Total Con - Do not Use! I had them service my unit said the heater coil was broken and I needed a new system. $17000.00 bill. I used AI put what they gave me in that and it said Highly Suspicious. So another company came out. Said they had no picture no details they never even looked at the unit the seals were not even broken indicating someone looked. Said the unit was fine and charged $250 - my opinion is they say an old lady and thought let's steel her money. read more

Frustrating Experience: Pushy Sales, Price Hikes, and Sloppy Work If you're considering Reliable Home Services, I strongly recommend asking a lot of questions--and double-checking any work they perform before the 30 day warranty is up. I'm more than happy to share so others can make an informed decision. My issues started with Rob, the dispatcher. I had previously used the company for a full system refresh and even left a 5-star review, so I expected a similar experience. This time, I called about replacing a pump that had already been diagnosed, but I had delayed service due to financial timing. When I called back to schedule, Rob gave me a hard push for their $2,200 "Platinum" service, even though much of that work had already been done a year prior. When I questioned the need for it, his response was basically, "It's up to the customer to decide." The whole conversation felt more like a used car sales call than home repair. What really crossed the line, though, was when Rob said he would note in their system that I was being "argumentative"--and that everyone would see those notes. That was uncalled for, especially considering I was just asking questions about pricing and service relevance. Unfortunately, things got worse when the technician arrived. The first thing he said to me--before even assessing the job--was that the owners didn't want to do it. No explanation, just a strange and inappropriate comment that instantly made the whole situation feel tense and uncomfortable. Then came the pricing issue. I was originally quoted $650 in May 2025, but when the tech showed up in July, the quote had jumped to $800. When I questioned the $150 increase, I was first told it was due to rising parts costs. Then, the explanation changed: due to how AC units are manufactured, now the company recommends full replacements over repairs, even though only my pump was broken. It felt like an obvious upsell tactic. When I asked the technician to call the office to check if the original quote could still be honored, he flat-out refused. He told me I could "take it or leave it." No effort to make a simple phone call. No interest in advocating for the customer--just dismissiveness and attitude. Despite all of this, I agreed to move forward with the service because I needed the pump replaced. But due to the overall tone and behavior, I didn't trust the quality of the work. So I inspected the installation myself afterward--and I'm glad I did. The pump was missing a critical clamp, clearly shown in the product's instruction manual. Without it, the system will likely leak again. So i'll just go and buy the clamp and fix it myself. (See attached photos.) At the end of the day and to the technician's credit, he did apologize for how the interaction started, and the job ended on a more cordial note. But that doesn't erase the pushy sales tactics, the unprofessional tone, or the incomplete work. Reliable Home Services is not what it used to be. I won't be using them again--and if you do, proceed with caution. Ask questions, read the fine print, and check the work yourself within the 30 day warranty. read more

We used Reliability Home to install our HVAC system in 2017 and they've been great at doing regular tune-ups every six months since then. We've always been happy with the company and the technicians and have even referred a couple friends. But the last couple weeks are what prompted this review. Our heat went out the Sunday after Thanksgiving. They sent a technician, Robert, out that night and he was great. A couple parts had to be ordered so he left us with some space heaters. They got the part overnighted a two days later we had heat. Yay! It was a two-part job and Robert came out again tonight to finish it. As he was wrapping up, he just happened to look at the water heater and noticed signs of a carbon monoxide leak. He showed us the melted caps, did the lighter test, and explained everything to us. Because this is a major safety issue, he was able to schedule the repair first thing tomorrow morning. Here's the thing... if he had just come and completed only what he was scheduled to repair, we would have never known we were in danger. I'm so grateful that Robert went above and beyond and looked around before he left. Who knows? He might have saved our life. read more

I recently had 2 hose bibs replaced/repaired at my home. A technician came to give an estimate which I agreed to. The technician came the next day and did his repairs. All seemed well until I noticed a shut off valve that was leaking. Additionally noticed a "pinky" sized hole in the wall where the hose bib enters the house. After paying over $600 for the hose bib I was told I would have to pay close to $300 today to stop the leak. When I called the office in an attempt to have the invoice reduced I was made to feel like it was my fault for not accepting a higher priced alternative. No compromise was reached. read more

Worst company ever!!! I paid them to install all new ductwork in my trailer they told me they did and lied. I had a3 ton A/C unit installed when they removed the old one you can see were they lied and i had old ductwork. Plus they never installed my new boats in side my trailer were the vents are. Asked Reliability Home to visit and inspect our very old and non-functioning whole home humidifier. Reliability provided several options, ranging from $300 all the way to $1500. Some options involved repairing our existing humidifier and others involved installing various grades of new humidifiers. We were overwhelmed by having so many options to chose from. We just wanted a simple answer...was it even possible or worth it to attempt a repair? Or did it make more sense to install a new one? The tech refused to provide advice one way or another. We elected for a $600 option to repair our unit which included a warranty. That's what fit our budget and we trusted that this would work, since the professionals gave it as an option. After the work was done, the humidity level in our home never changed. We asked them to come back out and they said there was nothing they can do. Their only option was to pay them MORE money to install a new humidifier. This was completely unacceptable, as we never had the budget for a new humidifier (which was the reason we elected to repair). They refused a refund. A 3rd party HVAC installer inspected our unit and advised us that a repair should have never been attempted, as it was far too old and used an obsolete technology. Reliability knew that if they told me the truth and said my unit wasn't worth fixing, I might not spend any money with them. So they give me "options" just to ensure i spend at least SOME money with them. Reliability's practice of "providing options" is simply a money grab to extract whatever cash they can from a customer, depending on their budget and willingness to pay. They used their "options" to find our willingness to pay and exploited it, leaving us nothing to show for it. read more

I had a new boiler installed in dead of winter, it took several people over 2 days to install. I paid for maintenance plan as well. Their pricing is exorbitant unless you go with lowest tier, which I've shopped around and found to be about double their competitors. Also the lowest tier option doesn't consider root cause so you may be paying for this multiple times. read more

I had been a Reliability Home Services (RHS) Customer since 2018, starting at a previous home, then bringing them to my current home from 2018 to present, with the most recent "VIP Plan" visit on 4/8/24. I also referred RHS to my daughter and son-in-law who currently use their services. From 2018 to mid 2023, RHS performed satisfactorily insofar as semi-annual visits to inspect my overall system (electric heat pump). On the most recent service, the technician did not arrive with the furnace filters for my system and left me 'hanging' for about 50 minutes while he went out locally to purchase filters 'he thought' might fit, and coaxing me to purchase my own (they're included with the VIP service and never before been a problem). On departure, having shut down the system for inspection, he neglected to turn the system back on, which I discovered the next morning. In 2022, RHS installed a whole -home humidifier, which I have relied upon RHS to inspect as part of the overall VIP service. On 4/8/24, I had to insist to the technician he inspect it, which he did only obliquely. What we did find was that, now two years old, the water control valve solenoid on the humidifier stopped working. It is a $28.00 retail part. I asked about replacing it; the tech repined 'they don't replace parts, but would discuss options at then conclusion of the day's inspection. Upon departure, he showed me a range of system 'tune-up' packages from' $295, to $1001.00, none specifically referencing the solenoid valve, but tying its repair to purchase of unrelated services I don't need (I had a full system tune up in 2022, and the 4/8 inspection didn't surface I needed another). I called Rob M******, General Manager on 4/9 to discuss concerns. M****** talked over and condescended to me about having to pay their service staff a living wage, benefits, viscerally impugning my intelligence and so on; over a matter that could be handled on a time and materials basis.. He averred if I didn't like what they offered, and I felt I had the 'skill set,' I should go ahead and repair it myself! Tying a remedy of one small issue to a purchase requirement for a larger unneeded service with no other option is ethically questionable, I feel. The honest gesture would be to clearly state to the effect, "We can fix it, but for a $28.00 retail part, there'd be a deployment fee, labor and the cost of the part with mark-up, totaling (ex.) $280.00." This would give the customer the opportunity to accept or decline without the sense of exploitation. In my case I might have accepted our of convenience. M****** clearly could care less about customer service and ethics, let alone losing a loyal customer and favorable references. I will no longer do business with RHS and have advised others in my family to discontinue as well. In this context, RHS is also hijacking $137.50 (50% of price) from the half-used VIP plan I purchased saying, "We don't do refunds." Nothing in any of Plan invoicing or other company literature I've received on the Plan says pro-rated amounts are not refundable. I used one of two inspections with no other services under the plan. I should be eligible for a 50% refund. read more

Unfortunately it seems as though this company is a hit-or-miss when it comes to repairing your HVAC equipment. Around the end of April 2021, my air conditioning was not cooling as it would normally and I called Reliability Home because they fix my heat one time before and it went well. I even purchased their tune up warranty. Knowing I have a tune up pending I asked them to do the tune up and also see what was going on with my air as it wasn't getting cool. The time comes and the one tech did the "tune up" and also gave me the news that I had very little refrigerant and most likely there is a leak in my line. After a few minutes he gave me the good, better, best repair options. Good was just add refrigerant. Better was add refrigerant and seek and repair the leak with sealant. Best, I can not remember the details but none of the options were replaced bad line. So my choice was Better. I was informed that refrigerant doesn't leave and most likely you have a leak and the better option we will find the leak and seal it. GREAT!! I move forward with the Better option repair. 2 weeks shy of six months I noticed my air was not cooling again. I was concerned but I knew it was under warranty and it wasn't going to be a problem to get it fixed. When I called it was a Saturday and I explained the problem to the associate and she gave me some problems when I told her that my job should be under warranty. We kind of went back and forth with it being under or not being under warranty.  She finally said she'll have a manager to verify on Monday. Monday came and the manager called me and told me yes my service was in fact under warranty and she would have someone come out to check. I was relieved and happy she was dispatching someone very early in the morning. I knew that it had to be the same issue. Unfortunately the tech explained it was not only leaking refrigerant, it was a cascading effect that the leak cause the coils to freeze which shorted the circuit board and the blow motor. The technician explained those problems to me and I just thought that because unfortunately the repaired failed they would fix the leak and also fix the problems that the failed repaired caused. Nope, the tech told me I had to pay over $1,000 to fix the failed repair and stating that the leak had to have been more than a pinhole size hole which the sealant would not be able to fix. Im shock...I remember that day in April I was told that the tech that will fix my issue would search and find and repair my leak. All they did was added sealant and hope for the best. I paid over $600 for that wasted service. Now my quote is $1000 to replaced the now shorted circuit board and blower and over $3500 to replace the leaky line making a grand total of $4500. I cannot forget they will give me a warranty discount of $288. I'm very upset and feel that they wasted my time and money on a patch job that could not even make it past the "warranty". If I knew or was informed during the first "repair" that my line had more than a pinhole size leak I would not ask for a temporary repair.  Nobody informed me nor did their job with actually finding the leak and giving it a proper seal. I do not trust them to accurately repair my HVAC at all. I would not waste anymore of my money with this company.  Please stay clear of this company. I have fully warned you. read more

We called Reliability because our HVAC system was leaking condensation and we needed someone to take a look. The unit is only about 14 months old. We were told there would be a service call fee but it would be waived if Reliability did the work to fix. The technician from Reliability told us it was a serious problem and we would have to get a new unit. He quoted $3900. He knew the unit was only 14 months old. We declined and had someone else look at it. The parts were still under warranty and he fixed it for less than $200. Watch these guys very closely. read more

Reliability Home is a very professional and friendly company. I was trying to get my AC problem resolved with my Home Warranty company, and the people they were sending out were absolutely useless. I ended up finding Reliability Home on HomeAdvisor, and they came out twice to my place, on my request to diagnose the problem and give me a free estimate. When I asked them to talk to my Home Warranty company, they were very professional and worked with them, even though they never needed to do that. They went above and beyond their duty to help me out in that manner. Their technicians Daniel, Chris and Ralph were great to talk with. They were intelligent, friendly and professional guys, who explained to me exactly what the problem was and how they were going to resolve it. They also were patient in answering ALL my questions, in a friendly and professional manner. These guys are passionate about their work, and they're honest. I really wish there was another star to show how much I appreciate their work. My house was 3 weeks without AC because of the bad and incompetent people my Home Warranty was sending over. These guys resolved the issue within 24 hours. I'd highly recommend these guys to my friends and family. Really a great company! read more

I thought the customer service was great when scheduling an appointment around the closing of our home. Once scheduled, the appointment was moved. I then received a call during the time of the appointment that the technician would not be able to make it. The appointment was rescheduled for the following day with an appointment time provided by Reliability. I received two calls on the morning of the appointment. One to confirm and the second to cancel within 15 minutes of confirming. I was told the technician had a big job that would take all day. I made no other appointments and would not recommend this company. read more

We purchased their VIP maintenance program to get annual maintenance on our furnace and A/C. In April they serviced our A/C and found a leak and quote $1,063 to repair the leak. I called another HVAC technician and he repaired the leak for less than $300. Last week they came to inspect my furnace. The indicated that my 2013 Rheem furnace needed a blower motor because it was making noises. They also indicated that my chimney on the hot water heater was blocked which was causing CO to back up at the HWH and vent into our basement. They quoted over $2,000 to repair the two issues. I called the same HVAC technician that had fixed our A/C. He found a piece of cellophane in the blower fan that was making the noise. He also found no blockage in the HWH chimney but noted that whoever installed the HWH installed the chimney running down hill which is causing the issue. He also performed several system measurements that, at least one of which, could not have been done by Reliability. His inspection (including cellophane removal) totaled $350. I forwarded photos of the chimney, the cellophane causing the blower motor noise and the downhill chimney pipe along with cancellation of my VIP contract. They have not responded. read more

I have never written a negative review, but this experience was SO AWFUL, that I want to warn everyone. Robert McGee came out. He quoted me "options" including platinum drain cleaning and warranties to the tune of $1,300 for the kitchen U Pipe and $900 to hook up the stand alone ice maker. (I paid $80 for the latter at my former house and that guy had to drill through two cabinets!) When I selected the cheapest options, still $650 and $300 respectively, he tried to schedule dates to come out and do the work. He was supposed to do the work TODAY! And THEN he wanted me to pay him in advance! When I refused, he said he could call and get permission to take partial payment. I told him I'll pay you when the work is complete. He declined and I was obligated to pay the $149 service fee, to which I agreed on the phone if I didn't have the work done. What a FREAKING SCAM. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! read more

This company installed a central air conditioner for me in early 2015. The owner personally came to quote the job, and then again to assure the quality of the work. I am an engineer, and have done this kind of installation myself. The success or failure of the job is highly dependent on the quality of the work, and I am very picky about that. In my opinion, this job could not have been done better. I enjoyed talking with the crew as they worked, and it was readily apparent they were very knowledgeable about the work. I couldn't be happier with my experience with this company, and I highly recommend them. read more

Weird this company has no reviews? I actually found them through home advisor because a few hvac companies I found via yelp did not do the work that I needed. Reliability came to my home twice. The first time they came it was a $99 inspection fee which was much cheaper then the $170 an hour and then another amount per hour after that another company wanted to charge me! Reliability was on time also- a huge plus for me! My only issue is the first time they came to my condo they looked at the wrong unit and I was told I would have to pay $106 per gallon of Freon to refill something that was leaking. I prepared myself for 2- 3 gallons of the stuff. So the second visit they made to do this Rob showed up. Again, Reliability was on time. Rob and my real estate agent though figured it out that they had been looking at the WRONG unit that did NOT belong to my condo. So actually my condenser was only two years old and was in perfect condition. I would have been mad but they didn't charge me a dollar and this honestly happens all the time where they try to service the wrong unit at this condo building. Things could have gone very wrong and I could have been out $300 on top of the $99 but thank goodness it didn't. Amy at reception is pretty nice btw. She is courteous when taking calls and took my payment over the phone. read more
