My grandparents were buried in the Resthaven Cemetery 20 years ago. The cemetery used to be beautiful back in the day. The only grave markers allowed were flush to the ground making it look peaceful and serene. It was the reason my parents selected Resthaven when they decided to pre-plan and pre-pay many years ago. My mothers philosophy was death does not discriminate, after death when all grave marker are basically the same, you don't know who lived a wealthy life and who lived poor. In death everyone is equal. Times have changed. Resthaven now allows large tombstones and benches. It's still a fairly decent cemetery and since Dignity took over they've made several upgrades to the landscaping and irrigation system but to me allowing various grave markers has taken away from the serenity. Anyway! My father recently passed away and since he had pre-planned the process with Resthaven was extremely easy. Amber and Dylan showed compassion and professionalism, and guided my siblings through the process. Amber was easy going and responded to emails quickly. The day of the service everything went as planned and stress free. We opted to use their after service reception option. It was affordable and the caterer they use had delicious food. Last night, 12/19, marked two years to the day since my sister passed away. I went to this cemetery with my daughter to visit her -- a moment that was already incredibly emotional and painful. As my daughter and I were getting into our car at approximately 5:45 p.m., preparing to leave, a security truck pulled up beside us and shined a bright spotlight directly into our vehicle. I rolled my window down and was immediately yelled at and aggressively told to leave. I asked why he was yelling, and he claimed he "knew me," said I am "always here," and that I should know the rules. This was not true -- it had been months since I had even been able to visit -- but regardless, nothing justified this behavior. When I asked for his name, he refused and would only say "security." He continued yelling and told me to "get the hell out of here." He then backed his vehicle behind mine and turned his brights on as I was trying to leave. At the gate, another security guard was present. When I asked what the hostility was about, he laughed. When I asked for their names, I was again told only "security." I paid $65,000 to lay my sister to rest here. I never imagined that visiting her grave -- especially on the anniversary of her death -- would result in being treated with aggression, humiliation, and complete disregard for grief. I am sharing this so other families are aware. Cemeteries should be places of compassion, understanding, and respect. Last night, this place was none of those things. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. These people and this company are the most uncaring, insensitive, unprofessional, and inefficient they could be for the type of business they are in. Multiple people in my family have been buried here through the decades. Unfortunately, my recently deceased dad's plot was purchased here many years ago, and he wanted to be buried with the family who had gone before him. If it weren't for honoring his wishes, I would love to see him buried elsewhere. He had an 'Away From Home' contract bought and paid for many years ago, and because he was currently out of state for longer than 6 months (though it was never specified on the contract), this company refused to honor it or allow any type of credit for it. They just pocketed the money and we are forced to pay all fees for transporting him back home, on top of the funeral and burial expenses. Then, even though a burial plot had been bought and paid for in full many years ago, we were informed that the new company rule was to require a concrete outer burial box (this was not a requirement when last loved one was buried in 2019). So, this is an additional $4,500 charge out of pocket. When we initially tried to set up a graveside service through their funeral home, we were given an astronomical figure and told it was because they had a brand-new large building to pay for. We were told the fees were the same even though we only wanted a graveside service and did not need to use their building. Communication has been lacking. They have a 'counselor', and I say that in bewilderment, named Chrioni, that cannot even answer simple email questions. My family and I have had to resort to quite a few emails and calls while taking care of arrangements, as we both live out of state. Trying to get answers to basic questions such as burial costs, and the dimensions of the concrete vault (so that we can make sure we have an appropriate-sized casket), has been like pulling teeth. The lack of transparency and flippancy of the emails is astounding. I wish there was room to share all of these here. When I called last week trying to make a payment, I got tossed around on the phone and after being on hold twice, was finally told Chrioni was not available and that they could not tell me the best time to reach him. This info was given by a kid named Carlos who answered, 'Cool, cool,' when I stated for the second time who I was trying to reach. Then, when I tried to email Chrioni requesting a good time of day to reach him for payment, he replied by asking if we could set up a meeting in his office. All I wanted to do was make a payment. Last straw was today. I called to make a final payment on the burial and vault fees, and the girl Lupe who took the payment, was unable to send me a copy showing the invoice was paid in full. All you are to these people whether dead or alive, is a contract number and a string of dollar signs. Please do not bury your loved ones here! You have other choices. They will do nothing to alleviate your stress, but instead, just pile more on each day! Thankfully, we did find a different funeral home with much more reasonable fees, in which to be able to afford to have a visitation service before my dad's graveside service. I'm just glad Dad didn't have to deal with all of this. It's been a nightmare. Every single person that owns or works for this cemetery needs to rethink their job. If you are lacking in basic kindness and compassion, you should not be working with grieving families. If you choose to stay in this type of job, maybe think about developing some work ethic and basic communication and customer service skills. This is a type of business that should run very smoothly, and the owners and management need to get all of the kinks worked out. My mom passed on April 1, 2025, buried on April 9, 2025. I was told it would take up to 6 months for the stone to be made and placed. At 6 months I contacted Resthaven and was told up to 8 months. Said the stone was there and waiting to schedule placement. At 8.5 months it was not placed. Called Resthaven again and was told it was scheduled. Asked to speak to Manager with no call back. I receive a call a couple days later from Company saying it would be done soon. I told them I was going to start posting bad reviews so they placed it that day. There is no excuse for this since they had the stone for over 3 months. This was heartbreaking to see mom's grave with no stone. I use to recommend this company to people. Never again. Esteban, Daryl and Titus did a remarkable job cleaning up my grandfather's headstone. They are truly very kind and caring people. We had a good conversation together, and I learned so much about the death and dying process and culture. I truly appreciate y'all taking the time to care/maintain my grandpa's site. I live out of state and would visit him once or twice a year. I will be back again and thank you so much for everything. We chose Resthaven Cemetery, Dignity, for its well-kept landscaping and maintenance. These past several months the grounds look like a dust bowl with dead trees. The headstones are sinking, the grass is literally dead, and the ground is so dry there is no grass whatsoever in quite a few areas, and where there is it is dead!! There is no removal of overgrowth on the headstones and no removal of debris and dead plant matter. There are dead trees and trees with branches hanging so low there are a danger to visitors as well as to your own staff. I have been there when the maintenance staff has been working on repairing the sprinkler system and cutting the so-called grass. They run over the flowers and cut them to shreds with giving it a second thought. The vases are knocked over. I did not see any grass trimming, edging, weeding, and any raking being completed. Resthaven, these are our family members, whom we love and visit. Your website is currently a lie. The pictures are a fraud! This is not what I see when I visit my son, my mom, my dad, my sister, and my nephew! You are responsible for the upkeep and the maintenance of the cemetery. DO NOT burry a loved one here. This place doesn't care at all. For over 7 years there has been problem after problem. Every time my Aunt takes a new set of flowers or any other "special" item to my loved one's gravesite it gets stollen or broken. Who steals from the dead? If you complain to management they basically tell you to "f*#k off"! These people are only nice when they are getting your money, after they do, you are an afterthought. I promise you there are more caring places you can go that will make sure your loved one is cared for after they are gone. read more

I had such a sad and disappointing experience. Six months after my mom's funeral and burial, the nameplate for her headstone wasn't placed. I called to ask why it was taking so long, the counselor told me he never ordered it and that he was sorry. That's it. He did not offer anything beyond that. My husband and I spoke to the funeral home manager and cemetery manager the next day. The cemetery manager was apologetic and placed a rush on the name plate. The only compensation they offered was a wreath at the burial site. I am writing this review as a warning. West Resthaven advertises compassion and respect as a foundation to their company. This entire experience, neither respect nor compassion was shown. This is a business where they are assisting emotion people dealing with tremendous grief, they need to be efficient and precise in their work. The ball was sadly dropped- a rush order and wreath does not excuse their lack of respect and work ethic. read more

Dealing with final arrangements is nothing short of Stressful....I would like to tell you about the experience that I had with West Resthaven Funeral when my Father passed away. My Father passed on October 10th, 2020. I reached out to Resthaven and scheduled an appointment to plan my Father's funeral. I was Blessed to connect with Jeanette, I cannot tell you all the Wonderful things that she has done for Me and my Family. She greeted us with Kindness, and with a listening ear, she walked us thru the entire process with patience and professionalism. She took the time to explain our options and made me feel more at ease thru this difficult time. She went above and beyond by taking on certain responsibilities. She made arrangements and contacted The Military for my Father's Honors, she made sure the Gun salute was performed and the United States Navy was on site to Honor him. She connected me with a Chaplin who performed his Eulogy, Jeanette contacted the Newspapers and had his obituary completed. A friend had her funeral prepaid. She asked that her cat's ashes and a picture of herself and her husband be put in the casket. When her time came the funeral home refused to let us put the ashes and the picture in with her. She was told if would be okay when she paid for it. The general manager said "This is a people cemetery" . Not even a picture? NO! My friend paid for her wishes to be done. They did NOT honor her wishes and for this I would definitely not recommend this place. They take your money and then don't care about you after that!! read more
