I had 2 experiences with this company. The first, they replaced a capacitor, and the cost was $400. The second, they quoted $1200 to replace a fan motor. I felt this was an overpriced offer. Our ac quit working Thur at eight pm. Called reliance and got instructions to assist us.. sent text msg received phone call from Rachel the next morning at 7:30 with info that they were sending a service man between 12:00/4:00 that day!!! Rachel called back at 10:00 and said they could come early!!! Repair man was working On unit at 10:30!!! Found problem replaced part inspected the entire system including air handler in attic!!' The response for an elder home owner with one unit when it was 106 outside and over 88 in the house was truly amazing!!! Reliance is third generation company with service them first mission!!! Editing to respond back to the owners lack of accountability response to my initial review which seems to be the norm for them: The big issue is that a brand new unit installed two years ago should NOT be having two compressor failures which has caused us to dump more money into the unit. Every second opinion we have received has stated that it's an original install issue. Even to the point where other installers have said "the lines used for refrigerant look old, probably from the original unit. These weren't changed out from the install". Aka, the refrigerant line that is still up there is from the original unit that was installed in the 90's. You couldn't even replace that? Even when we tried reaching out to the owner 2 months out of our "labor warranty" we didn't even get as such a phone call back from him. Also I want to state the fact that after doing our research we discovered it wasn't out of good faith with the price you provided us because 5 other companies offered the same work for the same price even though they didn't do the original install. You tried to sell it to us as just paying for the "refrigerant " which we know was incorrect as most tanks run roughly between $400-$600. That is a 90% upsell but you take pride in standing behind your work and doing right by your customers right? We understand it's a business and are not trying to take money out of anyone's pockets but the fact that nothing was done 2 months past the labor warranty is not good customer service especially since we were new business to you that spent almost $8k during the hottest recorded time frame in AZ history. Yes you did provide temporary cooling units, the first one didn't work so you came back out with a new one which we were so appreciative of however it didn't cool down the place at all, we never used that against your company but we ended up staying in a hotel for about a week. All we have wanted is to have a little accountability for this. Even though we were upset the first time we kept silent and moved on but now that's it happened twice, I'm sorry we cannot take this lying down. We live in a condo with no access to our AC unit. The only control we have is flipping the switch to turn it on so we know it's not a "user error" issue. And one last side note: we were also told that since the compressor was blown from the first time that meant we could NOT use our heater since it was hooked up to the same system. Come to find out that was incorrect and we are able to use the heating side. Another company explained that to us today too. This review was a long time coming. We used Reliance AC to replace our 20-year-old unit in July 2023, and it's been nothing but problems since. We thought we did our due diligence when we decided to use them after our AC broke during the hottest week of summer considering they were a reputable company. It took them 5 days to schedule the install during the hottest week of summer, and the temporary window units they provided didn't work forcing us into a hotel for a week. Just 14 months later, the compressor failed. Reliance tried to charge us $1,200 for the replacement, claiming to waive labor fees but inflating refrigerant costs. They showed no accountability for such a major failure in a new system, even from ownership not even a phone call. We went elsewhere for the repair. Now, August 2025, only 25 months since install, the compressor failed once AGAIN but only this time the compressor is no longer covered under warranty which is now forcing us to pay completely out of pocket for everything. After multiple consultations, every company concluded this was due to the initial install done by Reliance in 2023. Multiple major breakdowns in such a short time are unacceptable and the company's dismissive attitude even from ownership made things even worse. We regret ever giving this company our money and will never recommend or use them again. Bottom line: Reliance does not stand behind their work or their products. We will be filing a claim with the ROC. Save yourself the stress and money and take your business elsewhere. read more

Had an excellent experience recently with Reliance. I don't normally give out 5 star reviews but in this case it's absolutely warranted and I'd use them again without question for any AC issue I have in the future. Scheduling was very easy. I got my arrival window advisory via txt the previous day, and then the next day a txt to let me know that the technician was on his way. That message showed me a photograph of the technician, Tristan, along with some brief details about him, when he started with the company, his hobbies, and a useful link to track his progress which brought up a map view showing his truck location. Definitely appreciated the abundance of info here; while all that really mattered to me was how long the serviceperson would take to get to my house, others may feel more comfortable knowing what their tech looks like. Always nice to have a personal touch, regardless. Tristan was very professionally presented, friendly and got straight to work on the roof, setting up a new PVC drain line from my AC unit, washing down the inside and outside with mild detergent and later even testing pressure and in/out temperatures to ensure that the unit was functioning to spec. He took photos roofside and showed me the cleaning process, before and after pics, and of course the new drain line. Everything was done in a very reasonable timeframe, at an extremely reasonable cost (FAR cheaper than their more famous competition had quoted.) The cost, quality of service, quality of technician and their en-route notification technology is beyond what I was expecting. Not hard to see why they've got such fantastic reviews on Yelp and Nextdoor. 1000% recommend this company. read more

We have been customers for last 4 years and have had both AC units replaced by them. They do a wonderful job when it comes to installing however they are a major letdown when it comes to maintenance or helping fix a problem. The main problem is that they send out this kid that lacks enough experience to solve issue the first time. They sold us a maintenance plan and all it was, was this kid tinkering around and trying to upsell us on some air circulator that we don't need. Fast forward a year and we have the same issue come up where our AC thermostat turns off yet again and I call for help. Only to be told by this lady that we don't maintain our unit. Thanks just what we want to hear when we have no air and we just had it serviced by them a year ago! No, hey let me help you troubleshoot instead, we can be there today but it's $95 to come out. I see customer loyalty doesn't matter here. Our real estate agent recommended them but we will no longer use them if this how they treat you after install. This is our third summer with the overpriced very efficient Bosch unit on our roof. It sucks at cooling. It is not designed by the Germans for Maricopa County. It has saved money on my SRP bill. However, it cannot handle the high temperatures where I live. All of this July it only cools to about 80 degrees from noon to sundown. The first summer was a failure as well. Last summer was mild and it was fine most days. I'm not complaining about Reliance so much, just their product. I paid 10k cash. I am not pleased. BTW, in heat mode it makes the wall between the kitchen and my bedroom hum. I would keep shopping if someone offers you the overpriced Bosch. read more

After a week long business trip, I returned home on a Friday afternoon to find my AC unit broke sometime while I was gone. 117 degrees outside and 101 degrees inside certainly was a delightful slap in the face! Called up Reliance and they happened to have a tech available and he was there a few hours later. I was in a bind since my AC took a crap. Got 3 estimates and didn't want to wait any longer because it was getting hot soon. Reliance had estimator Daniel come out same day with in the hour with his trainee. Took photos of everything and showed me with detail description what they will need to do. They didn't push me into buying the expensive units, just explaining the difference of all the Tranes they carried. The other estimates was Ruud and Goodman, very basic, and cost more. The other companies steered me away from Trane cause they said it's hard to get replacement parts. Daniel assured me he has warehouse stocked with replacement parts. 2 days later the crew arrived around 7:15 and finished by 2:30. They did a great job with install, clean up and orientation. If you're reading this because your AC is out - just call them while you read this. They are the best. Daniel and the team are outstanding. One day after returning home from work we noticed our AC was out and there was a burnt smell in the house. At the time we had Precision Air our service provider because we'd bought a maintenance package from them a few years before. When Precision's tech came by later that night, he advised us our ac unit would need to be replaced. We were quoted: $11,800 for a 3 ton Goodman AC unit. That included a 10 year manufacturers warranty. My wife refused and I went searching for someone else. We found reliance and Daniel and his team. When we met with Daniel he was helpful and friendly. Then he gave us the following quote: $6800 for a 3 ton Trane AC unit that also included a 10 year manufacturer warranty. Literally a better unit for $5000 less. Go nowhere else. Boy, did I get lucky! My AC stopped working and by the time my normal installer/maintenance company checked it out and told me the condensor had died, I was into a second day w/o AC and the home was at 90 degrees. Contacted a number of companies and Daniel Grimm from Reliance called and came out that PM. We discussed a complete Trane system and I agreed to a new system to replace my 8 yo Goodman heat pump and AHU. Reliance could not install the system for another 4 days and gave me a portable AC unit for my bedroom, which was a lifesaver. Enrique and Jose' installed the system in 1 day and I could not be happier. They cleaned up after their work and kept me informed during the install. A couple of weeks later, I felt that the zoning system (1 heat pump feeding 3 zones) was not functioning properly and called Daniel about it. That afternoon Enrique and a helper came out and spent several hours checking out and fixing a damper that was not completely closing. It is now working as good as ever. Of the many HVAC service companies I have utilized in my homes across the US, this company is, by far the best. No BS and they know their business especially working on Trane equipment. When our air conditioner stopped working in the middle of a June night, we called a number of AC companies. Reliance was the first to respond. Azel did the initial inspection and, even though it was late in the day, he alerted Daniel to our emergency, and he was at our door within the hour. Our rep, Daniel was very helpful with helping us figure out which split unit was best for the size of our house and best for our needs. Enrique and Jose were very polite and did a great job explaining everything. Also while installing they discovered the ductwork from the original system was done in various sizes, which caused some rooms to be colder and some hotter. They fixed this so we would have even distribution throughout the house. The installation went very smooth and they were very focused in all parts of the job.
