Well, I just got hang up the phone on my face by a receptionist at Renewal by Anderson at 469-998-9771. A receptionist, the face of the company, should be more careful about how to treat potential customers. It may be that the rest of the crew work so hard for the name of the company, and here it comes just one person and kills a project of 15 window installation in a matter of a second. I wonder what management will think about that. I do usually ask several questions, because I like to be very well informed and also because it tells me so much of who is who. read more

My parents and I both get multiple fliers from them, some hand delivered to my door and some to the mail. The windows on my house are new (energy efficient windows are the GREATEST) but the windows on my parents house are in dire need of replacing. They speak English fluently, but when it comes to legalities I step in to ensure everything is completely clear and transparent (as it should be with contracts, and as I know a lot of children do for their parents, bilingual or not -- you just try to make things easier for them after years of hard work!). So I called Renewal Anderson just to inquire of their most recent flier touting a BOGO discount of 40%. I spoke with Shannon (? said quickly, so cannot be certain) who immediately confirmed the number I was calling from (yikes) along with the address, and I was transparent and advised I was calling on behalf of my parents. She immediately advised she could not set up the consultation unless speaking with them. I reiterated again that I translate, but if that was the case then asked of a bilingual rep. She stated there were none, and again stated she could not speak with me. I asked of putting her on speaker as my mother was with me, to which she stated no. I thought that was odd and began to distrust it as apparently I couldn't even HEAR the conversation??? She kept pushing to speak to my mother to which I asked HOW would she do so if a translator was needed?? My mother or father would have been able to set up the consultation, but after reading the reviews and then knowing you have no bilingual reps AND you don't care if the potential client does or doesn't understand the terms turned me off completely and definitely was no longer the point. Political thoughts aside, this is TEXAS which was previously MEXICO. It's just not smart business to alienate a whole demographic. It came off cold and money hungry, and by the previous reviews and lack of CSR after work was done, they dodged a bullet. Just wish I could stop getting their junk mail now! read more

In Dec 2108, I requested a quote for new windows and a patio door. The representative who was scheduled, called before arriving at the appointment. When he arrived he introduced himself, he was very personable, he took his time to educate me and explain the differences between different company's and Renewal by Anderson. He then took the time to educate me on the products that would be needed for my upgrade. This whole process took about 2 - 3 hours, however the representative was not trying to rush to sign the deal, he explained the different types of payment options, and the benefits for each one. He also explained the wait time between signing the contract and scheduling the instillation would be 6 to 8 weeks as my products would be fabricated for my windows specifically. Six to eight weeks later, I was informed that my products have arrived, and it was time to schedule the installation. The crew that arrived, took the time to survey the products to be replaced, then they asked me what was my preference for the installation, I chose windows first. The crew lead by Jeff, was very quick and knowledgeable about the whole process. They next moved to my oversized patio door. This project ended up being a little harder than the typical install that they are used to. They worked feverishly to do there best, as I had tickets to the Cowboys Playoff game, and had to leave shortly. The crew cleaned everything up, and scheduled the remainer of my install for a few days later, although the install was difficult, Jeff and his crew did an excellent job. Jeff insured that everything was to my liking, he then went over the warranties for the windows and doors. I live in the flight line of Dallas Love Field, and the reduction of noise from the airplane traffic is priceless. I'd like to take this time to say that my experience was top notch. Keep up the good work. This by far is one of the best experiences with a remodel in a long time. read more

I came home one day to find a quote on window, patio, and entry door discounts. To be clear I was not at home, and never requested a quote. It appears they entered my fenced in backyard without permission or an invitation. I believe that is called trespassing. DO NOT EVEN GET A QUOTE FROM ANDERSON. The had bombarded by mail box with mailers and I called them for a quote. This guy comes out and spends four hours with (my wife and I) (required if you want an appointment). This guy leaves a one page quote for about $ 100,000 on a $ 200,000 house. Really? The funny thing is he never asked for the business and I never heard from him again. I called several other window contractors and their quotes were around $ 25,000. All bids were similar in configuration. All were for vinyl replacements. Anderson can't sell $ 75,000 of value. They are a joke. I guess they are betting on you not getting competitive bids. When I called them to schedule a no obligation quote/visit to my place, they asked me atleast 3 times what my wife's name was so the salesperson "can properly address both of us" when they came to visit. I thought it was weird that this was such a big deal to them but I politely said, they can call us Mr and Mrs. They weren't thrilled but agreed. They also specifically said they need no less than 90 mins even though I said I had a new born and it may not be possible to commit 90 mins. Second weird flag. Fast forward, sales guy shows up, and he sees I am by myself and asks if my wife is around. Now my wife, unfortunately fell very ill the previous night and was resting, and I mentioned that but sales person says "we really prefer if both are present". Yeah no shit, sherlock, cannot predict illness, can we? He said he "had to step out to make a call to his office" and I literally overhear him say "they both are not present, he says wife is sick, what do you want me to do". Really, that big a deal? Fast forward 90 mins (yeah!) after the customary demo and comments about how my windows could look like a million bucks with their upgrades and all that was wrong with them, he quotes me $38k for 11 windows! My down payment for the house was $40k... so don't think no matter how awesome they are, I want to spend $38k for the windows. I'd rather have put that money down to reduce my monthly mortgage payments, don't you think? RbA: Ferraris are awesome but not everyone can afford one and hence not everyone has one. We are fine with the Civics or Camrys even if they are not a Ferrari. I don't think I need windows that cost my entire down payment, so it would help if you ballpark it up front for customers so we don't waste your time and our time if its not even in the budget. read more

So if you are looking for the prices of this company they are over at least $8,000 for windows. They will try to sale you on Free Installation but installation is already completely free. The windows take over 25 years to get the 'full' energy savings. You automatically get 5% OFF no matter what for an estimate. The estimate technician can give you more than a 25% discount if you nudge them, they are trying to see how much you are willing to pay. Besides being totally overpriced, there are no needs for windows this expensive. They target people with older homes who want to add value, but that family will never have that value added in their lifetime due to price. The company is built on commission and greed. They try to buy people's reviews and ask them to change them. Be careful with deceitful business practices. read more

After making an appointment to get pricing on replacing 2 windows with a french door, I had to reschedule. They called me at least 5 times PUSHING PUSHING new windows. I explained 5 times, I did not need windows and explained again what I wanted. Every single time they called, they had all incorrect information and tried to sell me windows. I finally told them that I had zero confidence the project would get done correctly, since they refuse to listen to what I want and only want to discuss what makes them the most money. I recently had an representative from Renewal by Andersen come to home and give me an estimation for new windows for my home. Two days later I'm still in shock at the price I was quoted was was $58,000 for 21 windows and that is with discounts, the quote started at $74,000!!! I was in disbelief, the sales rep tried to convince me to only replace the windows at the front of the house (curb appeal) and get other windows later. I was thinking before I spend $58,000 on windows, I will sell my home and go buy a brand new construction hone which would have the windows that I want. We are currently in the process of our window order with Renewal by Andersen. I'm writing this review now so that when everything is done I can update with additional information regarding the rest of our experience. That said, there are a lot of negative reviews here, and while some people just look for the worst in everything I tend to look for the best in a situation. It's true that sales calls and in person consultations are not for everyone. It makes some people nervous, irritable, anxious, and the like, but instead of writing reviews that sound like you let them in just so you could kick them out you could have just saved your breathe and let bygones be bygones. It's easy, don't like people soliciting? Open the door and tell them that you're not interested instead of leading them on. If you're in the market for windows that don't need any investment of your time or money then you might head on over to one of the big box stores and see how well they cater to your needs. So far our experience has been more on the positive scale. The sales rep we had come by(with an appointment) while knowledgable he did have a few moments of being on the pushy side and slightly overbearing, but let's face it this is their job, it's what they do to put food on the table and provide for their families. None of us are at our best everyday at our professions no matter how much we want to pretend that it isn't true. The presentation itself was lengthy, but how else are you supposed to know all about their products in detail? It just comes with the territory, folks. We also had one of the managers call and asked to come by, this was before we had committed to buying anything, and it was quite refreshing to be honest. Whoever had the review that said the financing options are not good, well it must be your credit that was the real issue, because RBA offers 0% financing, but indeed your credit has to be sufficient to qualify, no different than buying a car, etc. Will update more after windows have been installed... UPDATE: Our windows have been installed and we couldn't be happier with the entire process. The windows were actually installed ahead of schedule, which was great. The installers were very cordial, informative, respectful, well mannered, and overall very knowledgeable and friendly. The crew leader took some of our questions and answered them eagerly and fully. He made sure not even one single thing was left out of place or spec of dust anywhere. Very very thorough job and took everything with them, including our old ugly non functioning windows. I just purchased 9 windows and installation from Renewal by Andersen of Dallas, Texas, and my salesman, Russ Carawan, was wonderful. He was not overbearing. He was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and professional. They will be out next week to install. Granted, I hate vinyl windows and have researched many types. If you want a cheap window, go to Lowe's. Renewal by Andersen windows are for those who want a quality product with a great warranty. They have appropriate pricing for higher end windows. I'm going to be able to wash all the windows from inside. That is fabulous. If you haven't actually used the company then I don't think your review is appropriate. There are several reviews complaining about cost. Anderson windows have various price points, and their top-of-the-line series are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I'm also surprised at complaints regarding the presence of both spouses. I guess these complainers were unaware that a house in Texas belongs to both spouses. Windows are one of the most important architectural features of any home, and, given the cost, both spouses should be in complete agreement. My windows in particular, the installation and cleanup were all superb. read more

They don't make companies like this anymore. We had our front windows replaced by Renewal by Anderson. The sales pitch was a little annoying but I wanted the job done once, done right and with the customer service to back it up. The installation was ahead of schedule and went smoothly. We have remodeled much of our home so I have worked with lots of companies and contractors. None have cared for my house and left it as clean as the Renewal by Anderson crew. Upon installation, I discovered the windows did not work with my existing plantation shutters due to a miscommunication between me and my sales person. I am a big believer in giving a company the chance to make things right before jumping into leaving bad reviews. The length to which this company was willing to go to make sure I was happy still blows my mind. I was expecting to be told "tough luck" but the solution Renewal by Anderson proposed not only fixed my problem but exceeded my expectations ten fold. A premium product is not in everyone's price range, but it does not make sense to leave one star reviews for Ferrari dealerships when in the market for a Hyundai. This company makes an incredible product and backs it up with incredible service. read more

We had 13 windows installed in two days. Andrea our sales person was awesome, she made us very comfortable . The install was nothing less than perfect. John L. And his one man crew were professional and respectful of our home. He explained the process before he started and answered any question we had during the install. When the install was completed, he explained the operation of the windows. you couldn't even tell they had been here other than our beautiful windows. They cleaned up everything immaculately. Were they expensive? Yes, but the quality and lifetime warranty is excellent, and they will increase the value of my home. read more

I ordered 7 windows and two of them were very large. They said that they would be there between 8am & 10 am. They showed up and 9am and were done by 2pm. They covered my floors and my furniture, worked non-stop, a supervisor stopped by to see that the work was up to their standards, and it was. Jim headed a team of three men (I was told that the same teams always work together to keep continuity) and they were so quick and so polite. I love my windows and I love the job that they did. I don't understand the negative comments. These windows are worth the price. My bedroom gets the afternoon sun which made it so warm that it was very uncomfortable - this is the first time that is no longer an issue! Jim tutored me on how the windows worked and in case I forgot, he gave me a cheat sheet and said to call if I had any questions. Great experience for me. Angela A. read more

I hate to be redundant, so I will try to make this quick. -Consider this review a zero star review. I truly wish that was an option in this case because one star implies at least a bit of satisfaction... Of which, I have none. -The window quote process was ridiculous. I have no idea why both spouses have to be present for two full hours of time. -Our salesman was not only pushy, but he was pushy and arrogant. Even if the windows were $10, I'm not sure that I would've bought them because of his attitude. -Our window quote for 10 windows was $40,000. Let me repeat that, 10 windows, $40,000. No picture windows either--just regular windows. I literally almost laughed when he said it. And then, I wish that I had read yelp reviews before wasting my time. -If one of the other yelp reviews is true and it is just a standard Andersen 100 series window, I highly recommend that you go on to the Anderson window website and search for a local retailer. We did, and our new window quote was less than $8000. Yes, that is a $32,000 difference. I think I might go buy myself a new car after saving myself that amount of money! read more

Run from these people and don't let them into your house. I just moved to another house in Flower Mound, Texas, which needs new windows and I was bombarded by Renewal by Andersen (RBA) literature, promising "free installation," so I called them. They only make one type of window that is made of a composite wood and fiberglass material. So, I allowed "Gavin," who said he was in male modeling before this, but loves what he does, into the house for a 90 minute song and dance about how great RBA windows are and how terrible other manufacturer's make their windows, which "last a few years" and how the window industry is "not regulated." He made sure he asked me multiple qualification questions to ensure I could afford what was the most expensive quote I could imagine for 40 windows at $81,000, which was $2000 per unit. He went on about how I needed safety glass at multiple locations, and how argon gas was expensive and other manufacturers "saved millions" from not using enough argon between the glass panes. He used a heat lamp at the end to show how effective RBA windows were holding out the high temperatures versus other brands. I didn't do enough homework and should have read the reviews on these people and signed an agreement, which I cancelled 24 hours later after having buyers remorse and coming to my senses. Gavin called me the next day after I had cancelled and asked me if I wanted to talk to his supervisor ("Kelly"), which I agreed to, just to see what he would say. He was arrogant, which didn't surprise me and wouldn't budge on price. I told him what I thought the windows actually cost from manufacture, movement from their build facility to DFW (Gavin said they are the only window manufacturers to move windows upright and not flat), and install, which I figured was about $30,000 at most. So, for what I thought was $30,000 in windows, RBA of Dallas wanted a 170% markup, which is nothing short of amazing. Their sales tactics are deplorable and they aren't, in my opinion, ethical. The manager I talked to was arrogant to the point I felt writing about my experience may help others avoid the same mistake. In my opinion, do your homework and look for reviews on Yelp and other reputable sites to choose good windows and good installers. I'd avoid Renewal by Andersen at all costs. Well, I didn't even make it to the consultation. I got so angry with the initial salesman because he was rude and condescending, but I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. I have purchased Andersen windows in the past, and I liked the quality, but I don't remember the buying process to be like this was turning out to be. Two days before the appointment, another person from Andersen called to confirm the appointment. After a voice message and a text (I was unavailable at the time), my daughter answered her call. The Andersen representative would not take my daughter's word that the appointment was confirmed, and insisted on calling me back. She called back, and when I told her the appointment was on my calendar, she began to tell me their time was important and they only see people by appointment and I needed to be sure I had from 1 to 1 1/2 hours of uninterrupted time available. It was at this time I cancelled the appointment. I have absolutely no desire to work with such rude and condescending people. After reading these reviews, I am so glad I didn't go through with the appointment. I will never do business with this company again. read more

As far back as I can remember Andersen windows have had a reputation for quality so when we decided to replace the upstairs windows in a house we bought last year it seemed logical that we get a quote from Renewal by Andersen. When we called for an estimate we were told that all decision makers were required to be in attendance and that we needed to commit an hour and a half for the consultation. The rep arrived promptly at the appointed time. As I escorted him to the rooms whose windows we wished to replace, I expected him to pull out a piece of paper of some type and start taking measurements, he seemed more intent on pointing out that one of the windows wasn't closing correctly and how much energy we were wasting. Maybe it was just his way of trying to be helpful but that's exactly the reason he was invited to our house. After a couple of minutes we made our way downstairs and he began to set up his presentation. He began to explain the construction process of the windows, the benefits of Andersen windows and why their windows had no equal in the industry. We worked our way through his presentation, chose the features, colors and types of windows we thought would work best for our application. Other than feeling like I was in the middle of a training session to become an Andersen window salesperson, my wife and I sat patiently as he made his pitch. Finally, he started putting together the quote. Imagine my shock when he presented our quote for 8 windows for over $18,000. That was the 45 day quote - the "quotes are good for an entire year" quote was over $21,000. I'm not saying that their windows are not worth the money but as a reasonably intelligent individual it goes against my better judgment to sign on the dotted line before I get competitive quotes and that's where it got weird. He then offered an additional 10% discount to sign immediately. When that didn't work he switched gears and started to push for low interest financing that would only cost us a small amount each month for the next 10 years. At this point we had not even seen a breakdown of the costs. When I insisted that we have an itemized quote he showed me a computer screen on which the smaller windows were more costly than the larger ones and the fixed windows (with no ability to open) were more expensive than the operable ones. As I pushed back he blamed it on the computer program. The only quote that we received was a total price for the job. No itemized products, costs, time estimates, etc.. As I continued to insist that we were going to review other offerings he became somewhat indignant that anyone could believe that there was any other company making a quality window was simply impossible. There was a noticeable level of irritation on his part every time our reaction didn't match his expected response. After 2 1/2 long hours we finally wrapped up the visit. If they're such great windows why do their sales associates feel they need to brow beat potential customers? I don't know about other consumers but I've never spent 20k on a purchase without doing my research and never, never, never on the spur of the moment. Hopefully Renewal by Andersen reads these posts and is open to focusing the value they bring. That's all that reasonable consumers need and want. read more

While we knew going in upfront that Andersen product was a premium product we were unpleasantly surprised at the $79k estimate for the 21 windows in our house. We felt the presentation, although informative, we excessively long. Figuring out near the end on the presentation that the inside reveal would not accommodate our current 2" blinds in any window was a complete hard stop for us. My overall impression is that this product is extremely over priced regardless of it many positive attributes read more

I Spent 686.25 on 2 sandstone storm door with nickel finish handles on 4/30/16. Already front door has lost pin bump in jamb bracket due to wind. When I called to ask for replacement pin, was told that is not covered. WHAT? How is that possible, they wanted to charge me for little replacement pin. Also Key/dead bolt stopped working, stuck in unlock position, They did agree that is covered item. Why so much problems with door that is meant to be a STORM DOOR. It cant withstand wind, and cant keep you safe to lock intruders out. Why are we spending so much money on these doors, if I had known I would have bought different brand. A brand that sends replacement parts as needed, but better yet make a quality door that does not need replacement parts. read more
