The layout of this shop is amazing! It's modern art deco, with lots of natural curving shapes. The seating is ample and comfortable, with indoor seating, patio seating, and sidewalk seating. Staff were also great! They were welcoming and friendly and they got us through a line that was stretched out the door in under 10 minutes. Be careful raising in line or opening the bathroom door, it opens directly into the line area! Unfortunately, I don't have good things to say about the coffee. I got the caramel ube latte and, while the first sip packs a strong flavor, the rest of the coffee was just kind of watery. For all the rich flavors that supposedly went into the drink, I mostly just tasted kinda sweet watery milk. I didn't get the ube flavor, or even the espresso flavor! This location has loads of seating scattered within indoors and outdoors. The interior is really energetic and welcoming. It's definitely good for hangouts or studying. There might be a long lines but it moves quick. Although accessing the restroom would involve passing through the waiting line. The staff were nice and helpful. The service was quick, got my drink with little wait. Which is great since there's not as much room to stand and wait. I got the lavender and honey matcha latte. It was really good! Their pastries.... BOMB!! My fam wanted some pastries after lunch and went here for a quick look and we were so glad we stopped by!! One, they had a pastry happy hour giving 50% off!! This is a really cute cafe with a ton of seating inside&outside. I came during lunch time on a Tuesday and I was able to find a table for my friend and I. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Lots of parking in this area, free garages and of course street parking. I ordered an iced vanilla latte- to be honest I was not a fan. I also ordered a tuna salad panini and it was delicious! Very fresh & came with a side salad. My friend ordered the egg toast and she really enjoyed it. We finished off lunch with a glass of prosecco which was really good. Stopped by Republik Coffee Burbank around 5 PM. The vibe is genuinely nice -- good indoor and outdoor seating, pleasant atmosphere. I'd actually tried their Pasadena location before and the coffee was great, so I had decent expectations. The coffee here was solid too, but afterward my stomach was pretty off, which I've never experienced at other coffee shops -- might be the milk they use. On top of that, by 5 PM the pastries looked like they'd been sitting out all day, and breakfast was long gone, so food-wise there was nothing worth getting. I ordered the sea salt hazelnut cappuccino iced, so my cup was not full to the top. It also tasted nothing like the description. It tasted like a caramel macchiato with some graham cracker pieces in it. It tasted fine as a caramel macchiato, but that's not what I ordered. I was so bummed, especially if you're paying $7 plus tip for a less than full drink. That's crazy. I got the blueberry danish, and it was okay. People in the reviews really love their pastries, but I was underwhelmed because the danish was fully soft everywhere. I was hoping for a bit of a crisp on the pastry edges, but no. Luckily, it wasn't too sweet, and they were generous with the blueberry part compared to the raspberry filling which looked not as full. One Yelp reviewer said to ask them to toast it twice. The service was good and conversational. I was debating between the purple caramel latte and black vanilla latte and the cashier recommended black vanilla latte. The taste of the Black Vanilla Latte was sweet, a bit of the roasted/charcoal taste came through and the coffee. I would say the Black Vanilla Latte was an ok choice, but would like more of a vanilla taste. However, in my opinion, I don't think it's worth $7. I'm intrigued about the Purple Caramel Latte and their pastries, so I'll see next time how it tastes. Tip: There is a restroom in this small cafe and lounge areas in the front and small seating inside. Zero vegan options in the bakery case is unacceptable in 2025. There's a matcha cake that is the only thing in the case with a label that says "veg" so I assumed it was vegan and got one. I ate it and was later told it had eggs in it. I asked why there was a sign by it that says "veg" and was told because it's vegetarian. Then WHY are the other baked good in the case that are vegetarian NOT also displayed with that same label? So many things in the case are vegetarian but are not labeled that way. Make it make sense. I've come to this coffee shop in the past and all the times I've gone I've enjoyed the drinks but hated the customer service. I'm leaving this review because my sister was curious on trying their drinks. We came in around 5:40pm Friday evening (6/26) and ordered a seasonal matcha drink. We were surprised to see there was no one in line for a Friday evening. Everyone sitting down already had drinks in hand so we expected the drink to be out fairly quickly. The time I was charged was 5:47pm, my drink wasn't "ready" until 6:11pm. I'd like to reiterate the fact there was no one ordering ahead of us. As someone who's been in the food business I try and be understanding and patient when it's comes to orders. However, my sister's a barista and she pointed out our drink was sitting in a prep cup for 15 minutes while the barista was quite literally dancing around the kitchen doing side work. The other barista was also doing tasks around the cafe, not on bar. Three other people came in 15 minutes after we did and got their drinks within 5 minutes or less, and received their before me. The moment I stood up to ask about my drink to the cashier, the barista took a quick glance at me and finished the rest of the drink within a few seconds. I wish she could've done that twenty minutes prior. In short I don't usually come to this cafe, every time I return I remember why. read more

Great little cafe if you find yourself in Burbank. We started out with a Black Vanilla latte and a Purple Caramel latte. Both were delicious, but the Black Vanilla latte was a little too sweet for me. The Purple Caramel latte had a nice Ube (purple yam) flavor. We also ordered the Chilaquilles. It had enough sauce that didn't drown the tortilla chips, and the eggs and avocado made this dish very delicious. The cafe serves breakfast, brunch and lunch. The staff is super friendly and helpful. One bathroom and free wifi, but it is a very busy and bustling place, so not sure if it'd be an ideal workspace for some. Very lively spot! The cardamom oat latte was absolutely delicious!! The cardamom spice flavor is very forward but not overpowering - it reminds me of a chai spice blend with a stronger cardamom flavor. You can still taste the espresso and the drink itself is not sweet. If you like chai/dirty chai, I would highly recommend! I would've preferred a slightly stronger espresso taste, but it's basically perfect. The lavender and oat latte was also stunning! It has a slightly sweet honey/floral lavender taste that isn't too strong/soapy like lavender can be. Espresso flavor was still there as well, and the only thing I would've changed would be to have a slightly stronger coffee taste (personal preference). Highly recommend this latte!! The chocolate chip cookie was perfectly sweet, buttery, and had plenty of chocolate chips/chunks. The bottom and edges were nice and crisp, while the middle was soft. My wife and I have been big Republik fans since it opened in Burbank. We bring friends and family all the time. So I'm not just a random hater. That said: This morning I had an unforgivably awful service experience. I ordered at the counter and got a number for table service. After waiting a very long time -- 20+ minutes? -- I approached the counter again. The cashier vaguely pointed in the direction of the coffee bar. I saw our drinks had been sitting there the whole time -- and one of the drinks was wrong. The barista muttered something about being "backed up." The cashier approached for a different reason and I pointed out he'd taken the order wrong. "Okay," he shrugged and walked away. The barista remade the order and I walked back to the table. Another 5-10 minutes passed, and a server approached with food I'd ordered -- it was cold and had obviously been sitting out awhile. I told the server about it and he merely smiled and said, "Oh. Wow. Okay, sorry." Here's what I'm sorry about: Republik charges premium prices. I understand if service slips due to high volume. But If I'm gonna spend $50 on a breakfast plate and a couple drinks, I expect at least a bit of effort to make things right. Not a shrug and a response that could be summed up as: "Whoa. The asada breakfast burrito was also just fine- a bit on the pricey side for its size. Service was quick and good. Enough seating and line moves quickly. Overall a bit disappointing but maybe I didn't get the right things. Also it was hard to see the menu from the line. There's no menu posted on the walls. Menus are kept at the cashier but you can't really go in and grab it. So I was rushing to order once I got to the front. The space is small so you may not get a seat depending on the time of day you go. I went around 6 on a Thursday which is already closer to their close time and it was still pretty busy. But super cute in there it's kind of in the corner so make sure you look for the teacup on the business in front. My drink of the month has been ube lattes. They have them and almond or oat milk for substitutes. I suggest trying it if you like sweeter drinks. I will probably be back to try some of the baked goods. And of course another latte! read more
