I have never in my life felt so blindsided, disrespected, and outright humiliated by a sales associate as I was by Michael at Restoration Hardware. And let me make something very clear before I begin: I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at this location multiple times this year I've been loyal. I've been courteous. I've been nothing but kind. And Michael managed to destroy all of that in a single moment. Our interaction started off perfectly fine. Friendly, even. I was actually enjoying myself -- laughing, talking, having a genuinely pleasant time. Then he mentioned dealing with a difficult customer, and I responded with a compliment, exactly as I said it: "Yeah, it's too bad you guys have to deal with that stuff. I could never do customer service because it sucks how you have to stay and be uncomfortable and deal with difficult customers. Whereas in my job we have it easy -- you can leave the room if someone is yelling at you." I said this while wearing scrubs because I work in healthcare. I was admiring his patience. I was telling him his job is HARDER than mine in that way. I was being kind. And this man -- who is old enough to be my father -- stood there, stone-faced, and waited. He literally waited until I had swiped my card for over $2,000. He waited until the payment went through, until his commission was secured. Only then did he decide it was time to humiliate me. He looked at me and said: "Our customer service doesn't suck. I bet it's about as good as your nursing." Let me repeat that. "I bet it's about as good as your nursing." I am not a nurse. I never said I was. I never said the customer service sucked I was giving him a compliment. He assumed I was a nurse because I am a woman in scrubs -- as if every woman in healthcare is the same, as if our actual roles, specialties, and degrees don't matter. And this man -- this sales associate -- thought it was appropriate to throw that insult in my face like my profession was a joke he could use to put me in my place. I barely made it to my car before the tears started. I cried the entire way home. Because the way he spoke to me was not just rude -- it was belittling, sexist, dismissive, condescending, and deeply personal. This wasn't a misunderstanding. This wasn't a slip of the tongue. This was a man who waited until I paid, then intentionally demeaned me. And here's the worst part: the other two associates I interacted with -- a woman and a man -- were absolutely lovely. They were warm, kind, respectful, everything a sales associate should be! But let me be very clear: Because of Michael, I will never step foot in this location again. Because of Michael, this store lost a long-term, loyal customer. Because of Michael, I walked out of Restoration Hardware in tears after dropping two thousand dollars the same night. No one should walk into a store feeling excited and walk out feeling this way. read more

I am really surprised to see the negative reviews for this location. We were treated well when we were there and Adrien and other staff there were great at helping us. We were wondering if we should buy a couch, and they brought several different sized coffee tables over, so we could visibly see and compare how it would look with the sofa. I thought the store selection and prices were fine as well. Understand that most (not all) items are marked 50% off. Items on clearance can be up to 90% off, but obviously these items go fast. Some items that have no damage, it can take 90-180 days before they get marked down. The overall selection was good and I would rate it as one of the better RH outlet locations that I have been to. read more

Walked in on a whim and found a dining table that blew us away!! Yes, it needs a little TLC, but we're industrious and the work needed is strictly cosmetic. RH furniture is not cheap to begin with, so don't expect to see $6000 tables marked down to $100. But there are some impressive pieces available. He was very passive when we asked for help an then was incredibly rude when I asked him a question. Then as my husband took his mask off to catch a quick breathe by the door that was open he yelled at him. I've been in customer service for 15 years & while I understand the mandate there's no need to be rude or disrespectful of good paying customers. I would encourage anyone who comes to this establishment to ask for anyone to help them but this gentleman. STAY AWAY. If your expecting to get some customer service, go to Culver City or Long Beach instead. This location has no customer service what so ever. The sales associates here also do not know what they are doing. I called to see if they can look up an item for me to see where they have it in stock near me, the lady on the phone took down the SKU number for me and stated, "i cant find anything with that SKU number". So I gave her another one, and still "she couldn't find anything". Was she even looking it up? Or she didn't know what she was doing? I called Long Beach instead, the gentleman there who helped me was so helpful, he even gave me a tip when asking about the products. This location, you need to hire better people. In our travels for shopping for furniture, we checked out many in the area. To our delight we discovered that Restoration Hardware is made in China and you can get the exact same item at other stores that sell "better" quality and custom furniture. The staff looked very professional and we liked. We didn't want the Oxnard shopping experience and expected the experience to be brand consistent. Armed with that newly learned tidbit, we did find the furniture and lamps we loved just up the road in Ventura for a better price. The store reopened 3 days ago after the pandemic closure with a new store policy for discounting their inventory. I was shocked at the prices! Many items were priced at more than they are new, in boxes from the retail locations! I purchased 6 wall sconces in December from this outlet at a price of $56 each...They had one left in the store, scratched and without a box or small installation parts with a new price of $311....about a 600% price increase!!! other items had similar price increases...YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO BUY THIS STUFF AT THESE PRICES!!! The three times I have been there I felt unwelcome. I get an uneasy feeling from the employees. I am latin and the employees have been latin but yet they flock to every nationality besides mine. I dont know but the employees there are also know zero about the product lines or can answer any questions. They are reluctant to answer any questions or look you in the eye while speaking with you and try to rush you so they can attend to a better customer.. If I could give zero stars I would. They give you a list of 3 recommend delivery companies and I used the first one on the list. Don't use Ortega's transport for your delivery. They first tried to leave our bedroom dresser downstairs because they said it was "too heavy" even though they knew what the item was before picking it up. They then proceeded to damage my walls and dent and scratch my floors in addition to getting mud in my bedroom and stairs. Can't believe RH would recommend a company like that. read more

I was at the Fry's next door and saw this place. I've browsed and perused their online store so many times and wanted to see the stores for myself as I really like their choices. However, I was rather disappointed in the store as it was more of a large storage warehouse than what I was expecting, which was more like Pier 1 with their sections and different choices. Kinda bummed as I did see a few nice things for decent prices, which puts this review to 3 stars, but I was not sold by this location. Also, not one sales worker came up to me or even greeted me. Went with a good friend of mine to purchase a chandelier he had kept on hold for a few days, as soon as we walked in I was overwhelmed by all the luxurious furniture, however there were no employees on the floor to ask us if we were doing alright. Not only did they look miserable to be there but seemed annoyed as almost it was a burden to answer a question of mine. They will not mark anything down more even if it is damaged, they were unprofessional, and unwelcoming. BEWARE!!!!!! If you happen to purchase something at this store make sure to take it with you. If you it's a large item and you leave it there to arrange for pick up later you may encounter that your items maybe damaged and or missing parts that were there when you purchased it. I purchased a table top and took a picture of it after I paid for it. The picture shows hardware in the crate. Between my purchasing the table and pick up 2 days later the hardware envelope disappeared. They probably took it to complete some other table that they still have unsold. Once I paid for this table it became my property and taking that hardware is a theft. Sales person attitude is to match. Since I was lucky enough to take pictures of it at the time I purchased it and they show an envelope with hardware I will be able to do something about it thru the legal system. I never knew they were previously in Camarillo, so when I saw RH Outlet I didn't know for sure that it was Restoration Hardware. (But I was hoping!) Restoration Hardware has some of the most beautiful fixtures, linens, and furniture, but I only shop their sale/clearance because it's like Pottery Barn on steroids pricing. When the Design Within Reach outlet opened, I checked it out. The furniture seemed out of reach, in terms of style, as well as the prices. So I didn't have high expectations for RH, assuming the prices would be sky high. But I walked in and saw a beautiful linen sofa right off the bat for less than $1000. Everything in the store was on sale for an additional 40% off the already reduced price. If you have expensive tastes for fine linens in beautiful soft colors, or attractive larger scale furniture (indoors or out), gorgeous light fixtures, but not quite the coordinating wallet, then do yourself a favor and check out RH Outlet. You're not going to find Ashley Furniture prices, but you're going to get expensive, quality products at big discounts. In terms of the staff, I had no issues. They were perfectly friendly. I have to say, I've been at this store three times in the last week and every single time I had a great experience. Several employees asked me if I needed help when I was looking around which was nice because the mirrors are super heavy to move to look at so you do need help. They also put things on hold for me and were super friendly with loading my car, etc. One even gave me a tip for keeping something on hold the following day. Great products, too, of course! Found some amazing bargains that are going to make my home amazing. read more

The people in the store were very helpful and the selection was pretty good for an outlet. I went yesterday and purchased a gorgeous 108 inch dark wood dining table. We paid $900 and it was originally $4K. I found beautiful chairs that are $545 online and we got them for $190 each. All items are still at the retail stores, so the stuff here is not last season. it just has minor imperfections and they may not have enough of what you want. For example, they only had three chairs and I need 8. I will keep watching weekly to see if they get more and if not bite the bullet and pay full price in store for the remaining chairs. I was thrilled with my purchase and recommend checking out the store. We used the local guy who has a table in the store to deliver. The guys who did the delivery were amazing. We had a very difficult time getting the large table through our door. They ended up taking the top off the base and reassembling to get get it in. They were here for at least 30 mins and had a great attitude and were very professional. Use them for delivery. Very nice guys who did a great job for us. read more

I love the new store in Oxnard. With so much more space, the selection is far greater than the limited space they had in Camarillo. Unlike Vicki's review, I found the staff very helpful, and they even pointed out minor flaws (it is an outlet store) in the furniture I was looking at. I was amazed. Natalie just wanted to make sure I was satisfied. The store manager even got on the phone with 2nd party delivery companies and found the best deal for delivering my new furniture. Store is well stocked and you can find some very nice discounted merchandise. That's the positive. On the negative side, all sales are final, no exceptions. That would be fine if they had that information well signed. There is only one small sign in gray tone, barely legible, taped on the register along with a lot of other information. In other words, you would really have to sift through a lot of copy to see the sentence that says all sales final. I recently purchased 2 gifts, bedding. The recipient already had received. To make a long story shorter, the staff was rude, unhelpful and refused to accept the return. I was told that my sales receipt states final sale. To which I replied, don't you think you should have a sign that clearly states All Sales Final at the check out... one has already purchased an item by the time you give them their receipt! In any case, I understand if a sale is final, However, i think it's bad business to neglect giving the customer that information ahead of purchase and then not accepting a return for unopened, unused merchandise. The staff obviously does not make the rules, they are just trying to enforce. However, they were rude and very unhelpful.
