I love coming here to get the bacon wrapped steak in the bacon wrapped chicken with the flavorful chimichurri sauce. I was super disappointed this weekend when I went to order my bacon wrapped chicken and found that it's no longer on the menu. Not a huge deal I guess, change is an inevitability. So I ordered my bacon wrapped beef and when it came, it was not the same either. What used to be thick crispy chunks of beef beef wrapped in cooked bacon is now a sad cubed piece of beef with no char on it and burnt bacon. The chimichurri sauce was still delicious and flavorful, but not enough to save the bacon wrapped meat. My husband felt the exact same about his with the garlic Parmesan sauce. The food is always hot and made to order so that's nice but so is everything else at the garage. This might change our mind about visiting monthly.

We then ordered three different tacos to share with the group. The menu was on a dry erase board and all in Spanish. We had a Spanish speaker with us which helped, however, we could have gotten by speaking only in English with the servers however it would have been more challenging for sure. The atmosphere was festive and Hispanic upbeat music played pretty loudly in the restaurant/bar area. We were still able to talk and have conversations over the music so it was not too loud. I had an al Pastor taco, which was delicious! I also had a steak taco, topped with lots of chopped onion and cilantro, it was okay, but I prefer the al pastor much more. Everything was served on plastic plates with plastic silverware, very budget-friendly as well, downright cheap!! I have traveled to Central America, Nicaragua specifically and I found myself saying more than once while we were there: "This place is totally legit and authentic!" I would for sure think about going back to grab a quick taco or two but I would stick to a beer vs. a house margarita. We got the choclo that we've desperately been trying to recreate since our trip to Colombia.. the gulas grill version while not perfect was a decent substitute. This was the only item that dint hit the mark.. the rest of the food was delicious. My husband loved his carne asada enough to call them and ask if they'd sell the marinated meat to grill at home! The patacones were crisp and topped generously with fresh cheese. The yucca fries were good too and all the portions huge. Definitely trying the other things on their menu soon!
