I've been to every nail salon in the area and beyond. Relax Nails has been my go-to for 2 years and I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else. I get UV gel tips which is a very specific service, and there are TWO techs at Relax that do it perfectly - this makes scheduling very flexible for me, which I love. As far as quality, at other salons, I get breakage, pop-offs, and generally nails that are too thick & unnatural-looking. My nails from Relax look perfect and last at the very least 3 full weeks. The manicure itself is always done with great detail and I never have pop-offs or breakage afterwards. I get constant compliments, even when I'm in desperate need of a fill! Additionally, Relax has a generous points & rewards system and I've claimed many a free pedicure. The reason why this salon is busy is simply because they are the best around and are worth it. I would recommend making an appointment in advance!

It's a small nail salon so it can get very crowded, which could push how fast a nail artist has to work. I came to do chrome gel on my nails, the total was around $80 plus tip. By the end of the work I noticed some debris in the gel of my left thumb and two weeks later my nails were already peeling.

I had an alright overall experience at Relax Nails. The workers were very nice and I was quickly able to do a walk-in appointment. I needed a gel manicure and the price was pretty reasonable, at $32. Not the cheapest you'll find in the city, but not the most expensive either. Pros: 1. You can opt in for their rewards program and if you become a regular you rack up points toward free manicures and pedicures. 2. While my gel was drying under the UV, I got a free quick massage. 3. The workers were all incredibly kind, and they took great care of my nails when cutting and buffing. Cons: 1. The gel work on my nails was pretty messy. The edges were a little all over the place and I was continually having to tell the nail tech that she was missing spots on my thumbs and forefingers. 2. My nails had a very acrid taste and smell for a day after I got my manicure, and the smell wouldn't wash off. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back again but my experience was fine.

Such a great experience! I needed to remove my gel extensions but got turned away by other nail salons before coming here. They removed my extensions carefully without thinning my nail too much or causing damage. My nail technician and the owner were so friendly and gave me tips on how to take care of my nails!! No one said hello or assisted me when i walked in. Waited around and a lady finally spoke to me and took me to a chair for a pedicure. Water was very hot and when she asked how the temperature was i said "its a little too hot" and she touched it and did nothing. It was obvious how hot the water was when my feet were pulled out and were beat red. My nails were already short and she filed excessively where it quickly became painful. Paint job was mediocre. Pedicure wasn't satisfactory at all.. Barely any scrubbing. Would've been nice if they had bothered to ask me how I like my nails filed before they did them. When I showed my attendant the dead skin on my feet, she told me that they would do it next time and charge me for doing it. Hello, isn't that the point of the pedicure?! I have been going to this Nail Salon for over 2 Years. The Service is always 5 Star. It is a small space but they are always pleasant, efficient and they make space for every client possible, if they are busy and you come in to find out how long the wait is, they tell the truth, if it is 5 minutes or 15 minutes, you have the option to wait or to Leave. Relax Nails is a great place and it knows what it is. Relax Nails is not the shiniest nail salon where everything is super fancy. They give you a really good mani or pedi at a very inexpensive price. I think rather than most salons who are constantly trying to upgrade you on everything, they will give you what you want knowing that you are busy, your money is important, and this is a chance for you to treat yourself. read more

They were friendly and nice but my manicure was just fine. There are bubbles in the polish and she was a bit aggressive with my cuticles. The manicurist cut my one finger so bad it's still swollen and hurts 10 hours later. Probably won't return here. read more

Very nice but awful mani/pedi. They did not shape my nails, they did not clean the cuticle. No care was taken to remove my calluses. The are clearly in a rush to get you out but severely sacrifice quality. Will not come back and advise others from doing so. read more

I have lived in this neighborhood for years and Relax Nails is the best Nail Salon! Sarah gives the best manicures! I have very dry cuticles and she trims them perfectly so that I do not pick at them! There is always relaxing music playing softly in the background which enhances the relaxing experience! I asked for a landing strip-- when the shape was formed she looked at it and said, "off center but it's okay!" since it was my first time getting a brazillian I thought, maybe it's because I moved while she was pulling the strip. From the angle I had while laying down, I thought, maybe it isn't so bad. when I took a look in the full body mirror I was feeling shy and didnt feel comfortable examining as much as I should have. It obviously hurt and I just wanted to get dressed and go home. I told the front desk heaven had done great because she was very kind and made great recommendations for after care, and I didn't realize exactly HOW off center it was. when I got home I took a longer look and realized it was VERY off center. like, FAR right lane. I had told heaven I was leaving for the weekend the next day during my service on Thursday. I came back to utilize their free touch up within 5 days service to just get the rest of it off because it was unsalvageable. it would have been no big deal if they had taken even 5 minutes to fix it. Like it literally would have been ONE strip of wax. However, I was told they couldn't squeeze me in in until two hours later, not enough time for me to make my trip, even after I told them that Heaven herself had admitted the landing strip was off center. i am extremely disappointed, especially because I tipped 20 dollars on a service I ended up being so unhappy with. I will not be returning and advise anyone in a similar position to advocate for themselves more than I did!

I had a sub-par experience at this location. I wandered in off the street for a mani-pedi and walked out with feet that didn't look much different from when I walked in. The pedicure was FAST and there was hardly ANY pressure applied at all. They used no loofah or scrubber of any kind which really makes me wonder how they expect to remove dead skin from your feet. The buffer type pad the girl did use on my feet was literally wiped up and down my foot once or twice, that's how light the pressure was. I left with all the same calluses and loose skin on my feet, no major difference except that my toenails were painted. On my hands she did a much better job but then again hands are much less beat up than feet are so it's an easier job. The girl was also pushy about the tip which I find rather annoying when it's clear you've barely done your job. A tip is something that is given as a voluntary gift for good service something most people seem to have forgotten nowadays. Demanding it like it's your God given right is annoying and in poor taste for a business. read more

This is the only place I go to for manicure, pedicure, & tip set. All of the tools are brand new and thoroughly cleaned. The music is very relaxing and the ladies are very nice. You even get points that add up to free manicures and pedicures. I've been coming here for over two years. I'm still going to come here when I move out of manhattan. Sarah is awesome. read more
