I stayed here the night before a cruise. It reminded me of a condo complex. I forgot to take pics of the room. The room was large and had a fully stocked kitchen. I took lots of pics of the complimentary breakfast, which is served daily from 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. They served eggs, breakfast sandwiches, sausage patties, yogurt, scones, fresh oranges, muffins, cereal, bagels and English muffins, oatmeal, coffee, and three types of juices. We really enjoyed the breakfast. I would stay here again if sailing out of San Pedro. read more

This hotel was a bit noisy. When we first arrived, it looked like there was a party forming of about 50 people and some were even blasting their car stereo in the parking lot, not a good look. At about 930pm, we called the front desk and they said they are trying to get the party to wrap up, which to their credit, they did! So I do think they do a good job with that here, and there was even a security guard checking the cars to make sure the cars were actually guests. Luckily, it seemed like the partygoers were not spending the night here, or maybe just a few of them had rooms. Despite this, later at night, I could hear people talking outside in the corridors as they went to and from their cars. This is just normal for the layout of the place I guess. The room itself was quite nice and clean as well as up to date, with a full kitchen. The bathroom was very clean and the air conditioning worked well. Some family members swam in the pool and used the hot tub and they said it was nice and they felt safe. The included free breakfast was decent, not quite as good as Homewood Suites, but about the same. This location is very close to the Long Beach airport (about 2 miles) so quite convenient for traveling. I believe they even have a park and fly program where you can leave your car in the parking lot here while traveling. So I would probably stay here again, but am not rushing to do so. read more

We have stayed here a couple of times, and we like it. It is conveniently close to the airport. However, I have never heard any noise from the airport. The rooms have full kitchen and everything that we need to feel at home. The rooms have been clean when we have stayed here. We usually only grab a piece of fruit or a sausage from the breakfast buffet, so it is sufficient for our needs. Check in and check out are always pretty quick too. read more

This place is trash. Had to stay for an extended amount of time due to home construction. It's loud! Had to be on the first floor because dog and visiting family couldn't do stairs. Constantly hearing upstairs neighbors stomping around at all hours, day and night. Creaking anytime they were in the kitchen. Sounds like they were wearing work boots while stomping on bugs and simultaneously dropping bowling balls. Every single person who moved above me was like that! I turned up my tv to tune out the noise but they put a noise control on my tv. The place is dirty. Whatever they use to mop has a sticky residue so had to always wear shoes inside. It's Nextdoor to a place called "Home At Last". That is housing for people with serious mental illnesses, that is not my wording, google's wording. Never felt safe outside of complex. The people leaving good reviews were no doubt on the second floor or only there for a weekend. Had a miserable experience and management did nothing to address my discomfort. Also, other guests in the complex are super sketchy. Too many dated fixtures that felt dingy and dirty. Broken oven drawer. Can opener cut me, but didn't open the can. Wth?!...had to go get my own. Smokers everywhere!!!!! Chicken bones always outside on the ground. Could barely walk my dog because he kept trying to eat them. WiFi was constantly disconnecting. TV stopped working and had no guide, just channel listings. Had to flip through every channel to see what to watch. You can't connect your own firestick, they have firewalls to block that. Only Netflix was available. The noise is the worst though if you're on the first floor. It's absolutely nerve wracking! I work remotely so I was mostly in my room and had to hear every single step every single moment of every single day! Somehow every single tenant that stayed above me was constantly walking which sounded like stomping and dropping bowling balls. Who constantly walks around like that?! Like they were tweakers or something. I seriously wanted to knock on their door and ask wtf they were doing! I didn't though because I'd be the one in the wrong, even though they were the disruptive ones. Old a$$ bldg seriously needs to update with some proper sound proofing. I've never been in a regular hotel that was as noisy as this rat hole. Nerve wracking! I wanted to scream every night! The maintenance staff were always pleasant. The staff that worked the breakfast shift were also very kind and hardworking...but front desk and management, 1 star, at best. If you are going to tell people a valid form of payment is required when you check in, that needs to be explicitly stated in the confirmation email. This is regarding Taylor's customer service: First she tells us she needs to see a card and that is required, and tells us that policy is in our confirmation email, we looked at it together, it is not. Then she states it's on their website and proceeds to print a document from who knows where because this document does not have a Marriot letterhead (see image), but it says "a valid form of payment is required" FYI: mobile has been a valid form of payment for years but Taylor refused this. Luckily I was able to find my card in the car. I don't carry this card. It will be closed out this month. So what if someone else payed for this as a gift for me, then what? Does that mean the person checking in has to be the one that paid for it, this is not stated in the email. So after I find it and present the back and front of it, Taylor demands to have to take the card from from me and hold it in her hands, I told her she can see what she asked for and she didn't like that, told me she would have to ask me to leave because I need to "calm down" I'll just say this, if you give attitude you can expect attitude, plain and simple . She didn't even run the card through the terminal, scan it, nothing, all she did was want to show me that she needs to hold it. So where is it in the policy that ALL STAFF NEED TO HOLD A CARD IN THEIR HANDS to complete check in? She said she would have to ask me to leave if I didn't let her hold my card. Again where is this in your policy? While she was finishing up she asked me "if you had it this whole time was this really all necessary?" And I asked her back "is this question required as part of the check in too?" She didn't answer and proceeded to give us our room keys. This is for management, either Dilma or Amy. Not sure why LB has such high priced hotels, so this one @ $200/nt seems like a decent option: until you show up... Parking: $15/day to park in the tightest long laid out lot around clustered mini two flat property. Here for 2 nights and it was a challenge finding a spot and also navigating any large SUVs and pick up that stand out into the dining area. One evening I had to circle the lot until a spot opened up. So having to pay for that privilege was a downer. Hotel: Its a OLD property. The layout is a mess, which consists of two level coach units: two on second level and 2 on first. So if you are on the 2nd floor, you have drag your suitcases up and down. The room is dated and smaller than a typical Residence Inn. The toilet seat is round, not elongated. I have not seen a round seat in 20+ years? If you're a guy, it makes a difference, just saying. There are no restaurants within acceptable walking distance. Service: Close to none. No status acknowledgement and not even a bottle of water offered: just an option on points or market item. Would've been nice to just get one bottle. So I paid $4.50 for a water later, thanks! Overall: Personally I would never stay at this property again, way too many negatives. read more

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Marianne checked us in at the front desk. She was so sweet. She took the time to explain all the amenities on the property and helped us with extra questions and items that we needed. They have a basketball court, swimming pool and hot tub on Property. It feels like this hotel was newly remodeled. The furniture is in great condition and the room was spacious and very very clean. The TV swivels so that it faces the seating area and then it swivel back to the bedroom area. The bed was comfortable and we got a good nights sleep. I am a light sleeper. Our room was close to the street, but we did not hear any traffic noise. Although we did not use the kitchen, I loved that it had a full size stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and everything you would need to prepare a meal. We enjoyed the free continental breakfast which consisted of a biscuit sandwich, eggs, sausage, waffles, scones, oatmeal, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and a variety of juices, tea and coffee The Residence Inn felt very warm and cozy. I'm sold! I stayed over 100 nights in Marriott properties last year, mostly Courtyard, JW, SpringHill Suites, or Fairfield's, but this was my first time experiencing a week in a Residence Inn by Marriott. When I drove up I was a little worried since it is designed like an apartment complex and I couldn't see where to check in. It definitely didn't feel like a hotel. Folks were smoking outside. Lots of trucks as renovations are in progress. It felt like the first apartment complex I had back home in Chicago, except there were palm trees! But then I found the entrance, and Jivoni welcomed me. He was so great!! I explained my allergies to cats and dogs and I asked if I could get a "pet-free" room and he said he'd try to get me a room with a lower likelihood of recently having housed a cat or dog. He also put me on the first floor, which I appreciate. I thought "ok, let's give this a whirl" and I actually loved it. I stayed in Building 12, in room 11, which is a first floor "apartment "/ room that came with a full kitchen, king-sized bed, couch, and solid shower. I loved being able to pull in right in front of my door, park for free, and take 10 steps to my room!! No lobby. Just poof- home!! I used the pool and hot tub, both pretty nice. The hot tub heater was not working but a staff member checked in with us and said he'd fix it. Very nice staff all around- from Check-in to Breakfast to Grounds crew. I didn't meet Housekeeping, but someone came and fixed my bed once so that was nice! Breakfast was in the large dining area and I was digging the nice music (Killers, Cold Play) and that the TV news was set to silent. Food was good and plentiful! Huge tea/coffee bar with fresh cold brew, too. Some fresh fruit, quiches, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, scones, bacon, sausage, and cold cereals. Booked this location solely so that I could park my car there during a week-long cruise. I have stayed at the Pasadena location a few times. However, this particular location was great in terms of its units. From my phone call with Carlo to inquire about parking to my checkout, and finally picking up my car after the cruise, all was pretty good. I LOVED the morning breakfast and the friendliness of staff. But what I particularly LOVED was the standalone units. They were truly like separate little residences. I was upgraded to a "penthouse-style" unit. It had an upstairs bedroom that I actually didn't need as a solo traveler. But I loved the spacious all-inclusive nature of the unit. It was a mini home away from home. Complete with stove, microwave and refrigerator. I also liked that it was close to restaurants, gas stations, drug stores and grocery stores. The downside was the riff raft that seemed to like being in proximity to that parking lot. Made me a little nervous to leave my car there for an entire week. But, thankfully, I returned and everything was just fine. Also, look at your final bill closely they overcharged me for parking. I was there from Saturday at 4PM to the next Saturday at 9AM. I was charged for 8 days and I let that slide. But they charged an additional $15 for which I pointed out and received a refund. Overall, I would consider staying here again. I came here for some alone time and ended up with food poison after eating delivery. The staff was kind and professional about tidying up the mess I made. Then I couldn't figure out the t.v. and Carlos quickly came over to remedy the situation and didn't judge. I have a few more days here but I'm already impressed by the customer service. I rented the penthouse. Based on the reviews, I did not have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The places was very clean, and the AC was perfect not too cold. The beds in our room was very comfortable. The front desk staff was hard to get ahold of, but I was able to get ahold of the janitor. The interior looks better than the exterior. The property seems older and there are numerous buildings, that is hard to figure out where our room was. The central building has the front desk, pool, and breakfast, but finding your room is difficult. It is also not great if you don't have a car, as you will be hauling your luggage outside to your building. There are no elevators, so you have to go up outdoor stairs if you are on second floor. It's laid out more like a series of apartments than a hotel. The breakfast was good! The service was great! The location is amazing, but the layout really bothered me. If they will treat someone so badly on their literal wedding day can you image what they would to a normal customer just staying in Long Beach. Worst hotel experience ever. Stayed here 7/12-7/16/2024 because the location was about 2 miles from the Long Beach airport.Airport. my studio suite was clean and located in a quiet corner. Maid service was e very other day. Some days, the breakfast was pretty good, but other days, it was a repeat, but there was a choice of items. The young lady at the fro t desk was very helpful and pleasant. One thing I want to mention is that I got a call around midnight my first night; it was the front desk letting me know that I had left my car lights on. I really appreciated them checking and looking me up to save me some big trouble the next day. Only concern I had was that the hotel cost was up more than the last time I stayed here, but I was satisfied with the quality of my stay. read more

I recently stayed in the penthouse over the weekend and the new renovated suites look great! I love how spacious the suites are. You don't feel cramped by being in a standard sized room. There is plenty of space to spread out and the penthouse suites can easily accommodate 5 people. The full kitchens with stoves and refrigerators are a huge plus. Stay Away from the Marriott! The day we checked out and were getting ready to empty the dishwasher we were greeted by a large cockroach!! I had read Google reviews that said there are roaches in the room but we didn't see any until the last day--I can't believe this is a Marriott managed property . When I took the video to the front desk staff, I can tell by their reaction, this isn't a new issue. They did not look surprised! I checked in and had to ask for my room to be cleaned because there was trash in the upstairs bedroom trash can, hair on the pillows like someone had not changed the bedding, used sponges in the kitchen, and it takes 15 minutes for the water to get hot. I am a Bonvoy Elite member and have NEVER had these issues at any property! When I complained about the lack of hot water the staff said"this is an old building, you just have to wait for it to heat up." So I'm supposed to pay $400/night to wait 15 min for the water to get hot? A maintenance engineer spent 2 hours trying to fix the water issue and said the water pump needs to be replaced. He was very nice and tried to fix the issue but couldn't, and then the front desk staff attempted to gaslight me and said he fixed the issue--meanwhile we were taking cold showers! But for the WiFi to be going down and being ridiculously slow for two months coinciding with construction noise nonstop and their washers always being broken, this place needs to shape up. Just the speed difference from the office to my room is crazy. I should be able to WFH from my room and not be stuck in their lobby. I stayed here recently for a work trip, and based on the reviews i had read I was very skeptical and a little nervous to be honest. But to my delight, the staff was super friendly and very helpful. While the rooms are older, my room was as clean as it could be. I slept in the loft bed and it was comfortable and quiet. The TVs are very nice - one of the TVs was not connected when I arrived, but technician came and promptly fixed that issue. I have read that they are slated for remodel in the near future, I think this would be great for them as the property is serene and comfortable. The only gripe that I did have is that the comforter cover and the sheets had little marks on them. You could tell the sheets had been changed but the stains were a little disconcerting. Watching the housekeeping service the next day, I saw them carrying everything by hand. That would make it very easy to drop things on the ground, which may have resulted in the small stains that I saw. Either way, it was nothing to cry about. read more

My husband and I always stay at Marriotts. We are Gold members and usually have wonderful service. Today we checked online about 2:00 pm. We never received our phone key. I sent a chat message at 7:30 pm asking for our room number and the key access. We received NO response. Our plane was delayed 1.5 hours and we' wanted to get to the hotel order food to be delivered and settle in to get some quiet and a good nights sleep. When we reached the hotel, young lady at the front desk was sweet but kept repeating to the customer in front of us that she was waiting on, I'm new, I don't know. This is truly unacceptable. Why when she was clearly not ready to handle the front desk was she abandoned and let loose on customers? After 10 minutes a young man appeared. He appeared to be returning from his break. Although we had checked in online 6 hrs before we had no room. He asked 1st or 2 floor. He saw we were standing there with 5 heath suitcases. He put us in the second floor; There is NO Elevator ‍. Our door would not open so he came up and asked if we had pulled the door toward us and heard the click before scanning the key. WHAT!!!! Pull the doors and heat a click ????! He might have said something about that before we came up here. I gave 2 stars because at least the room was clean. As Gold customers we always get a little gift; bottles of water or cookies. Something small but a thank you for brand loyalty. There was NOTHING and there has been No acknowledgment of our gold status. PROS: * A great location (close to the freeway and the airport as well as other LBC spots/restaurants/etc) * Friendly staff * The hotel room we stayed at had a kitchenette and good space/ bathroom * Large fridge for food storage * Fair amount of parking * Gym (can be used if you sign-up in the morning due to COVID restrictions) * Free breakfast (with lots of varieties) * Basketball Court CONS: * Walls are thin and you can hear conversations outside * Loud music and partying happening with no control from staff * Parking can get bad towards the night time, so you may have to walk a bit if you arrive late I think for me, this hotel's PROS outweighed the CONS significantly. If I could give zero stars, I would. The way my family has been treated at the time of devastation is unacceptable. My husband booked a room for my sister so that she has a place to stay and prepare for a funeral. We needed to change the reservation name to my sister, so that she wouldnt have any issues. The manager, Wendy, was so rude and dismissive at the reason we booked the room and denied our request. My sister has been in limbo and unable to access the room. This is already a difficult time and Wendy showed no compassion or quality customer service. Just gave a flat 'No'. We paid for the room and to be treated this way, not good. I will never spend money here again. ****UPDATE**** We were finally able to get the reservation name switched for my sister. However, we found out from Cecilia ( an associate), that her manager, Wendy, told her not to allow any changes or fix anything on our account. My hubby also told me that Wendy told him that this is what we get for booking with Expedia and not them directly. How is she employed as a manager at Marriott? I feel like we are being treated mean due to our race. She may be a person of cor as well, but she is not our color and coloring exists! Marriott needs to fix this horrible experience! read more

Worst. Hotel. Ever. Do NOT stay here. Can not believe this is able to be associated with the Marriott brand, which is usually a safe bet. First, you have to walk nearly a full block outside to get to rooms in the back. There's no elevators, so women in heels be warned that you will lug your suitcase up a large staircase. My first room was covered in ants, so I had to walk all the way back to the desk to get a new room. There was partying and fighting in the parking lot making this an extremely dangerous location for women traveling alone. Also, was woken up to partying, cars blasting music, and fire alarms ALL NIGHT LONG. Rooms are big, but bed is hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. The bathroom light is on a sensor and turns off while you're showering. I'm not sure it could be any worse. read more

yikes. checked in saturday evening and the room was old and outdated and instantly smelled like cigarettes. immediately called front desk and they apologized and put me into another room and it was also old and outdated with ripped carpet. this unit was downstairs and the upstairs guests were extremely noisy booming and bumping and running up and down the steps til about 1 in the morning. i reached out to the front desk and they stated they would reach out to the guests to keep it down . i woke up to seeing worms on the floor (one in the kitchen and near the front door) reached out to the front desk as i was headed out for the day and asked for new towels and for the worms to be taken care of. they said okay and when i came back that evening, the worms were still there in the same spot on the floor and towels simply put on the desk and not the bathroom. reached out again to front desk and they apologized and offered to apply points as an inconvenience which were not received. read more

We stayed here for a couple of nights. I had never been to a Residence Inn that had two floors for one room. It felt like an apartment which was a change of pace than the traditional hotel room. There were a few other rooms that were being remodeled so I saw all of the carpet and furniture removed. The room we stayed in had two floors and smelled brand new as if the room we were in was remodeled earlier which was fine by me. There were three flat screen TVs in the room and one remote control could control all of them even though each had their own remotes. There was a kitchen with a stove, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The bathrooms were both clean and looked new. The king-sized bed was comfortable to me and there were plenty of outlets to plug in your various devices. The lobby was clean and the complimentary breakfast was as good as a complimentary breakfast can be. They also offered a shuttle service to and from the airport. If they don't do the shuttle service like in my case, then they will call a taxi and pay for your fare which was nice. Parking was not a problem. I would recommend this hotel if you're wanting to stay in the area and be 5 minutes from the airport. read more

Beware of arbitrary surprise fees of over $200 that will appear on your credit card later like a high parking fee ($26 on the website/$31 in person) and a (for some reason) $150 pet fee plus an additional $25 tax fee for the pet fee?
