The mozzarella sticks were unbelievable! They are huge and made with fresh ingredients with a slight garlic taste making them all the more tasty. The eggplant napoleon was great too. It reminded me of having dinner back home with my family on Sunday nights. I ordered the chicken piccata, and the three other dishes were 2 filets mignon and the Cajun chicken ravioli. All the food tasted magical. All of our entrees came with a salad, and we all opted for the antipasto salad with the homemade Italian dressing. I have never seen anything like that for a side salad before. Two thumbs up. All the staff from the moment we walked in were very friendly, warm, and welcoming. We did notice that the chef was wandering around, shmoozing with his "regulars" and didn't spend any time in the kitchen... which we found interesting. After chatting at the bar for over 40 min, we finally asked about our food order - a burger and a single steak. The bartender, who again was great, went and interrupted the chef from his chat with some obvious regulars, and asked about our food. We watched the chef wave a dismissive hand and laugh when she asked about our order, and when I saw that, I had to call him over. When I asked why he was laughing when she asked about our order, he thought it would be a good idea to lie to my face and tell me that he didn't laugh when she asked him about our order.... So I guess my eyes must have lied to me... He then said that our food would be out in another 5 minutes before coming back a few minutes later to tell us that he had a burger and a steak that must have been leftover that he could bring to us. The burger and fries were cold - I mean below room temperature cold, and my colleague's steak was even colder. Not only that, my colleague ordered a New York Strip yet the chef brought him a ribeye.... That's like ordering the chicken but getting the tofu... it's not what he wanted and not what he ordered. Although they decided to comp our check, I would have much rather paid full price for a fresh, hot meal, instead of eating a cold burger, cold fries, and my friend eating only part of his cold steak. Comping a check doesn't make up for cold food. Period. In fact, that should have been a given, and they should have prioritized getting us a hot, fresh meal, vs sending us some leftovers that the chef thought would satisfy us. The chef's arrogance and interest in being seen rather than watching his kitchen is going to be the downfall of this restaurant. I am so disappointed that I wish I could give 0 stars to this place. I will definitely not be coming back, and unless you are a buddy of this chef, expect to get sub par food with a side of arrogance and self importance that just isn't worth it. What a huge disappointment. I should have checked the reviews before deciding to come here.... Lesson learned.
