I hired Macias Carpet & Flooring to do an LVP install in my upstairs living areas and carpet in the bedrooms and lower floor. They have a great selection of hard flooring and carpeting in their showroom and worked with me to get the most accurate measurements and pricing possible. The overall project cost was very amenable and scheduling very flexible to work with my work/personal schedules. When it came to the installation, there were two crews that came up on different days according to the schedule we set up: the LVP crew and the carpeting crew. The LVP crew led by Sean was excellent in installing the LVP. We live in an older house so they had to make various tweaks and modifications as an experienced group of installers would. Sean made several follow up trips after the main install was done to get a few small issues resolved (again because we have an old house) to make sure everything was done to complete satisfaction. He was always friendly, knowledgable, and communicative about what needed to be done. Big thumbs up to Sean for customer service! The carpet crew was quick, efficient, and done inside of a day despite the large areas they had to work on. They did an excellent job of the install and made sure to have me to an inspection before signing off on the work. Both crews were also great at allowing me to address squeaking and creaking on my floors and stairs while they did their work. We have hired Macias for rental house work as well as for our primary residence. Veronica is always highly informative about all aspects of carpets, from quality levels to installation, and willing to spend many hours patiently assisting with carpet selection and showroom samples over an extended period of time. The crews are always congenial, considerate and flexible to work with. In our most recent job involving a large area (approximately 1800 sq ft), Jaime Macias personally directed the large operation. All baseboard was preserved and the work was excellent. As importantly, when there was a misunderstanding regarding the cost of a particular labor, Jaime was accommodating and willing to resolve that to our satisfaction. When we discovered a few minor flaws after installation (not surprising for a job of this magnitude) Jaime and the crew promptly returned and worked diligently to correct these flaws to our satisfaction. And when an unexpected mishap occurred - a crazy accident that damaged our new carpet which we caused - they replaced the damaged area without charging us for the additional work, which was was absolutely wonderful of them. Finally, it has always been my experience that Macias Carpet prices for product and installation are significantly more economical than other bids for essentially the same work by other carpet firms, and accompanied by a high level of skill and excellent customer service. My carpet installation with Macias Carpet was efficient, diligent, and very reasonably priced. I needed to replace the carpet in the upper level of my condo. I contacted 4-5 other companies and Macias gave me the best quote. I had also heard great things about Macias, as my real estate agent had highly recommended them. I went in to their office in Kirkland to see their carpet options. Jamie was super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I considered purchasing laminate flooring from them + getting peel and stick vinyl installed by them, but ultimately decided to go with just carpet for now. I picked out a white Lifeguard carpet, and within minutes I got a detailed quote. I ended up scheduling my carpet replacement appointment for later that week on a Saturday. Talk about super fast turnaround time! The carpet installers showed up on time and finished the job within 2.5 hours. I was told it would take from 9 AM to 5 PM, but they were out by 11:30! Granted, they replaced the carpet and kept the existing carpet tack strips, but still, very fast and efficient service. For a small fee, I was able to have the carpet installers dump additional carpet from the lower level that I had demo'd myself. I appreciated their flexibility with this. If you're considering going with Macias, I'd recommend checking their Facebook page, as they frequently post their in stock carpet options with pricing. For reference, I paid $3 per sq ft for carpet, pad, and installation, plus an additional $0.22 per sq ft for demo/dump, plus $10 per stair. Your quote may vary depending on the carpet you choose, but either way, these prices are reasonable compared to other local options! I was quoted for 100 sq ft more than what was actually used, and Veronica was quick to follow up and update my invoice. We hired Macias Carpet Installation to stretch our existing carpets that had some buckling. I called to get an estimate which they gave over the phone after asking about square footage and number of rooms. I asked about moving furniture and was told I probably wouldn't need to move everything out of the rooms, that their team could work around some stuff and could help move if needed (and that would cost extra). I was quoted $500 for the work and they would be able to come out the next business week. They said their crew would let me know onsite if the estimate would change based on seeing the space in person. My husband and I worked to clear the rooms of all items and furniture. Three of the eight rooms were entirely empty. The remaining five had 2 items of furniture each, of which were relatively light enough to move easily (bed frames) or we had installed gliders on the bottom of the items so they could be pushed. The crew showed up on time. They looked at the rooms when they arrived (perhaps a total of 3-5 minutes to do the walkthrough). I then received a call from the office that the work would now be $1200 (140% increase over their estimate of $500). At that time I explained that we had not changed the scope of work, had followed directions with regards to moving furniture (and that we were on hand to move furniture as they went). But was told that was the price and I could take it or leave it, and they felt justified in changing the price since they said they would re-estimate when they got here. She did agree to come down $100 and not charge sales tax. We had ALL of our stuff crammed into hallways and other living spaces and had no other choice but to pay their inflated cost. And they knew that. In the end, they were done in 2 hours (2 crew members x 2 hours = 4 man hours). Had it taken them longer, I might have been more agreeable to the higher cost. The sales rep even accused me of giving her incorrect square footage numbers, even though I measured and they did not. The work they did was great, But we are SUPER dissatisfied with their estimate process and customer service. I would recommend only using them if you have a written estimate performed with them seeing the job in person PRIOR to their crew showing up at your house. read more

Good service. Quick and clean. Called in 2 months to ask the brand and color of my carpet, got the answer fairly quickly.

They ordered the wrong carpet and acted like they were put out too! There was two carpet styles name, one solid and one multi color. She should have clarified (ordered off the original invoice) and we'd have no way of knowing there was more than one. She tells ME that it's not great for them either because they are stuck with a carpet they don't need and not sure why it wasn't on the original work order. Not my fault or problem and the least of my concerns. She was driving to work when she called me and I told her I was frustrated at how she was handling the situation. We have displaced kids and trim scheduled after the carpet install and then she tells me that if I want "A" carpet installed today that they can help but she is driving as fast as she can, not being defensive and is working on an exact match. So annoying! Not only that but they came back the Monday after the debacle (my sons birthday) and they were late. With their minimum install it ended up costing $550/hr for installation and wouldn't budge in that to compensate for wasting my time. I finally had to tell her that after all this, she never even apologized. What a joke. read more

The quality of work and carpet is fine. The scheduling was easy at a short notice, the responses were prompt over an e-mail. There go the things I didn't like. Though they had a plan of my apartment they insisted I should buy 9*12 feet (33%) more than I actually needed for one of the rooms ($320 worth, plus padding and installation) - I don't think this is acceptable. We don't have space to keep this huge roll in a 1-br so just gave it away the next day. To say more, they left 0 padding, though it had been payed for (and I can't see how it is possible to spend more padding than carpet, at least in Euclidean space), they took everything that was left and said it was theirs. The manager said that I should be happy because they have secretly added 2*12 feet for another room for free (because realized their estimate was short). So smth is definitely wrong with their estimates. As for the installers, one of them gets obviously annoyed and even aggressive if you dare to watch the Sacred Process of Installation and ask questions. They don't use any wet fabric or plastic curtains, so the common areas carpets in the building were pretty dirty during the several hours of installation. When I gave them the wet piece of carpet to clean their shoes, the Annoyed guy told me to relax in a very aggressive tone (no usage of cloth, obviously), and had been looking at me like an enemy the whole day. I know their work is very toxic, but why adding the toxicity by treating your customers like this? The second guy was nice. So, the result is OK, but pretty nerve-consuming. read more
