Paola had explained a "secret" menu item that was an upgrade from the flat iron steak I was considering. A hanger steak meal with shrimp. It was a lovely entree and I should have asked specifically what it cost. I assumed it would be slightly higher than the $42 cost of the flat iron entree. Not $85! Paola did not mention this. When I commented that it would have been appropriate to mention this, Paola nodded yes. I would have not ordered the meal-I do not consider the hanger steak entree worth that cost. Came in yesterday (Friday night) with no reservations needed. Called ahead in case it was packed and we were getting hangry. Food: Our server was Cherish. She was very funny and made sure we had a good time. I got the Rosemary's Chicken and Biscuits. It was DELICIOUS. The chicken was crispy and seasoned right. I dipped my chicken with some mashed potatoes and dabbed it up with some sausage gravy. I was out of this world. (Also, they have hot sauce so don't be shy to ask!). My husband got the Double Oklahoma Smash Burger. He let me take the first bite and it was so juicy and symphony of flavors swirling in my mouth with some crispy tater tots that went well with some ranch. You didn't even need dipping sauce. And they give you nice hot warm towels at the end to wipe your hands. It was overall a great casual date night experience. Everything was delicious. We were surprised how much we liked it here. In this case, though, it felt like they were trying to hurry us along, almost like they wanted us to rush out. The ambiance is very rustic, earthy and vintage. It's a great chill vibe - in downtown Brea. The food was great! The appetizers were great. The pretzel itself didn't seem too salty and felt airy. The dip was a blend of spices that went well with the cheese and spinach. +1 for the bread that it came with. I went with the smash burger. The seasoning on the burger was spot-on, but it felt like something was missing. The patty's flavor seemed to overshadow the taste of the vegetables. The fries, however, were enjoyable. Great Food, Excellent Service, Minor Atmosphere Issues We came to Reunion Kitchen + Drink in Brea for a business dinner with a group of over 10 people. The seating arrangement was comfortable and worked well for our group - though unfortunately, the late afternoon sun was directly in the eyes of half the table. A small drawback, but worth noting if you're there before sunset. The atmosphere is stylish and relaxed, but the music was louder than we would have liked for an early evening dinner. It made conversation a bit challenging. The staff was kind enough to turn it down when we asked, but it still remained a bit louder than ideal for a business gathering. On the bright side, the service was excellent--friendly, knowledgeable servers who kept things moving smoothly all night. We felt well taken care of. For appetizers, we tried the calamari, Asian sticky ribs, deep-fried jalapeños, and bruschetta. All were delicious, but the bruschetta was my personal favorite--super fresh with perfect flavor balance. The jalapeños were fun but unpredictable--some mild, some packing quite the punch! The cocktails were a highlight. Everyone loved their drinks, and being there during happy hour made it even better. I tried the Dirty Goose martini, which came with fresh deep-fried olives stuffed with bleu cheese--absolutely delicious. Entrées were a hit with most of the table. Loved trying this new spot in downtown Brea. First, you can easily make reservations here on yelp! Big plus. The food was amazing we tried the chicken pot pie which came with a side of grilled veggies. It was so delicious I can't wait to go back and order again. The prices were a little high.. like $16 for small margaritas so I took off one star, but the place is nice and service is great. Parking is a little inconvenient because you have to park behind which is possible on a slow weeknight but if improv has an event or it's the weekend you'll need to valet or use a structure. I actually really do recommend going here. They actually have a pretty solid menu, their drinks are pretty good and the atmosphere is really nice for a sports bar. It's not too crazy and I feel like the prices are really good overall for what it is, I give this place a solid eight out of 10 for what it is. The hibiscus margarita was probably one of the best margaritas I've ever had. So vibrant and fresh tasting! We loved our main entrees: Short Rib Stroganoff and the Chicken Pot Pie. Both were so good! Couldn't decide which was better. The only item that was terrible was the pumpkin butter cake. It was so terribly good that we almost picked up the plate and licked it! The service was wonderful too. We were blessed to have Jacob M serving us. He was great, giving us personalized service and recommendations. The restaurant is a large and open restaurant with a lot of comfortable seating. We always eat early so the restaurant wasn't as crowded as I'm sure it gets around dinner time. Because of that, we were seated immediately and the service was really quick and efficient. Parking is located behind the building. I can see how parking might be an issue if you are going during a busier time since they share the parking lot with other businesses and restaurants.
