    Shrimp & Octopus combo plate
    Hella T.

This place is a hidden gem. It's a small local seafood joint, just a few blocks inland from Malecon. The owner (pictured on the wall) a diver, brings in the daily catch. They have fish, shrimp, octopus, snail and lobster. The menu is posted on the wall in both english and spanish. For the plate, you decide how you want it cooked (grilled, spicy, garlic, breaded, garlic w/ guajillo chill or butter). I got the combo plate, octopus and shrimp with garlic. It comes with garlic bread, rice, pickled cabbage and grilled veggies. Everything was so good, the shrimp and octopus were cooked perfectly. Tasted so tender and juicy. The garlic flavor was so simple yet tasty. The combo was $210 pesos and everything else is under 200 except the lobster was market price. We also tried the Stingray Machaca, it tasted like fish. I love this place! Great local seafood that was a bit off the beaten path. The family that runs the place are super friendly. It is not fancy but you'll feel like like a local when eating here. It is a must try in PV.

I'm a fan after just one visit to this small, family-run seafood place just a few blocks off the Malecon. They have a small menu of mostly shrimp, fish, octopus and langoustine most of which you can get grilled or sautéed with garlic butter or ajillo style which is garlic and mild guajillo chiles. I chose a combo plate of garlic shrimp and ajillo octopus. Shrimp was good but octopus was incredible especially with a squeeze of lime and a spoonful of hot salsa as the ajillo sauce is mild but richly flavored. Good coleslaw accompanied the seafood, along with sliced tomato and cucumber and disappointingly soft, flabby garlic bread. Service is casual and fast, but I was the first customer of the day so they were prepared for me. I am so looking forward to going back for langoustine. CASH ONLY and CLOSED SUNDAY SECOND TIME AROUND I somehow love it even more hence the upgrade to FIVE STARS woohoo! I went for a 2:00 PM lunch on Tuesday after a morning souvenir shopping trip to Bucerías. I hadn't eaten breakfast but I never do, so I don't think hunger was a factor in my increased appreciation for the place. I think it's simply that it's a peaceful, humble setting, with good, but laid-back, service. Totally appropriate for this price-point and style of dining. It's clear the family/owners take pride in what they do, and they know they don't have to entice diners with any frills or BS. This time I was looking forward to their famous langoustine but was disappointed when the server told me they won't have any until tomorrow. So I shifted gears and got a combination plate of fish and octopus ajillo-that rich yet simple sauce of oil, garlic and crushed, dried guajillo chile. It came with rice, tangy/sweet coleslaw, and garlic bread which I requested to be crispy. Everything was outstanding except the bread which the restaurant can't be faulted for (alas, I wish they'd use day-old bollilo rolls which are closer in texture to French bread). The rust-red oil from the ajillo sauce was perfect for dipping the bread or mixing the rice into, not to mention rubbing all over the seafood. With judicious squirts of fresh lime juice and spoonfuls of the fabulous red table salsa, I enjoyed every bite of seafood and accompaniments. I had a Squirt soda to go with. The tab was $187 pesos before tip. You might be wondering if I'm planning to return for the langoustine. Hell yeah! And I'll report back with the details. Thank you to fellow Yelpers for turning me on to this place which is my favorite of all the dozen or so places I've tried in my week in PV.

Best local seafood in Puerto Vallarta! It's a family run restaurant on a residential side street. A wide variety of seafood that you won't normally have in the U.S. Very affordable and delicious. Highly recommend this gem off the beaten path!

If you want to stray a little off the beaten path and eat with the locals this is your spot. They have several seafood options fresh catch of the day, shrimp and octopus all cooked 5 different ways. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals, service was nice and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed.

Pulpo ajillo (with one of my husbands lobsters)

Very good local fish restaurant! I had pulpo(octopus). Very tender. My husband had lobster with butter. It was served with rice, coleslaw and 2 whole grilled lobsters cut in half. (4 halves) The fish is very fresh here. We are here for Easter week. It's hopping in here. We also had 2 beers each. Our total bill was $554 pesos plus tip. Wow!! The only have beer and juice. No margaritas. I would return in anytime!! We like small local places where the chef is the owner. This place is a small family run business.

This place was recommended by the woman we were renting from (AirB&B) in Puerto Vallarta, so we tried it the first night we were there. Outstanding! I ordered the octopus prepared with garlic and a couple cervezas. When my order arrived I received a huge plate steaming with the mouth watering aroma of garlic and octopus. It was a lot of food, but I enjoyed every bite. This place feels very authentic. You'll get food prepared unlike anything you get in the States, definitely a good experience. It's also off the beaten path, several blocks up from the waterfront and you better know some Spanish. Next time I'm in PV, I will be sure to dine here again.

However, as me and my friends (it was 4 of us) were leaving the restaurant, our waiter chased us down claiming we did not tip enough. Here's a note from my friend detailing more of what happened: "It was 150 pesos which is a little more than 10% of the total. In Mexico, 10% is completely customary, especially for tourist. Locals will give even less and typically leave only about 50 pesos. I don't know if he was expecting for us to give him more just because we're used to giving 15 or even 20% at a time but I always do at least 10. If it's one of the really nice restaurants where they take care of absolutely everything then I do get more than that but this was just a normal place And I did fold the bills because I clipped it into the checkbook, so there is a chance he thought it was just 50. But to flip out and say it's not enough that he deserves more or just to take it away is crazy in my opinion." We may return, but this really turned a perfect visit into a not so great one in the end. The 3/5 is for food and service, would've been 5/5 had we not been stopped as we were leaving for not "tipping enough".

We came here as a party of 4 for my friend's 40th birthday around 6:30 and caught the most amazing sunset. They had a professional photographer take a complimentary photo for us. The service was impeccable, so welcoming and sweet! All of our dishes were so good. We ordered: octopus, seafood croquette, egg potato, potatoes brava, asparagus, white sangria. The octopus was so tender (maybe the best octopus dish that I've had) and the seafood croquette just melts in your mouth. There was not a dish that I did not like. For dessert we got the orange flan which was so yummy and delightful. and the chocolate lava cake. The sunset view was gorgeous! And the price was very reasonable - we got drinks, dinner and dessert, and the total came out to be $44 per person. I hope to be back!
