Respect movers moved me out of my 2 bedroom condo to our new house yesterday. From the very beginning, Bob answered all my questions via Yelp messages promptly. I had changed my move date 3 times and Bob was more than accommodating. Yesterday the mover called me to let me know they will arrive in 40 minutes. They were on time and courteous. Shrink wrapped all my furniture and took great care to make sure nothing got damaged. It took them 7 hours for two guys which I felt was reasonable since my staircase turns and barely had enough room for most of my furniture to get downstairs. There were some scratches on the walls by the stairs which was easily fixed with a little bit of paint. They told me right away when the paint got scratched off and apologized but totally not their fault since my furniture didn't really fit the space. Both guys were professional, well mannered and easy to work with. They took apart most of my furniture to move it out of the condo and offered to put it back together when we got to the new house. I would highly recommend this moving company. read more

They gave me a window from 8-10am on my moving day and followed up a few days prior with an automated text message. Toby and Eric show up and these guys are seriously the best. Like I wanted to hang out with them even after they were done. They were efficient and didn't waste anytime at all meanwhile were so respectful and kind to not just us but everyone in our apartment building they came across. Items we didn't think we'd have the time or resources to pack (like my clothes hanging) Toby & Eric insisted and had an efficient method of packing it. I went with Respect movers because they had one of the most competitive prices and great reviews but now I'll now never leave Respect Movers due to the personal touch they provided of making my move as easy as possible. I'm following up on Sam C's review as I was in the house the whole time the moving company was here. Bob's claims of lies are so weird & false - we asked them to put the window unit up into our window, there's also no set up with a window unit as you literally just plug it in and go...... He never became upset as they didn't even talk to him about it - they spoke to me. If you're going to lie at least get this story straight? Lol. We also asked them if they'd unpack boxes in kitchen since they arrived after the initial window unit conversation & since they had been there no more than 45 minutes we wanted to make the most of the 3 hour window. They wouldn't unpack, wouldn't "touch our clothes" or help do anything besides move boxes around... which we had already accomplished. So after declining every request we had, we just gave up and paid them for the 3 hours (which we were never notified of that policy - or a cash is better than card policy that required an extra charge if we didn't pay in cash) These 5 star reviews are being pressured by the movers - they stand over you and wait for you to post it to leave your house. Finally got a chance to sit down and write about the moving company. I have to say that the respect movers are soooo helpful and nice. I am moving from LA to SF with a short time limit and I got a few quotes from yelp and They are not the cheapest but they are the only one to come and do a more accurate estimate based on what they see. The packing process was painful cause I got a lot of clothes and shoes, but they did a good job packing everything and helped me clean up the trashes. And the moving was unbelievably fast. Their cash fee was very competitive and included insurance covering $0.60 per lb. Bob and his colleague arrived on time and were very hard working throughout the day. There was a 3 hour minimum but they provided full services including wrapping/unwrapping and disassembling/reassembling. I had Johnny, Alex, and Max. The best. Period. I requested for 8-10am(earliest time) to get the moving done and get the new place done all in the same day. And usually when you request 08-10am, some movers arrive in the later part of the appointment. But, they called me the day before and arrived at 07:50am. Fantastic. When they got here, they wasted no time. Their teamwork was perfect. They barely even talked to each other while moving, completely in sync. They had impeccable manners and our conversations while in the elevators were pleasant. I had Izzy and Hugo move my apartment a few weeks ago - both were excellent and it was really the easiest move ever - I didn't have to do anything - I was actually unpacking as soon as they brought the boxes to my new unit - and also they were great at taking away all my empty boxes that I didn't need. I kept wanting to buy them food or coffee but they were good and kept on working - and best of all - we were done in 4 hours. Really nice guys and great communication from the office - they checked to see whether the movers had arrived and also checked to see that all was ok once I had moved and that I had no issues or complaints. BEWARE! My experience with Respect Movers was very uncomfortable and even shocking. I hired them to move a few things from a small storage unit into my new apartment. One of my movers was perfectly nice throughout the move, but the other one was rude, unprofessional, and a bully towards the end. This guy asked me for a bigger tip, then got really nasty and condescending when I told him that was all the cash I had on me. I hadn't anticipated the double drive time (for travel over 30 minutes) was not included in the 3 hour minimum, so I hadn't taken enough cash out for a large tip. This was already unprofessional behavior, but it kept getting worse. He literally refused to leave my house until he watched me post a 5 star review. I told him repeatedly that I would post one later because I needed to leave for work (my window was 8-10 am but they showed up at 10:20), but he wouldn't listen. He kept saying, "No, you're doing this now. I'm going to watch you post it." When my initial post wasn't long enough, he made me do it all over again, and dictated what he wanted me to say. He even grabbed my phone out of my hand to access Yelp so I would post a second time. He also insisted that I post a photo of the two of us in front of my personal belongings "to show that nothing was broken" (when, in fact, they had actually broken the knob off of my side table and conveniently had that part up against the wall so I didn't notice until later). I refused to be in the photo, which made him angry, but I took one of him in front of my belongings and posted it and the review (which I've since deleted) so that he would leave. I never post on Yelp. In fact, the review that this mover basically forced me to post was my first review. I'm posting this one because it feels important to try and help people avoid having this experience, especially women moving alone. Hard workers but do slow down a bit. Furniture made it back with no scratches. They have all the necessary equipment and all. You pre pack and they take care of the rest. My only issue and complaint is that they attempted to charge me 100$ extra to move fridge even thought contract states this charge applies to items above 300lbs. the fridge was 240 and still complained. It became an issue that was fixed and not charged. So make sure to be clear when booking so this does not happen. I would use them again. read more

We used Respect Movers yesterday for a 2bed to a 3bed move. Zaur, Joe, and Alim were our movers and they showed up at 8:15am within their 8-10 window. They were all very positive and friendly. At no point did they ever go any speed other than quick. Took 2 hours on the dot to wrap and protect all of our stuff and get it on the truck. Took maybe an hour to move it all in at the new place. All three did an excellent job and we could not be happier with the results. While they did ask me to write this review, I was in no way pressured. Just a simple "if you could when you can". I had a great experience with these guys. They moved my 1 bedroom from mid-wilshire to venice in under 3 hours. Granted, I did have everything packed, wrapped and ready to walk out the door. I had booked an 8- 10 am window but instead movers arrived around 11am. One of the movers was asleep in truck upon arrival. They showed up with masks around their chins and one mover requested cold water from a Brita four times within an hour of starting. Then when the Brita was finished he refused water from the tap and felt emotionally hurt. When I called Ali in dispatch to complain I was told that he would be happy to stop the clock and dump all my belongings on the street. The gentleman showed up on time, got right to work and worth with such great work ethic and polite enthusiasm. The moving truck is just pulling out - and the guys from Respect Movers did a fantastic job! Bob at the office got me information and a quote quickly; the guy who did visual inspection was professional and friendly. And the 4 movers - all of them - were amazing. They showed up on time, with a phone call confirming arrival time. They blanketed and shrink wrapped everything so all our heavy wooden furniture was well protected - I've moved many times and never have seen movers take this much care. They really did take all day (9-3:30) to pack up our 3 bedroom townhouse, including a baby grand piano and packing up the kitchen. They unloaded in only about 4 hours. They really knew what they were doing, disassembling and assembling the piano and the rest of our furniture. They were friendly and professional. I didn't see any dings to the walls or stairs. This is my second time selecting Respect Movers for my move. Alex (Al) and Milton were so kind, hardworking, and efficient with my move! We had a few mishaps including them not having the right tools to disassemble my bed / unmount my TV, so I would recommend not packing away your tool set in case movers don't have the right tools. (The movers had come from a less-complex move so they did not bring the right tools.) The lift was also not working on the truck they used, which slowed down the move. This was not the individual movers' fault and they actually put in a lot of effort lifting very heavy boxes themselves onto the truck. That said, I had an excellent experience because of Al and Milton! They made the move work despite not having the best resources. read more
