Usually we love coming here. Tonight's dinner and service is very subpar. Entrée arrived and they forgot our soup. We had to ask for someone to check on the soup. Shredded cheese was more like clumps of cheese. Couscous has the refreshing lemon flavor, but rather dominating and covering up the other spices.
I discovered the Nordstrom Marketplace Café at Brea Mall back in January while working nearby, and it quickly became one of my go to spots. I only get a 30 minute break, so having something quick and good close by meant a lot to me. I have spent well over $100 here in the past month alone, and while I have genuinely enjoyed the food, my orders are frequently off in small ways like missing sauces, missing sides, or undercooked vegetables. I never complained about any of that because I understand things happen and I did not want to cause issues. The first time I ever called was March 10th when my chicken tenders were unusually tough. They remade it, but when I came to pick it up, I was treated very coldly by management like I had done something wrong just for speaking up. On March 26th, I received overcooked potatoes and called again. This was only the second time I have ever called despite multiple visits. After being on hold, Porsche got on the phone and told me this was becoming a pattern and that moving forward I would need to verify my food before leaving because they have no proof otherwise and cannot help if I do not eat in the restaurant. That honestly shocked me. Calling twice out of many visits is not a pattern, especially when I have overlooked several other mistakes without saying anything. It felt like I was being accused of trying to get free food, which is completely untrue. I also work in the mall and physically cannot sit and eat there. I have a 30 minute break, and by the time I walk there, order, wait, and walk back, I barely have time to eat. So being told they cannot help unless I dine in is unrealistic and unfair. Beyond that, I have consistently noticed a difference in how I am treated compared to other customers. Conversations feel short and dismissive, and it is honestly uncomfortable. Not that it should matter, but I am a working professional and influencer. I am not someone trying to get over or get free food. I simply expect the same respect as any other paying customer. The food can be good, but the customer service, especially in how concerns are handled, really needs improvement. I was offered to have the potatoes refried, at first I accepted but I decided not to support at ALL and wrote a formal complaint instead. I will not be back.
Thank you to the lovely lady in the green shirt who recommended a fabulous meal. She was hustling the cash register, stocking wine, and expediting the orders in the back kitchen. I did not get your name but you absolutely deserve kudos! I am pretty sure you were the manager because you were an amazing representation of the Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe Customer Service. I had the best meal here! From the bread and butter right down to the darn tasty pizza. There was a line right at opening. Do not sleep on the pizza and salads! The Bruschetta Pizza was surprisingly delicious and the Blackened Salmon Salad was Devine. Eric provided nice customer service as well. What a pleasant experience and when I am in the area again, I will be sure to stop by :)
My friend and I came here for lunch around 10:50 AM and noticed a line forming to place orders before being seated. We placed our order while standing in line and were then escorted to our table, which made the process smooth and efficient. The food was good overall--my pasta was a bit on the salty side for my taste, but not enough to ruin the meal. I do wish they had a nice coffee option available; if they did, we would've stayed longer to enjoy it. Instead, we headed to Nordstrom coffee afterward. Still, it's a nice spot to satisfy your hunger before or after shopping!
Came here with my mom recently and it was such a pleasant experience. I wish I remembered our servers name but we were here like two weeks ago so I forgot she did a phenomenal job. My water and coffee were bottomless. The food was absolutely delicious, and the place itself was really cute. We sat at a booth by the window. Overall, really nice and memorable experience. I'd definitely come back
I haven't been to this Nordstrom in years, let alone dining at the Cafe (3rd fl). I was glad to see that their signature staple items were still available. My go-to Asian Chicken Salad and iced tea. Still fresh & chilled, nicely tossed with right amount of dressing and juicy grilled chicken breast on top. Jazzy was our server and she took our order, made sure our drinks were refilled, and allowed us to enjoy our meals & conversations without much interruptions.
Awesome place to get food without it feeling too fast or too casual. They have great customer service. Order at the counter and you will have a server to refill your drinks or add any additional orders for you. They give you mint chocolate at the end. Food is basic, but good! If it's a nice day, there's a small balcony where you can sit outside.
I ate here with my family and had the chicken lemon pesto gnocchi. You order and pay at the front before your food arrives. I didn't notice anything that made the pasta stand out, but overall, it tasted good. The restaurant has a cozy and peaceful ambience if you come early before it gets crowded.

I ate here on my lunch break last week. The special of the day was a potato leek pizza. I personally felt they could cut the leek portion in half otherwise it was a good pizza. Service was decent especially outdoors, its nice to have fresh air eap during covid times. read more
Came here with my daughter to grab a quick bite before doing a little shopping at the Brea Mall. She ordered the grilled salmon with couscous and I ordered the salmon Niçoise salad. Normally I enjoy their salmon dishes as I have had both in the past but today the chef/ cook way over cooked both of our salmons so it was both dry and tough. Sorry to say but it was not very enjoyable today and I usually love coming here. I upgraded my review to a 3 for the service which was very good. Food wise I was not as happy since it is a pricier lunch. I don't mind spending the money if the food is enjoyable. Not so enjoyable today. read more
The last time we dined here our experience was less than par. Service was slow and there was no shrimp available for my salad. One of our favorite managers, Jamie, had left about a week prior and we decided not to return to dine here...until yesterday. It was convenient because we were shopping in the mall. I'm so glad we gave this place another chance because the food was excellent as usual and the service was fantastic! Don't know why it took me so long to hear about this place !!! When I think of getting food in the mall I think about the food court. So happy I gave this place a try !!! The food is such amazing quality and just absolutely delicious !! Even the kids meal ( which I order from also, guilty!! ) everything is so fresh and so tasty!! It's been a long time since I've been to a Marketplace Cafe, but during the holidays I decided to have breakfast with my mom here since she has never tried it before and wanted to check it out for herself. First you have to place your order at the counter and once that is done and you have paid you can take a seat at any of the tables. We sat at a booth because I'm not really a fan or regular chairs. They aren't comfortable. I wasn't especially hungry so I had a cup of coffee and a bowl of clam chowder soup. My mom has their traditional breakfast which is pretty simple and done pretty good. Overall I never had their clam chowder before but thought it was alright and it was pretty filling. The cup of coffee is refillable, just ask the waiter when they are next to you. read more

Delicious burrata the bread is crispy on the outside and still soft. The pesto and balsamic vinegar compliment it perfectly. If I could I would eat this everyday. Their pizzas are really good. And of course who can forget their crème brûlée!! read more

Love all the Nordstrom cafe! The food is always soo good, service is great and it's a nice restaurant but also can be casual. My go to is always the heirloom tomato & burrata appetizer & the tomato soup. The cilantro lime salad is a staple as well. read more

We always try to stop by if we are in the store, specially because their salmon salad. Today we even had a mimosa. Prices are not cheap, but the quality is very consistent. Love Rifka, our server, she was so sweet and helpful. Great food. Love the service. Rifka was the best ! read more
COCKROACH ALERT!!! I ordered a salad from Nordstrom for togo and as I was eating it I bit into an unpleasant crunch. When I spat it out, I was absolutely disgusted to find that it was a dead cockroach. I immediately lost my appetite. I never post negative reviews but this is something that I need to call attention to. I couldn't believe the unsanitary conditions, especially from an establishment such as Nordstrom. They are open for inside seating !! I love eating outside ,but sometimes it's nice to be inside . Their food is so fresh and made to order. If you're ever in the area go check them out. Don't forget they have happy hour on wine read more

I came to the Nordstrom Cafe for lunch as I was short on time and was attending event within the mall. I have eaten numerous times at the Cafe in Fashion Valley so I hoped the food and service was as great as the other location. It was! I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich. It was super delicious but quite messy. Don't get if you don't want to screw up your makeup as you will need lots of napkins. The chicken itself was a bit bland but with all of the extra items, the sandwich was quite delicious. The first thing I noticed was the fantastic bread. It was perfectly grilled and crispy, not crunchy. The cheese was melted just right. You can't go wrong with ripe avocado and the sweet red pepper added another level of flavor. Everything was tied together with the sauce. Along side of the sandwich, you get a cute little bag of homemade chips. They were unusual but very good. Super crispy & crunchy but light like a kettle chip. I was glad they were not oily. They weren't spicy as I expected but had a rich mesquite flavor almost bbq like. There are quite a few booths that seat four people along the perimeter of the restaurant while tables are spread within the middle. If you are lucky, you can seat at a window to get a view of the outside trees and foliage. Waiters come by to bring your food and drink order to you. They periodically check up on you to make sure you have everything you need. read more

Nordstrom has a café besides the coffee cart in the front of almost every store? Third floor - you have to look for it - but it's there! It's the classist order at the counter, then table service from that point forward restaurant I've ever been at. The service is pretty first class all the way. You do order before you sit down, but from that point on, it's 100% table service. The food was most excellent! We both had the French Dip. The meat was medium to medium rare, top grade beef. The roll had the perfect blend of parmesan cheese to roll (sorry, can't remember the name of the bread it was one, but it was good!). They served chips instead of fries, which was actually perfect for lunch. We then had the lemon cookie for desert. Oh wow! Just enough light lemon taste with a light cake type cookie. Perfection. Had to take 2/3's of it home because we were so full from the French Dips. So since it's Nordstrom's, it's not cheap. Plan on $20 per person if you're getting a drink. And even though you order at the counter, you should still tip. The service we got warranted it. read more
