I was a bit disappointed with the food in general. I reserved a room for a party (my wedding) and let me say first, the service was top notch. The servers anticipated and followed through, perfect. The food however, was less than I was hoping for. I have eaten at Restaurant 45 on many occasion and have always been pleased. This time, the haddock was dry and over cooked at several tables while general good at others. The chicken parmesan was consistent at some tables but my mother's dish was dried out and burnt. The chicken carbonara is delish! In the lunch size, this pasta is plentiful and the chicken was tasty and tender. Lonnie suggested it after I told her it was my first time. Took an older friend of mine out to lunch she was moving to California this restaurant was like across the street from her old house that she had just sold my hubby and I took her there for lunch to spend some last minute time with her and truly enjoyed the experience the service and the meal and I'm looking forward to going back there again just ourselves or taking our children now. Service was great the girl had lots of experience and really knew what everything was on the menu after all we've never been there before but my friend had been there many many times they were very understanding and patient with us as we kind of Grazed through the menu. Everything was cooked to order it was truly a spectacular experience for one of the very first times in my life I went to a restaurant when nothing was wrong with my meal that in itself was a miracle. This is a nice restaurant for a casual dinner. The seating arrangements are weird and very spread out. I would love to sit in the bar area next time which was very inviting. I wasn't wowed by the service or food but it was decent. My gnocchi in bolognese sauce left something to be desired.. it wasn't bad just something was missing. Everyone in my party received huge portions of the dinners they chose and seemed to be happy with it. The prices are OK for the portions that you get. read more

The food here is very good, we love the attention given by the staff to make the restaurant appealing to dine in. They say you eat with your eyes before your mouth. By that I mean, the restaurant is very neat and the lounge inviting. When you walk in there, you're immediately comfortable. We have never been disappointed (well, almost never) here, recently they took their Chicken Marie off the menu, it was one of the best. Hopefully it will return. read more

Nothing spectacular. Carbonara sauce was dry and broken. Seafood risotto was gritty and lacking seasoning & personally, I'd prefer the shrimp tails removed. Espresso martini was great! This place is God-awful! They can't even manage to cook BASIC food correctly! The last time I was there, I ordered Veal Piccata. What I got was grey meat that looked more like pork, covered in goopy library paste, rather than fresh pink veal scallopini dredged in seasoned flour and seared in a very hot pan to form a thin, crisp crust, like it's supposed to be. The white wine used in the sauce was clearly Gallo chablis (the kind that comes in gallon jugs), at best! And the sauce was absolutely swimming in artificial lemon juice. The sauce was also broken because they never added the final pats of butter to bring the emulsion together. Not that an emulsion could ever come together with that much acidic liquid and so little fat to suspend it in! And there was not a single caper on the plate either. And there had to have been at least 2 full tablespoons of old, stale garlic powder in it (for just my portion)! And it wasn't even garlic powder that had been allowed to reconstitute in the sauce. Just a huge amount of cheap, stale garlic powder dumped in at the last minute! You can't do that with garlic powder, because garlic powder needs to reconstitute in liquid. Unless it's High Bulk Index (HBI) garlic powder, which doesn't need to be reconstituted, but it certainly wasn't HBI since HBI garlic powder hasn't been available in the US for years and cannot legally be imported. Two others in my party ordered Eggplant Parmesan, which was equally awful. I'd go into detail, but I doubt anyone is still reading this. Suffice it to say that I'm a chef, that Italian food is one of my specialties, and that I know what I'm talking about here! Additionally, the service staff and "manager" were just terrible. Poorly trained, ignorant as to their own menu, disaffected, disinterested, disrespectful and utterly clueless. At one point, when I pointed out all the things wrong with my Piccata, the server actually said "Yeah, that's why I don't eat here." Well then how can you serve this crap to paying customers? Have you no integrity at all??? Also, all anyone could hear in the dining room was hybrid heavy metal/rap music, with extremely inappropriate lyrics, at peak volume, pouring out from the kitchen like a deluge of sonic hatred and contempt for the guests. The music was drowned-out only by the kitchen staff constantly cussing and screaming at each other at the tops of their lungs. I was there with my 92 year old grandmother and my daughter for Christ's sake! So inappropriate!!! At the end, our plates were 90% untouched. The server offered us a "doggie bag". All I could do was laugh. I wouldn't feed that mess to a stray, let alone a beloved family pet! 15 years ago this place was pretty good. Maybe even bordering on very good. But now my recommendation would be to avoid the place like the plague! Just saying.... read more

(Visited 06/13/20) The location was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Our waitress was fantastic and was very considerate of the new rules and guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. We sat outside with plenty of space apart from other guests, the staff were all wearing masks, and the menus were contactless (they gave you a QR code to scan so you could look at the menu on your phone). We wore our own masks while waiting to be seated but were allowed to take them off once at the table. The food was pretty good and served quickly. I would recommend that any diners also bring a jacket- it definitely got a little chilly on the patio!- but nothing any New Englander isn't used to. read more

We ordered here to support local with everything going on with Corona and impacting small local businesses. My husband didn't want dinner so i just ordered chicken parm and all I can say is WOW! When my husband tasted mine he made himself a plate and there was plenty for both. It was still hot when I got home and cooked to perfection! The curbside pick up was fantastic and really appreciated their attention to what was going on and the precautions! Can't wait to go back and support them!
