Was very excited to be purchasing my first car, which I paid in full cash. I traveled from St. Louis Missouri all the way out to Springfield to purchase it and was told by the manager I will get an amount taken off for deposit and the trunk wrapped to match the color of the car. The manager was in denial about wrapping my trunk and being rude about the situation. They were also more worried about pushing the warranty in my face then getting the safety inspection done on the car which they also lied about and said was also done. Considering I paid in full cash you think I could've had those things done with no problem but profit means more to them than a satisfied customer. Will not return here and would not recommend the work ethic is all over the place as well as very pushy. read more

The service dept is horrible. Very rude. Our fuel pump went out 6 hours from home. Over 6 hours and $1000÷ later we left in our vehicle that now smells like stale cigarettes. The serve manager never offered us a courtesy vehicle or ride to get lunch. We had to walk. Horrible attitudes but they knew we were desperate and took advantage of the situation. Everytime I'm servicing or come to reliable chevrolet seems to be too busy. Wait time to change fuel filter is more that 2 hrs. After doing warranty work (diagnostic) 1/2 hour work time, I'm stuck here for more than 3 hours :( This gets more interesting, the service techs drove over a screw and guess what? Gotta wait some more, not very professional from the service department. They should have a complaint department, change the way you operate your business you will have more clients, come on guys, kick it up a notch! read more

My complaint is with the service department. The staff was fine, no issues. I went there a while ago with an appointment for an oil change. It took over 3 hours! I was not happy. Went back recently ONLY because I had some warranty work. They got that done in about 1.5 hours and it took another 1.5 for the oil change. I don't have time to wait around there for that. Filled out the survey they sent and said the service was slow. They emailed me multiple times and someone else then called me. Got ANOTHER survey from GM this time. I said the same thing. Reliable then called me back today. I am not coming back there and will drive to Marshfield or Ozark for warranty work. If they do not like the survey results then maybe they should not send them out. Either that or speed up their service. Edit: GM just tried to call me again. Seriously. Stay away from Reliable. This review is for the service department only as I never bought a vehicle from them. I had to keep returning for the same issue 3x trying to convice the service tech that there was a problem with my car. They failed to diagnose the problem two times in a row and it was only I became very insistent that there was rattling in my car from time to time, did they take their time and find that the balance shaft belt had to be replaced. Needless to say, I was less than enthused about this treatment However the service manager, Craig Youngblood, stepped in and apologized for the situation. I appreciate his willingness to work out a situation and will definitely come back again (but only after notifying Craig of my car issue first). read more

UNPROFESSIONAL! We made an appointment with the service department to make repairs on our 2015 Suburban. We were told they would have to order the part and installation would be 1- 2 hours. Since we don't live in Springfield, the day before our appointment we called to make sure the part was in and were told it was in. We have a 60 mile round trip, checked in with the service department 10 minutes early and went to the waiting room. Almost 2 hours later we were told they received the wrong part and they would have to order the correct part...2 hours later! Wouldn't you think they would have noticed before 2 hours? This was an expensive for us and accomplished nothing and they expect us to return???? Gas is expensive, my husband took off work...didn't receive any pay for the time he took off and waited 2 hours to be told he wasted his time and money. read more

The service technician tried to up sell me additional non-required parts, and they left a parting gift under the hood. Although Reliable has a poor rating, we found the service to be great. Fast accurate and courteous. Our rep showed us around the facility, including the coffee and donut bar. They have plenty of comfortable seating. We wanted to be Ina NS out in 2 hrs or less. They promised 60 minutes. We would have been out in under 40 is I had t asked so many questions about my new car. Go in to program a remote for my Mother's car and my CSR, crappiest job ever. Cannot program the remote, okay, just bring me th e car, I have been there almost an hour for a 30 min job. Observe my CSR receiving my keys, but a guy in a truck drives in and needs washer fluid. He leaves me standing there, really dude, you have my keys. He comes back and states, "Had another customer come in and took care of him"I do not care, I have been standing out in bay before his new customer, for an additional 15 minutes. Really. They told me that they're holding my title because "I didn't pay" the $1500. I certainly did and now they expect me to pay it again to get my title? Not happening! LIARS AND SHYSTERS This is my 2nd and last dealing with Reliable (what a joke) service. I have had my vehicle in twice for the same problem. A.C. kicking on and off, first time I was in about $750. I was told both times by the same liar, Nick Shanders, he would call me at a certain time. He obviously can't tell time or the truth. I called, both times, to be shoved to VM, then ignored until I asked for service manager, Kyle Goodman. The first time I dropped car a 9am and picked up at 5:50 pm. Today, Oct 11, 2017, I finally tolls him not to touch my car at 3pm. I mean in 5 hours, you haven't read the diagnostic on the A.C. system. The big problem is, they messed it up the first time and don't want to fix it. Reliable is anything but.... RUN to another dealer. The day after I posted this on Oct 11, 2017, I recieved a call from Ric McDade, asking me to bring the car in to see where the freon is leaking from and promised to take care of me personally. tbc FEB 27 2018 I took my car to a much more reliable shop and was told the ac compressor UNreliable chev. installed in April and another new one in Oct, was locked up. I had car towed to reliable in order to prevent further damage. I was told I would deal with Dixie Lee from now on, I'm yet to talk to her. They then attempted to charge me $120 for diagnosing the ac system. Not happening. Then they decided that the AC condensor was leaking. The car was full of freon,according to thier paperwork when they recieved it, they then replaced they defective part they initially installed. The paperwork then says freon is low. I asked to show me where the leak was, uh... we didn't fill it to see where it was leaking. I know I am a woman, but I can read, I was married to an ASE certified Chrysler mechanic for over 20 yrs. Nothing pisses me off more than being talked down to because I have breasts. Ric McDade is as big of a liar and loser as the alleged technicians that work there. No one out there stands behind thier workmanship, their word means less than nothing and I wish I had never trusted them. Sadly I took the car there so I wouldn't have to deal with another small shop and their shadetree mechanics. I found "reliable" mechanics are worse than Joe on the corner. read more

Sales guys were okay but when we sat down with the finance guy things turned south. Took him 3 time to get title ap right even after I wrote it out for him. Then he treated us like idiots when we wouldn't take all the add ons that we didn't need or want. Has held up sending us the title for 2 weeks giving time for check to clear. What's clear is they don't have a clue how long it takes for a check to clear. Wrote the check on June 19th. Cleared the 23rd. They still haven't sent the title. Dropped off a vehicle for insurance repairs. Insurance decided to total out the vehicle. We opted for the lower payment and keeping the car after we were assured it would be reassembled. Get there to pick it up and it's not reassembled. And were basically told sorry for you that you got wrong information. Called to speak to a mgr and was connected to a regular employee, went thru everything with him to find out he's not a mgr and told us we'd have to pay to have it reassembled, even tho their shop assured us. They have good prices but make up for it offering you3k less for your trade and charging an extra 1500 if you don't use Chevy finance. What should have been a 31k vehicle was now at 35k. Was told several timesseveral people were interested in the vehicle just to get me to come in and stand around for 2-3 hrs to wear you down so you will just sign because you are so tired of just being there. Warning. Rant! So in December I bought a pre-certified used suv from Reliable Chevrolet. They had just gotten this Rouge in that day and it was trashed. However I liked the way it drove. After 6 hours of debating and questioning hey said that was my only option for my price range since I refused to put anything down. I finally agreed and what confident in their customer service even though I wasn't in the vehicle itself. They had the vehicle for 2 or 3 days to clean and fix what was needed and then gave it back to me. It was still a little messy but I figured I'm OCD and ignored it. About 2 days after that I started hearing this chainsaw noise. And they said it was the heat shields and fixed it. It did it again and they said same thing and rode with me to hear it and fixed that one that came loose. At that time of 6 days after purchase (2 of which I had) I told them I had a horrible gut feeling and asked them to return it for a different vehicle. They refused said I would lose 3K. About a week later the noise came back and I noticed my floor board sunk in in the back and that my aux didn't work. They agreed to fix the aux but said the floor board was fine and it was in my head. They spoke to me like a little girl who didn't know what she was talking about, swore they got it looked at and nothing wrong it's "normal". After calling them everyday for 3 weeks to go higher and they said there was no one, I blasted them on their review page. They finally agreed to have Nissan look at it and Nissan told them that it was not normal and needed to be fixed. So I turned in my vehicle on Feb. 1st and got my back today. I asked Chevy what was wrong and they said normal wear. So I called Nissan and ask to see the report. THEIR report stated that the foam padding had deteriorated due to moisture (water damage). Apparently Chevy told them to change their report and they refused. So I have both reports that say two different things. I also found out from capital once and they sent me a letter of proof that they denied BOTH of the lower APRs that was offered for that loan and went with a different company that had a higher APR rate which I'm still waiting for documentation from them about that they give a pay out difference with proof of lower interest rate. I'm livid. I was taken advantage of, my vehicle I don't feel comfortable in, I was lied to and made to feel like I was dumb when I ended up being right. Reliable Chevrolet doesn't care about customers, they only care about money and payouts. That's it!!! I want them to take back the vehicle and put me in something else at my normal monthly payment and they state they can't. I'm beyond livid.......they just kept telling me the foam pad had wear on it and it's a lie........ I'm extremely disappointed And dissatisfied with them and their customer service. I so badly wish I could give Unreliable Chevrolet zero stars! The fiasco started a few years ago when my girlfriend and I came in to purchase a truck. We wanted the black Dodge and was told it was still available when I called before coming in and they would hold it for me. However, when I arrived at Unreliable Chevrolet, I was told that someone had put a down payment on it before I could arrive. Unfortunately, there were no other vehicles around that met my needs while being in my price range, so I was forced to settle for the red Silverado. I wish I could say the problems ended there, but it only got worse. Two days after leaving the lot with our certified used truck, we went out of town to a conservation area. After spending a few hours outdoors, we came back to our truck which would not start. I walked to a neighboring house and was fortunate enough to find someone to give us a jumpstart. O'Reilly's tested the battery and told me it needed replaced. I called Unreliable Chevrolet and demanded they reimburse me for that new battery I had to purchase. This was the only thing they have done right in this whole ordeal. After the battery ordeal, I was forced to visit the service center many times over for issues that should've been addressed during the certification inspection and process. The few things I could verify that was done on certification checklist was done in a very shade tree mechanic sort of way. The brakes were not replaced with OEM. They were replaced with O'Reilly's cheapest, which squealed incessantly until we could afford to buy a better quality set of brakes. Even something as simple as an oil change was not performed. When I checked the oil, It was very dark black and thin. If you are not aware, I will tell you that freshly changed oil will not be dark black and thin as water. A few days after that, the "new car smell" fragrance that was added to the vehicle have worn off and I started smelling stale cigarettes. I started investigating the odor by removing the ashtray and found a thick coating of hard ashes. I'm not a smoker and I did not think to check the ashtray when looking over the vehicle. I won't make that mistake again! Upon further inspection, I discovered a thick layer of soot in the top side of the ashtray compartment which had to be scraped out. I purchased a few products a couple days later because the smell did not go away. I sprayed these products everywhere inside the cab, including through the ventilation system. Nothing worked. Not to Febreeze, not 0zium, nothing. After several failed attempts, I decided to go back to the dealership and see what they could do about the problem. My salesman and a couple of his coworkers smelled the truck and said they could not smell anything. BS! I came back a couple days later when it was stronger and they told me the same thing. I then took the truck to the service drive and it insisted they investigate the odor and solve the problem without charge since the truck was certified. So, as you can imagine, I waited a few hours. Why? Because their service center is slower than molasses running down the side of an oak tree in January. They ran a fog through the truck and ventilation system which was supposed to get rid of the odor, but it was completely ineffective. It did however, leave a masking odor for a few days that was not pleasant. As a Deer hunter, odors like these are severely detrimental. As a non-smoker, the stale cigarette smoke is infuriating. The odor problem was never solved. I'm still looking for something to eliminate the smoke odor. I know this is a bit of a long review, but believe it or not, I'm kind of paraphrasing. After having the truck for only a month or so and experiencing many problems as well as spending many hours in the service center waiting area, I spoke to my salesman and sales manager about swapping for a another vehicle in the same price range. I told them that I don't want to do a trade-in and lose money. The sales manager told me he understood and would accommodate me if they had something I was interested in. I looked at vehicles and found something that met my needs. It was slightly out of my price range, but I felt I could make it work. When I spoke to the sales manager and my salesman they started working up a deal and came back to me with the most ludicrous deal they could. I would essentially have to pay off my current vehicle and buy the second vehicle while giving up the current vehicle as part of the trade and only get a couple thousand dollars trade in value from the current truck. WOW! I did not realize I looked that stupid. They somehow managed to keep a straight face like Leslie Nielsen dead panning a joke while spewing out an attempt at their most profitable scam ever. I somehow kept my calm while explaining to them that they have completely contradicted themselves and their original agreement. I recently purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Reliable Chevrolet and worked with a Sales Person named Tanner Roberts. This young gentleman was very personable, respectful, helpful, and made my buying experience very pleasant. I have bought many, many vehicles in my lifetime and never had as good an experience as I did with Mr. Roberts. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle, and answered all my questions. Mr. Roberts was very efficient with the paperwork. All of the people I met at Reliable were very friendly and up-beat. When they found out I am a Viet Nam Veteran, they all shook my hand and thanked me for my service. Mr. Roberts also made sure the vehicle was cleaned, detailed and had the vehicle delivered to my home one hour away from Springfield! A couple of weeks after my purchase, I heard a strange noise in the transmission of the vehicle. I contacted Mr. Roberts and he quickly arranged to have the vehicle entered into the service department the same day. Not knowing how long it would take to make any repairs, he arranged for a brand new Chevy Pick-up truck for my use while my vehicle was being repaired. My vehicle was fixed within a few hours and I was able to pick it up the next day. I would not hesitate to refer a friend or family member to Tanner Roberts, knowing that Mr. Roberts would do his best to make the buying experience a great one! read more

Then they had to tear it apart and covered it up in the paper work. Then finally the 4 piston quit firing and they said " well your warranty is up" and charged me $150 to get it out of the shop. They were suppose to put a engine in and it never ran properly. Had to sell the truck and the new owner said it looked like amateurs put the engine in. Not sure what I can add to what has already been written. I should have read the reviews before taking my vehicle to Reliable. Took my Chevrolet in for 15K service. I was told when I purchased the vehicle that my first two services would be free. My first one (at a different dealership) was free. This one was not. I was told that the oil & filter change and rotation WERE deducted from the total ($35 deduction) and the remaining balance was $205. Turns out Reliable's 15K service includes items I could not find in the 15K requirements in my owner's manual (e.g. throttle body and induction service (?), battery service (?), etc.) All of these extra services made up the $200 additional. I'm not clear how dealerships like this stay in business. How can surprising customers with unexpected and unnecessary services/charges be a good long-term business model. Stay away from this dealership if you have other options. Republic, Ozark, and Marshfield all have Chevrolet dealers. read more

If I could leave a zero star rating I would, but unfortunately I'm require to leave one. This was my first experience buying a car from this dealership and never again! I had went in originally for an oil change. Immediately as I pull in for service I get asked how much my car is worth and how much I have left paying on it etc. They asked if they could run an appraisal and I agreed because I was generally curious. They then inform that my car was only worth 3K because apparently it was in a salvage auction sale (did not know this before hand). They then showed me the vehicle I currently have. On the sales floor they had mentioned about certified pre-owned.(this will be important later). I was not interested in buying a car, especially being by myself and being a female. Was persuaded into buying because was told I should sell my car now while it's still worth something before it breaks down and then I'm stuck on the side of the road with my child. I had another appointment that day and informed them that I would think on it and talk to my father. I came back to the dealership after my other appointment and the first thing said to me by my sales person (Matt), "so what did daddy say". I laughed it off because I didn't want things to be awkward. I had then asked if I could see their certified pre-owned and was then told I'm more likely to get approved for a new car rather than a pre owned because I had negative equity rolling over from my old car to the current. That didn't makes sense but again I was naive. Upon sitting down and working out finances, they had asked for second source of income and I provided that privately with my seller, only to have it announced across the sales floor. I then asked about GAP, and my seller then asked, "do you even know what GAP is?", again I laughed it off because I didn't want things to be awkward. When discussing price I was hesitant being only 21, single mom, and a college student, was then told, "well I could just put you in a 10k-15k and send you on your way, but this car will be more reliable". Even was more hesitant and another comment was made "well that just means you need to work harder and get more money so you can pay this car off as quick as you can!" When everything was said and done, was verbally told that I would get a small cleaning, floor mats, and a free oil change for my first time. On paper, it's stated that they don't owe me anything. I got my floor mats though! That saved me $100 (sigh). I never received my cleaning, and when I got my floor mats I had asked if I could get a refund for the oil change on my old car since I essentially paid for it just for it to be sold at the dealership. My new car only had a 50% life of oil left on it... when I asked, was told "well you're getting a free oil change for your next service so no but when it gets down to 30% to call the shop and schedule an appointment " . Leaving the dealership, was suggested I give my private information to one of the employees because they would "pay". Laughed it off and left. Two weeks after purchasing I had ran into financial issues and got a pay cut from my job. I called the dealership three separate times and was then put on hold/call back/no answer. I was only trying to see if the dealership would work out a deal with me or if there was something we could do. I guess I was not important enough because no one from the dealership had contacted me. I had called yesterday separate times to get ahold of someone to cancel my extended warranties, was asked if I could be put on call back and I had informed them no that I would like to talk to someone now. When asking about canceling my extended warranties, was told that they don't deal with that, and that I need to contact the company when they open on Monday. (Weird because I thought they had cancel papers in their office, but what do I know I'm just a naive young female). I'm now stuck with a car that I can't afford, and now privately selling so I don't get repoed or go into more debt that I have. I should have taken more time to think on it, but I really thought I was getting a good deal because my seller is a father and told me, "if you were my daughter, I would put you in a car like this." This dealership is so misogynistic and I felt like I was being treated like I'm stupid. Takes advantage of females by themselves. This was such a horrible experience. Never again, beware! I have a free oil change but after everything, I'll just change it myself with my dad because that is what my "daddy" suggested. Thank you again RELIABLE Chevrolet! The only reason they are getting 1 star is because I have to in order to review. I bought a 2016 Dodge Charger SRT8 from Reliable on the 30th of Oct. They had to replace a headlight (which was part of the deal) that had water in it and were upset about it because, "we didn't make any money on the deal and we are upside down in it". The dealer ultimately replaced it and one of the salesman took photos for me showing the front of the car. It was apart and the driver's headlight was gone and the passenger side was there with nothing wrong. I get the car back and the passenger side has water in it now. I brought this to the attention of the sales manager, Rich, first and then the "acting" general manager, Rick, and they said that they wouldn't fix it because they were not going to spend anymore money on the car. I have photos before and after the "repair" showing that it was fine until it was in their shop. I caution people to avoid this place and hope that they learn to treat their customers better. Them not making money on the deal should not be a factor of doing the right thing and fixing something they caused. I tried twice to give them a chance to fix the issue and they said said they wouldn't because they didn't want to lose more money on the deal that they made. Nooooooot so Reliable are they? I am going to try posting before and after photos here in hopes that people see them and decide for themselves how this dealership does business. On a positive note, the salesman, Ryan, was a very nice person and did his best to take care of me despite the constraints of his employer. read more

this yelp is directed towards the horrible worthless service department. I had my perfectly running vehicle in for a couple simple recalls and when I got It back it would hardly drive like as if my foot was on the break constant I called them and they said they would pay for the tow bill if it was their fault which in my mind it was without a doubt considering it was just fine before I took it to them. a week later they call and ask if they can proceed with finding the problem I agreed as long as there was no charge she said alright and continued. two days after that calls and tells me they hav e to replace the head gaskets for 4500$(the last thing anyone would replace unless absolutely necessary) I about dropped dead I couldn't believe they were trying to rip me off so bad. I told them hell no I'm just come get my car and she said ok it's 125 to get it out now. I asked wtf kind of scam are you guys running 125 and you didn't fix a thing that you broke in the first place AFTER you told me no charge...so I paid the 125 and tow bill and took my car to kennys auto who flushed the break fluid and did something else for 100$ and ran fine ever snice. I HIGHLY recommend not using or trusting these goofball crooks with nothing. I mean nobody's buying bran new cars w the economy so I guess they have to make $ some how but rob someone to their face do w a 50 $ rip off not 4300$ difference that's just sad. read more

These guys are vultures. They would hardly even let me drive around the lot to see if they had what I wanted, which they didn't. They kept trying to get me to stop so they could throw a sales pitch at me. I refused to roll down my window after the first guy. read more
