The weiner in winter: I guess the Residence Inn is preferred by hot dog fanatics?
    Andrew D.

I stayed here for almost six months on business. During the whole of my stay, it remained a very busy place, and was frequently booked solid. Weekends looked to be more popular than weekdays. The staff was very friendly throughout my stay, making an active effort to be welcoming. They were responsive to issues with the room (and issues with my neighbors). As an example, my co-worker had problems with his room's thermostat as the summer began, and staff immediately moved him into a new room as soon as space opened in spite of a heavily-booked weekend. The desk staff is very polite with frazzled travelers, even when they have to disappoint by letting you know that they are out of orange juice or the breakfast buffet has closed. The cleaning staff made an effort to clean my areas when I allowed them in, and did not go through my storage space, respecting my privacy. They were always very good about replacing complementary amenities like soap well before I ran out. Speaking of the breakfast buffet, their "breakfast crew" was absolutely outstanding every morning. The usual suspects were available for breakfast items, with some daily variety between baked goods, or fried potatoes replaced by biscuits with sausage gravy. They even had the occasional chicken-waffles. My co-worker and I both found that the wireless internet access was unreliable. It would spontaneously cut out or drop in bandwidth quality. This is inconvenient when watching suddenly blurry or disconnected movies on Netflix, but painful during after-hours teleconferences with colleagues on the west coast. A daily upgrade was available for nominal fee, but we did not test this because we suspected that the unreliable connection would continue regardless of the bandwidth we paid for. The full-size fridge was nice, and critical during my long-term stay. The open range and microwave provided some limited cooking, and a gas grill could be reserved downstairs near the pool. I recommend bringing at least one of your own frying pans and a wooden spoon if you are serious about cooking for yourself, as the cookware provided is subpar. There was also a small but strong dishwasher which made cleanup much easier. The gym was pretty basic, but had free weights and treadmills. I came here to work, and not to work out, so this was enough. There is a small park with a trail just down the block from the hotel, so your fitness needs can also be met elsewhere.

Check in was fast and easy. Customer service was great. I appreciated the fact that when I called the front desk for more towels, I was greeted by my name and not just with a simple hello. Due to COVID, we couldn't take advantage of the continental breakfast. Therefore we were given oatmeal, bagels and breakfast bars. Our room was clean so we have no complains there. The only issue was the guy across the hall had a dog. This property is pet friendly. We soon got tired of hearing the dog bark. The plus is that the dog didn't bark during the night. Nice place. I would definitely recommend.

Dried up soap from a previous guest....don't do it!

Don't even do it...geez craziest hotel experience ever. Got into my room, nice little suite...ok...walked into the bedroom...there's a dent in the pillow? Someone's been sleeping in my bed? Went to wash my hands...there was used soap (with dried up bubbles) on the soap tray...Someone's been using my soap? Felt like the three lil' bears...Had to switch rooms. Not I said this mama bear...live happily ever after...heed my warning and don't do it...

General Manager Holiday Inn Greenbelt…read more7200 Hanover Drive Greenbelt, MD 20770 I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a very serious incident that occurred during my stay at the Holiday Inn Greenbelt on the evening of May 13, 2026, between approximately 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. During our stay, another guest entered our room using a key that had been issued by the front desk. At the time, my girlfriend was in the process of dressing, making the situation extremely alarming, invasive, and unacceptable. This incident represented a serious breach of guest privacy and safety. After the guest exited the room, he returned to the front desk and spoke with a male employee working there. I immediately attempted to express my anger and concern regarding what had just happened, but I was dismissively waved off with a hand gesture. The employee then stated, "I gave him the key, everything's okay." That response was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and showed a disturbing lack of concern for the seriousness of the situation. As a result of this incident, my girlfriend was extremely uncomfortable and had difficulty sleeping throughout the night. The following morning, on May 14, 2026, at approximately 9:10 AM while returning our room keys, I again addressed the matter with the front desk attendant. Her response was that she was already aware and that the employee "made a mistake." Unfortunately, she also displayed an attitude that came across as dismissive and unconcerned, which only added to our frustration. This experience fell far below the standards of professionalism, safety, and customer care that guests should reasonably expect from a hotel operating under the Holiday Inn brand. A hotel issuing a room key to the wrong guest is a serious security failure that should never occur. I expect a formal apology regarding this incident, as well as a full refund for our stay. I also strongly recommend that management review security procedures and camera footage related to this matter to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents from happening to future guests. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution I GOT NO RESOLUTION

I had two nights in Room 505 and then booked an additional night here in room 634. Rooms were a bit dated but spacious and comfortable. Sturdy and functional furnishings. Rooms had microwave, full size ironing board, minifridge, and direct TV. Slept well all three nights. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast buffet was OK, only did one morning. The hotel was sold out all nights as there were so many kids there for a DC school trip. Other than jam packed elevators and the noise of excited kids it wasn't bad. The hotel staff appeared to do an amazing job with being at full capacity and balancing the guest activities and conference spaces. I read some of the reviews prior to booking here and I found my stay to be great. As a diamond member I travel a lot and I was more than pleased with my stay. I did lose my air pods while traveling so if the hotel finds them in one of the rooms and reads this, send them my way please. I called and spoke to the front desk but this was totally a me thing and not on the hotel. I would absolutely stay here again if out in the Green Belt or College Park, Maryland area.

The Starbucks is in fact, not opened.. some rooms do not include a simple microwave, etc. The common area/breakfast area is all within the same vicinity. "Breakfast" would be nothing but some apple and orange juice, hot bar of only tea hot water & coffee, and that's about it - just bagels, fruit & water. I will not be staying here for a third time.. they've done enough damage. The only reason this place did not receive 1-star is because the inside balcony was a nice additional. From the outside and far away, the hotel is appealing (see pictures).

We were able to close them at night and then we never got them open again. The room's closet was also small, but since this was a short trip it was okay. If you're here for longer or have more clothes you want to hang up, you'll have limited space and hangers and will have to use the dresser. The main complaint with the hotel is the walls are paper thin and guests seem to be up at all hours constantly. Our flight got in at midnight and I thought most people would be asleep. Nope! Going down the hallway to our room there were plenty of guests talking loudly. Our neighbors would have the TV on or playing music. Sometimes the volume was low, but could still be heard through the shared door between units. When our neighbors were feeling really courteous, they had loud music playing at 4am! Another room had tons of kids staying in it and I couldn't imagine how rowdy that experience must have been staying next door to them. Nothing wrong with kids, but these walls were not built to insulate sound at ANY capacity. Would not recommend staying here if you need a proper place to sleep since every guest seems to be up all at hours and noise carries everywhere.
