Se e ms like every place I go near Franklin, MA is high quality food, drinks and staff. I ordered flatbread. A margarita with tomatoes and very fresh cheese. It left me stunned how fresh and mouth watering it was. Nice and dim at the bar which I always feel is nice. I watched other dishes coming out and they looked unbelievable...I wanted to sit next to the people with those dishes and prrletend I was their long lost kid so I could eat it too. Pretty solid Italian in a space with nice ambiance, big portions, and decent prices. The bread was good, but the oil was thin and not very fragrant, so I don't think it was olive oil. Lots of Portuguese options, so I tried a cup of Portuguese kale soup to start, which was tasty, but a bit salty. Also had the eggplant stack, and it was truly -stacked- high, and the sauce was pretty good. My mom really liked her salmon dish. Other folks at my table that had pasta said their dishes were just okay. Service was attentive and prompt. Good value spot. read more

My mom loves this place, and for those of you who don't know her, that is the highest marks any restaurant can get. We went here for her 80th birthday with a group of about 11 people, and she (and all of us) had a great time. The food was delicious and came in large portions. I don't usually eat the bread before the meal, but it was definitely worth it. The service was amazing, super friendly and very accommodating. This was definitely the night of birthdays as there were at least two other groups celebrating, including another 80th bday. They had something for everyone, including a good children's menu, which was one of the deciding factors for the grandkids. 2nd visit to this place and they've gotten better since I first visited about 3 months ago. Nice family owned and operated restaurant, Portuguese influenced Italian, not too many of these but I'll say this it works. We went with a party of 4 for dinner, be sure to make a reservation on busy nights (Thur/Fri/Sat) it was packed when we showed for our 7pm spot. The interior has a nice vibe to it, definitely the sit down type of place no longer the pub atmosphere it use to have in it's prior iteration. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the owner Neto stopped by to deliver our app (Portuguese style mussels) delicious in a garlicy broth with onions and chourico (spicey sausage) and a basket of freshly baked Tuscan style bread (terrific) he chatted with us for a minute, very friendly and we thought it was great he took the time to. I've have had the mussels before so I knew they are terrific but my friends had not and they luved them. For entrees I went with the Portugeuse Style Steak, a rib eye cut served over rich with home cut potato chips with an egg on top served in the wonderful Portuguese spices. I grew up in Fall River and this was a staple for most Portuguese restaurants in the city and if you've never had it it's a MUST order. The rest of the group ordered Chicken Francaise (two of these) and Chicken Florentine. Everyone raved about their meals and portions are on the big size so be sure to bring an appetite when visiting, you're going to be full when you leave. The drink menu, mixed drinks, short wine list and beers on tap will have something for everyone, all reasonably priced. I know this is a bit out of the way but if you're out to the Wrentham outlets you'd do well to head hear for dinner, great spot. read more

Five stars at all levels. We made a reservation a few days earlier for 6PM and when we arrived the place was packed! I mean a person at every table but our request to be in the dining room was exactly where we were taken to our table. Our server's name was Chris and he was excellent and very attentive but not overly so. After enjoying drinks with friends we ordered our food. I had the steak tips with mashed potatoes and squash which was very tasty. The tips were recommended by a friend of my wife and she wasn't wrong. WOW - delicious. I really can't say enough great things about our experience here and we will return soon. Thank you to Chris, the kitchen, the chef, and all the staff who made this a really great experience. Despite a minor hiccup with my order -- I was served a Caprese salad instead of the Chicken Caprese -- La Familia still holds up as a solid dining option in Wrentham. This visit, we dined inside the restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely decorated and inviting the interior is. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making for an enjoyable dine-in experience. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly throughout, which helped smooth over the earlier mix-up. The cocktails were well-crafted and flavorful, and the pricing overall remains reasonable for the quality and ambiance. La Familia has finally opened its Wrentham location. Formerly The Tavern at Wrentham. La Familia is a casual Italian American restaurant and bar serving lunch, dinner, and drinks. They have other locations in Easton, Taunton, and Cumberland RI. The building was redone nicely which has separate bar/lounge and dining rooms. The long lounge area has a full service bar with seating & flatscreen TVs, high top tables, and regular tables, wood floors and faux fireplace. The dining room has tables and booth seating. The food menu offers appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, pasta, plus seafood, steak, pork tenderloin, chicken, and desserts. The prices seem pretty reasonable. I stopped by La Familia in Wrentham for lunch recently. I was seated at a table near the bar and given a lunch menu and specials menu. The server arrived 5 minutes later and I placed my order for an ice water, Soup & Sandwich ($10.99 plus tax) and Salmon ala Vodka ($15.99 plus tax). A basket of chewy ciabatta bread slices with olive oil, garlic & spices dip waa dropped off too. Both entrees arrived together in about 10 minutes. The cup of soup of the day Chicken Rice was pretty good and the basic sandwich had tuna salad, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on toasted white bread. The pasta dish was a good portion of soft linguine smothered with a creamy tomato cream sauce, mushroom, and grilled salmon pieces. I did request a box for some of the pasta and passed on dessert. The check came out to $28.87 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food was enjoyable, service was good and the price was right. I would likely return here for another meal if I happen to be driving the backroads of Wrentham. read more

I've had great experience with their location in Easton but this was my first time here. Very small intimate restaurant although the bar side looked much larger. Very warm and welcoming vibe. Service was top notch, friendly and efficient. My daughter and I both had the veal parm sub with fries. Portions were huge and delicious, fries were crispy and hot. We just left La Familia and here is my review. We were a party of 4 and sat in bar area at a table, which was bright and comfortable. We were greeted by Eric who right away brought water and menus and quickly took our drink order and returned with delicious warm bread and olive oil dipping sauce. My husband asked for butter which wasn't a problem. For entrees: the lobster ravioli special, chicken marsala, spinach roasted garlic ravioli with a garlic/olive oil sauce and the last entree was the house salad, which had many different salad greens, with grilled chicken. All the food was delicious. The standout of the day was the bartender, Eric. Incredible service!!! Will definitely be back again and hope we are lucky to have Eric look after us again! read more

What a wonderful tucked away Italian Restaurant. Definitely off the beaten path but well worth the trip. I had the small Fettuccine Alfredo with a grilled piece of chicken and had leftovers. My wife had the eggplant parm with leftovers and my son ate all of his fettuccine with bolognese sauce. Everybody loved the food, service was great, they were attentive and quick. Five Stars all around! We came by with a 7 person family get together and were not disappointed. Our hostess greeted us kindly and we were seated at a large family style table. The restaurant was clean and nicely appointed. Our server, whose name I think was Carli, was outstanding. We were a laughing, challenging crowd who asked a lot; but she handled us like a pro. And the food was delicious! Vegans: lots of options! We were at an Italian place, but I chose to have the Beyond Burger which was cooked to perfection. And the fries were crispy and tasty. I would put them right up there as in the top five fries of all time. So good. And I had good reviews from those who had the raviolis and meatballs, and another who had pasta with marinara. and my cousin loved loved loved the antipasto salad. Such a good vibe and a good time in this family restaurant. If I'm ever back in the area I'll go there again. If you're pondering trying this place out, think no more and go. From the 15 min wait to get a drink we had to continuously call our server over from forgetting things to asking to have our dirty appetizer dishes removed just as our main meal was coming . Let me start out by saying I am terrible at taking photos of my food. I feel embarrassed pulling out my camera and doing aerial shots of my dinner ...but I digress. You will have to take my word for it lol We have been customers of La Familia at different locations over the years and couldn't wait to try La Familia Wrentham and so glad we did! We arrived this evening about 6:45 ish and it was completely packed. We didn't have reservations and this was a last minute decision and figured we'd never get a seat. The good news is we were thrilled to see how busy it was on a night like tonight where you would think many were not heading out. We passed by other restaurants we have been to in the past in the area and they were empty. Seeing this place thriving like this tells us it's going to be good! We had to wait a bit for a seat in the bar area, but it was well worth it. We started with the potato skins and the eggplant stack (a La Familia specialty). Potato skins were crispy and good and the eggplant stack was, as always, crispy and tasty and so so good (I make this myself and this is probably better than mine I must admit lol). I've had it elsewhere and it's always those frozen patties from BJs LOL or not a crispy crust and just plain eggplant/no batter crust and that's not very good at all. My husband got the steak tips and I got the Fettuccine Alfredo. The steak tips were tasty and cooked to perfection. The veggie side and the mashed were hot and great. My fettuccini was excellent and included a wine/garlic tasty sauce that was just perfection. It was huge and it will feed you for 3 meals! I've had it at other restaurants and many don't get it right and end up making it too thick with a flour base that ruins the taste and the dish altogether - not happening here! This dish was amazing! Service and bar staff/drinks were perfection! If you get the chance and are in the area, we highly recommend La Familia. You won't be disappointed and you will definitely return time and time again!!! read more
