My husband and I were originally under contract on a home that needed nearly $100k in repairs, and Idan came out without hesitation and provided us with an honest, straightforward estimate. We ultimately purchased a different home in much better condition, but he was still happy to take on a smaller landscaping project for us. Estimates and adjustment requests were always quick. One thing to note is to be clear about scheduling and expectations upfront, as we had a few minor hiccups along the way. That said, Idan was very understanding, listened to our concerns, and made sure everything was addressed. I needed a chandelier installed, so I sent out a request on Yelp. Electric Heroes was one of the first to respond, and I got a "video" appointment quickly. My appointment was a phone call with Matan, who was very knowledgeable and reassuring. I explained I need the chandelier to be moved over with a chain and hook, and he said no problem and that he would bring the hook with him. I got a quote quickly, and he was able to schedule me in for the same week. Wow, too good to be true! The day of the installation, 2 technicians show up on time, but they didn't know anything about moving the chandelier over with a hook and chain. There was also a language barrier, so I had to explain with drawings and videos. They tell me they can't do that. So they call Matan, who says yes it can be done. They then have to go to Home Depot to buy the hook. Matan shows up briefly to give the guys some instructions, and they complete the job. In the end, the job is done well, and I'm very happy with the installation. The guys were courteous, professional, and they cleaned everything up after they were done. I also like that all the billing and payment was done electronically so there's a record of down payment and final payment. Nothing, billing-wise, was a surprise. If it weren't for the initial miscommunication between Matan and the technicians, this would have been a 5-star review. read more

We worked with Remodeling Heroes for a fairly large remodeling job for our 2 bedroom condo. Overall, the experience was quite positive. The team was thorough and delivered most things to our liking. They even went beyond the scope to handle a few additions to our list once the project had started. The only negatives were scheduling and timing- the project took far longer than the original estimate due to some staffing issues on their side. That caused them to rush through the end of the project and the original attention to detail was lost. Some of the work they did towards the end was rough around the edges (literally). read more

Seriously - one of the best experiences ever with an electrician. The story... So we bought a new place, and wanted to use my girlfriends' washer and electric dryer in it. What do ya know? The 220 volt doesn't work! Had a bunch of electricians out and they said $250 per hour, minimum two hours for this kind of diagnostic work. Ouch. Ok, we'll get a gas dryer instead. Matt from Electric Heroes comes by - was totally expecting him to give me more of the same kind of quote. Nope. Matt reaches up above the breaker box, pulls out wires that are labelled "old dryer", hooks it up to a breaker - and BOOM - we are in business. FOR FREE!!! Ok, I'm not saying that these guys will fix your broken electrical stuff for free - but what an absolute LEGEND. So of course, I hired them to install an EV outlet for me. Jesus Barajas was my electrican and he was FANTASTIC!! I was impressed with his communication, attention to detail, positive attitude, and he made some suggestions that worked out better for us than what we originally thought we wanted. Brian in sales was a nice guy. At first I thought the job was pretty overpriced compared to other bids, but we went ahead with it because they could fit us in very quickly. By the end of the job I think that Jesus was so thorough and did such good work that it was well worth it. I'd hire them again. My only small gripe, hence 4 stars not 5, was that I started getting invoiced by text before they started the job then. I signed the contract by text but then when I had questions for the office by text, I didn't get a reply. Possibly I was really texting an auto text # that no one sees. Idk. Communication w/ electrician & sales guy great. Communication w/ office, meh. We had several 120 outlets installed in garage, plus a 240 outlet for a future EV, plus 2 lights. Not cheap but happy with end result. If I could do 4.5 starts on yelp that would be my accurate review. UPDATE: Before this had posted, I got a call from Kathy in the office, nicest lady. Apparently they have a text/billing glitch that is intended for big jobs, progress patents for materials etc... She usually tells residential clients to ignore the billing texts that had me annoyed before the job, but since they rushed the job for us so fast ( which we appreciate) she and I never spoke or connected in advance of the work. First, we had them come out to look at the site and give an estimate. Later that day, they requested payment for work that hasn't even been scheduled. I went to EH because of the reviews I read! We had so many issues with EH! Scheduling, wrong items delivered, bad attitude, incomplete work and leaving the site, incorrect work done. We finally had enough and going to have another vendor complete their work. Ana, the support person, was good to deal with and did her best to find solution to the situation she had no control of. I was hopeful, but we are not going business with them again. read more

Going back and forth to schedule an estimate was a hassle, then I was charged twice before they even showed up. It cost me $300 to get the estimate (they claimed it was a service call charge to diagnose my problem, but other electricians came out for free and did the same thing calling it an estimate). The job itself took months. We never would have known that there were so many issues with the work if we hadn't had separate inspectors come and tell us afterwards. The wires were never strapped down in the attic and under the house. The panel had the wrong breakers installed. The permits were never left on site with us. (We didn't know that permits were not supposed to leave the job site in the first place. We were never even given a physical copy.) Whenever we call, the admin answer with "let me ask Robert and I'll get back to you". In the end, more than 1 YEAR after they began work, we had to ask inspectors to figure out what was missing to close the permit. On the plus side, they sent cleaners when we found the interior of the house covered with dust, and the toilet bowl covered in... marks. And they ate our snacks. Another plus: after using my brand new ladder and leaving chunks of material on it they were willing to replace it with a new ladder. read more

Second time I've used EH. One of the few companies who actually answers their phone. Very online focused, from the assessment and estimate to the final payment. Last year I had an EV wall charger installed in the garage and a GFCI outlet for the backyard. This year I needed a wall switch installed in the garage for some outside light fixtures. All of the work was done timely and professionally. The techs seem relatively happy and are professional. The costs maybe a tad bit on the higher side, but the service, efficiency, professionalism, and timely response is worth the cost. Good licensed service technicians are getting harder to find, so most likely I will continue to use Electric Heros. read more

Matt and team accomplished what was seemingly impossible...I called them around noon on a Friday (MLK weekend) when I learned from PGE that we needed a complete 400A panel replacement and Matt went right into action. They had a building permit in hand before end of day (miracle 1), they had located a 400A panel (backordered everywhere until April) and had it in hand Saturday (miracle 2) and thx to a very helpful and responsive PGE lineman we had power turned back on Sunday (miracle 3). 48hrs to solve a major problem that everyone thought would take at least a week exceeded all expectations. We contacted several electricians to give us a quote about our residential electrical job. Electrical Heroes contacted us by phone, and wanted several photos of our electrical panels and surrounding area. Here is their request: "Please provide photos of the following: - Overall view of panel and wall it is fixed to - Close up of panel with meter and breakers visible - Profiles of panel showing both left and right surroundings (2 photos) - Line connection above the panel (usually the roof) - Area below panel (be sure there are no obstacles or brush in location) - Workspace/Gas Clearance (showing unobstructed views of the ground below, 3' in front, 4' to the left & 4' to the right of the panel). Please also provide photo measurement from surface of the panel to the closest part of the dividing fence, photo measurement from gas meter regulator vent opening to the bottom left corner of the panel." The next time that we heard from them we received an email with an INVOICE for the job with an assigned Job Number XXXX and Customer Number XXXX. They requested a down payment of $740.00, They told us that they were working with PG&E on our job. They told us that they were working with the city on our permit. The total invoice would be $8,054.00. We are Senior Citizens and were confused by the billing statement. We had not met anyone from this company or signed a contract. This process seemed very deceptive to us. I would not call this company Electric Heroes. I would call them Electric ANTI-Heroes. We do not recommend them to anyone. read more

I had a bit of an electrical mystery with a fixture and switches receiving no power (and it wasn't the breaker). Once Jesus was here and investigating the issue, I remembered a GFCI outlet hidden in a closet that turned out to be the source of the problem. He installed a new fixture and replaced a switch (though it's wired so that when the switch is down, the power is on, and when it's up, the power is off). AWFUL. BUYER BEWARE. I needed an electric wall heater installed and requested a Saturday. They sent me a text Friday confirming someone would be there Saturday at 9 am. I got there before 9 am and after waiting for an hour I decided to call them. No one answered so I left a message. After another hour or so someone called me and said no one is scheduled to do any jobs this particular Saturday. And that I had to reschedule. I did. I asked for a 1 pm appointment. I called them a day before to confirm my appointment for 1 pm the next day. They said they have me down for a 9 am appointment as they might not be able to finish if they started at 1 pm. That's fine but why didn't you call and tell me?? They said they got busy. Really!?? They showed up this time but brought an electric wall heater that does not have an ON/OFF switch. I asked them why they didn't tell me which wall heater they were going to install before they brought it. No real answer. After the installation, I asked if they could offer a discount for all the trouble they caused me. They refused!! Electric Heroes (name is a bit of a stretch) If you are reading this .. Substandard work that does not comply with California title 24 electric laws. Dangerous fire hazards, EH placed metal lighting directly on metal pipes and ceiling installation. Recessed non-canned lighting was installed but EH charged for installation of canned lighting. Dangerously left a nail touching electrical wires in shower wall and did not fix. Negligence for leaving wires exposed to weather conditions for weeks. Dangerously installed a noncompliant outlet for an outdoors hot tub, when GFIC outlets were required. read more

The best ability is availability, they say. We were flagged for a small violation in our building. For such a small job, most electricians I contacted wouldn't even come out to take a look.
