I read mixed reviews, but went anyway. In spite of it being a wine bar I initially ordered beer. I then ordered wine, but the first few I ordered were not available. I ordered a flatbread. About the time the food came out the bartender decided to fill a bucket with a cleaning chemical. All I could smell and taste from that point forward was cleaning chemical. Clueless. read more

Food and appetizers are great. Beer is always cold. Only suggestion would be to train the staff on proper serving of wine. To put yourself out there as a wine bar, the white wine should be served in a white wine glass and red in a red wine glass. In addition, when ordering a full bottle the waitress opened our bottle in the bar and brought it to us opened! A big no no! First off let me start this by saying how cool this little place is. A neat little dive in middle of nowhere Lufkin, where everyone is as nice as can be..... Unless employed here. All staff...waiters, hostess, bartenders and managers could care less about customers. No greeting on the way in, no waitress to provide drink or food orders. Adorable atmosphere in this remodeled hotel. All I had was the blue cheese burger but it was the best blue cheese burger I've had. Lots of wines and cheeses to try also. Our waitress was super sweet. She also said they have live music every Friday and Saturday night at 7pm. read more

Traveled through Lufkin on the way to Nacogdoches and stopped at the Restoration Wine Bar downtown for lunch on Friday. The restaurant is housed in a old historic building. The decor/setting/ambiance of the restaurant is excellent .... with fantastic art on the walls, a great bar area, and very comfortable booths and tables for seating. My wife and I were immediately seated and the owner himself served as our waiter. We ordered the Diablo Pizza and the Mozzarella Flatbread, along with two glasses of an Argentinan Malbec. The food and wine were FANTASTIC!! The pizza/flatbread dough was very, very tasty. The ingredients, meat, tomato sauce, onions, and peppers were super fresh and of superior quality. The wine was perfect. We enjoyed visiting with the owner and it was evident that he is super passionate about the food he serves to his customers. Do yourself a favor and try this place. If you live in Lufkin, put it in your "eating-out" rotation. I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

What a great little spot! I had the chicken salad sandwich served on Pita. It was delicious, and fresh. The Pita was warm, and the fresh avocado was a wonderful addition. The homemade enchilada soup was spot on. Not too spicy with right amount of melted cheese. One of the friendly staff members suggested trying a touch of the balsamic dressing on the chicken salad. It just keeps getting better. The wine list is nice. Not too extensive so it is overwhelming, and a wide variety to choose from. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more

Had a very bad experience on my husband's birthday. Waited 45 minutes to get our order taken by a bartender who did not check on us as our drinks were empty and spent his time drying glasses and chatting with other patrons. We finally left after waiting another 15 minutes to get our tab paid, and proceeded to Olive Garden. I wrote a review on their Facebook page later on and they deleted it! I wish I were in a position to offer feedback about the food and wine, but we unfortunately didn't even make it far enough along to order. My very mature, teenage twin daughters and I were in Lufkin for the weekend. We walked in and sat at a table. Within five minutes a staff member walked over to us and said we would have to leave as they do not serve "children" after 5 pm, so we left. We like wine bars similar to Restoration. In Houston we go to MAX's Wine Dive, from which I'm sure Restoration borrowed ideas for their business. I suppose my family will have to stick to Houston and our favorite restaurant, MAX's, where they know us by name. I'm left wondering what other segments of society that Restoration refuses to serve. Go to Restoration and possibly be embarrassed at your own risk. read more

My fiancé and I have never been to Lufkin, TX and we were here for 4 days. We wanted to have a nice dinner on Valentine's Day so I came across this restaurant on yelp and I'm happy I did. The food was amazing and everything tasted homemade. To drink I had Stella Rosa(red wine) which was great and my fiancé had a beer. For appetizer we had the fried potato balls, which taste like homemade hash browns with a little bacon and cheese in them. For my entree I had a pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. The pizza tasted like it was made from scratch along with the marinara sauce. My fiancé ordered the bacon cheeseburger which came with fries and he was one happy camper. For dessert we enjoyed the cheesecake with fresh strawberries and homemade chocolate sauce. On top of such a great experience, this restaurant is super affordable. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the friendly staff and we can't wait to come back! read more

Atmosphere is good and they have a decent wine selection, but as somebody who went primarily for food, I was severely disappointed. The pizza definitely felt like a frozen pizza that was reheated and served. I could have gone to HEB and gotten a better tasting pizza.
