cannot recommend this place after having tried them three times. the woman who worked on my nails was brisk and tense and at times barked orders at others - not at all relaxing. time management was awful. i get that things can run long but i was left waiting for thirty minutes after having reconfirmed an appointment time just before coming in. once they started i gave a firm time i had to go and suggested lesser services to ensure i left on time . i was reassured repeatedly they could do everything but they ran over another 20 minutes. i was pressured to do things i said i didn't want to do, repeatedly and strongly - i know everyone at this location works hard but they need to listen to customers better, lighten up and remember people are here to relax . read more

Gina or Tina or whatever her name is extremely competent at giving eyebrow waxes... definite plus.... and it's cheap... double plus. The manipedi experience is different, not bad but different. It is not the best, but at this point I (as you can see from all my other nail salon experiences) this place at least uses sanitized packaged tools. While it was great that rendez-vous was open later than most nail places on a Sunday night, they charged me $7 for a bottle of nail polish that accidentally broke. They tried to tell me that a bottle cost $10, which is not the wholesale cost or even the cost in store. Nail polish is the cost of doing business and one bottle is used across a large number of clients, making the cost of nail polish per person in cents. Charging me for a complete bottle of nail polish and only telling me when I went to pay was a terrible way to do business, break rapport, and lose a potential customer. read more

OH MY GOD! How many people need to bring up that Gina cannot do nails before this woman seriously hurts someone and or gives them some type of an infection? She butchered my fingers...making them bleed by using that cuticle scrapey thing and the cuticle clippers...and than had the nerve to tell me its because my skin is "too thin". I get my nails done on a very regular basis and this has never happened to me before...and as I can see I am not alone with being injured during a mani / pedi. My mom and aunt also went to Rendez-Vous where Gina talked them into getting a gel-mani. I don't know much about gel, but for my mom who is totally low maintenance and usually just does a clear coat, Gina totally pressured them into getting it. A matter of a day later their nails are totally peeling off... A few days later (and for weeks to come) their nails look and feel like they got caught in the garbage disposal. They immediately return to have Gina take off the gel but once again she pointed blame on them that there was something wrong with their nails, that "everyone loves gel, what is wrong with you?" I am not sure if it was due to poor application or just a bad product, but reguardless, this place is to blame for my cut up cuticles and my mom and aunt's weakened and brittle nails. DO NOT go here. Oh and on another note, totally not friendly to men. My dad got brave and went in to have his nails taken care of (nothing wrong with a man who takes care of himself, right?), and for a man who is already feeling a bit uncomfortable to get a mani-pedi, he was TOTALLY ignored and left after waiting 10 minutes. Maybe they thought he was waiting for his wife? All I know is they could have atleast acknowledged him. Rude! read more

Worst manicure of my life. Hands down (mind the pun). Twice a month I get my nails done. I am new to the area, so I decided to give the local nail salon a visit. I walk into Rendezvous, and although not the nicest looking nail salon, it looks clean enough and I decide to give it a try. I sit down and start to get a manicure. Right off the bat, the woman (didn't catch her name) starts in about how I need to get a gel manicure. I keep insisting that I don't like gel manicures because it makes my nails very week. Girlfriend would NOT give up. She was relentless! I finally pacified her by insisting, "Yes, I HATE gel manicures". Fast forward to the massage. I swear I'm not one for the long drawn out massage. At times, I think they hurt. However, this lady literally rubbed lotion into my hands all in all I had a 5 second massage on one hand and a 6 second massage on the other. So, my nails are complete and she did an ok job. Time for me to dry my nails! She gives me the dryer than comes over 1 minute later, takes the fan away and gives it to the girl next to me all the while insisting my nails were dry. It was awkward. My nails were not dry. She had to help me pay because oh wait my nails were wet and I left. I will NEVER go back to this place again and highly advise against it. The workers are mean and catty, and for a mediocre mani, I though 12 bucks was a bit much. read more

Rude, rough, limited colors--and they'll walk away in the middle of a mani. I tried hard to like Rendez-Vous Nails since they're conveniently located, but today was the final straw. About halfway through my mani, the woman left me and started adding polish to a newcomer's nails. When asked, the manicurist said the other woman had come before me, although she clearly had not. She left me sitting there while she completed the other woman, then she finished mine. I have frequently had long waits for a manicurist, but this was a first! In addition, I've had trouble finding reasonable colors on my last several visits. They have a limited selection of colors, which is further disguised by leaving empty bottles on the shelf. The colors they do have are out of date: I wonder if they only buy closeouts to get them cheaper. Most of the manicurists are often quite rough, nicking cuticles and fingertips. I don't know where the five-star reviews come from: perhaps that's how you get them to leave other customers to attend to you. read more

Gel manicure - sticky hours later. I told the lady doing the manicure that it was still sticky. She put my hands under the lights again and put more acetone on and told me it wasn't sticky, but it is. Now they are a mess and I have to speaking engagement tomorrow with no time to fix them. Been getting gel mani's for years and many different salons in many different states and never had this problem. Also, their color sticks are a bit of a mess. First color I picked from their color sticks wasn't numbered so they couldn't find it and had to pick another. Was hoping to like this place because recently moved to the neighborhood but I will be going back to salon in my old neighborhood for the time being. read more

The service is fast, Gina is super nice and a perfectionist who makes sure every single hair is plucked or waxed and every nail perfectly polished. Although it's not a swanky joint, it's a nice neighborhood place with very reasonable prices- $10 for a manicure and about $35 for a Brazilian wax. read more

I don't like to pay a lot for waxing, and I don't like to get it done at the regular intervals that they suggest. So, I looked into prices before I went to get my $45 full leg + bikini wax at Rendez-Vous. They were very responsive when I walked in and said it would be about a 5 minute wait. They were probably right about the wait time, and I didn't have an appointment. I don't know if they take appointments. As for the waxing, they use the roll-on stuff, and the woman who did it was good at being quick and relatively painless considering it is waxing. However, I get to the bikini part of the procedure, and she asks me if she should go deeper. I said no, I don't really need to be that hair-free - basic bikini is good for me. She kept trying to convince me, and I reluctantly agreed. At no time in this discussion did she say that going deeper would cost $20 extra. So, she goes deeper, and it hurts, as I guess it should. After I'm hair-free, she writes down the price, $65. I tell her that I thought it was $45, and then she tells me that going deeper is an extra $20. I tell her that I wouldn't have done it if I knew it was going to cost extra. She tells me that it's better to go deeper, and I repeat that I wouldn't have done it if I knew it would cost me more. But, I reluctantly pay for it since she did it. So... I was annoyed that she was pressuring me to get additional service that I didn't really want and then she didn't tell me that it would cost more. I hate that. At some point during the waxing she also suggested that I get a mani-pedi, which I successfully refused. So, there were lots of suggestions for extra services. If you go here, I would know what you want and be assertive about it or ask how much the extra treatment will cost before you agree to it. read more

Standard nail salon, nothing amazing. There was some hair in the pedicure tub and it didn't seem to get cleaned between people, just rinsed. My technician started cutting my finger and didn't stop despite me saying it hurt and finally it started bleeding so I asked her to leave that finger alone. If you're in a bind for a salon try this one but there are definitely better in the city. However I didn't expect much more for the price ($32 for mani and pedi) read more

Great place to go for your nails! These women are amazing! I go every few weeks for a spa-pedicure and brazilian wax, and always leave feeling great about myself! While it may not be the nicest salon you have ever ventured into, it is GREAT value for money. They are very friendly and always do a great job. The massage chairs are very relaxing and if they talk you into the extra 10 minutes for $10 it is worth every penny. Gina runs the place and she always recognizes me and makes sure I am worked on immediately. She does most waxing and while you may feel uncomfortable or insecure about waxing your "woohoo", she is quick and efficient and does a great job. Definitely recommend you check it out! read more

...after a long week of work, all I was looking forward to was a nice and relaxing mani & pedi to kick off my weekend, not too much to ask for? After I picked my color and sat down in the chair, I was ready to turn on the message chair, until I was abruptly stopped by the lady, stating it would be another $2 dollar, which is not by any mean a lot of money, however it was the principle. "So you telling me, I can't use the message chair I am sitting in until I pay you more money??" But okay, I got over it. Since I was getting the same color on my nails and toes, the ladies painting my toes, goes to get another bottle, of what thought to be the same color, and needless to say she ended up painting my toes the wrong color! As I tried to explain this to her, she argued with my in Chinese. Seriously? The color looked horrible!! After trying to argue with me, she took the color I originally chose and painted over the color I didn't want! At this point, my nice and relaxing mani & pedi ended up being a mani & pedi nightmare--so not worth the money or time. The woman also placed the pumice stone on the floor before using it on my feet and didn't know how to operate the nail dryer. And my massage chair was broken. When I asked for the non-spa version, I was told they discontinued that service yesterday. HMMM. I'm pretty sure it was discontinued b/c they had spa chairs open and charge more for that service.
