The inside of the restaurant felt cozy and it was not too bright at all and decorated kind of like a German pub, and the food was pretty good. They even had the FIFA World Cup on TV. The shopka salad was refreshing and the feta cheese and olives added a nice touch to the salad, and the server served me complimentary bread. I was originally going to get a clay pot dish but the server recommended me to get kebapche and kufte, so I got that instead and it was flavorful and juicy. The fries with feta is a must since the cheese added a nice creamy mouthfeel and the fries were crispy. I noticed that I heard people speak Bulgarian which means that the food is most likely legit and authentic.

I finally came here after having this place on my list for awhile. First things first, the parking situation. To the left of the restaurant, you'll see a parking lot. Do not park in the first 3 rows because the liquor store is strict about it and will have your vehicle towed. The same goes for parking across the street in the empty parking lot. To be on the safe side, park in the 4th and 5th row after the liquor store parking spaces. The restaurant and the repair shop share the same spaces. You can try parking in that big parking lot in the plaza next door but I can't guarantee anything. You can eat inside or outside. We ordered beef tongue with tripe cooked in butter, garlic, and red pepper. We also had chicken roll up, tatar meatball, and the cake Mehanata. There is a 3% convenience fee which is only like $1.77. Prices are typical for this type of food because it's not very common. Service was excellent and very friendly. Portions are huge so you'll be taking home some leftovers. -beef tongue with tripe 5 - I loved this dish. Beef tongue and tripe were soft and tender to eat. Good seasoning. -chicken roll up 4 - I like the concept of the chicken stuffed with ham, pickles, peppers, and cheese inside. However, parts of the chicken were kind of tough and dry. -tatar meatball 5 - I had something similar to this at another Balkan restaurant. Meatball is flavorful with cheese inside and very tender. -cake Mehanata 5 - this is a fig cake with mascarpone. Only slightly sweet due to the chocolate chips, other than that it has a good balance.

I was not so happy this time. It's been a few years since I visited Restaurant Mehanata, so I decided to pay it a visit. This time, things were different. The chicken on the skewer was nearly undercooked. We also got another chicken plate that was seasoned with wine sauce, it was way too salty. Also, a disappointment was that the oil at each table with the rest of the condiments wasn't real olive oil. It was something else, maybe canola or sunflower oil. That could have also been the case when I went a few years ago, but I don't remember. It made me wonder what kind of oil they are grilling the meat with. Because if it is in fact canola or sunflower oil, i would not eat here again since that is generally very bad for you to consume. Either way, i wont take any more chances and i dont think id come back here.

Well this was recommended by a Bulgarian coworker that I didn't know who was Bulgarian because his first name is Yuri. He suggested to other Bulgarian restaurants but he said this was the best one and the only Bulgarian restaurant. I've eaten in Mount prospect was Sophia Grill but it felt more fast food or less formal or less European Ambience. I decided to come here on a bucket list and splurge for a Friday night and I guess you could say I was quite impressed. It has that Eastern European tavern but is also a traditional authentic restaurant although the music they're playing is more American LOL instead of some Eastern Bulgarian music I expected but the people are the customers dining and are Bulgarian as well as the staff originally I was going to get the tripe soup but my server suggested the lambs which I really wanted online but it was supposedly served for Saturday and Sunday until I found out they serve it on Fridays which I was so happy and it was very delicious it was like a comfort food for lamb soup very Hardy flavorful although the soup itself wasn't like a thick bra it was very rich in taste. The next thing I ordered was the chicken liver and it did taste like liver usually I assume chicken liver and onions was not sold tasty like beef liver and onions there were two variations one had extra virgin olive but again my server suggested having just plain liver and onions cooked in butter instead of olive oil the other one had extra ingredients that made it more stewy he said. Just FYI most of the dishes here are quite pricey you're spending between 18.99 to $25 or more I tried to keep it within my means and since I went to Sophia grill they did have the Bulgarian link sausage or karache. Compared to Sophia grill the way they cooked it was much better in texture and taste. I wanted to get some side orders of mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables but my weight or suggested to get sauteed potato cuts it was just the meh okay I should have gotten the steam vegetables with which look delicious one thing I do give credit is that they do get very Hardy dishes for how much you pay for. Otherwise I would come back cuz I saw other dishes I've never had like chicken hearts that seems intriguing and when I have more money I probably might splurge on the tartar meatball which is a familiar dish or a seafood dish I shall see those days when I used to go out and my parents were living in Chicago I would have done this in a heartbeat but now that I pay rent and have to live the reality of other people paying a rent it's going to probably be a while otherwise do come here just very expensive for authentic Bulgarian. Also noted parking can be a little tricky if they have a busy night you could park across the other side of the street in the parking lot with a pet supplies Plus or another bar or plaza across the street

Had a variety of "appetizers" like the potato croquettes, crispy cheese bites w/ blueberry jam, breaded mozzarella cheese, the combination platter (yogurt salad, katak spicy cheese and fish). Everything was amazing! We had the Specialty Combo for dinner (Chicken (thighs, kebab, kufte, kebapche) pork (chops, kebab, kufte, kebapche, karnache, sausage) since there were 6 of us and we couldn't finish it, even though we tried! The variety of meats were so good! We will definitely be back. Also, two thumbs up to our waiter who explained how the menu works and recommended all these dishes, he made our experience one of the best ones ever!

Britos Beer. Very good light lager.

My first Bulgarian restaurant! Pork and beef skewers with seasoned potatoes. So simple yet amazing. Great interior and has outdoor seating. Staff were very friendly and helpful in making good choices.

Very tasty dishes, respect to the chef! Nice atmosphere. But disgusting service. The waitress was unkind, treated me with disdain. Of course, I left a tip, because I am a good tiper, but the place clearly loses in service

New ! Grilled octopus and calamari. Soooo fresh, tasty.

We ordered beef tongue, cheese bites mix, seafood mix, Balkan style meats, lamb chops, skirt steak, garash cake, creme brûlée. Portion sizes are large and great for sharing with friends or family. We did family style and shared everything. Prices were fair. Overall 4.5. -beef tongue 5 - kind of expensive but worth it. One of the best appetizers to get. Tons of flavor and very little chewing. -cheese bites mix 5 -feta and mozzarella cheese. The mozzarella sticks look different from your average American version. The cheese pull is not as stretchy but it's still well made. -seafood mix 5 - very fresh seafood. Perfect if you want to try a variety. The seafood is tender and moist. -Balkan style meats 4 - I love Balkan meats but the pork chop was painfully dry. The other meats were moist and robust. -lamb chops 5 - lamb chops cooked beautifully medium. Use the sauce provided. The rice was also very good. -skirt steak 5 - very tasty meat. It wasn't dry, cooked medium. Risotto was delicious. -garash cake 5 - The cake was light, not super rich. It's very good. -creme brûlée 5 - very creamy version of the creme brûlée. I never had one this creamy before.

The food tastes homemade and prepared with so much care and love. My daughter completely fell in love with the syrniki -- they were honestly some of the best we've had. I also tried the pumpkin soup, which instantly became my favorite. My husband ordered the Nordic omelet, and when my husband compliments food, trust me, that's the highest praise possible! One of the biggest highlights for us is the amazing play area for kids. Anyone who has breakfast with young children knows that once they're done eating, they want to run and play. Here, kids have a beautiful playroom where they can have fun while parents can actually relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. Another thing we really appreciated was the wonderful staff. The girls who served us were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was especially helpful that they spoke both English and Russian. My daughter doesn't speak much English yet, and my husband doesn't speak Russian, so having staff who could communicate with both of them made us feel even more comfortable and welcome. And a special thank you to the owners for being open on Mondays! So many places in Long Grove are closed at the beginning of the week, and it's such a treat to have somewhere cozy to enjoy a great breakfast. Highly recommend Fluffy Bunny to anyone looking for delicious food, great coffee, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a place that genuinely makes you feel at home.

I was ready to start sharing with friends/family but I'm glad I waited. The restaurant is tucked into a historic house in long grove, so the layout/seating areas are cramped. The drink selection is limited and my wine was warm. Our food came and they completely forgot my husband's side of roasted vegetables, so he ate just a steak with raw button mushrooms atop. My salad was great, filling, and flavorful. My great assumption and hope is that they make the roasted turkey in house. But it was very similar to thick cut lunch meat. Our server was very slow to check in and with the previously mentioned misses, we left a bit underwhelmed.

On a weekday evening, as expected, the restaurant was not busy.  We were promptly seated at a 4-top table (2 × 2-top) against the right wall, with some other 2-tops on both sides.  Like many reviewers had mentioned, the venue was beautiful, modern and chic. There were 7 tables occupied, including us.  The music that they had was not too loud, just that customers' conversations were amplified by the box shape open dining area.  If we focused enough, we could hear every conversation if we wanted to.  This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly.  My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us.  However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive.  Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks.  After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango.  He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor.  It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable.  He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner.  The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste.  The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.  I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good!  My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too.  He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value.  He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too.  We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly.  We ordered a takeout order of Rigatoni with Sausage ($23), that was a good portion, and was still delicious and al dente the next day after being microwaved. I am so happy that we found Social Inn - a hidden gem in Plaza del Prado, it's not far from home, with comfortable and beautiful ambiance, excellent service (from Patrick), an attractive menu with enticing food (fresh ingredients and appealing plating), and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!

Admittedly, I'm not an expert in Polish cuisine, but this restaurant has greatly increased my interest in trying more! Outside of the food, there's many things to like about this restaurant. The decor is nice and modern, and the presentation of the food is good for this price point. The restaurant is comfortable and good for sitting in for a while, with service that is extremely friendly. This reminds me of another excellent restaurant A Thousand Tales, where we are treated like family on every visit - even on the first visit there. It's very clear how proud the staff is of the restaurant and the food they serve, and they take the effort to explain the food to the diner. Fortunately, the food is just as good as it looks. I've been looking for food that's prepared from scratch with high quality ingredients that aren't reliant on heavy sauces, and this really hit the mark. Everything from the bread with herbs and butter to the delicious soups was prepared fresh and tasty. Similarly, with the chips and salsa - it was clear that this was homemade with a great flavor to match. Unsurprisingly, the pastor tacos were full of flavor, with a generous amount of slightly fatty pork, fresh cilantro, and onions served with fresh lime. These were some of the best tacos I've had in recent memory from any restaurant, and I am definitely a huge fan of the preparation (the sweetness of the pineapple juice perfectly matched the bold mix of spices). The sampler platter was also a great option which gave a mix of many different items. The goulash was delicious with the mushrooms and sautee pepper. The pierogis had the perfect firmness and delicious filling. The sausage was flavorful and juicy. The potato pancakes could've been a bit more crisp but the flavor was still good. The breaded pork schnitzel was tasty and had just the right amount of breading. Overall, definitely recommend going to this spot for anything that's looking for high quality made from scratch food at a reasonable price point. The great service and elegant interior is a bonus on top of a very enjoyable and filling meal.
