Rest Haven Park Cemetery is pretty much what you'd expect from a cemetery. Quiet neighbors, nobody blasting music and you definitely won't hear anyone complaining about the rent. The grounds are kept pretty clean and there's plenty of open space with mature trees providing some much needed shade. From what I saw the graves and headstones were well maintained with flowers throughout the cemetery. Definitely no grave concerns there. It's also probably the one place where people are dying to get in but nobody's in a hurry to leave a Yelp review afterward. The residents mostly keep to themselves. Very little drama and everyone seems to be resting peacefully. You could say the place has good spirits. All jokes aside it's a peaceful and well maintained cemetery. A nice final resting place for loved ones and somewhere families can visit without the grounds looking neglected. Overall I'd say Rest Haven is doing a pretty ghoul... errr GOOD job. I'd give them a grave review but I don't want to urn myself any dirty looks. Five stars. Dead serious. read more

Friday Dec 19th, marked two years since my sister passed away. I went to this cemetery with my daughter to visit her grave--an already incredibly emotional and painful moment. As my daughter and I were getting into our car at approximately 5:45 p.m. to leave, a security truck pulled up beside us and shined a bright spotlight directly into our vehicle. I rolled my window down and was immediately yelled at and aggressively ordered to leave. When I asked why he was yelling, the guard claimed he "knew me," said I was "always here," and that I should know the rules. This was completely untrue--I had not been able to visit in months--but regardless, nothing justified his behavior. When I asked for his name, he refused and would only identify himself as "security." He continued yelling and told me to "get the hell out of here." As I attempted to leave, he backed his vehicle behind mine and turned his bright lights on, creating an intimidating and hostile situation while I was visibly emotional and crying in my car. At the gate, another security guard was present. When I asked what the hostility was about, he laughed. When I asked for their names, I was again told only "security." I paid $65,000 to lay my sister to rest here. I never imagined that visiting her grave--especially on the anniversary of her death--would result in being treated with aggression, humiliation, and a complete lack of compassion. I reached out to West Resthaven's General Manager, Chris Hopkins, to report what happened. While he said he was sorry, he minimized the situation by stating that security is necessary and that it may have just been an "off day" for them. I told him that I now feel afraid to return to visit my sister because I do not feel safe. His response was deeply disappointing. I am sharing this so other families are aware. Cemeteries should be places of peace, compassion, and respect for those who are grieving. Last night, this place was none of those things. This is not okay, and it is not a safe or appropriate environment for anyone mourning the loss of a loved one. read more

I was out here this morning to decorate my husband's grave.. today would have been his 80th birthday.. I couldn't believe after all the complaints Ive made on the lack of perpetual care they are suppose to be doing I was told.. My father's internment was in March 2024. The marble stone was already there, just needed the brass plate with his name and dates added to the marker. After months of asking constantly when it would be added, it was finally done the end of November 2024 - 8 mos later. They also decided to redo the irrigation system from June - Aug 2024. So of course all the grass was brown and most of the trees died and had to be removed. Now a lot of the graves are caving in as the root systems of the trees decompose and unless you see it & complain, they don't do anything about it. read more

My Parents purchased 3 plots at West Resthaven, they also did prepaid funeral arrangements. Thing went smoothly when my mother passed in November of 2018. My brother passed away in December of 2025. My mother had arranged everything and my sister was able to handle his funeral and his Headstone. Mt father Passed in January of 2026. When I call West Resthaven to make sure we were on track. I was informed I needed to Pay $4754.15 before his internment. When I questioned this, I was told it was for the concrete box and the digging and filling of the grave. I showed them the paperwork that I had and was told it was for my mother's grave. I took them 3 months to cash the check. Then I received notice for approval for the headstone. I informed them the headstone wasn't correct. They had the names switched. In April of 2026 I received a letter saying the Headstone would be remade. After nearly two months the stone isn't done nor have I heard from them. The grounds are in terrible shape. In April my mother and I went to visit my brothers gravesite for his birthday. We were SHOCKED to see the condition that not only his resting place was in but that of the ENTIRE cemetery. My brothers headstone and those in the immediate area of his were completely covered in dirt piles. We realized that gophers had taken over. We left and returned with our own landscaping tools to clean up the area. We then went to the office and complained. That fell on deaf ears as the young man we spoke to showed very little to no interest. He reassured us that the gopher issue and the water system was being handled. Fast forward to today, we returned and no change has been made. The gophers seem to have moved to another portion of the cemetery causing major damage to several areas. I am extremely upset seeing this as it has always been a beautiful place to visit several of my family members and some friends. Glendale city cemetery is just south of this location and is GORGEOUS, as all cemeteries should be, especially when the costs of burials have increased! We plan on cleaning up as much as we can, when we can but this should be the job of RESTHAVEN/Dignity! I would never purchase a plot here, unfortunately my parents already have. We paid for a very simple, graveside memorial. Our advisor, Juliana did not show up. The ceremony was scheduled for 11 am and at 10:50 am she still had not shown up with the transport dolly to have the casket in place before guests arrived. The mortuary (different company- awesome service) had been waiting since 10:15 with the casket in the hearse. At 10:40, we called the front office of Resthaven to ask if Julian was going to be there like she said she would. At 10:55 a "supervisor" named Lisa did show up, but again, without a transport dolly. We made the decision to grab a few guests to carry the casket from the hearse to the graveside. This was not what we paid for, nor was it what we agreed on several days prior. We did not need an added stress on top of a very stressful day. The two women who carefully lowered the casket are angels. Buyers, please know that you have options when burying a loved one. You do not have to use the place where your loved one is being buried. Shop around. This was a disappointing experience. We pivoted and made it work for our family. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. These people and this company are the most uncaring, insensitive, unprofessional, and inefficient they could be for the type of business they are in. Multiple people in my family have been buried here through the decades. Unfortunately, my recently deceased dad's plot was purchased here many years ago, and he wanted to be buried with the family who had gone before him. If it weren't for honoring his wishes, I would love to see him buried elsewhere. He had an 'Away From Home' contract bought and paid for many years ago, and because he was currently out of state for longer than 6 months (though it was never specified on the contract), this company refused to honor it or allow any type of credit for it. They just pocketed the money and we are forced to pay all fees for transporting him back home, on top of the funeral and burial expenses. Then, even though a burial plot had been bought and paid for in full many years ago, we were informed that the new company rule was to require a concrete outer burial box (this was not a requirement when last loved one was buried in 2019). So, this is an additional $4,500 charge out of pocket. When we initially tried to set up a graveside service through their funeral home, we were given an astronomical figure and told it was because they had a brand-new large building to pay for. We were told the fees were the same even though we only wanted a graveside service and did not need to use their building. Communication has been lacking. They have a 'counselor', and I say that in bewilderment, named Chrioni, that cannot even answer simple email questions. My family and I have had to resort to quite a few emails and calls while taking care of arrangements, as we both live out of state. Trying to get answers to basic questions such as burial costs, and the dimensions of the concrete vault (so that we can make sure we have an appropriate-sized casket), has been like pulling teeth. The lack of transparency and flippancy of the emails is astounding. I wish there was room to share all of these here. When I called last week trying to make a payment, I got tossed around on the phone and after being on hold twice, was finally told Chrioni was not available and that they could not tell me the best time to reach him. This info was given by a kid named Carlos who answered, 'Cool, cool,' when I stated for the second time who I was trying to reach. Then, when I tried to email Chrioni requesting a good time of day to reach him for payment, he replied by asking if we could set up a meeting in his office. All I wanted to do was make a payment. Last straw was today. I called to make a final payment on the burial and vault fees, and the girl Lupe who took the payment, was unable to send me a copy showing the invoice was paid in full. All you are to these people whether dead or alive, is a contract number and a string of dollar signs. Please do not bury your loved ones here! You have other choices. They will do nothing to alleviate your stress, but instead, just pile more on each day! Thankfully, we did find a different funeral home with much more reasonable fees, in which to be able to afford to have a visitation service before my dad's graveside service. I'm just glad Dad didn't have to deal with all of this. It's been a nightmare. Every single person that owns or works for this cemetery needs to rethink their job. If you are lacking in basic kindness and compassion, you should not be working with grieving families. If you choose to stay in this type of job, maybe think about developing some work ethic and basic communication and customer service skills. This is a type of business that should run very smoothly, and the owners and management need to get all of the kinks worked out. I recently went up to Rust Haven Park to talk to my wife for eight years and when I approached the grave, the stone was missing. I thought someone stole it but to no avail no one did Cemetary Rest Haven pull the stone up because it was due for repair for eight years of tortured They repaint it brand new. I am so pleased with the outcome and I thano rest Haven for their great work on the stone. This cemetery used to be beautiful. What the heck happened? Since new management, a few years ago seems like, this place has gone from looking beautiful, full plants to a f****** desert. Landscape is horrendous. I've personally called and complained. Never receive a phone call back even when being told someone would call me. There's a circus in the office apparently only clowns work there. There's potholes everywhere and messed up roads. Every plant is dead or dying. The outside bushes used to be thick and full of flowers. The grass and trees are no longer green. Things are knocked over. They're cutting down trees, so there's no longer shade. My family purchased a whole section of plots (12 double deep) for our family many many years ago. My parents loved the two trees at the entrance lined by 8 rose bushes on each side. I have complained several times because all of the rose bushes are dead and gone and only one tree left. I went by a couple of months ago and no change after previous promises to correct. Now I have made repeated calls to talk to the manager with no response. I wonder how many months it will take to even get a return call. 2 months and counting. My husband and I visited our sons grave on July 4th. The grounds are nice and for my purposes the administration has been acceptable. My complaint is with the grounds keepers. Adjacent to my sons grave we noticed that a grave had a in - ground vase installed. Dirt was piled up on the tombstone. We could only see part of the inscription that read 'US Navy''. My husband said this is no way to treat anyone much less someone that served our country. People need respect dead or alive , even when no one is around to know what you are doing. My husband cleaned the stone and it was very apparent that the dirt was there for awhile because it was packed into the letters. All the grounds keeper had to do was pick up the dirt after installing a$200 vase but instead just threw the dirt on a $5000+ stone. Many of our family members are buried here and we've lived in Glendale since the 1940s. The lack of maintenance is appalling. There are sinking gravestones, holes and uneven ground to trip on and today my granddaughters and I came upon dead chickens that looked to be "sacrificed"? Tortured? next to liquor bottles. My brother passed away on June 15, 2022 and while the service for him was nice and the girls who helped our family with those arrangements were very helpful the process of getting his headstone has been absolutely horrible. I have call and texted George every month since then and he keeps giving me the run around, mean while my brother has an unmarked grave. His headstone was prepaid, so that makes it even worse. My mother passed away in December 2021 and has yet to have a headstone ordered in December 2021. My father paid for a red granite headstone and was told it would arrive in six months however ten months later, she still does not have a headstone. In May 2022, Shannon Painter said to us that the red granite headstone would not be available for an additional 6 months and recommended that we should change it to the mahogany color because it would arrive in two months but it has yet to arrive. My sister ordered a black granite bench in January 2022 and it already arrived. I would not recommend this cemetery to even my worse enemy. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE??? Several issues with this cemetery and I suggest you look elsewhere for your loved ones final resting place. My family had pre-purchased 2 plots at Resthaven. When the gravemarker was completed after the first burial, the birthdate was engraved incorrectly. They failed to fix it properly and the incorrect date is still visible. When the 2nd burial happened this December, the cememtery failed to provide adequate staff to carry the casket to the spot, so we had to have family help. The picture attached is the view of the spot 4 months after the burial. There are 2 foot deep whole surrounding the grave. When I spoke to someone in the office the receptionist said there was no one able to speak to me, they were too busy. When I told her what had happened she said they will look into it, the woman showed no empathy for the shock we saw as we came to remember our loved ones. The lack of customer service is unacceptable. She said my work request to add more dirt to our grave would be entered into the system, but no promises it would be completed. They may not have time because they have to prioritize burials. I mentioned to her we were a burial that was not done correctly. She informed me that I was in the wrong and that it was done correctly. I urge you to find another location! read more

Don't spend your money here!!! The grounds are not kept up and are a mess. We recently came to put flowers on a family member's grave site, and the expensive headstone appeared to be missing. After digging in the ground, we located the headstone 3 inches down covered with dirt, and grass had grown completely over it. There was literally no sign of it. Mounds of dirt are all over that look like gopher holes and the grass is untrimmed with trash laying everywhere. While we spent the two hours there digging up the headstone, cleaning all of the dirt imbedded in the stone engraving, and digging up the flower vase as well, we could hear other visitors complaining about the same thing. One family even brought a cordless weed eater to clean up their area. This is the ultimate disrespect for your loved one and talking to the people in the office is like talking to a completely uncaring idiot. Please do not waste your money here and see your loved one be treated with such disrespect. read more

If I could give it a lower rating I would. Worse service I ever received when I needed help and guidance after losing my loved one I only received a fast talking funeral planner employee. I asked for certain request with burial arrangements and the employee stated more then once that those request that I had would be no issues. Now I have so many issues now I can't even lay my loved one to rest cause those requested not able to be met and to be told told that the lawn service is the reason I can't have those request met.
