Very easy to make a booking and lots of availability! I booked a deep tissue massage with only one day in advance and was accommodated easily. Space is large with a wide variety of massages offered. It can be a little cold in there, and I think my massage was a few minutes short of an hour, but those are my only complaints. They asked the type of pressure I liked during the booking (all the pressure) and definitely made note of it. As the receptionists confirmed in during the booking and upon check in. Friends. I know I asked for an intense deep tissue massage, and boy oh boy did I get it. They were not playing! My back was olbiterated!! At times did I think I was going to die? Yes! Great experience! I've gone three times for their combo massage, and I love that you get both reflexology in the big comfy chair and a Swedish massage. The prices seem very reasonable, and they usually have enough masseuses on staff that you can book a same-day appointment. Each person I've seen had their strengths: -The first masseuse was great at reflexology. She started with my scalp, then moved to my neck, shoulders, calves, and feet. The massage part was okay. -The second time, she focused mainly on my scalp, calves, and feet but gave a fantastic massage with some stretching. -The third time was with a male masseuse who was just okay overall. I think he might have been sick because I heard a loud sneeze in the back, and he was sniffling. He also forgot to put the warm eye mask on me during the reflexology portion, unlike the other two. I won't mention his name since it could have been a one-off situation. Overall, I highly recommend this place. I'm definitely planning to come back monthly--if not every other week! read more

I've been here a couple times since my last review. The first one, my massage was great. I was relaxed and then when I went to pay, I remembered my husband had given me an e-gift card earlier in the year that I had only used once and still had money on it. Well, the girl told me it was invalid. Even after I showed her on my phone the e-gift card and the receipt and everything, she couldn't honor it b/c the POS wouldn't accept it even after she entered the card #. It was SO embarassing b/c I was holding up the line while we tried to get this fixed. I eventually stepped aside to let the other customers check-in meanwhile I was texting w/my husband trying to get this figured out. My e-card had 12 digits and the girl was insistent that their gift cards are 16 digits. Apparently she wasn't trained well enough or told that their e-gift cards are different. She was able to see on her computer that I had used the gift card earlier in the year, but I was checked out by a different girl that's usually there. This girl was new to me. I was stressed out at this point and embarrassed b/c I was holding up the line, again, and I asked the girl multiple times to please call someone and ask for help. But she just stood there, pretending like it was gonna fix itself or something. She didn't want to contact anyone, like she didn't wanna bother anyone and she was trying to get me to pay w/my credit card instead. She wasn't even trying to find help. I felt like she wanted me to move outta the way to help the other people in line. I finally had to use my big-girl voice and demand that she ask somebody!!! FINALLY she sent a voice message to someone and was waiting for a response. I was there for a total of 25 minutes AFTER my massage trying to get this figured out w/her. So many people were there, I think for their Wednesday special, and everyone saw me struggling to pay. It was so embarrassing and humiliating. It was taking too long to get a response and eventually I just paid w/my credit card. She said she'd speak to her manager or something about this. She kept saying, i have your number, i have your number, someone will call you. When I got home I had a vm from her and she said that she got a response back and she figured out how to use my e-gift card. I called back and she said I was welcome to come back for another massage and use my e-gift card. At this point I'm upset b/c I was embarrassed w/the whole ordeal and it ruined my relaxing massage. I asked her what she could do for the inconvenience and she said "well, the gift card works...so you can come back". Like GIIIIRLLL... nooo. I told her that this wasn't okay. I get it's not entirely her fault, clearly they didn't train her properly in how to use the e-gift cards, but this wasn't right. I also told her I wanted to speak w/the manager and she said she would share my concern but she also sounded unsure and I got the feeling she wasn't going to do anything. Of course no one called me the next day or the day after. So I called back and spoke w/another girl who is the one who is usually there and who rang me up w/the gift card on a previous visit. I told her what happened and she said she could apply my gift card and refund me the difference. I told her that I liked the spa and I wanted to come back and use my gift card but the whole experience again, was embarrassing. She offered me $10 off my next service or a foot mask or hand mask on my next visit, and said if I wanted more for the inconvenience, she'd have to speak w/her manager. I accepted the hand mask. Which brings me to my most recent visit. The massage was relaxing w/Miana. The hand mask was lovely. It was just gloves she put on me that had moisturizing stuff inside. After a while she removed the gloves and massaged the rest of the stuff in which was relaxing. After the massage, I told her I'd be back b/c I was gonna go pay and get change. It took me maybe a few minutes to get the change and the girl told me that Miana was now w/her next client but that I could give HER the money and she'd ensure to pass it to Miana. This just felt soooo weird b/c in all my years going here, I've never been told that. I assumed she was in a private room but thinking of it now, I should've just gone back there in the open area to see if she was there, b/c then I would've just walked up to her. I gave the girl Miana's tip and left. I do hope that she gave it to Miana but I'll never know b/c seems there's a lot of turn around w/the ladies. I can never get the same lady when I go. I was able to get a same day appointment, which is what I always love about Relax Ave. I always visit the Dublin location, but now reside in Livermore and thought I would check them out. I had Judy as my massage therapist and she did not disappoint. She hurt me bad but in the best way possible. She worked on my spots that were stopping me from fully functioning daily. I used to love this place. Was a valued customer for years, even stocked up on prepaid massages during Covid to help keep them afloat. I wasn't able to go for awhile so when I returned to use some of these prepaid massages the girl at the desk told me thy expired. Gift cards can't expire in California which I told her but she insisted that they did expire. She agreed to "let me use it this one time". I have no idea how many I still have (or had since she claims they "expired") since I trusted their system for years and didn't have a card in hand. I booked the Mothers Day special for the mrs and me at this place. Been getting into massages lately as I gracefully age haha. Everything aches these days, and my jobby job allows us to spend up to three hours per week, on the clock, on self care, including mental and physical healing. Massages definitely count. Only been to the Dublin location, so we walked in, and while the outside looks small, the inside is pretty big and goes pretty far back. We got checked in and waited a few, while we were lead to the couple's room. The mrs was super excited and she couldn't wait to get under the covers. Before long, the ladies came in and said hello. I kinda wish it was standard practice to introduce by name, just so you know who to ask for. But no biggie, it all starts and whooaaaaaaa. The stress just melts away. Firm pressure throughout, I can't believe these petite girls can sustain this for an hour straight. I can't even massage the mrs for five minutes before I throw in the white towel and walk away haha. They use a good amount of oil, which works perfect on the techniques they use. They are super conservative/professional with their draping techniques, and on this hot day, I would personally prefer not to have the heavy blanket on (they have both a thinner regular sheet under a big fleece blanket). Winter is fine, but better to just have the thinner one during hotter periods. Mighty fine experience for sure, and we'll no doubt be back to this location. read more

Came here for their Wednesday Special for a 60min massage. The environment is dimly lit and waiting area comfortable, however the entire building was freezing cold, on an otherwise cool day (temp didn't get above 60). Getting fully undressed in a freezing cold room was not pleasant and I was hopeful that the massage table had a heated blanket on it to warm me up, but that was not the case. The room never warmed up, neither did I. Even using the bathroom after the massage, the bathroom was also freezing cold. Not sure if there was something wrong with their heat or they are trying to conserve energy, but it made for an unpleasant visit. The massage therapist applied decent pressure and checked in with me about it. The massage was decent, not great. The "head" scalp massage, however, was terrible. It essentially consisted of the application of unpleasant oil to my head/hair and then scratching my hair/scalp. Nothing relaxing about it. Actually really unpleasant, so much so that I was wriggling my head trying to get her away from me and hoped she would get the hint, but she didn't. Some people might like that type of touch, but I couldn't find it more irritating. Honestly pulling my hair would have been more pleasant. Given everything, I wouldn't return. read more

I have been coming here for years for chair massage and the staff always works their magic and gets the kinks out of my neck and shoulders. I also really appreciate the friendly professionalism from Ava and John at the front desk. They always greet me with a smile! There have been a few times when I have called to make an appointment in the morning but the only openings available were much later in the day. I have gone ahead and scheduled but then Ava called me back as earlier appointments had opened up and she got me in. Really appreciate those extra customer service steps! My bf took me here today for a couples massage for my birthday. He enjoyed imhis massage therapist. I did not. Her movement transitions were choppy and when I asked her for lighter pressure, she didn't change it up. My bf got an amazing head and scalp massage. My massage therapist used a towel over my head (btw, I'm clausterphobic and this kind of freaked me out) and made weird movements, almost like she was drying my hair. It was uncomfortable and not relaxing at all. I am not a fan of this place anymore. When my massage was over I had to get my bf to help me get ready to leave. I could barely move, because I was in so much pain. We literally drove all the way from Alameda for this place, and it was garbage. Needless to say, my bf still tipped her, even though she didn't deserve it. Oh yea, we also upgraded to have an essential oil added to our service for $5. In the past, the massage therapists have had me inhale the oil during my service. This chick literally was like just smearing it on me and doing her weird choppy movements. Not relaxing at all. For 90 mins this guy stuck his elbow in her continuously and never did her lower body. 90 mins is a long time to just go neck and back. we left and they called us to tell us that they were confused about the tips, 2 ppl got 20$, one got 15$ and the last person 0$ They added 10$ to my friend card. This is one place I used to have it as my favorite two years back. I would always buy a package which is a little bit cheaper. There are a couple of masseuses who are really good in what they do. But there are many who are not as good. I stopped going here two years back because number one their massages are never full one hour. It's always 5-10 minutes less. Number two they started giving hard time by asking 50% tip if I were to choose a person that does a good massage. In other words either you go there to get a lousy massage from a not good one and pay whatever you want as tip, or you get a massage from a good one with 50% tip. Also, after Covid the prices doubled. There are many better places that I have found since then that is why a two star rating. read more

Great each time I've gone I've done the neck massage and the easy chair massage and the Thai massage. After the massage which was 90 minutes I felt like could audition for cirq de solei. It is not your typical Massage. It's a much wider table with bars over the table and the masseuse walks on your back while she holds onto the bars and stretches you. We both enjoyed our massages and had no complaints about anything. I went for a 70 min acupressure after two days of crazy work hours. Having so much offers and sitting at a desk for two days, my neck, shoulders, back, hips were just killing me. When i walked in, i was surprised by how nice the inside looked. I filled out a form about where my problematic areas were, and the receptionist made sure to ask me more in details. Then, I was taken into the separate room past the foot massage area. Josh walked in and asked me about my problems once again, and oh boy he worked his magic so good. He mainly used elbows on me and oh trust me he is GOOD with that. I prefer strong pressure so it was perfect. And I have to admit, i fell asleep. Imagine how amazing Josh has to be for me to fall asleep with his elbows digging in my shoulder blades and spine etc. Also, I am not much of a talker when getting massaged especially when it's good; Josh checked up on how i was doing a couple times which i answered with "perfect". I'm sure if you need something specific like location or pressure change, he will gladly do it. I didn't have to say anything because he just knew where to focus on depending on the tightness of the problematic areas. I am planning to come find him every chance I get. Definitely recommend. Tip: 70 minute sessions are cheaper per minute than 90 min session by a tiny bit. I guess the longer the session is, the more tiring it is for the masseuse thus a bit more expensive per minute. The young lady who scheduled my appointment today was efficient and informative! She got me in the same day and even told me about their current promotions they offer (I got the Father's Day special, $60/hr for a Swedish Massage). Honestly, in this day and age where everyone is stressed out from what transpired over the years, it was so refreshing experiencing EXCELLENT customer service (even if it was over the phone). So honestly kudos to the young lady who does the scheduling. OH and they ask if you have a preference for masseurs which is nice touch if you do have preferences. Finding the spa was quite easy with some parking available on the street the spa was located on. I got checked in and (I will call back with the name of my masseuse, I forgot because my mind said "yo. Relax" it really said that) and for every new patient, you fill a questionnaire which includes a body chart for specific areas you may want targeted during your massage. The massage was fantastic. The spa plays relaxing music, the masseuse verified which areas were to be targeted (for me it was my shoulders and my ALL OVER MY back) and they also checked for your comfort with the pressure being applied when moving between sections. I remember when the massage was over, I was in shock because I believed there was no way 2 hours breezed just like that! But to my now pain-free (or less painful) body, The masseuse was right about the time and they actually went slightly over give or take by a couple of minutes. Great service, great pizza.
