I think the repair work they did was great. But I'm never going to go back because the guy at the 'main gate', the driveway/entrance way is a screamer... If they need to control the flow of cars coming in and out of the shop, then they should get a better system going instead of an auto mechanic bouncer. I was actually scared of this guy. Took my 2012 Kia Optima in this Sunday afternoon to get 3 bent rims trued up and my oil change done. Came here on a recommendation of a friend as well as a myriad of positive reviews on Yelp to support it. First off.. I'm not a "rim guy".. Everything on my car is stock and I just wanted to get the wobble out of my wheels after taking a beating on the streets of nyc this winter. I hate the fact that my car came with 18" rims as they get bent way faster than 17's or 16's.. If you are like me and abhor the thought of replacing a bent wheel for $350 a pop.. you need to come here. Here are the pros: -While you wait work (They had me out of there in an hour and half) -Best price I could find in the tri state area to repair rims -Incredibly well staffed (Ton of guys working the shop with like 7-8 bays) -Super friendly (They really appreciate the customer and deliver fantastic customer service) I absolutely will be returning in the future.. and knowing that they are around I rest easier knowing my game plan if I nail another pothole. read more

Went for an oil change and tire rotation because I'm driving my car from New York to Texas. I picked them because of the good reviews and i was nervous because I had been burned by other car repair places in the past. I liked that they have responded to almost every low review in yelp, too. It was a fair price, a good experience and very fast and friendly. My single complaint was that they forgot to reset my oil gauge. After checking the dipstick and seeing that it was changed, I found out how to reset the gauge and did it myself. Good experience with this shop overall. read more

Came in to do a routine car inspection on the fly. Service was fast, they staff was great and they gave me straightforward information about my car, as well as recommendations for things that I need to have fixed (with no pressure to get the work done right away). Being from New Jersey, where out inspection stations are free government regulated centers, finding one attached to a repair shop in my area usually means you'll get ripped off (since they have an incentive to fail you to take in the dough). But I was pleasantly surprised with these guys and felt very comfortable with their no-nonsense assessment of my car. Would recommend them! read more

Late review I stop by this place on 7/27/15. I had to bent rims that cause my car to vibrate above 80 mph. I guess the guy I spoke to and show me around is the owner. He show me the process of how they fix the rim and remount and balance my tires. It was early in the morning 2 rims where fix within 1 1/2 hrs. not bad I thought it would take longer. It cost me about $229 with tax for both rims to be fix and mounted and balance. It took me almost 3 weeks to write this review reason I only drive on the weekend and plus you can't really go above 80 mph in the city. So far I made it to above 80 mph for a few seconds and no vibrations. I need a road trip to really test out the work they did but so far so good I'm happy with the work. It's better than buying a new rim for $425 each well worth the money spent here. read more

I went to this place over the summer and forgot to write a review. I wanted to make sure I did, because this place was great! I had just bought a very-used car that obviously needed a bit of work. I took it here after seeing the great reviews. I showed up here and they were able to help me out immediately. They checked it out, made a list of their recommended repairs, and one of the guys actually walked me around the car to show and clearly explain the issues. (Can't remember his name, unfortunately.) The amount came out a bit high (well, high for my budget... the prices for everything were actually reasonable) so I was feeling nervous about committing to anything right then and there. I ended up just having them fix a broken headlight and change the oil, and wanted to research the other repairs. (This is my first time owning a car in NY, so I don't have a good frame of reference for prices here, and wanted to shop around.) They were totally cool, didn't pressure me at all, and told me to come back if I wanted the other repairs. After doing some internet research and calling around to other mechanics, it turned out that their prices were totally fair by New York standards. They aren't rock-bottom, but they're not expensive either. The only repair I ended up going elsewhere for because I found it significantly cheaper, was a windshield replacement. (If you need glass work, you can usually get it cheaper by going to a dedicated glass shop. This is pretty normal.) I ended up taking the car back to Repairs on Wheels for new tires, a new battery, replacement belts, an engine tune-up, and inspection. The car needs the front shocks replaced... The guys were up front with me that they recommended this, but I could probably get away with not doing it for a little while. I opted to wait on it, since it wasn't in my budget at the time. They charged me exactly what they'd quoted the first time around, no scams or surprises. All the work mentioned above took about 2 hours. It's now been about 4 months, and the car is running perfectly with no issues. I'd definitely recommend this place, especially if you're not super savvy about cars. They're honest, no pressure, and will walk you through and explain everything. If you're one of those people who are really knowledgable about car repairs, you MIGHT be able to find a cheaper place and be ok taking it there. But, if you want to know you're getting mechanics who are trustworthy and will do quality work, it's worth it to pay the few extra dollars and go here. read more

What can I say about this place? It's a diamond! I found this place online and with the great reviews, I decided to take my chances. When I pulled up to RoW, I was greeted by the owner Russal. I was able to be seen right away because it was after 7pm; which was a blessing because I was able to go afterwork. Where can you find a repair shop that accommodates you after 7pm... Initially, I went to RoW because once i hit over 50mph on the highway my car would shake and I was told by the service dept at my car dealership that one of my wheel rims was bent. RoW specializes in fixing bent rims along with all of the other services they offer. Anyway, when RoW checked all four rims..come to find out...none of them were bent. They offered to do balancing for me at a reasonable price, but I explained to Russal that I had already done balancing the week prior. He could not believe that was the case and proceed to show me why... While my car was on the lift, Russal showed me what a lousy job my car dealership had done. Some wheels still had the original weights on the rim and some had both original and new weights; and what make matters worst is that I paid for the balancing of my tires assuming that old weights would be removed and new weights added in order to evaluate why my car was shaking. smh... Russal had his awesome employees re-balance my tires and little did we know..because one tire would not take the balancing...after removing it from the rim entirely, the tire was threaded completely on the inside. I was able to stand next to my vehicle with Russal while this was going on so I saw first hand how my tire looked (dealership never allow you to see anything while they're working on your vehicle).. I was able to purchase a new tire right away and waalaa..Problem Solved! Next day I headed right back to the dealership for a little one-on-one with pictures in hand! Russal could of charged me for unnecessary rim repair plus new tires, which would of been even more money than what I paid..but he was honest and solved my problem! Let me sum this up... Excellent immediate service. They determine problem, show it to customer, give options, do the necessary job and make happy. I came to check one tire that got low. They quickly found the nail causing the problem, but they also lifted my car, inspected the bottom, showed me that 2 rims and the respective tires (other than one that got low) were badly, badly damaged. Ruslan and Mark described the issue and and what they may cause. They did not pressure, did not insist on anything - just gave me options to select from. And by the way unlike most of other service centers, they have a big section in the shop with the special machinery to repair, paint, etc. wheels/rims. We were pleased to find Repairs On Wheels--when the engine light came on during our drive to NYC, I prayed to be led to an honest mechanic, and came here based on the reviews on Yelp. When we drove in at 7am, we we immediately assured that our car would be examined on the lift. The waiting room was clean, comfortable, and quiet (though dingy). The mechanic reset the engine light, explained the problem that triggered it, and advised us that it was not an emergency, and that we could drive back to Boston with no problem, and to look into it only if it comes back on. Wow! I'm so blown away! My headlights went out around 11:50pm at night in the rain so I really needed it fixed. I was desperate and had no idea a mechanic shop would be open so late. I brought my wheel back to Alex on Wedsnesday (7/16). Alex had replied back to my original review and said he'd take care of the wheel again free of charge. This time around, I was quite specific with Alex with what I wanted. I was told that the wheel wouldn't be 100% factory brand new, which is understandable. I had dropped the wheel off around 6PM and said to take his time with it. I got a call around 3:30PM the next day saying it was ready. I picked it up today, on Friday. Alex walked me to the back where my wheel was and I was quite happy with how it turned out. The finish on the paint reminds me of how my wheels looked when I first got the car. It has that high gloss depth to it. Also, the wheel barrel is silver again. I mounted it back on the car when I got home, set it to 35psi, and took it for a quick test drive. Everything's good. All in all, Alex is a real good guy. He takes care of his clients. read more

Found this store on Yelp review for my vehicle state inspection. Called them before going there; as the ad says, it opens for 24 hours; I went there on Sunday afternoon and there are many customers waiting already. The staff were friendly and my car was taken care of after a short waiting; I waited in the air-conditioned lounge and watched the FIFA soccer championship game. The inspection did not take too long; and they charged 37 dollars as it showed on the wall. I am satisfied with the service they provided. I've taken my Mercedes to them several times, and they always found the problem and fixed it at lightning speed. And most importantly, they excel in the qualities that are essential in any good mechanic: integrity and trustworthiness. When they installed a malfunctioning rack and pinion (a new one from a parts supplier that turned out to be faulty) in my car, they didn't deny responsibility or blame some other problem (since I wouldn't have known the difference), they replaced it free of charge and covered the cost of a new wheel alignment. ROW are also experts on Mercedes. They fixed problems that mechanics who specialize in German cars couldn't diagnose. Repairs on Wheels is the BEST car repair experience I've ever had, hands down. I actually WANT to go back to them when I need new tires or a check; not I HAVE to go back to them because there is still something wrong with my car. I bought a used car in July of last year. I never had any problems with it until I started getting a cyllander misfire code and the check engine light came on about a year ago. At the time I was living Upstate and I took it to several mechanics. They changed plugs, messed with wires, talked about coils, but no-one seemed to really solve the problem because the light would always come back on after a few weeks or a month with the same code. A month ago I hit a deer going 65 on a rural highway, crushed the front-end. The only tow place open at that time of night was Sam's Service in Liberty NY so I was forced to go with them. My insurance adjuster went to their shop yada... yada... yada... I picked up the car two weeks later and drove away. Not 45 minutes later the TRANSMISSION FAILED! I called up Sam's to say WTF?! and they convinced me to let them come up get the car and tow it back because insurance would probably cover it. That was a huge mistake because it didn't and I had to pay out of pocket for overpriced parts, labor and tow. My feelings about auto repair shops were pretty scarred after that experience. I tell you the back-story because I am sick and tired of being jerked around by dishonest and half-a**ing auto shops. I don't know why it seems like every freaking place is trying to take you for a buck and fix only one part of a problem so that you have to come back. That is not the way to build a dedicated customer base. REPAIRS ON WHEELS IS WHAT AN AUTO SHOP EXPERIENCE SHOULD BE!! I took my car in to get the persistent check engine light problem fixed so that I could pass inspection. Right away they greeted me with REAL customer service. I explained what the problem was and what I thought needed to be done and they actually LISTENED rather than look at me like I was an a**hole. Right away they diagnosed the problem, fuel injector, something no one else had said. They ordered the part and except for waiting on the part to arrive I was in and out with expedited service.
