Our chainsaw was temporarily out of commission, but the trees that fell on our property did not respect that. This we needed to rent a chainsaw for a day to cut up some rather thin trunks which were no more than 8 to ten inches in diameter. Rentals Unlimited were close so that's where we decided to rent from. First of all no instructions on how to start or operate the saw. No biggie that's what YouTube is for. Second issue was that the chain was blunt. Try as much as I could, the saw wouldn't cut. It would cause friction on the woods that caused it to smoke and a lovely burning smell of wood. But it couldn't cut through the ten inches of wood. When I returned the saw and explained the dull chain, they couldn't give a rats ass. No apology, no offer of a replacement. Plenty of competitors to choose from, which I will be doing so in future. Oh and our chainsaw cut through those trunks like a hot knife through butter. Shoddy equipment! read more

This place is awful. Rented a chainsaw, got it home and it didn't work. Returned it the next day and they verified that it was unusable, but only offered to refund $10 of a nearly $90 rental fee. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Rentals Unlimited did a great job for me. I have rented from them twice in the last month. First a trailer to haul a playground, then a super strong backpack blower, Stihl BR600. It was BEAST! The equipment was perfectly good. It was given to me in a timely fashion, and everything was done for us even better than the way we expected. The staff went way above and beyond to answer questions, give advice, even if it meant not overselling me. For that they earned a lifelong customer. I have rented a log splitter, stump grinder, full size jack hammer, and plumbing snake from here in the past three years. The log splitter was great, the stump grinder was even better, so no complaints there. However, the jack hammer they gave us had some kind of fault in it and it wouldn't engage correctly. We live a decent hike from Clarksburg so it was inconvenient to have to bring it back and get a replacement. At first they kinda seemed like they didn't believe it was faulty, and maybe I was using it incorrectly. However they tested it in front of me and sure enough it didn't work. I got it early morning on a Saturday with the plan to use a full day rental and return the same day. Due to the inconvenience (since I didn't get a replacement until early afternoon Saturday) they let me keep it until Monday morning for a one day rental. The snake rental was by far the worst experience. I got the more expensive "electric" one but it was so old and worn out that it didn't work at all. It was all tangled in the spool and wouldn't fully come out or retract. We even called the store for advice. Also it was absolutely filthy; this rental was a total nightmare. We ended up returning it, paying the full rental, and cutting our losses. read more
