My wife and I have now tried Remington twice, and both times have been awful. As a local farrier, I like to support local businesses, but this experience has been disappointing. The first time, I gave them the benefit of the doubt since they had just opened. I ordered the pork chop, which was tough as nails and overcooked. I expected things to improve, but tonight's meal was not even worth paying for. I was served salmon that smelled overly fishy, and the taste was even worse. If you know anything about salmon, it should never smell or taste fishy. My wife ordered a petite filet, which was cooked well but had no flavor at all--just heavy butter, seemingly meant to add flavor, but it didn't help. We regularly dine at places like Mark's, Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris, and we're happy to pay for quality. Unfortunately, Remington is overpriced with terrible food quality. Honestly, I've had better meals from food trucks. As a local farrier, I speak with many local horse owners, and they share my opinion: the food here is terrible and not worth the price. read more

We had been looking forward to trying Remington's but waited until after the grand opening rush. Sadly, it did not live up to the hype. We went 30 minutes before our reservation to have a drink and the bar was packed. It is a very poor setup with waitstaff passing through the bar to deliver food. With all of their experience, the owner/manager should have thought out the traffic patterns in their new space. But we were seated promptly at reservation time and our server, Jen, was delightful. What restaurant doesn't have unsweetened iced tea???? Remington's doesn't.... But Jen brewed two glasses to accommodate my order. The lobster bisque was very flavorful but lukewarm. Our two filets were cooked perfectly. Our sides were very disappointing- both the cauliflower and scalloped potatoes lacked flavor, were undercooked and were watery. They need to have a baked potato on the menu! The best part of the meal was the peanut butter torte - it was excellent! The front dining room where we sat was very noisy. The bar/back dining room really lacked atmosphere- just four walls painted dark blue. Would we go back? Nope, not for those prices! Restaurant owners and managers should realize that for high prices, customers expect great food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere... Food was absolutely delicious! But very pricey. The service was excellent, however, the restaurant owner herself kept making us feel uncomfortable by circling our table the whole time we were there. When we received our over $900.00 check, the owner told the wait staff not to split the check. It took us a 1/2 hour just to calculate what we were all charged. That was embarrassing, meanwhile the owner was still circling our table. At that point, while we were getting to leave, my husband stopped her in the reception area and told her off. We will not ever go back!! The ambiance was nice, but a little loud. read more

A superb new place to dine. The atmosphere and decor are refined and conducive to fine dining, which is exactly what you get here. We ordered crab cakes, burrata salad, filet mignon, lobster tails, and asparagus. All were some of the best we have ever had. The entire staff were awesome. Taking all things and considered I will give this a solid three star review. I thought the food was good. I had the halibut it was cooked perfectly and flavorful. I added a side of the risotto and it was very tasty. My wife had the chop salad and the sea scallops. She enjoyed both. We had dessert and drinks and were happy with all. The problem with this restaurant is the front house , wait staff , and decor. Unfortunately, the decor is very low end for the price point of this restaurant. There is no windows or views. The decor is of lower quality. Literally posters on the wall in frames. The hostess was wearing flats and they look like flip-flops. The wait staff need training. He was not able to answer questions about the menu. Where were the product sourced. Wait staff should never ask for you to hand them your plates. There was a woman who could've been the owner or the front house manager walking around and asking the patrons. How was their dinner? Unfortunately, she was wearing jeans and flats and definitely was not polished. Diner for 4 was over $500 without entrées. For 3 of the guests. So my problem with the restaurant is they need to up the front house game to match the check. Great ambiance and exceptional service! However, while the food (fillet mignon, venison chops & gouda smoked potatoes) were good, it just didn't measure up to the prices charged. By comparison, we recently had a similar dinner at a favorite restaurant out of state that was much tastier at half the cost. Really wanted to love this place. read more

First time visit with friends. Atmosphere was nice, sound levels a little too loud but not stressful. Service was EXCEPTIONAL! Waiter was very personable, friendly, informative and answered all our questions. The drinks were amazing and very favorable. My wife and I each ordered the Petite 8 oz Filet which was cooked to perfection and delicious. Also ordered a side of au gratin potatoes we shared, which was fantastic and enough for two people. Then ordered Peanut Butter Chocolate Tort for desert and it was INCREDIBLE! Not someone who frequents high end restaurants but would definitely go back for a family event, holiday, anniversary or birthday. My wife and I and two friends from out of town went to dinner yesterday, Saturday night, at Remingtons and had a terrific experience. Our server, Jen, was very knowledgeable and personable, and treated us like royalty. The wine and drinks were excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, which consisted of crabcake appetizers, chock full of crab, wedge salad, and Caesar salad, the sea bass, and filet mignon, both of which were perfectly prepared, the smoked Gouda, scalloped potatoes, and the feta and broccolini risotto. The only thing that I believe could have been better is a better pour for my martini. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and we will be back and will recommend your restaurant to our friends. read more

Wow what a great steak house and excellent service! We started with lobster bites appetizers. I had the bone in filet and my wife had a petite fillet, both were cooked to perfection. The sides were à la cart, we tried to spinach and mushrooms mix and lyonnaise potatoes which were both perfectly cooked. For desert we tried peanut butter and fudge tart. Excellent! Great wine! Over priced food and drinks. Most glasses of wine were about $20 which was more than what the bottle was worth and the food was à la cart and was so so. I ordered a $24 hamburger and it came out medium well and I asked for medium rare, and it was 1/4 inch thick and gray. Not so good. read more

Our first visit but definitely not our last! By far the best prime filet I've had in years. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. Our waiter Kevin was right there to take our drinks order. We split the lobster escargot - unique and wonderful - and then the wedge salad. Medium rare filets done to perfection. Grilled Brussels sprouts amazing! Wine list is friendlier than most - many recognized and affordable with some nicer ones to splurge on for a special occasion. Dessert flan a home run! It has taken me a week to cool down after our dinner at Remington Steakhouse in Ocala. Based on their reviews on Yelp, we had planned an exceptional dinner for our 57th wedding anniversary. Our server, Felix, was extremely attentive and timely. Our Lobster appetizer was wonderful. Then the main course proceeded to go downhill. We could not believe a steak restaurant did not offer a baked potato, the New York strip was extremely chewy and the sides were questionable. Given the cost of this meal $$$, we would not recommend the establishment. read more

Let me start by saying the atmosphere and the waiter was exceptional. The drinks were amazing, as were the appetizers. We had several different drinks, including desert drinks, and all were perfect. For appetizers we had the fritters, bruschetta, and the crab cakes. Again all we're fantastic. We ordered different steaks at the table (group of 5). That part I was not impressed by, and most of us weren't. I ordered the Delmonico, medium-rare. And for the price I felt like the steak was flavorless and a bit dry. Others at the table had the same feeling. I did get the black garlic bourbon butter, and that was phenomenal! Absolutely the best part of the steak. I took my management team of 20 people to Remingtons for dinner. I could not have been more impressed with this restaurant. First, I thought the decor was very updated. The menu was extensive and very well priced. Plenty of choices for everyone. Food was prepared perfect from appetizers to entrees to deserts (try the Berry Pie). But what really stood out was the seamless, superb service!!! We had three people taking care of our two tables and they were exceptional. Very disappointing, mainly the food. The service was very good and the restaurant clean. Ambiance was ok, table cloth & candle lamp are nice touches, comfortable chairs, but no windows & just an open dining area mainly, simple & understated. Bar in the back & private party area if you're looking for that. The food was disappointing which I'm terribly sad about, given the fact it is so close to my home. My husband scraped layers of salt off of his salmon (& he loves salt!). I tried it and, I just couldn't. It was literally awful. I ordered the filet and had to send it back (prepared wrong), which I have never had to do at comparable places, but- it was made right... & then... salt! I am a foodie who actually likes the flavor of "good" (quality) food. If it's fresh and high grade food, there is no need for an overload of salt to cover it up. This was not enhancing the flavor, it overpowered / killed it, unfortunately. The scalloped potatoes were good. The beet salad was fair... personally not a fan & I usually love beet salads. The first time I went, I had a wonderful Barretta (?I think was the name?) salad & ate outside, which was just great. It's what made me go back. Tonight... cant say I'll go back. Not because things can't be salvaged. I could have a lousy experience in every way, but if the staff cares about it, I'm easy as they come. We were looking forward to our anniversary dinner at Remingtons. Our server, Jay, was exceptional and deserves 5 stars for his part of our dinner. Remingtons states "business casual" as the dress code. A complete turn off for us were the patrons next to us, some with shorts and t-shirts. I understand that it is hard to turn away customers, but there is no reason to seat them in the restaurant area when there is a separate bar area. This really ruined the restaurant's nice atmosphere. Our food was OK, the steaks were cooked as we requested, but they seemed dry with a lack of flavor. Not the high end quality we expected for their prices. Also, I stated it was an anniversary dinner when I made the reservation. No mention of it by the restaurant (our server Jay did bring us napkin rose after we mentioned it). Dinner for two, with wine, was close to $300. There are other options in Ocala that we would recommend before Remingtons. read more
