Our street only has 14 units, the truck driver almost miss service every two months. I also called to miss service today, They suppose to pick up yesterday-Monday. On-line information said that Christmas tree pick-up would occur on the day of my scheduled pick-up. As expected my tree was in the gutter for 3 days. I called Republic Services and after being on hold for at least 45 minutes each time, the customer service rep assured me that my Xmas tree would be picked up. I called them twice and still no service. I had to cut my tree and put it in the green bin by myself. I would have appreciated being able to dispose of it in the gutter as I am a 60+ woman who felt like I had no recourse but to saw my 7 foot tree in pieces by myself. It is unfortunate that I have to resort to leaving a bad yelp review. I will try to call customer service again to report poor service by whoever was suppose to do the pick-up on my route and hope this will be noted on their job performance! read more

The recycling truck didn't come to our whole neighbourhood. Everyone still have their full recycling bins outside on the street now and have for the past couple of days. The garbage and compost trucks both came on the scheduled day and picked up everything. What happened to recycling? A lot of people are going to have doubled the amount of recycling by the next scheduled pickup. Where are they suppose to put that?! read more

I'd like to give a better review since I've not had any terrible issues until today, and I'm also contacting the Better Business Bureau about Mardie Mailo, Customer Service Lead Representative - and the disgusting way she treated me today. I'm a disabled person who was blamed by her, for this company not picking up my trash. Even with emails showing the errors were internal, I... the consumer was blamed. As such, my HOA is trying to fine me. I've emailed Jennifer Redondo and hope to have my issue fixed. However, with this being my first terrible experience in many years - Mardie (a lead) was the ultimate in disrespect. I can't believe the service that I just received. I submitted a new service request for garbage using their web site. In the next day, I received an email with a dozen follow-up questions. First, many questions did not seem important and why they do not ask on the web site when I submit the request. The email has a phone number to call for any question. so I decided to call them instead of waiting for the email response again. When the customer support answers the phone, she asked me to hold but then I got immediately cut off. I call back and the phone is answered by the same person again. I said I just call and it was cut off. She did not care and ask what I wanted. I said I made a new service request and ask her whether she needed the reference ID for the new service request. She said no and asked again why I call. I said I want to respond to the email questions on the new service request. She said then just answer them by email. Don't want to repeat the detail anymore. But within 2 minutes, I knew this is a dead end and the attitude was so bad that I did not want to continue the conversation. I asked to transfer me to a supervisor. She said the supervisor was not available and did I want the voice mail. I said no and thinking she probably cut me off again. I asked whether she was the only customer support I can talk to. Thank goodness! She said she can transfer me to another one. The second customer support was very helpful and tell me that their email system and the phone system was completely separated. So I need a new request if I want to do it over the phone. Even the second customer support was very helpful. I decided to give the lowest rating for my experience. I had not seen a customer support with a much worse attitude before. The way the company allows such a person to be a staff demonstrates extremely bad judgement and monitoring on the company side. The driver (for landfill) dropped the cart in the middle of driveway and blocked the driveway. Asked your driver place the cart back to the original spot. This happened to almost every house in the neighborhood and happened all the time. The lids were wide open after the driver collects the garbage. read more

WORSTEST service everywhere they are! It is not right that a city contracts with such a company that provides very bad service and customers cannot use other companies. We never ordered a smaller garbage bin at anytime. Last Friday they switched our 4 yard to a 2 yard garbage bin without our consent. Our manager and I called to get our 4 yard garbage bin back. We are a strip center. Our tenants and customers need the 4 yard garbage bin. Allan the customer representative said that they will take the 2 yard away today and return a 4 yard garbage bin back today Friday. I checked this evening and they did not. We did nothing wrong. We always paid our bills on time. No one can trust Republic. Their service has always been unreliable. This is very bad. Trouble makers! WORSTEST service everywhere they are! Very lazy. Sometimes they arrive on time. Sometimes they skip a scheduled day. Sometimes they skip a scheduled week. Inconsistent. So we call to have them make a pickup as scheduled. We called for years and years and talk to them to commit to better service but they Fail to the highest degree. They are never consistent in everything they are suppose to do. But they do Fail consistently. We can call till the cows come over the hills but Republic isnt going to make it. Here on Yelp they act like they will answer our complaints and do something about it. Just because its Yelp here. Worthless. Nothing. They havent done anything. They still Fail and wont commit to consistent and better service. They deserve NO stars. Never follow through on what they say their going to do. They've miss picking up my garbage 3 days in row now. Didn't pickup it on Friday on it's normal pickup day. Call and they said Saturday by 5:00 PM. Never show up on Saturday. Call again on Saturday and they said Monday now. Never show on Monday! It's Tuesday and I still have a can full garbage out in front of the house. All I can hope for now they don't miss again on Friday on regular pickup day. It's not like this is the 1st time they've done this. They seem to do this regularly every two to three months now for a year. If this keeps up, plan to call the city manager about it. Also talk to city council members. Their the ones that make the contract for the city and Republic. Like to see the city get a another provider right now. read more

Republic Services is the worst garbage company I've experienced ever. In my recycling bin I had cardboard and because it was slightly opened the trash guys threw all my cardboard on my front lawn. Just threw it! How disrespectful is that? Secondly, each time I call the garbage company during business hours I am on hold on average of a minimum 15 mins (no exaggeration), what type of customer service is that? It is impossible to get anyone on the phone. I called to setup my account and was put on hold for more than 35 minutes and still couldnt get a representative to help. So i decided to go the online way. After about a week someone responded. It took more than 2 weeks to get my account setup. Now i got my first bill and tried to setup the account online and the website has been giving me error about "Sorry - something unexpected happened and this page is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." This is not temporary. I have been redirected to this error for the last 2 days (day or night). read more

This garbage company is a Garbage company. It does not even deserve one star. They missed my recycling bin and I had to call them again and again and again to request a make up service. Called them 3 times and each time I was told the service would come the next day and guess what? They were lying, 3 days later, my recycling bin was still outside full of trash. The person who answered the call was very indifferent and impatient without even an apology for their poor service and the inconvenience their mistake caused me. These drivers are the worst! They leave garbage strewn all down the street after pick-up. I've watched them and they see what they are doing but don't seem to care. They also don't pick up boxes that have been collapsed and put next to the cans. Once again, mine were left on the street. After 3 years with this company with no complaints, someone there decided they did not want my business anymore. 3 rate hikes within a year. $72- $81.68- $93.00. My next door neighbor uses Republic also. See was paying around $103, so I'm sure another hike was coming any day. Then the monthly $4.68 rip off recycle surcharge started. I was told because some people don't wash out their recyclables. I DO! 2 calls to customer service to see if they were interested in retaining me. They said they could give me $2 off a month. Obviously they were not interested. The Customer Service gal was sweet and obviously embarrassed to represent the company she works for. Especially when she could not justify the $30 PER CAN Pick up fee. (4 cans= $120 ! That is NOWHERE in my paperwork with this company. Luckily I have other options in San Diego County. I used them. Our family has been having a challenging week - one of our children suffered a concussion on Wednesday, yesterday (Thursday) was full of assessments and doctors, missed work and school. Friday is our garbage day, but in the chaos of the medical crisis this week, we failed to put out the garbage can to the curb. Our concussed son was home on the couch and observed our driver get out of the truck, come up to our house, drag the full can from the side of our house, out to the truck and empty the garbage for us. Above and beyond the call of duty for this Republic Services worker and I sent Customer Service an email so the driver can be recognized. read more

This is not a review of service. I had a run in with one of their trucks this morning. I was waiting to turn onto Warm Springs Blvd. The garbage truck was waiting to make a left onto Whitney Pl. My light turned green and as I was preparing to turn the garbage truck turned in front of me missing my car by inches. Yes you read right, the truck ran the red light. The truck number was 1223. It happened at 7 am on Thursday 11/8. I am just warning drivers to watch out for this driver. Hopefully this guy's boss sees this review and he gets reprimanded. I was driving a fiat and he could have injured me if I had not stopped. The driver should lose his license. read more

Auto bill pay doesn't work for this company. Be aware! We are on auto pay. Because our credit card number was changed, I had to setup a new credit card on 8/13. System shows that any payment made after 8/13 will be on auto paid with new card. Yet when I got the bill in November, it showed past due. This is because Republic Services used old credit card on 8/17 and got declined payment. This has happened twice during last 18 months to us. Each time showing past due our bill. Customer service rep explained to me that any new setup of credit card will go active only in next billing cycle. But that's not what system says. This should be simple to fix. Republic Services need to do it quickly rather than billing incorrectly to their honest paying customers. read more

If I could have given them zero stars I would have! I was unhappy with Advanced Disposal. They were inconsistent. Some of my neighbors used Republic Services. I called and had them answer my questions. I said I wanted to switch & they quickly signed me up. That was the first & last thing Republic did quickly. The person who signed me up said I would have my containers the following Tuesday. Tuesday comes & goes & no containers. Several calls to a so called customer support & finally someone told the truth. No containers until after June 30th. But they would pick up my trash on June 22 if I just put the bags at the end of the driveway. But then Republic came & drove right by them. It took another 3-4 calls until they got someone who would pick up my trash. The following Monday I get a call from Annie in customer service in Winder GA that they are cancelling my street - effective immediately. I ask to speak to her supervisor & he said no - not immediately - they will pick up this week but not after June 30th. Guess what - they drive right by my trash again. I call "Annie" who doesn't answer her phone or return calls. I then look Republic up on Consumer Affairs & see they have 75 negative (1star) reviews & 2 positive (5 star) reviews. This company does not honor their commitments & the customer service is deplorable. Thought you should all know. Update - I called "Annie" back and left a message that if my trash was not picked up by 5PM I was going to call and make a report to GA Consumer Affairs. About 4:30PM the Republic truck did come back and pick up my trash. I NEVER got a call back from the Customer Support Supervisor nor Annie or Annie's Manager. read more

So we signed up for waste and recycling services for our nails salon. The process took sometimes to complete and I had to make several phone calls and emails...also there were some confusion about the bin sizes..but that was it. Every time I called, there were always someone there to pick up. Both recycling and waste people were very nice. Every time there's a delay for pickup, they always call me ahead to let me know. The driver picks up the cans and then drops them wherever they feel like; usually blocking the driveway, in the middle of the street, or knocked over in the flower bed. I've called the supervisor for our neighborhood and his reply was that there was nothing he could do because they were Union workers. Poor management and poor workmanship. Awful service. I went to Republic's website to try to get a dumpster rental for some construction work in my home. Their 'blue dumpster' group never called me back despite several attempts during regular business hours. I tried their form submission page, and email. No reply. There isn't a number to contact, or I'd try that. I'm curious how they manage to stay in business at all with that kind of service. Ironically, their website states in several places tha someone will "reply within 2 hours" of any submission. Simply not true. read more

Lousiest service of all. Strikes all the time, misses pickup, wouldn't pickup a lot of bulk item for my 3 free pickup a year. I'm not talking about construction waste, just a TV. Told me if it is over 75 lbs won't pick up. They want to charge arms and legs for fluorescent lamps disposal. Trust me it will cost you more than the lamp to properly trash. Terrible Service for our business Last week they indicated to us that our can was locked so they can not get to it. So I called Monday, they will send someone over to get the can waited all day and nothing happened. Tuesday come, I called again. The next service person That answered than said that who ever I spoke with should have said to you if they can not pick up on Monday than they will come on Tuesday. I said "Are you sure they are coming today (Tuesday)?" The CSR said yes and that they will pick up also on your regular day Wednesday too. Guess What!! no one showed. Instead this is what was said. Sorry it was blocked by a towed truck, or the gate was locked. Or something what ever excuse they have to say. Fine. Wednesday pick up day come and guess what. Again no pick up. This time excuse was a tow truck was blocking it. How many time can I be blocked for service. Bad part was, if They have to send someone again than we have to be charge for the service. I explain why charge when you guys did not pick up the first time. And when Republic Garbage CSR say someone will come by they are actually trying to divert all our conversation to the pleasing of the ear prolong as possible until their regular date of the following week. But failed on that, too. don't believe a word they say anymore. Every time I call they have some excuse why it was not picked up. Be very aware if you start complaining you will know your cans will never be pick up. If they did their job than this would not have happened. CSR , I am sorry you have the hard job of getting the loud complaints and the person should hear all this complaint is the driver. How would they like it when their own garbage is not picked up. Probably they call who ever is on their route and they go get it with no extra charge. If someone blocks you in than everyone in that route will not get serviced. LOL! This was so funny! I'm so glad I read the reviews. I just bought my house, the previous owner had Republic and I thought it might be easy if I keep the bin. So, I emailed them, thinking it would be simple, but in the response, it seemed pretty automated, so to make things easier, I figured I'd call. WOW! Talk about blowing someone's mind. I said the exact same thing and the poor lady just couldn't comprehend what I was saying. She probably repeated it back 3 times. Then she put me on hold for a few minutes. I'm assuming to gather her thoughts. Well, as she telling me the price, it's about $18 a month, and I think, I should look at the reviews. THANK GOD! I look and I ask about having to pay to pick up the trash cans when I end my service. She says yes. Then I tell her about the terrible reviews and she gets quiet. I tell her I'm going to call around. I wish there was a way to give no stars! Today is 3/13 and the last day our garbage was picked up was February 20th! I called on 2/28 when I was notified by the building owner and called to see what was up. Apparently the dumpster was old and collapsed under the weight of the garbage. I was told at that time we would receive a new one on March 4th. All was good! It was then brought to my attention today that the garbage and dumpster situation was not resolved. I again called "customer service" and was told we were getting a new dumpster on the 18, almost a month after it was first reported by the truck driver! When asking why it wasn't delivered, "customer service" said no one called to report the problem. I did! I even listened to the driver's message to dispatch describing the problem! She then turned the tables and said it was my fault for not calling them within 24 hours to let them know that the dumpster wasn't delivered. Really, that's MY responsibility??? (Keep in mind that I'm the finance person, NOT the building owner or janitor)! Seriously, how can you blame your customers for YOU not performing your jobs or service? Unacceptable on so many levels, you as a company should be incredibly embarrassed by the lack of service and support. read more
