Great hidden gem in Naples!! Even though it's tucked away in a shopping center with Big Lots, this is a very nice fine dining restaurant with upscale service. I went on a Sunday evening so it was practically empty. The decor was high end and classic. The atmosphere is very leisurely and reminded me of a true authentic French restaurant. All of our dishes were prepared well. The sauce with my duck was so rich and smooth. The portions were huge and I ended up only eating half. The beet salad was so well balanced with the earthiness and sweetness of the beets, creamy goat cheese and tangy vinaigrette. The almonds added a great texture. For dessert, I had the grand marnier soufflé. So decadent and light at the same time. I could tell the technique was perfect and soufflés can be tricky. All around, these guys know what they are doing and provide a nearly perfect dining experience.

Everything we had was delicious. The classic escargot was exactly as it should be and had plenty of garlic butter to enjoy with bread. The sauce on the escargot from the monks was so creamy and rich. The branzino had a very flavorful sauce and was light and tender. The sides with the branzino could be updated a bit (plain white rice and asparagus and carrots). Profiteroles were huge and very tasty. Coffee service comes on a fancy silver tray and makes you feel like you're in Paris. Tables feel a bit too close together - kind of like manhattan seating. Very good service. Highly recommend.

Wow! Have to say, very under rated. Family of six and not a single person not 100% satisfied!! This is very hard task to accomplish. The staff were polite and accommodating as can be. I personally had the ribeye that was on special for the night and was cooked to perfection. My wife had the sole wrapped around shrimp and scallops. We will be visiting again!

My friends and I had dinner at Escargot 41. It was a fancy place - know that before you stop in, because we were underdressed. It's also expensive, but well worth it for a special occasion or date night. The interior is beautiful. Very fancy atmosphere. The waiter wore a tie. Super nice ambiance. Very intimate and quiet. The food was SPECTACULAR! As was the service and presentation. I had the scallops and shrimp (Fruit something...) which was absolutely amazing, as were the traditional escargot. We all enjoyed our meals and apps, except that one friend's fillet came out over cooked, then raw... then raw again... She ended up ordering the scallop dish instead, but the owner was very apologetic and comped her meal. We will all definitely be revisiting, as we had an excellent time. The food was well worth the price. I highly recommend.

An excellent choice when in search of an intimate setting and fine French cuisine. The dining room achieves it's atmosphere by using up-lights that aren't too dimmed to read the menu. White tablecloths and English China suggest that your own manners be polished while you are here. I was happy to spot Canard Roti (roast duck) included with the entrees. My grandmother used to make this for me, so the dish was savored with nostalgia along with the delicious plum sauce. A timbale of potato mashed with herb was plated alongside the crispy duck with perfectly sized haricots verts (green beans), bunched and inserted into a circle of zucchini. Beautiful. With a fifteen minute notice, I was rewarded with a hot tarte aux pommes (apple tart), a la mode. Staff were very attentive and friendly, in an appropriately upscale kind of way. A very enjoyable dining experience!

Ordered medium rare. Received well done.

There isn't a day since then that I don't think about that evening and the great dinner we all had. It was our fourth and last dinner together, we had not been thrilled by any restaurant in the area and I decided to search for 5 star Spanish restaurants in honor of Spain win. Well it did not disappoint. In fact it exceeded all our expectations! The ambiance is striking as you walk in, it throws you off with paintings all over and tables arranged with different style chairs, some with booths and in general old style. I must say it could have been the worst evening. The hostess/waitress/daughter of the owner, Sophia offered to sit us at a mixed table (chairs/booth) . Tables had to be moved and arranged, and the setup was not working out due to multiple issues, sitting between tables and 2 booth chairs, sunlight couldn't be blocked and was bothering one side of the table, and the group was a bit uptight after a negative experience the previous day. So I spoke up and said out loud that the seating wasn't working out. We must have been making somewhat of a scene and the owner/chef, John, came out to check on us, and calm the waters. We were kindly accommodated at a different table right in the middle of the restaurant. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and as soon as they left, the restaurant was all for us! I can't say enough about the food! We started with a few tapas, we shared a paella and others ordered their own entree. Everything was so amazing that we all ended up trying everybody's food. The food had this special taste....basque/french touch from the owners culinary origins. Sophia and John, served us like kings , and handled the situation at the beginning with flying colors. Super friendly, housewarming, and professional. Do not leave before you try the Basque torta. It's like a basque cheesecake. I dream about it every day. Take another piece to go, or you will regret it like we did, when we couldn't go back for more!

El Basque is one of those hidden gems you're excited to discover. Looking for an easy dinner one…read morenight, we decided to take food home, and it ended up being one of the best takeout meals we've had in a long time. We ordered the paella for four with skirt steak, white asparagus, and saffron rice. The portion size was unbelievable. Not only did it feed us dinner that night, but I enjoyed the leftovers for six meals afterward. The saffron rice was rich and flavorful, the skirt steak was tender, and the white asparagus added a nice touch that made the dish feel special. For dessert, we brought home the Basque cheesecake with fig sauce. It was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness from the fig sauce. Many people rave about the cheesecake, and after trying it myself, I understand why. It was absolutely delicious. We also picked up a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine for $25 each. Both wines paired beautifully with the food and made our takeout dinner feel a little more special. What impressed me most was how well everything traveled. The food tasted as good at home as it would have in a restaurant, and the generous portions meant we enjoyed El Basque for days. Great food, great value, and a meal that kept on giving. We'll definitely be back.

The first couple years we moved to Naples, this was my go to seafood restaurant (for date night,…read moreNYE, guest visits, etc). Absolutely love the Chilean sea bass. Last couple of years, we have been going to new restaurants in the area with varying results. My niece sent me a gift certificate for Christmas since she remembered when I brought her here with her family. I am glad she did since it reminded me how delicious the food is and how attentive the servers/staff are. We started with appetizers (foil gras and caprese salad). For our main entrees, I ordered the halibut special, and my husband got the seafood risotto. Both were delicious. Though I preferred the Chilean sea bass, the halibut was cooked well (buttery, flaky, etc) and came with lighter sides than the Chilean sea bass. The risotto was creamy with lots of seafood. Very good selection of wines by the glass. Overall, we had a very good meal and a pleasant evening. Since we didn't came here for their early dining specials, the check total was a bit pricey but is within reason for a 5th avenue restaurant. We Will definitely come back again.

Perhaps the most unique and forgettable meal I have ever had in US! I arrived in Naples Friday…read moreevening and was craving for food. Head to fifth ave. Unfortunately many restaurants there were fully seated and fortunately I got one in Bistro 821. I sat next to a couple and they asked me to join them soon after I just ordered my food. It was the second time that I was invited to have meal with strangers but the first time that I actually did that!!! Nervous at first but it turned out to be unforgettable. We chatted everything from food, sports, cities, cars, to more serious things like human and AI. They also recommended several sightseeing spots around the town so I really appreciate it! For food, I got the wagyu sirloin pot roast as entree. Good but not awesome. It came with two huge pieces and a scoop of mashed potatoes and two carrots and green beans. The meat was OK, the sauce was a bit too thick and I thought it was not a good idea to put both savory and sweet sauce on the meat. The mashed potatoes could be creamier. I did like the veggies as they were not oily, nor overly seasoned, thus paired well with the already-heavy meat and sauce. I also got a side of asparagus and it was good. Complimentary bread was delicious. When I finished my entree, the husband just suggested that we get some dessert. So.... After nearly 2 years without sweet food, I finally got some dark chocolate cake with ice cream. An amazing experience! Even though the food was not as good as I expected I should still give it 5 stars lol
