    Pork belly

Rent's Due BBQ is a North Bend hidden gem! Harrison is great, and we love all of his offerings. He is open Saturdays at 12pm until he sells out (check out his social media for updates) in his yard behind Safeway. This is a grab and go type of place vs sit down. Show up right at opening to avoid missing out. The ribs, for example, can go quickly when folks come and buy them in bulk at opening. Everything we have ordered is delicious, and pricing is very reasonable. The pork belly is one of our favorites. This is one of our favorites food spots in town.

Rents Due BBQ is a true local favorite. While their hours are limited, they're known to sell out fast. Harrison, the owner, is super friendly and always makes you feel welcome. Parking is roadside, with a handful of tables and chairs if you choose to dine in, plus takeout options available. Be sure to follow their Facebook page for updates; they often sell out within just a couple of hours after opening. The menu features brisket, chicken legs, ribs, pork belly jibbles, sausage, and more, with changes posted online regularly. They also sell their signature sauces. Payment is cash or Venmo. If in the area around the time of opening, stop by and grab some delicious grub!

The chicken had a fantastic mesquite seasoning, paired perfectly with a pickled jalapeño aioli that added just the right balance of heat and tang. The bun was fresh and held everything together without getting soggy, which made the whole sandwich even better. I went with the mac and cheese bowl, and it was pure comfort food done right. The rich, creamy cheese sauce over large shell noodles was excellent on its own, but adding brisket took it to another level. The cornbread crumbles and potato chips added great texture, and a drizzle of Buckshot Honey BBQ sauce tied everything together. Every bite was loaded with flavor. What really stood out was the owner working behind the bar. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely engaged with guests, constantly checking in and making conversation. You can tell he takes real pride in his restaurant, and it shows in both the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommend Buckshot Honey. We're already looking forward to coming back and working our way through the rest of the menu. And hopefully that chicken sandwich special makes its way onto the regular menu soon.

I first scooped into the baked beans and immediately said to my wife 'these beans are good.' Flavor packed. The ribs could fall apart more but they were juicy and tender. Rhodie's features several types of sandwiches, a few platter options and a couple of combos. You can also order meats by the pound with the choices being beef brisket, chicken, ribs, pulled pork and hot links. We decided to share the SMOKIN' COMBO ($55) which included ribs, two quarter chickens and two hotlinks with our choice of two large sides. There are three options for sauce: mild, spicy and extra spicy. We went with the spicy sauce after the employee described it as being "middle of the road" in terms of heat. After we had placed our order at the counter, the employee brought over our food in less than 10 minutes, which was surprisingly quick. They must have all the meat prepared, so they just cut the pieces, slather on the sauce and scoop up the sides. When I say they slathered on the sauce, I am not exaggerating - just see the photo. All the meat came on a single plate and the sauce completely covered everything, with plenty of it also pooled at the bottom. Had we known, we would have requested the sauce on the side. It had a moderate kick of spice, but it was tolerable and not the kind that numbs your tastebuds. I loved the chicken which included two drumsticks and two thighs. The meat was perfect - succulent, juicy and fell off the bone. The ribs were very meaty and although the menu said the combo would come with four ribs, they actually put six on our plate; four large ones and two smaller ones. They had a nice smokiness to them and most of the meat was tender, with just some small spots of dryness. Finally, the hotlinks were plump and hefty with a good snap to the casing. Flavor-wise, I thought they were okay, but had they not come as part of the combo, I probably wouldn't have ordered them separately. We selected the coleslaw and baked beans as our sides, which they had scooped into plastic containers. Even though the coleslaw was basic with just cabbage and dressing, I really enjoyed it. The cabbage was super crunchy and fresh while the dressing was relatively light with an addicting seasoning. It was just right. The baked beans were average...sweet with some chunks of bacon cooked into the sauce. We managed to polish off the entire combo and were happily full by the end of it. When you have a carnivorous calling, it's worth stopping by Rhodie's!

I'd rather there be more melon than lettuce in a halumi and melon salad. Everything is $20 a plate or more.

There is a giant RV wrapped in Seahawk livery, pretty cool. Hubs had the Old Stove IPA and I had my customary Mothers Day Bloody Mary, both were yummy. My Bacon Swiss Mushroom Burger was amazing paired with super fresh tasting giant onion rings. Our son-in-law had the Philly Cheesesteak upgraded with prime rib, he loved it but it could have had more meat, and then they mistakenly charged us double for his order. The homemade chili had a little spicy kick to it. We also all enjoyed the Spicy Mac N Cheese Bites. We will keep this place on the radar for future drives home.
