I ask if there is anyone else available at the Oswego location on Monday (the day my appointment is scheduled). No response. On the day of my appointment, another text message shows up saying that no one else is available. Apparently they also only do facials in Naperville. I find all of this out on the DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT. How disappointing and unprofessional. A phone call when I booked the appointment a month ago would have the appropriate way to handle it, at the very least, a few days ago when I asked if someone else was available, but certainly not on the day of my appointment. That is unacceptable. There's no way I can get another appointment some place else today. Not to mention, I was the one who had to pick up the phone to call THEM to confirm that my appointment had, in fact, been cancelled. When I asked why I wasn't notified a month ago when I booked my appointment, all I got was a "yea, sorry". They said I could come to Naperville and made it seem like they were doing me some huge favor by allowing me to keep the same appointment time, as if I were inconveniencing them. I had been seeing business on my social feeds and was ridiculously excited to see they recently started offering Japanese style head spa services. They also do lash extensions and since they offer new customer discounts I decided to take advantage of both! It was super easy to book online and I could've booked them on the same day but decided to do them on two different days. The location is in a professional building on the first floor next to a strip mall it's a relatively large lot altogether but may have to go park out a little further depending on when you go. My lashes with Emisa turned out great, she truly listened to what I wanted and was able to offer suggestions as well as educate me on the process and what would work best with my eye shape. I knew it was definitely a pleasant experience because I dozed off multiple times...I'm happy to report I did not fall or roll of the treatment table! I love that there is a 3 day guarantee...so if anything goes crazy with the lashes, she will fix them for no additional cost. I did have 1 rogue last wanting to go in the exact opposite direction of all my other lashes and since I went the following day for the head spa treatment, she was able to fix it and make sure I didn't look crazy lol. They also have a membership pricing for fills so if you decide to continue with the upkeep, the membership would definitely be nice to be able to have your appointments ready to go every 10 days. I had my head spa service with Donna and it was absolutely AMAZING! We started the session with a look at my scalp under the scope and discovered I have oily hair and quite a bit of product buildup. Next I laid down in the treatment table to get my scalp intensive treatment which included multiple shampooing, head steaming, scalp mask, and massages of my head, neck, shoulders, arms , and hands! I found the treatment to be very relaxing and invigorating at the same time. The products all smell amazing with different aromotherapy profiles. A variety of implements were also used to brush and comb thru my hair. A lot left a cooling sensation on my scalp. When the ritual was complete we went to go look at my scalp again under the scope and it revealed a lot less funk and gunk! Then I was handed a list of teas they had available and I chose the organic ginger tea. I was happy Donna lightly blow dried my hair so I wouldn't be roaming around town potentially having frozen hair. I would definitely love to get a head spa treatment regularly.

I've always tried to be patient with the fact that she typically runs behind schedule, but my experience two weeks ago was beyond a reasonable delay. I arrived at 12:30 PM for a 12:40 PM appointment. After being placed in a room and told it would be "just a moment," I sat alone until 1:00 PM. When I finally stepped into the hall to check on the status, as I had other commitments to get to, I was told at 1:05 PM that it would be at least another 15-20 minutes. Expecting a client to wait 40+ minutes past their scheduled time without any proactive communication is disrespectful of their time. What is most disappointing is the double standard in their policies. SkinPerfected enforces a $100 cancellation fee if a client reschedules within 48 hours, yet there was no offer of a credit or even a simple apology for wasting nearly an hour of my day. My time is just as valuable as Shannon's. I waited two weeks before posting this, giving the office every benefit of the doubt that they would reach out via text or email to make it right. Instead, the only communication I received was an automated "robo-text" prompting me to schedule my next session. The silver lining is that this forced me to find a new provider who is not only more affordable but also respects my schedule and doesn't push products with a high-pressure sales pitch. After years of loyalty and multiple referrals, I expected much better.
