturally a critic at heart with anything and everything but Jessie left no room for that. I booked a message as an anniversary gift for my wife. They over charged me so I called the next day to discuss that and reconfirmed my wife's appointment. I received an email confirming the appointment and was told to click a link which I did. My wife just drove 30 min and we had to arrange schedules for this opening and when she arrived they said she didn't have an appointment. I play a lot of golf and 60% of the time I'm walking. The days that I walk the courses I enjoy a foot massage by either Sam or John. They know how to relieve me of the pain and tiredness my legs were feeling. I definitely recommend Relax Ave Day Spa to everyone who golf or not. I wanted to LoOoOoVe Relax Ave Day Spa because of so many awesome reviews. Alas, I only just liked it. Like others here, I had a Groupon to use ($29 for a 60-minute Swedish massage). It was very easy to make my appointment at a convenient time for me, and I was asked if I preferred a male or female massage therapist. I arrived about 10 minutes early and walked into a sparkling clean day spa with a lovely scent that was very inviting. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming and took my Groupon with no problem. I was once again asked if I preferred a male or female massage therapist (I had no preference). She said that "Stephen" would be with me in a few minutes. Stephen showed me to my massage room, which was very comfortably appointed. I should state that I've had dozens and dozens of massages over the years, so I generally know what to anticipate with a 60-minutes Swedish massage. I was surprised that I wasn't asked if I had any health issues or if there were any areas that I'd like especially worked on. About 5 minutes into the massage, Stephen did ask me if the pressure was OK (and it was). The massage itself was nice, but at times felt unfocused or awkward. I'm not sure if Stephen is new to massage therapy. My legs were massaged with the blanket on (usually it's partially off and the blanket is tucked up). The hands and forearms were VERY briefly massaged (about 30 seconds), and my feet were not massaged at all. As others have mentioned, there are some inconsiderate patrons talking loudly in the front room (the foot massage area), which can be heard in the massage therapy rooms. Not the fault of the day spa, but a big ol' sign asking people to whisper would probably help at least a bit. One other thing that the day spa should change: There was a ticking clock in my massage room that I was *keenly* aware of for sixty.whole.minutes. Kinda annoying. Overall, I was pleased. I was really impressed with this place as it is brand spankin' new, nice decor, clean full of zen and spacious!!! It's not just a hole in a wall or a drive thru massage place like others I have been too. For those of you who have not not ever experience an hour foot massage Go NOW. It consists of a foot soak about 30 min foot massage hitting all the pressure points and then the rest body massaging. Sam was on point with his pressure points, massaging everything from my ears to my pinky toe LOL. I live in Dublin and will for sure be back at that price. Customer Service was outstanding!! I feel 110% a new person. It's amazing how a lil' pampering can rejuvenate the soul and uplift the spirit plus put a big old smile on my face!! I feel refreshed and ready for the world again!! The place it's self doesn't look like much from the street but is beautiful and serene on the inside and looks completely new. I had an amazing deep tissue massage from Maria. Tried out Relax Ave today, I called ahead but found I did not have to make an appointment, drop ins are fine. I was greeted by a friendly person at the front and noticed the interior is very nice. The massage room and linens were very clean, which is critical for me. I had deep tissue with Steven and he did a wonderful job. It is rare I can find someone strong enough to get through my stiff muscles yet skilled enough that it does not hurt. price was moderate. read more

This place is just at the corner of Livermore downtown and able to provide the classy and relax environment due to the recent remodel. I have had 2 foot massages from Steven and he is really did a wonderful job. I hope the staff will continue to provide those excellent service and for sure I will be back for more. As I sit here getting my foot rub I decided to write a review to help pass the time. This is my 10th or so appt and over all my experiences have been great. I even fell asleep before which tells you how relaxing it can be. Today's experience is not up to par. Less rubbing the legs means more rubbing the legs to my therapist. Between digging his thumb and grinding his knuckles into my feet, I wonder what his credentials are. I will return however I recommend not using "Tony "unless you desire to be ignored and in pain! I really wish I could have gotten the Swedish at the time because looking over at him, I was so jealous! Prenatal was just not tough enough to get my sore muscles. We have tried out a lot of these Chinese reflexology places but this is our favorite place. The spa is clean, the ambiance is great and the price is reasonable. Lisa, the manager is very knowledgeable as well. Lisa gave me my first full body massage and when we were done, she told me that I need more foot massage than full body massage. She noticed that my feet is swollen and she advised me on the importance of getting more foot massage to increase my blood circulation in my legs. My medical history proves her advise to be right on! Keep in mind that foot massage is a lot cheaper than a full body massage, but Lisa gave me the advise basing it on what my body needed. I have been getting my foot massage and Steven and he is great. He knows which part of my foot needs more attention. He applies the right pressure and is constantly asking if everything is okay. He offers me water every time after my massage. I've had a full body massage from Steven as well but I'm much more relaxed with a female. I've been having my full body massage with Mary and she is good as well. She works on the necessary sore tight area's and applies the right pressure. She will apply more if you ask for more or less. My husband was totally impressed with the recent massage she received from Jennifer. Jennifer put her hands all over his back with blanket and sheet on and she immediately knew the spots where my husband knots were. She worked on those sore muscles and relieved the tension. No one can touch my husband's feet, but Jennifer slightly ran her fingers through the bottom of his foot and told him that "this is very bad". She stretched his foot, applied light pressure to the knot on his foot and he was able to bear it. He is now a believer and he even wants to try a foot massage from Jennifer. I brought a friend over and she left her gold chain in the room and she did not remember until a few days later. I called and they were holding it for us. This is our weekly date between my husband and myself. We treat ourselves and get pampered by the staff from Relax Ave Day Spa. We highly recommend Relax Ave Day Spa. read more

Took my wife for a surprise Valentine Day massage earlier today. She was absolutely thrilled with the over all experience. Starting from the welcome by the receptionist till they hand out a cold glass of water before exiting, everything was just really good! David and Lucy did a feet massage and then a full body massage in a private room. They were both extremely professional, very courteous, and sensitive through out. We used a Groupon but the experience was priceless. It was a little far ride for us but definitely worth the experience. We started about 5 mins late but still finished on time. Loved this place: clean, decent job, reasonably priced. However the new receptionist is annoying always asking for tips. I buy packages so pay $$$ cash upfront to enjoy several sessions. I tip every time but not at 20% every time. Last two visits she pestered me: Did you leave a tip, do you want to leave a tip now? I have no cash today, I can use credit card, OMG I had to say something is tip mandatory now? Of course I will leave a tip just dont want to be pressured about it!! So annoying!!! read more

I love this place; never had a bad massage. My only "complaint" is about other patrons, people who talk while getting a massage, or those in the "waiting" area on the phone. I wish people were more considerate; I also wish the front desk couldn't be heard - every time the person at the front answers a call or talks to a patron you can hear it. This is by far the most exquisite massage facility I have been to. Everything is clean, looks brand new and makes you feel relaxed instantly when you step in. The large curtains in the waiting area creates a more dim area for the multiple chairs for foot massages; the waiting area seats look straight out of a furniture catalog and is complimented by a large colorful vase. The walk to the bathroom, which was roomy and clean, was like entering a Vegas hotel. A waterfall and other calming decorations lined the walls. Massage rooms are on both sides of the hallway and all have high ceilings. A huge plus was the softest face rest ever along with a towel warmer in the room so time isn't wasted by the masseuse leaving the room to get your hot towel. The rooms are nice and dark and the music is perfectly low. I requested a deep tissue massage and I just didn't get that. It was a firm massage, but nothing that can rid me of the knots in my shoulder. When my masseuse came across a knot, she would move on to a different body part 10 seconds later. Too much focus was on my neck and tailbone. The massage was good, but maybe she was putting all her strength in and it still wasn't enough for a deep tissue. I will give this place another try only bc of how nice it is. read more

I was originally drawn to Relax Day Spa because of a Groupon since I was looking for a new place in the area. I had the 60 min foot and 60 min body massage with Lisa. She was amazing! Perfect amount of firmness and pressure. I was so pleased that I found a great local place that I purchased several gift cards for myself to return on a regular basis.
