0!! This is a horrible company!! VERY short staffed!! No help from leaders, only dictatorship. There is NO training, but you get yelled at for not doing your job. The pay is non competitive & you don't start getting benefits or PTO till after 6 months. If you're salary & take a day, your pay will be docked. My son was a client of rescare for about18 months . During that time the workers changed often. No stability! The psychiatrist my son saw found that rescare/educare / bright springs had been skipping doses of meds and doubling up on one psych meds. They had no boundaries and let him walk away multiple times only to call the police to find him. Daily fights both in the home and at day hab. Several times my son was taken to the hospital for stitches. Staff that told my son about their sexuality and that white people would become slaves. Very unprofessional. They were days they would take the clients to Dayhab before 8 and not return with them to the home until 10 at night because they are "short staffed". I would not recommend this company to anyone! They abuse neglect and extort the clients. HIPPA is a joke as well. They told me things of the other clients that shouldn't have been discussed! Please don't take your loved one here! read more

Please don't work for this cheap ass Company, they want you to do work that require very heavy lifting, getting fecal matter all on ones clothing , combative clients that overpower care givers and the list goes on with much more issues, all for low ass pay, fast food chains pay much more than them. False ass allegations by Co worker and sorry excuses of investigators all for 7.00 dollars an hour ,8.00 if your attendance is perfect and back down to 7.00 if you're late or call off .They need to close this place down. read more

I wouldn't recommend this home health company to my worst enemy. The pay is horrendous and the way Staff is treated by the administrators who work in the office and at the work shop is ridiculous. If I could I would have given them a 0 rating. This company need to be closed down along with those sorry ass investigators who don't know s*** about investigating incidents , I'm glad they let me go, because I am now at an excellent paying job and l"m not wanting for nothing I hope they get closed down. My developmentally disabled sister was under this company's care for about 2 years. While they periodically had competent staff in the house caring for her, there was a lack in consistency of her care and there was a lot of turnover. Additionally she was assaulted by one of her roommates while she was sleeping in her bed in the middle of the night. While I don't blame the staff person for the assault, I do find fault in the way the administration handled the matter after the fact. We had to pay for her ambulance bill. ResCare attempted to have this person moved back into the same house with my sister shortly after the assault. It was at this point we moved her to a different assisted living facility. Would not recommend this company at all!!! read more

This facility is to be avoided. At all costs. After what they allowed to happen, we would have given them NO STARS if the Yelp system allowed it. My family now has to scramble to find a replacement, and I hope the wound does not suffer for it in the meantime. Their personnel left my family hanging, and so I am relating what happened and you may decide for yourselves. We've had 3 experiences with ResCare involving post-op care of surgery to an existing amputation done several years ago. ResCare sent one person in particular, not a new-hire, but their "Director of Nursing". She showed up post-op (right after surgery) to start care of an existing wound. Wouldn't you think that she would have known how to maintain fully sterile conditions when dealing with a fresh wound bed on an amputation? She didn't. To wit: 1.) She DID wash her hands, but then totally neglected to use sterile gloves before touching... the wound itself! Her rationale? It delayed the procedure when dealing with the dressing. (Seriously???) 2.) She used gauze pads that came out of an already open wrapper. She didn't understand not to do this either. When we asked why this wasn't a consideration, she said she routinely did not bring these items. 3.) The swabs that she used were also NOT out of a sterile, single-use only container. Again, she said she did not bring these items with her. Why not???? 4.) The surgical dressing that she applied directly ON THE OPEN WOUND, she casually left on the sofa cover where my family sits (!), while she cut smaller pieces of this (formerly) sterile material to apply INTO the wound bed. 5.) Despite her insistence that she had done (her words) "Hundreds of wound care of this type", we still had to explain the best way to complete the procedure, prefacing to her that our attending surgeon and physician is a STICKLER for sterility of the wound to make sure no bacteria are introduced while it is open. The first time she was here, she took around three hours to complete some paperwork and to do what ended up being non-sterile wound care that the surgeon's nurse did first in about 10-15 minutes. And (unlike the ResCare 'Director') in a completely clean and sterile fashion. The second time, she took about 50 minutes, and we communicated to her some requests that our physician would make of any HomeCare nurse that cared for this wound. (Remember: this wound is on a diabetic patient -- slow healing at best!) The third time she visited, we asked her if she had brought the sterile items the doctor had stipulated; instead of simply saying yes or no, she just announced that she was leaving without administering wound care, and said she did not wish to be 'scolded again by any physician or patient.' SCOLDED???? We never raised our voices, we certainly never scolded her for anything, despite the fact that these mistakes she made were things that any 1st year hospital nurse would never do. Quite the contrary, we never even mentioned anything the first time. We just sat there and watched in horror. We were simply asked by our physician about these details, and then did as asked and forwarded his valid (WE thought) concerns back to this 'director of nursing'. Despite her company's questionnaire in which we detailed this information, this nurse ignored the slow history of healing of this wound. It had been slow to heal even with great sterile care the FIRST time around, years ago. When it finally did, we were relieved. Now that the physician had to reopen it years later, he simply wanted to make sure it was dealt with correctly. No one scolded this person. What are we here? Seven years old? This 'nurse' was clearly having had a bad day, coupled with some less than ideal practices which had become her habits. When these were calmly and politely brought to her attention, she showed her truly thin skin, copped a rather unprofessional attitude, and refused to treat the wound, leaving us hanging for time-sensitive wound care. Despite her incompetence, we further politely asked her how we could have even more delicately addressed these baseline concerns of unsterile wound care with her(!!), she refused to respond. She had already decided to leave us hanging before discussing it with the patient or any of his family. Very unprofessional. My husband has gone through far too much with this wound to put up with this kind of behavior. The first rule a nurse should accept is that wound care is always done with the utmost care for cleanliness and sterility. If she's worth her pay at all, she doesn't become emotionally unreasonable and she CERTAINLY doesn't refuse wound care because she "doesn't wish to be scolded". Her reason for doing so? She "won't tolerate it". Well..... I guess she REALLY showed us!!! And now..... we've told everyone. We are going to find a different agency and better. None could be any worse. Avoid ResCare!!! Worst place to work! I waited 2 weeks for my background to come back and also told them i had a felony, the woman there said it was nothing to worry about that it was over 10 years ago. I did all my training and even left my last job to go here. After i finally got my background back they said they couldnt hire me cause my background was too new? Waste of fucking time! The Wild Oak residence is in my neighborhood. Most of the people in the neighborhood are neighborly, considerate, and kind. However, the employees of ResCare/EduCare are an entirely different scenario. Many nights we hear loud music, yelling, or loud horns honking. Daily, these employees' cars RACE down our streets, paying no heed to any speed limit, children playing, or pedestrians. I would warn anyone considering putting a loved one in the care of this corporation. ResCare/EduCare does not screen its employees well. These are careless people with no consideration for those around them. Noise, music blaring, speeding: we are going on four years near this group home and I have seen too much. It is truly an awful corporation with abysmal requirements for its workers. Keep your loved ones away from the care of ResCare/EduCare. Our neighborhood has been affected negatively, not because of the clients, but because of ResCare/EduCare's haste in hiring and appallingly low standards for its employees. read more
