It was my first time here, and the decor was very nice and dimly lit. The service staff seemed a bit frazzled and perhaps short staffed? When I initially came in, I asked for a table of two and they didn't say anything looked around and I waited for 10 minutes without them saying a single word to me. I figured they were quite busy so I sat down and waited and continue to make eye contact, but they never said anything. I then intended to go back up after 10 minutes and ask for a table of two and I was seated relatively quickly. However, when it came to ordering food, the server seemed quite busy and like they could've used some assistance because it was very difficult to get their attention to order more food. I will say that after reading some of the other reviews and them saying the cocktails were lacking, I would have to agree. I enjoy a finally crafted cocktail or even just a decent cocktail and I tasted two and immediately dislike them. The food was very good and cooked nicely. She forgot to get our soups but the food came out fast the short rib was a total disappointment the demiglase was nothing more then very bland au-jus. We had a large party. The service was not good at all. It started with the girl at the front desk after my sister checked in, and I arrived. We were the only patrons sitting there. I asked if she could hold the cake that we brought with us in the refrigerator in the back. With a slight attitude, she looked at me and says I don't even know what's going on are you leaving or coming? Huh?! Why would I ask you to put the cake in the refrigerator if I was headed out? Think about it! We had to wait longer than average for our drinks and for the waiter to take the order. Expediters's were unprofessional by coming out and just shoving the plates on the table and delivering an extremely hot plate to one of our guests who burned their hand. These young inexperienced workers need more training. None of our dirty plates were taken away until the end when we asked. We were there for about an hour and a half and not one person came to see if we needed anything. We had to keep flagging down employees who were walking by to help us. My neck hurts from turning too many times looking for the waiter. We were all very cordial to the waiter and he tried to be funny when coming to the table, but his attentiveness was is rated a one. He didn't listen to us when we asked for separate checks. He delivered all on one at the other end of the table and when we tried to stop him and remind him that we asked for two checks he said the guy at the end of the table, picked it up. It was terrible. Food was not great either it was average. I've had better. To top it off, at the very end, the waiter came around with two plates of what he said 'nice warm, wet towels'. They were all cold and half were dry. LOL! We all work hard these days and we want to go out and enjoy ourselves, but not at an establishment that doesn't care about their guests. Took my mother to RK for Mother's Day, 4 of us. The food was average, ordered a Thai chicken Salad. The chicken was hard as if sitting in the fridge all night long, still cool too. Downtown Brea's latest addition is a huge hit! Reunion is located right between Old Brea Chop House and Yardhouse, and the vibe of the restaurant itself matches its placement well. It's not quite as pricey as OBCH, but more upscale and higher quality than Yardhouse, making it the perfect place for a casual date night or a fancier dinner with kids. Everything is new, sleek, and modern, and kept nice and clean. The food - from what we've tried so far - is also delicious! I highly recommend the appetizer sampler platter and the Short Rib Stroganoff. I'm also excited to go back and try lots of their other offerings! I will say we got the Worlds Best Kid Burger for my son and it didn't really look like a burger? So he didn't end up eating it because he's 2.5 and it didn't look appetizing to him lol so maybe try something different for the kids. The service was great. Servers were very prompt and friendly. Perhaps you have felt nervous trying a new restaurant. My wife feels that way every time. She has several food allergies and we frequently feel that staff is confused, indifferent, or too busy to bother. Reunion Kitchen was the opposite of all that. The server was careful to note all her allergies and went back to the kitchen to speak with the head chef. After a second visit to the kitchen to ask the chef, the chef himself came out to our table to make sure my wife was able to eat her meal with confidence. He made suggestions and provided alternatives that would avoid all her allergies. That is a level of customer service we have never seen before. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, avocado, and garlic mayonnaise that was full of flavor and included a surprise, potato chips. It reminded me of lunch sandwiches from childhood. I had the grilled meatloaf wrapped in bacon with sautéed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Both meals met my wife's allergy needs, the meatloaf was so flavorful we decided to share both meals.
