Gosh darn I love this place. The beers on tap are good in variety and great in flavor. The cocktails are surprisingly awesome for a brewery. The burgers are freaking delicious. It always seems to be bumpin' here every time we go but we always manage to find an open table or seats at the bar. I'm sad they closed their first brewery, as that place held a lot of memories, but I am glad that they chose the space they did because it is wonderful. There is so much more room, and parking is way better than on Niagara St. I recently stopped here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Friday night. It was packed. Luckily, the group was able to score some great seating options, and by the end of the night I had a seat at the bar, right where I feel the most comfortable. I ordered a couple cocktails, and they were made great. The outdoor space is also pretty cool and I enjoy the vibes. This is a great place to go with a date, or with a group of friends. It is a little loud at times, but you'll have to adjust. read more

I am giving this place no stars. We had a reservation for 10 people. We got there and were handed a list of food they don't have. It was very limited. The waiter came back and said now no hamburgers or wings. So we gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered salads. We then were told several minutes later that our food would not be ready pin time to go to Sabres game. We were there 90 minutes prior. We said never mind. Never will go back there, no food, and not ready for events that are going on downtown. It was not even that busy. just awful. read more

I finally got a chance to hang out here and enjoy some drinks on a Sunday. I really like this brewery. I'd been to this location before but I was outside working and event and didn't get a chance to really check things out. This space is very different from the first brewery. I really like the layout and the space. It has more of a welcoming feel and the space is more cozy despite it being so much bigger. The outdoor space looks like its very nice in warmer weather too! I really like the fact that there's so many drink options. I am not a huge beer drinker but my fiance is and it's nice that there's options that we both enjoy. I really enjoyed the drink 'F.U. Awesome'. It was right up my alley. I also tried the mimosa flight and it was really fun because I had the option of trying a few beer-mosas with a few mimosas. I really like that because I was able to test out some beer options. Now I never would have thought that mixing beer with orange juice would be a good mix but to my surprise it was quite tasty. I really liked ward rainbow and pretty fly for a rye guy. I would definitely try them again. The brunch menu looked really good! I would have tried everything on the menu but we couldn't stay so we opted to stick with drinks. I noticed my neighbors having an amazing breakfast burrito and it looked amazing. I showed up with my wife around 2p on a Saturday. It was not busy. Brussel sprouts were fried to hell, burger was grey and dry, I asked for tomatoes on my burger and got one tomato the size of a pickle. My wife's burger was the same down to the tomato, except the side was covered in thousand island sauce. Overall they did not care about the quality of food. But the beer was good. 2/5 read more

So my journey to Resurgence Brewing Company started on Niagara st. on the west side of Buffalo.  Arrived there on a rainy Sunday afternoon only to find they had moved.  Bummer. So I drove down to the Chicago location.  It is at a dead end in a warehouse complex and it is right next to Hartman's distillery.  Parking was slightly challenging, but there is plenty of it.  And on this rainy day the place was packed. It is a little tricky.  They don't have table service here.  Everything is self serve.  You order your beer at the bar area by standing in a line.  You can order food there as well.  Or they have a food order tablet on the wall near the entrance.  I came in the back way through the beer garden.  This place has a lot of space both inside and out. I started my food order with the avocado toast and it was just average.  The toast was soggy.  The avocado paste was well seasoned, but it could have used more.  And the scrambled eggs on the toast were meh.  A fried egg and some greens like arugula would have elevated this dish.  As well as a wheat grained bread instead if the white bread.  It was more like a scrambled egg sandwich.  The home fries which came with it were the best part of the meal.  I wouldn't recommend this. The BEER: Tangerine Kolsch 4.8% ABV... this tastes like a partially ripe clementine.  It was okay for a kolsch.  Loganberry Wit 4.2% ABV... it was sweeter than I expected, refreshing and good Purple Pineapple Eaters kettle sour 5% ABV... like a sour fruit punch, decent. Watermelon Gose 5% ABV... imagine a slightly sour jolly rancher which is mildly Watermelonesk.  This is a STAR!!! Killer Whale Tank IPA 6.5%... tropical fruity and dank with a semi sweet finish. Citmo NEIPA 6.5% ABV... starts smooth, finishes piney.  It is a well crafted New England IPA. Green Heart IPA 6.5% ABV... fruity and kind of light.  It is deceiving.  A sneaky summer drink.  Drinkable and crushable. Over the Hop strawberry IPA 5.8% ABV... strawberry at the nose and the finish.  This was delightfully good. So the real question is would I return to Resurgence. Unequivocally yes! The beer is top notch. The food is just okay, but after a few more of the delicious craft beers, I am sure the food would be just what the doctor ordered for a rainy day of drinking. read more

Wow, wow I'm blown away. I didn't think it could get better than the original location but it sure did! Beautiful building inside and out. The outdoor patio is an alleyway between the brewery and Hartman's Distillery but it's super spacious. Even on a hot day a nice breeze is generated. Food and drink ordering is easy. For food you order inside and they text you when its ready. Completely avoids a log jam of human beings. Food is OK. Wings were decent. The sauce they were tossed in was tangy and spicy. Nachos could've used more toppings. Chips has a nice flavor to them on their own. Other than the ambiance the drinks stole the show here. I've always been a fan of their beer. And I'm not a seltzer guy but their berry flavored seltzer blew me away. A must stop if you're in Buffalo. read more

First time "visiting" the Chicago st resurgence and it was only a curb side pickup so the review is only on food and service, and friendly and delicious is the verdict! Ordered online which was super simple, plus you can browse the beers for pickup in detail this way too. The Chicago location has limited food goes at the moment, I think Friday's and Saturday's for their burger shack. Good streamlined selection, burgers, Mac and cheese, kids options, wings, vegetarian burger options, and some loaded toppings like Mac & Cheese or eggs. I rolled into the pickup spot and called the number and order was ready for me :) super friendly and fast service. I got a 6 pack of IPA for $11 before tax (can't wait to try!!) and a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo with fries for $13 before tax. Delicious burger although there is no option for getting it cooked to your liking of doneness. Despite this it was juicy and delicious! The fries smacked! Well seasoned and nice serving! The only qualm I have is the meal was a tad salty for my liking. I am pumped I hopefully get to experience the actual dining environment and some more foods and brews! I was really impressed with resurgence when restrictions first let up. It was the first place that felt like they were taking COVID seriously and They were careful about spacing, seating and general precautions. I tried to go last night and it was first come first serve, no hostess (was told to just grab an empty space anywhere). go up to the bar to order and go to the food station to get food which is a lot of people moving around maybe unnecessarily. Tables that were empty were dirty with plates still (that's fine since they were busy) but if it's first come first serve, I'm not incentivized to make sure it's sanitized before I sit down. Went up to the tap room and it was an enclosed space that was full of people and not keeping six foot distance with the exception of the tables outside of the main hall - meaning the balcony over looking the tap room and tables in the stairwell. I want to support local but I'll just buy their beer elsewhere and won't be back until after vaccination because it's just not worth the risk right now. Real shame because they were my go-to. read more

We visited Resurgence for brunch this week and were very impressed. The space was very cool, and the service was quick and friendly. Our table started by splitting the cinnamon roll, which was excellent. We split it four ways, and everyone got a few bites. I liked how the frosting wasn't overly sweet. We also ordered some mimosas. They were very good and a great price. I would recommend they serve them in a smaller glass, because the orange garnish they placed on the rim of the glass was far away from the actual drink. For my entree I ordered the bacon and egg poutine. I asked if it was served over french fries and the server told me yes, but it was actually served over breakfast potatoes. Nevertheless, it was very good, and tasted like authentic poutine. Our table ordered a few flights of beer, and it seemed like they had plenty of options for everyone's tastes. The beers I chose were very good, my favorite was the Tropical Staycation Sour. I also tried a sip of the Paloma, and I would definitely order that again. read more

While I typically enjoy Resurgence, we came for Mother's Day brunch today and the entire thing was a mess. Chaos and no line to get in, just a mob of people. Food was buffet style, except it was cold. They ran out of plates. No syrup for french toast or waffles. Advertised eggs Benedict but it was a cold egg on a biscuit with no hollandaise sauce? I ordered a cocktail and my husband asked for a cup of coffee. My cocktail came out an hour after ordering, after we were finished eating, and my husband never got his coffee, just kept being told "it's warming up." Coffee is pretty basic for brunch. I usually love Resurgence but I will never attend another event here. Don't advertise and make people pay for a brunch if you can't accommodate a brunch. Continental breakfast at a chain hotel would have been better. Waitress was apologetic and embarrassed. It wasn't her fault, but this really put a damper on the day. read more

Resurgence is definitely a place to bring friends who would like to see a more historic side of Buffalo, dine at a restaurant which is trendy, and have some decently okay food. Post covid, one has to order food and drink at the counter and then take a seat. They will then text you while your food arrives. While you sit and wait, the waitress will annoy you by asking if you have ordered, as I'm not sure if we looked like vagrants sitting at the table with our drinks. After the food arrives, the waitress will continue asking if the food is good, and then walk away. If you have any issue with the food or need to order more, you will have to get up and take care of it yourself. At the end of your meal, you will realize her role in all of this. She is just there to act like she owns the establishment, and then grabs your empty dishes. The food and drinks: If you like IPAs, you will appreciate their offerings. If you like generic California dry wines, you will like their offerings. If you prefer anything else, look elsewhere. The wings were worse than some of the wings I've had in Canada and other places I've been outside the state. Stay away from the dill flavored wings, which are just flavorless wings with a drizzle of dressing and dill. I'm assuming their regular wings are better. All this being said, I'm giving this place 3 stars for having a good ambiance, heat, and set in a historic part of Buffalo. read more

This is a review of Brews, Bites & Tunes! Every Tuesday in June from 5-9 there are food trucks,live music, and beer in the outdoor beer garden in front of the building. The music was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the beer was average. I had the blueberry pilsner, which tasted like flat soda pop. I've been here at least 3 times- I climb right next door, so it's an easy spot to grab dinner or a snack before or after. I've mostly stuck to the burgers, chicken wings and salads on the menu and I will say the food has improved since I first got here, but the kitchen still needs a bit more training to consistently get it right. The burgers, for instance -- has been pretty consistently dry and a bit overdone. I want a tasty, juicy burger next time I come here and I hope the review and feedback will help. Wish they had a few fall pumpkin or apple flavors. Service was quick. Lots of seating and parking available. We ordered Nachos and fried pickles. The fried pickles were good. The Nachos were cold. Literally the cheese, Nacho chips, etc. were freezing cold. We told a waiter and he got us 2 cups of warm cheese and 1 drink token. They tried to make up for it. Thank you first for offering a Mother's Day Brunch take home meal. We always go out and this year was different. Order and pick up was easy and the directions were spot on. We ate twice. We had the mimosas, frittatas and cinnamon buns for breakfast. The fruit was do good as well. My 27 year old son made this for me. The sauce for the cinnamon bun was excellent. Dinner was awesome, made by my hubby. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Out of the oven on to the plate. Add a blood orange beer. Made a great day of me. Topped off by brownies. I came to this new location after a work event last month and was impressed by the setup and decor! Definitely pretty enough for special events including weddings! 2 enormous bars, lots of bar tables and even more standing room. I'm not really a beer person but I found one I didn't mind - I think it was called "gas lamp"? I believe it was a lager. Not sure if the kitchen is serving a full menu yet but I saw some people getting hot sandwiches etc. There are cornhole games upstairs for everyone to enjoy, but apparently you can't reserve them so it's first come first serve. I'm excited to come back for a proper tour, drinks, and food. There's an outdoor area with seating so I think this upcoming summer would be the perfect time to check it out with some friends. read more

I've been to resurgence a few times. it's always really good. this time in particular was awesome because we tried another place and they didn't have low top tables for us to sit at with our baby. luckily resurgence has some in a cool spot in their brewing room. We got a flight with mostly IPAs and double IPAs they were all delicious. Highly recommend green heart, and citmo if you like hazy double/New England IPAs. Oh and my husband got the Irish breakfast...porter i can't for the life of me remember if it was a stout or Porter or something else but let me tell you I was blown away by the flavor. When I tasted it I said "we should drink that for breakfast" haha. There was notes of coffee and maple syrup. I highly recommend it!! We also got cheese curds and a pretzel. The curds were SO delicious. I got a Rueben and my husband had wrings and Mac. They were good just nothing special, if that makes sense. But I do wanna try more of their food! read more

We first ordered a beer that was flat. They changed the keg which should have solved the problem but it was flat again. Ordered an app that sat under a heat lamp for about 20min and asked a different server if they could check to see if that was our app. It was ... The burger was cooked to death, the onion rings also were burnt on it. They forgot cheese so brought out a slice in a plate. Ordered the shrimp wrap and asked ahead time if it came with green bell pepper and was told it was not green bell peppers but red... they where green. Also contained just 3 shrimp ($22 wrap?!) with WAY too much sauce, just oozed all over and was impossible to eat. The building is cool but generally loud. Haven't been here in a while, I got the wings and they were great! My wife can't have gluten so this always seems to be an issue but really shouldn't be. They offer a gluten free roll so the wrap she wanted they should be able to make just as a sandwich, well first they serve her someone else's food which was a fried chicken sandwich which definitely was not gluten free, then they bring her a plain chicken sandwich with tomato and lettuce. The wrap was suppose to have cheddar, pickled reds, and bbq. She works in the industry so will not send food back, just disappointed something simple shouldn't be hard.... read more

I visited 20 breweries while in Buffalo, all of them the highest rated according to multiple sources. My favorite among all 20 is Resurgence. I never got to their original location, but did really like the newer location on Chicago Street. The place is huge and they have both a lot of lively indoor space as well as some fun outdoor space. If you've read my other reviews, you know I'm not an IPA guy, however I ordered the Resurgence IPA at any restaurant or bar that had it on tap. While at the brewery I did enjoy their stouts as well as their IPA's. They also make some great tasting food. My favorite is their Royale Burger which is delicious and different from many other burgers you can get. read more

This place is really close to 4 stars but I genuinely don't understand why places leave giant garage doors open in 85 plus degree weather. If I wanted to sit outside I would sit outside but with those doors wide open you have nowhere to escape the heat. So I don't really want to drink craft beer inside a sauna disguised as a brewery. OTHERWISE it's a really cool space. We've visited a few times now one being for lunch. We got an order of wings and fries. The wings were good / average. The fries were really good especially with a side of ranch. ( blue cheese recipe needs some work) The waitress was super nice and attentive. The atmosphere is awesome and there's tons of space at the bar. If you venture upstairs it's a really cool elegant space with rustic charm that would be perfect at an event venue. Once all the construction settles down I hope they put in some more parking spaces but in the mean time there's plenty of parking across the street. read more

Stopped here during a brief day trip to Buffalo and very glad that I did - these beers were fantastic! Granted I'm a big fan of stouts and don't mind some sweetness, so I ended up really fawning over their options like the peanut butter stout and the s'mores imperial stout. Dark, strong, sweet, delicious! Ended up buying some other flavours to go and those did not disappoint either. The food selection is a bit limited, but happy they offer beyond meat for vegetarian folk, and the fries were top notch. The space was very large, and it's neat to sit right by the distillery. It was a touch on the cold side (perhaps because you're literally sitting in the distillery?) but thankfully the beer warms ya right up. read more
