Being a restaurant owner and a connoisseur of Veal, the Chop I had at Bonjour was second to no one! Excellent!!

The food is excellent. We had the filet mignon was excellent. The coque au vin theat my wife had was also superb. There was 12 of us and a few kids. They treated us great. - good food at a comfortable, casual French café off of the beaten path I wish i could have given it 3 &1/2 stars. Bonjour used to be Mimi's Cooking. Marie retired this past Spring, 2013. It was purchased by a past employee of hers, Bernard. He has owned & operated French restaurants in New York city, too. Almost nothing has changed such as the decor & the menu. Even the chef & the wait staff are the same. So if you liked Mimi's Cooking you will not be disappointed. In the past Rich & I have enjoyed the coq a vin, beef dishes, veal chop & the calves liver. Rich had the Caesar salad as his starter. It had more of a vinaigrette flavor than the traditional Caesar. This is different from our other visits in the past. To see if it had changed, Rich had the coq a vin again. As I observed in my initial review, this is not a creamy rendition of this classic. Instead it comes in a nicely seasoned broth. They have added bits of bacon in it, as well. As before, Rich really enjoyed it. I wanted to test the escargot. The menu still states that it is in a wine cream sauce. Bernard has reverted this preparation back to the more traditional in garlic butter. It was good but not superb & four out of the six snails were a bit chewy. There are better in town. I went on to have the sole almondine. I don't have much to say about it. There was nothing wrong with it & it was good but rather bland & plain. Service was superb probably because, due to being a Monday night, not many people were there. Marie had a loyal following that kept the place packed. Let's see if Bernard can keep a good thing going. The prices here are not shy for such an unpretentious café but it's cheaper than Fifth Ave. The proximity to our home & decent experiences means that we will return. read more

We went here for dinner tonight and the food and service were amazing. They were very accommodating for our children ages 12 and 14. My husband and I ordered the special red snapper that was so fresh it tasted as if it jumped from the water to our plate. The sauce a bernaise was so tasty and not overly salty. This restaurant was so much better than the over priced over salted and processed restaurants in more trendy areas. So glad we went here. So nice to actually shake hands with the waiter and not have a sweaty harried waiter. Waitress gave excellent wine recommendations. read more

Mimi's Cooking is one of Naples truly hidden gems! From the outside appearance you wouldn't think that the food is comparable to that of fancy french restaurants. The ambiance is cozy, casual and friendly. I always have the french onion soup for starters because once you've had it, it's hard to go for something different.! Love the crab salad, the mushroom penne pasta and all the delicious croissants that will make your decision process a hard one :) Highly recommended. Ok not since The Chardonnay closed years ago could you get perfect French cuisine in Naples until Restaurant Bonjour opened. This is the place! They are closing for Summer recess but will be back in September. I gave them 4 Stars because no liquor but the wine selection is superb. Forget Old Naples so so French Restaurants. Overcooked salmon, cold beans, snapper swimming in butter, dry duck, grainy steak (purchased at Publix according to the server). The server agreed the salmon was overcooked, and the meat was grainy as uneaten food was cleared. We'll never go back!! read more

We dined at this restaurant last evening. We were a party of 8 and had excellent, attentive service. We tasted different appetizers, the Pate was delicious, the tomato salad also. We asked to share the salad and it was nicely brought to us split on two plates. We tried several different dishes, the lamb chops, beef bourguignon, red snapper--all delicious. We drank 4 bottles of wine and ordered two desserts for the table and were very pleasantly surprised that the bill was very reasonable. We will go back again. read more

This is about average for traditional French cuisine. It does not reflect recent pan-fusions that are creeping into New French Cuisine, nothing from France's N. African cultures, heck it doesn't even offer the very traditional Salad Nicoise. I'll keep an eye on this, but think there are better more fun places for the money. read more

We had lunch. Nice ambience. Good crowd. Good service. Mixed on food. Salads seem the way to go. I had their ham and cheese on a croissant. One of my tests of French cafés is the quality of the bread. They disappointed me. The croissant was a big soft tasteless roll. The ham was Publix quality. My wife and I found this little Gem 2 months ago. We have dined here many times since. It has undoubtedly the best Eggs Benedict i have ever eaten. I had friends in for the holiday and they dined here and alternated between lunch and breakfast. They agreed what a fabulous place. The soups are out of this world. The salads are incredible. Top quality ingredients are used in everything. i have never eaten a better croissant The service is superb. It is the best breakfast in Naples. I would highly recommend this for yourself. Worst French food ever. I have been to many French restaurants and this one was by far the worst. The salad was soggy and limp. The pate was rubbery. Our food was brought out at different times. Service was poor. The waitress was pushy and it seemed as if she wanted to sit down at the table with us and join us. read more

Ate at Mimi's last night and found the food wonderful and NOT overpriced. I had the onion soup and my husband had the crabmeat salad as an appetizer - both delicious. For the main course he had the filet of sole with almonds, and I had the Coq au Vin and for desert we shared the peach melba. A truly great experience! read more

My mother and I frequent luncheons at Mimi's and love the specials offered daily. Our absolute favorite dish is Mimi's Chicken Waldorf Salad. The dressing which has a balsamic base is to die for! Mimi's staff are extremely attentive and Mimi herself prancing around from table to table hugging and kisses all of her customers as if we were in her home. This is a small restuarant that serves great food. The atmosphere is very simple and plain . The food is as good as it gets .

The food is flat out great. Have been several times with the wifey, we've tried many different things on the menu, and each time I think I've had the best dish possible! Excellent choice if you love great food in a casual atmosphere. Don't let the strip mall setting scare you off. The food is overwhelmingly great. Know that there are items not on the menu (not specials); just ask. The pork medallions is the newest latest awesome dish, but you won't see it listed. read more

I recently visited Mimi's Cooking again and she didn't disappoint. This is the third time I've been there during my Naples visit. The food is amazing. I had a free-range chicken breast with an amazing sweet potato puree, and a delicious chocolate mousse dessert and of course wonderful wine list.This place is in a strip mall and you wouldn't think it would be this great. French owner Marie Michelle (she's hot too) and French staff make it even more awesome. It's a small space so not noisy. LOVED IT! read more

The secret to Mimi's is that the owner* ran the best French restaurant in Naples for 14 years, and with one of her chefs, decided to downsize to this perfect "cafe" where you will find excellent food served by a charming staff who will not bump you off the table for the waiting line outside! Named after her mother Mimi, Marie-Michelle* is attentive to every detail on the floor and in kitchen, and for those of us who return often, she'll greet us by name. To decoy the parking lot, outside seating is surrounded by beautiful tropical plants all along the terrace. Just as affordable as any other place in town! read more

Delicious, authentic French cuisine in a neighborhood setting. Ignore the strip mall because once inside you are absorbed by the marvelous soups, salads and croissant sandwiches. Dinner includes sole amandine and cog at vin. Our favorite lunch is the leek and potato soup with a half Waldorf Chicken Salad with fresh poached chicken breast, freshly sliced apple and greens with a creamy balsamic dressing. Veronique is charming and the diners are regulars. Can't miss! read more
