We wanted to try a new place, and I love French dishes. The food is the main attraction here by far. My wife tried the Beef Bourguignon and I had the Sole. Both very very good. The sole was lightly breaded and cooked in a delicious lemon butter sauce--loved every bite. Wife thought the beef was great--very tender and flavorful. Service was pleasant but on the slow side. They need to hire an assistant for the server to provide support and more prompt refilling of water and butter etc. The decor is sparse and looks kind of tired. Might want to spruce it up a bit. At the advice of friends, I went to Restaurant Bonjour, a small French restaurant kind of hidden in a small plaza on Pine Ridge Road. It was a great decision. The restaurant makes good use of their limited size so reservations are the best plan. There is nothing limited about the quality of the food or the portion size. It was delicious. I had the filet de sole amandine. It was served with haricot ver and mashed potatoes. I also followed with crème brûlée which was also delicious. The nice warm crunch led to a very creamy custard. The final nice part was that the prices are quite reasonable compared to so many Naples restaurants. I look forward to my next visit. read more

This is my second time coming to this restaurant. Since my wife loves French food, I find this to be probably Naples well kept secret when it comes to French cuisine and not overcharging. The service is absolutely wonderful and attentive and the food is ALWAYS well prepared. I know I will be a repeat customer for sure. A newly discovered gem to which i shall return. We love good, authentic and fairly priced french food and we finally found just that in Naples. According to my husband, the absolute best country pate; bread was fabulous . The duck was cooked perfectly with a light berry sauce the side. Beef bourguignon very good as well. Terrific selection of wines ( Gigondas was excellent). Once inside the place transforms to an inviting dining experience. Waitstaff couldn't be nice and the owner knows what's what. My Wife researched our dinner spot for last night in Naples. We wanted some French Onion and had tried https://m.facebook.com/bistrolabaguettenaples the last time we were here. Upon reading some of the reviews posted on various platforms we decided to look elsewhere. On one review about the 77 Year Old's Birthday Party where the Chef yelled at them because they wanted to have 2 bottles of Champagne and Appetizers before ordering their entrees really turned us off... Much to our good fortune she found #restaurantbonjour in Naples and we were so happy about the choice. Very unassuming from the front in a fairly non-descript strip mall Cafe Bonjour impressed us right from the start. Veronique and her colleague that we didn't get the name of (she reminded me of a young Audrey Hepburn) were so inviting, friendly, & accommodating. The tables are set with beautifully painted plates for setting and each table had a different pair of cute salt & pepper shakers. Yes, each table had salt & pepper shakers so you don't have to feel gauche in requesting them once you'be tasted what you've orders and to your taste becomes better with a little additional seasoning. I had the Country Pate & Greens with Cornichons which Toni joking referred to as Spam. I loved it! My Wife ordered the Escargot which she does most places it is offered. She thought the Escargot at #RestaurantBonjour was the #BestSheHadEverHad Each of these Apps paired with quite possibly the #BestEverFrenchBaguette which we enjoyed two servings of got everything started out really right. Because we had a late lunch she went for the #FrenchOnionSoup as here entree which she also thought the Best Ever as well. I went Big with the #RackOfLamb which as you can see from the posted photo was Cooked to Perfection... We had Espresso and took a break prior to ordering Bernard's Favorite Tart for Dessert which this evening was Apple and another Home Run. We had wolfed most of it down before rembering to snap a picture of the Tart. Lord knows when we'll be back to #NaplesFlorida but when we do come back we will be going back to try some of the other Fare at #RestaurantBonjour. Attentive and friendly service. My friend and I split a bottle of delicious wine and enjoyed our salads immensely (endive and the goat cheese). We each had the sole. It was good - a different coating than we have had at other spots. Would definitely recommend a tad more beurre blanc and for it to be on the fish as the potato sucked it up. Cafe Bonjour is a bit of a gem but it has its "off" nights when Chef Bernard is away. Of the 4 times we've dined here, he's only been in the kitchen once, which was our first meal there. Since then, there have been items not available, each main dish comes with mashed potatoes and a vegetable (no choices) and while the prices are more reasonable than most in Naples, specials are priced over $50 and wine starts at $11 a glass. So for two of us with wine, specials and salads to start, it came to nearly $200 including tip. Naples pricey. Veronique, the manager, is attentive and offers an authentic French. vibe. read more

My husband and I love French food and have been to every french restaurant in town and Bonjour is by far the BEST one. From the second to walk into the restaurant they make you feel like you are welcome. I love the Duck it's the best I've ever had. My husband also loved his dish which was the filet mignon. During a recent visit to Naples we decided to step off the property at Naples Grande Beach Resort for a meal. We didn't want to take on the drive to Old Naples so we looked for places in the area and Restaurant Bonjour came to the top of our list. We love French food and from our research online the menu and vibe seemed about right for our relaxed mood. We were greeted by Veronique as we entered and she was our constant companion for a cozy, delicious evening. My wife went with an impeccable duck presentation and after quizzing Veronique about the Coq au Vin she steered me to a delicious lamb chop special with a rich, garlic butter sauce. No shrinking violet, Veronique took command of our wine pairing recommending an exceptional and well priced Gigondas that hit the mark with both mains. Our opener was spinach and goat cheese salad was well prepared with an interesting dressing with a hard to identify ingredient that Veronique playfully refused to share...oh la la. Desert was a molten apple Tatin tarte with ice cream that delivered a memorable bookend to our meal. We were among the last tables seated that evening and so got a chance to watch the wind down as the chef came out and saluted us while enjoying a well earned glass of wine by the bar. It was a peak behind the curtain of a neighborhood gem. We were surprised, amazed and delighted by Restaurant Bonjour from the moment we walked in the door. Totally unpretentious yet lovely, it was as if we had stepped into a local eatery smack dab in the middle of France, where everyone knew one another and you just knew every meal was made with love. Do not miss the French Onion Soup! it is the real deal! I am not really a big eater, but I found myself mopping the bottom of the bowl it was that good! The duck was plentiful, meaty, tender and not too fatty. The sole was perfectly prepared and presented-and yes, I ate every morsel, moaning, "This is so good" at every bite.. But there was so much more on the menu that was equally delicious I'm sure. Just as we were finishing, the chef came out from the kitchen holding a giant apple pear tart warm from the oven to show everyone. It was a work of art! Of course we had to try it and it was fabulous. So was the espresso! And the prices were fair and reasonable. I just spent a wonderful evening with my husband at one of our favorite restaurants in Naples! We had a delicious meal.. starting with French onion soup for him, fabulous lentil soup for me with the addition of hot, crusty French bread! We shared en entre of very crispy duck.. ample portion to share, and we each had sides of delicious whipped sweet potatoes and green beans! No room for dessert, but I know it would have also been great! Took my Grandma- ma here who lived in France. She had the frog legs extra crispy thank you very much and I the beef bourguignon. Each entrée were perfect and exactly how they should be. Grandma-ma gave her complements to the chief- in French. The other patrons were treated like regulars, for we to were treated like we stop by all the time. It brought my grandma back to younger days and I saw a sparkle in her eye of happy times. Thank you for the wonderous night. We look forward to it again soon. read more

I found this place a couple of months ago with my s/o. I am SO glad we did! It is our new favorite spot and I tell everyone, or bring anyone, I can. Country French cooking at its best. I gravitate towards their hearty meats and root vegetable dishes which are seasoned and cooked to perfection. Rack of lamb and boeuf bourguignon stand out. Few places offer such wines as Cote du Rhone by the glass or wonderful French beer. This is a simple establishment in the corner unit of an understated strip mall with owners as chef/host/server at your service. You will be greeted warmly and they will remember you on your return. You will be disappointed about two things only, but they're important: the bread (tolerable but a pity) and the price (outrageous, as even during season we don't see pricing like theirs). I cook a lot, so this is one of our favorite escapes for a delicious meal out. read more

We started with the French onion soup with melted gruyere cheese and spinach salad with almond crusted goat cheese - both amazing!!! For entrees we tried the diver sole and beef bourguignon. So my wife and I are visiting her parents here in Naples. My mother-in-law suggested Restaurant Bonjour for dinner. I just had their half duck for my dinner. IT IS AMAZING!!! We are from San Francisco , which is known for having amazing restaurants. However, I have only had duck served this crispy once in my life. Usually restaurants only give you a half breast, sliced and served with a blubbery semi crispy skin. Bonjour's duck was so crispy and not fatty at all. Absolutely one of the best I've had. My mother in law had the Cornish hen and loved it as well. My wife had three of the largest lamb ribs we've seen! Highly recommend trying Restaurant Bonjour. Visiting from NJ. I got the chicken special, my father got the snapper special and my husband got the filet mignon special. All were delicious. We got in super early, around 5 pm. We got a lot of personal attention because of our early arrival on a Saturday. However, there is only one waitress. The restaurant was packed as we were leaving, and we did notice that other tables were not receiving the same attention we had. I'd definitely recommend going for a very early dinner just so that you do get that extra attention. Again, Food was delicious. read more

We came on a quiet night and were greeted warmly. The tomato salad was tasty and refreshing. My wife's frog legs dish was outstanding and my filet mignon with melted foie gras was very tasty. We spent quite some good time chatting with the chef and waitress who were disappointed when we had to leave. We were too full to order any dessert, but the waitress brought out a complimentary chocolate mousse anyway. I had just taken my French class and with visions of my upcoming trip to France I impulsively decided to try a restaurant I had passed by many times where my wife had eaten with one of her dear friends. I had not made a reservation but it was 6:00 in the evening on a weekday and I hoped perhaps they might have a place for me. Even though it is in a dark strip mall on busy Pine Ridge Road, the small charm of the place transported me back to the many lovely family-run bistros my wife and I have enjoyed throughout France. For me, the tables were perfectly set with crisply-folded cloth napkins, brightly colored plates and shining silverware. The extensive display of wine bottles added a cheery note to the minimalist design of the place, which appealed to me. The place was less than half full and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Luckily, my wife had warned me that the hostess/waitress who "greets" you was unwelcoming and curt to a fault...so I was prepared when she said challengingly, "Do you have a reservation?" with a severe look. There was no, "Welcome to Restaurant Bonjour!" Nor even, "Bonjour!" I explained to her that this was my first time here and just decided to come at the last moment after taking a French class. She didn't respond and just walked over to the counter and stared at something that I later realized was her reservation/seating chart. She walked over to three tables pushed together by the door and pulled one away saying, "You have to leave by 7:30! I have reservations coming at 7:30." The definition of how a hostess is supposed to welcome a guest to a restaurant seems never to have been explained to her. She seemed to want me to take the seat that would put me directly in line with anyone walking in the door which was only a few feet away, so I chose the other seat. Understand that if I had not been in a particularly good mood and had already been pre-warned, I certainly would have left the restaurant never to return... at least until a new hostess took over. Bread was soon served and I ordered the sole amandine that came with Jasmine rice, almonds, white wine butter sauce and green beans. It was quite good, as was their cappuccino. There were two men there. The younger man, also French, was a server who was very pleasant and accommodating. The other gentleman said his father was the owner. He also had a pleasant personality, circulating to see that everyone was having a good time. Would I return? Not unless I start reading reviews indicating that the present hostess/waitress has improved her attitude or has been replaced. Why would you want to be greeted in such a cold manner when there are so many wonderful local restaurants where the owners and their staff welcome you warmly, such as Mediterrano where you are greeted like family, Chez Boet where the owner's personality sparkles, Bha Bha, Cafe Milano, Tommy Bahama...on and on? read more

As the name implies, the restaurant is run by Mimi, a kind French woman from the Lyon area of France. The restaurant is small but has a nice atmosphere, and the staff is extremely friendly. The food, I'm afraid, is seriously overpriced and not very good. If you are looking for standard French fare, you won't get it here. The food definitely has a French flair, but they seem to have tried too hard to Americanize it. You're going to pay through the nose here for what amounts to a ham and cheese sandwich in a baguette. The best part of the menu is the dessert, which includes a fantastic crème brûlée. read more

We had a wonderful dinner last night and met the new owner Bernard Massugar (formerly owner of Cosette in New York City). He is warm, friendly and quite enthusiastic about his new venture. His recommendations for our food choices were terrific. My husband had the Calf's Liver and Onions which was divine (witness the absolutely clean plate). My pork piccata was amazing. The pork was as tender as butter, the green beans cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were creamy and tasty. The staff is the same (as when it was Mimi's Cooking). The chef is the same, the ambiance is the same. I do like the new plates on the tables - colorful and very appropriate. While the effervescence of Marie Michelle is not there, the staff and Bernard make up for it by kissing and hugging everyone who comes through the door. Give this quaint, romantic place a try, the food is amazing. We wish you well Bernard and will see you many, many more times. read more

After reading the restaurant information online my friend (who is also a fellow Francophile) and I stopped in for lunch. Le dejeuner etait magnique and reminded me of many meals I enjoyed in France. The spinach and goat cheese quiche was so light it could melt in your mouth; the dressing on the greens was excellent; and the warm apple tart was a delightful ending. 5 stars for a cute little French dining experience tucked away in Naples. The restaurant is pretty small, I would say it's 10 tables or less. We decided to spend our Christmas Eve dinner here while visiting relatives for the holidays. I had a wonderful dining experience. There was only one (super sweet & super French) waitress to go around the entire restaurant, but she was fantastic & did a great job explaining specials of the day and clarifying any questions we had about the dishes. Multiple loaves of bread were set on the table with butter, and service was fast whenever we requested a refill on it. Of course, we ordered a bottle of Merlot to enjoy while we waited for our entrees to arrive. Everyone raved about their meals! I ordered the ginger salmon & loved every bite of it. I also had a bite of the Fresh snapper which was delicious as well. If you want a great French dining experience, from the hospitality to the dishes, come to Restaurant Bonjour. read more

Not called Mimi's Cooking anymore...Mimi sold the restaurant to a nice french gentleman in 2013. Still has a "french-cafe" feel even if it's directly next to the Hess Gas station. The staff is still super friendly and never tries to "move you along". To the American mind the place might seem pricey; we Americans expect to get huge servings of food for our $20. Maybe that's why Americans are the most overweight people in the world. What you get here are french-sized portions; it's enough food, thank you. If you're visiting and/or traveling with your parents take them here, they'll love it. I especially recommend the French Onion soup...I had it today and it was all I needed for lunch. read more
