Best burger hands down I have had in a long time. Small dining area and a simple menu but awesome food, service and beer!

(Note: This was from a visit in Nov. 2017) We wanted to like this place. We think downtown needs more cool places to eat. But unfortunately, this is not that place. It looks great. Like a converted house. However, we were seated by a closed window and it was freezing. Very uncomfortable. The waitress served us lukewarm water. No ice. We had to ask her next time she came by for the ice (it was not busy) and for some reason it was brought separate in another glass. ..why should you need to ask for ice? I asked for a coke. "We don't have coke" ...."oh ok, Pepsi is fine then"........ We only have root beer".why would they not have coke.........it's a restaurant with a bar? The meal: I'm all for experimenting and offering new meal combinations, but the food seemed pretentious and different for difference sake. Example: Tacos with sweet potato? I had the 'twice fried chicken burger'. I am not exaggerating when I say that it came on a bun with four thin slices of small pickle. NOTHING else. No lettuce, tomatoes, onion, not even relish. So it was dry and boring. The side was lukewarm, like it had been sitting there a while. The service. Our server disappeared. I guess she went home, but didn't bother informing us. So we are waiting. and waiting ...and waiting....we were going to have a look at the deserts...but spent so much time waiting for our waitress that we thought we will just pay up and go. Whilst waiting, I watched as the blond lady behind the bar totally ignored the meals that were put on the ready counter for her to pic up (about 5 feet away). She was more interested in telling her story (that we could all hear) about the time she was pulled over, to a couple of her friends at the bar. Meanwhile the meals got colder and colder. The bell was rung a second time. Nothing. In the end the cook had to literally take the orders off the shelf and walk round from the kitchen and hand them to her. Meanwhile....still no waitress.....in the end we had to get up and asked the bar lady for our bill. We will not be back read more

I don't even know where to begin. The server did the best she could. Restaurant was busy and she was the lone server. We may try again but not for a while. Duck confit was dry, over cooked, and.unedible - a salt bomb. No one would eat it. I could not eat it. Hamburger? Tasted like old beef, dry and over cooked. Monte Cristo dry, over cooked and very scanty filling. No one at the table would eat it. Summer salad was excellent. Kale salad over dressed and just edible. Arugula salad okay but not bright nor flavorful. Kids corn dog left uneaten. Kids chicken plate somewhat tender. We are so disappointed. Nothing like their Spokane restaurant. read more

The food, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding! Common and unique menu items created in a refreshing way and served up under the pines out on the open deck. What's not to love about that? Despite it being very busy, the one waitress Republic had working was able to seat us, bring drinks, take our order and get food to us in a reasonable amount of time. We tipped her especially good for busting ass and making sure we were taken care of. It wasn't clear why they had only one waitress on duty during the busy weekend evening we went. Taking a customer service risk like that like isn't something I would do. It's already staining customer reviews and ratings. We WILL go back again! read more

Fantastic location in Post Falls! Must haves are the Duck Carnitas, Pulled Pork, Buffalo Popcorn Cauliflower and the Monte Cristo (which is my favorite). Beers are good and the Manager was super nice and hospitable. read more

I love this new place in Post Falls. I've only been for lunch but the pulled pork sandwich was the best I have had Anywhere. Perfect bun and slightly spicy. Stopped in for a solo dinner in late summer and sat at the bar. Had it to myself for most of my meal as people preferred the deck. This provided a great opportunity for people watching both patrons and waitstaff. My coworkers could learn something from the staff's excellent communication skills. Had a fried chicken sandwich Korean style with crispy sweet potato "salad". I love a Korean dressed sandwich, this one had a nice balance of salty-sour-sweet where many fusion places end up too far on one side of the triangle. The crispy potato "salad" is, in fact, fried sweet potato bits dressed with cheese and vinaigrette and is a revelation. I'm not sure why more places aren't doing something like it. Also got the brownie for dessert, but ended up wishing I got the huckleberry donuts instead. The brownie came with ice cream, caramel and hot fudge and was very rich. I've dined solo lots of places and sometimes it can be a bit awkward but I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. It helped that they were playing my favorite Spotify playlist and had an excellent selection of both beer and cocktails. Highly recommended. read more

The Twice Fried Chicken Sandwich (Korean style) was magnificent! Honestly, it was fantastic. Sadly, I didn't catch the servers name because he definitely deserves a shout out as well. He did a fantastic job. I will have to catch it next time, as I will be going back for sure. read more

We've been here several times and are never disappointed. It's great for a date night or family meal. Our teenage boys beg to go back for the burgers and fries. The sweet potato salad is my favorite but we've had several items and it's always great! This place is a needed gem in Post Falls! read more

This was by FAR our best meal we had during our recent trip to Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls. You definitely should try the Belly Snacks appetizer, and go easy on the spicy sauce! It is yummy, but WOW what a kick! I also had the fried chicken sandwich, Korean style...deeelish. Washed down with a white sangria (perfectly sweet) for me and a beer that was highly rated by my husband. :) Service was excellent and the place has a really great look. I am in total agreement with the other reviewed, Kathleen S. This was a disappointment across all fronts. The actual location is cool. Historic house, nice charm...we had high hopes. The server was AWFUL. The place is small. She was the only one working besides the one guy in the kitchen. This actually would be fine for any server who knows what they are doing. It wasn't full so there really was no excuse for the lack of attention or detail. Brought out waters with no ice. When asked for a cup of ice it was brought out in a plastic to-go cup. We asked if you had a kids menu and was told yes. Asked for it THREE times and still never got. When she came to take our order she rattled off what she could remember off the kids menu. We had to decide then and there. We ordered a burger, duck carnitas tacos, and pulled pork sandwich. The "aioli" was not aioli but instead just normal, good old fashioned mayo. Gross. My daughter ordered her pulled pork with the crispy fried jalapenos on the side and no onions. Guess what came out? Yup everything she asked not to be on the sandwich was on it. This is a server issue. Not a kitchen one. She either didn't communicate it correctly or she didn't double check the orders she is bringing to the table. In this instance, I would say it was more than likely both. The way the duck tacos are described on the menu sounded like we couldn't go wrong. It was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent on food. $18!!! Yes, you read that right. It was the smallest piece of duck (not even a good piece of the duck) that was clearly not cooked in any of those things, with three pathetic looking corn tortillas rolled up and old looking, with some corn and some mole (which wasn't even real mole). I literally looked at it in shock. I should have taken a photo. It was gross. The burger was mediocre at best and the pork sandwich uneventful. The person that wrote the menu did a great job describing some great dishes but sadly the kitchen doesn't deliver. We sat around forever waiting for our waitress to bring the bill when it was more than obvious in this small space (and that she passed us multiple times) that we were done and ready. We won't return. We get a much better meal at Crafted for the same price. Better food, better portions. Maybe they are trying to open too many restaurants? Maybe stick with what you are good at (Wandering Table) and stop trying to do so much. It's a bummer because the location couldn't be better and more adorable. read more

I realize it's a new restaurant but the service was just bad. When we walked to our table and it was not even cleaned off from the prior customer. Then it took over 20min to have a waitress acknowledged us and offer us menus. One high point was that the appetizers we actually pretty good! The burger was burned and the bun was cold... and the beer was not cold. I had high hopes for this restaurant because it was close to our home and the menu that they posted on Facebook looked pretty promising. This is my favorite place to go in Post Falls! The food is delicious, the service is attentive and friendly, and it's located in a converted old house- so cool! Try the republic burger or the spinach and beet salad with salmon. They also have a bar with a great selection of rotating draft beers. Two thumbs up for this place :). read more

You guys. This place sets itself apart from a town filled with dive bars. The beer selection, menu, and atmosphere are a haven to us, a family from the Portland area. We know our pubs and this is one of the good ones! The waitstaff was kind and accommodating to our five little kids. The food was a creative take on classic pub fare. And the atmosphere was perfect! I've been here quite a few times and really loved the space and the food! The last time I went though I had a really bad experience, I reached out to them after it happened & got no response, making it even worse. To make a long story short, I was there on a Friday night around 8, it wasn't too busy. I ordered an appetizer and a couple salads and besides initially taking our order the waitress basically ignored us for the next thirty minutes, was no where in sight and we never got any food. Not sure how/why we waited TOO long to try this little gem! Went here as a party of 9 during happy hour for my husband's birthday. There was not ONE person at the table who wasn't pleased with their food! Ordered 3 appetizers, the repub fries, avocado nachos, and sea salted pretzel.. all of them DELISH! everyone ordered something different for their meals, and there was not one complaint! The sweet potato salad is a MUST! Our server, Garrett, did a fantastic job of keeping up with our large group. All of orders came out perfect also! ONLY complaint, dare I even call it that... Republic was a great spot to enjoy an afternoon happy hour. They have a variety of beer on tap and a good wine selection. The nachos were delicious, and unique with the use of homemade potato chips as base. The food was delicious, we had the Twice Fried Chicken Korean Style and the Republic Burger and both were SO good! I got the fries which were really good, but the warm crispy potato salad is what I will choose from here on out! The outdoor seating set the mood perfectly for a fun Friday night in the sun. Our first time trying Republic! Darling place, cheery waitress however it is tiny so be prepared to have no elbow room! Food was delicious however we waited at least 45 min. Definitely need to work on service or additional servers! Menu was fun and original-including the drink menu! Also happy to see gluten free items! Sangria was yummy! Location and vibe for this place is nice. We went on a Tuesday around 5pm and there weren't many people there. The happy hours prices are very low, and the roasted avocado nachos had a great flavor (the one thing that would make me come back) and the pretzels were standard pub fare. Our entrees were just okay, and the burger my friend ordered was terrible. He ate a few bites. We could have said something but we just wanted to leave. The burger tasted very old like they shouldn't have served it. We should have probably said something to the server but the chef and server should have told us this might make you sick. read more
