After a hike in Snoqualmie, the three of us were hungry and craving some BBQ. When we arrived around 1:00P on a Monday, the restaurant was pretty quiet except for a couple other customers that came in over the course of an hour. Rhodie's features several types of sandwiches, a few platter options and a couple of combos. You can also order meats by the pound with the choices being beef brisket, chicken, ribs, pulled pork and hot links. We decided to share the SMOKIN' COMBO ($55) which included ribs, two quarter chickens and two hotlinks with our choice of two large sides. There are three options for sauce: mild, spicy and extra spicy. We went with the spicy sauce after the employee described it as being "middle of the road" in terms of heat. After we had placed our order at the counter, the employee brought over our food in less than 10 minutes, which was surprisingly quick. They must have all the meat prepared, so they just cut the pieces, slather on the sauce and scoop up the sides. When I say they slathered on the sauce, I am not exaggerating - just see the photo. All the meat came on a single plate and the sauce completely covered everything, with plenty of it also pooled at the bottom. Had we known, we would have requested the sauce on the side. It had a moderate kick of spice, but it was tolerable and not the kind that numbs your tastebuds. I loved the chicken which included two drumsticks and two thighs. The meat was perfect - succulent, juicy and fell off the bone. The ribs were very meaty and although the menu said the combo would come with four ribs, they actually put six on our plate; four large ones and two smaller ones. They had a nice smokiness to them and most of the meat was tender, with just some small spots of dryness. Finally, the hotlinks were plump and hefty with a good snap to the casing. Flavor-wise, I thought they were okay, but had they not come as part of the combo, I probably wouldn't have ordered them separately. We selected the coleslaw and baked beans as our sides, which they had scooped into plastic containers. Even though the coleslaw was basic with just cabbage and dressing, I really enjoyed it. The cabbage was super crunchy and fresh while the dressing was relatively light with an addicting seasoning. It was just right. The baked beans were average...sweet with some chunks of bacon cooked into the sauce. We managed to polish off the entire combo and were happily full by the end of it. I am quite surprised at how delicious this little unassuming bbq shop is! I ordered a classic pulled pork sandwich with spicy bbq sauce. And oh my! That bread is so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And sandwiched between it is succulent pulled pork smothered in a spicy and flavorful sauce. I'm not even that big of a barbecue sauce person but this stuff I would put on about anything! I also ordered a nice big pickle. I love pickles and these were positively perfect. The service was decent, nothing that personable but it was later and I'm sure the people working were pretty tired. The inside of the shop itself is fine, not quite a place you would want to come and hang out but it's just fine for a nice bite. I will definitely be back for another yummy sandwich! read more

Usually it's the ribs mild sauce with the Brunswick Stew but today went a different route. I chose the brisket sandwich mild with the stew and for dessert, the banana pudding. The guy working was so nice and even though they didn't have a full serving of ribs he hooked me up with the pulled pork and what they had left of the ribs - no extra charge! We came to Snoqualmie falls because the weather was so nice this past weekend, and after hiking around the area wanted to eat a little barbecue for dinner. There's parking along the side and they do have a bathroom for customers. We got the chicken special with beans and cole slaw, the pulled brisket with Mac and cheese and potato salad, and a hot link. The brisket was okay. While the flavor was good, the fact that it was pulled and lean meant it was a bit harder to chew/eat through. It was a bit closer to eating jerky than what I'm used to with brisket (but then again I come from texas and am more than a little spoiled when it comes to brisket). The chicken, though, was amazing. The best way I could describe it was that it was somewhere between rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes in texture-- the chicken was SO tender and yummy. The hot link was spicy but excellent. The sauces (we got mild and spicy) were great. I'd say that the spicy sauce was maybe spicier than I expected. The sides were also good. The beans were the only ones I would skip- they didn't taste like it was made in house because the flavor was incredibly different than what they had for everything else (and maybe closer to canned beans taste). The mac and cheese was great- I really liked how light in flavor it was and how the fresh jalapeño could get through as well. The potato salad was standard but good. The coleslaw was excellent- tasting more like a reasonably-dressed salad rather than smothered in mayo. We noticed this place might be a Carolina BBQ place, so we feel like we might've missed out on the pork. I might come back for it, and maybe some sandwiches. read more

We stopped in here after a hike in the area, and we were pretty hungry. The helpful counter dude answered our questions, and then all three members of our party had a Trail Boss combo, which is a bbq sandwich on a toasted baguette with a side and a drink. Daughter had chicken, and wife and I each had spicy pork. They were large and tasty sammies. The side of beans was excellent, as the bacon in it was well cooked, the consistency was like chili, and the seasoning was dope. The spicy mac n cheese was ok--solid flavor, but a little runny. The sides were served in styrofoam, which is an automatic deduction. I liked the rock and country mix on the airwaves, and that they put NFL on the TV. We'll visit again. read more

This is 4.5 rating!!!!!! During the week as we were going strawberry picking we saw this place and so we decided to check them out during the weekend. They are open for dine in with 3 tables inside. We got one table for 4. We decided to grab 1lb of brisket and the combo of chicken, ribs and sausage and an extra side of potato salad . It took probably about 5 minutes for our orders to be ready and holy smokes it was a lot of food!!! 1lb brisket - we couldn't even finish this but it was so tender and flavorful. It's not sliced but almost like pulled pork style which some people may or may not like. Combo- they gave us a lot of extras :) it was supposed to come with 4 ribs (gave 7), 2 chicken quarter (gave us 3-4) and 2 sausage links. So come with 2 large sides which we got Mac and cheese, Cole slaw in addition to the potato salad. The ribs was gigantic! Each ribs was probably 2-3x bigger than a normal size rib! They were on the dryer and bland side so you definitely want sauce on it. Speaking of sauce, we asked if the sauce can be on the side and they gave us the sauce in a huge container (the ones you put a small side in). The other meats was also good and tender. The sides were definitely tastier than most places, the Cole slaw was refreshing and not drench in sauce, the Mac and cheese was the same and the postato salad was grainy but flavorful. We had 4 hungry people who came after a 10 mile run and we couldn't even finish it!!! Definitely very generous portion, will definitely be back! read more

I have been here twice now and both times I had great experiences! The 1st time was with my friend Andrew, who was in from out of town, and 2nd time was this past weekend with Cody and friends. Great place to stop on the way home from an i-90 hike! I have been telling Cody about this spot since the 1st time I tried it and I was so excited to bring him finally! We ordered: - chicken and rib plate with mac and cheese, and bbq beans - pulled pork sandwich - beef sandwich 3 of them got sandwiches, and they all picked up the sandwich and were like "Woah this thing is heavy!" meaning, lots of meat loaded onto it! I remember thinking the same thing 1st time around with Andrew when we both got sandwiches too. This time I got the rib and chicken plate and it was delicious! Went and picked up the half rack rib dinner and it was delicious as usual. The ribs were tender and almost fall off the bone, with that delicious extra spicy sauce. So damn good. And their jalapeño Mac n cheese and baked beans are awesome as well. The Mac has a great cheesiness mixed with the pepper jack, and the beans are so nice and earthy.
