Finally stopped by Repose Coffee and tried the Matcha Cloud Latte and the Strawberry Matcha. Both drinks were really smooth, creamy, and refreshing. The Strawberry Matcha was well balanced--the strawberry added a nice sweetness without completely covering up the matcha. My only complaint is that I wish the matcha flavor was a little stronger in both drinks. If you're someone who prefers a more bold, earthy matcha, these lean on the lighter side. That said, they were still enjoyable and easy to drink. The café itself has a cozy, relaxing atmosphere, and the drinks came out quickly. Made a stop at Repose Coffee in Placentia and it did not disappoint. We got the Cream Top Matcha and the Strawberry Matcha, and both were excellent. Stopped by for the first time at this café located next to the Ralphs plaza on Rose Drive and was pleasantly surprised! The café is clean, spacious, and has a relaxing atmosphere. I ordered the Dirty Earl Grey Latte with cold foam, and it was excellent. They mainly do drinks here, coffee or teas, but they also offer two paninis: turkey pesto or tomato caprese. I ordered an unsweetened matcha latte iced, and they offer alternative milks upon request. The bar is easily seen behind the glass so you can watch the staff make your order. Overall, the pricing is on par with most places in the area. My order took a while to come out but it's hand whisked when I ordered. I wish it was a little stronger since the flavor of the matcha didn't really come through compared to the milk. Also, the matcha isn't mixed well enough since it's separating quickly. I have to stir it again every time I want to drink. They have loyalty cards but do not offer them right away. I really really love the honey oat latte and come back all the time to get it. I did try their ganache mocha but it was a little too sweet for me. I wasn't a fan of the everything croissant with cream cheese as it just tasted weird and wasn't warmed up completely; but since they're a coffee shop I'll rank them based on their drinks. Wanted to find a good coffee place I was waiting for our daughter's bridal shower to end. Dads don't go to bridal showers by the way. Came in here and got what I think I remember to be the Bischoff latte and it was very tasty. Not too sweet cream at the top with a bishop cookie floating on top. Repose Coffee is a newer speciality coffee shop located in the Placentia area. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. I stopped by for a matcha and yap sesh with the homies. Inside, they have a modern and minimalist setup with a good amount of seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different coffee, matcha, and tea drinks to choose from. They also have a new hojicha menu as well. I opted for the Double Hojicha Latte and it was a bit grainy but had a nice roasty flavor profile without being too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed the calm and chill vibes they got going on here. I feel very indifferent to Repose. As a fellow barista, I get that EVERY coffee shop is gonna have a different vibe, but Repose just wasn't hitting that mark for me. With tip, my drink came out to 9.40. Oof. That's quite steep. Yes, I got the cold foam matcha, but I felt that the price wasn't on par with the quality. Again, this is coming from a barista who works at a place who also sells matcha. The vibes were very quiet. The staff seemed nice, and I managed to have a little chatter with one of the baristas, but it overall felt like something was missing here. I think there's a lot of opportunity for growth, though, and reading the other reviews, it seems mutual. Wanted to try a new coffee shop so came in this morning. This plaza has plenty of parking and the space itself is very clean, minimalist, with plenty of seating. I decided to try a hot PSL (their syrup is made in house) & the barista mentioned it was on the sweeter side so I asked for it less sweet. Upon my first sip, I thought it tasted delicious (I could taste the espresso and the PSL spices) but wasn't sweet enough so I asked for an extra pump, which they were happy to accommodate.
