First of all, it's run beautifully. Joe knows what he is doing.. The food was amazing. I had the Venison Monti. It's delicious. Deer meat, their signature Satsuma Jelly, goat cheese and bacon on a toasted bun and hand cut fries. It was great! Will be back. Nice addition to small town USA read more

It's hard to get 5 stars out of me, but I truly believe this newish place is a total gem. I've never been disappointed with a meal, and I love how active they are on social media, constantly requesting feedback, promoting local and seasonal foods, and they have the healthiest options for kids that I've seen at any local restaurant. I'm truly impressed to have this place within walking distance of my house. They have a great wine selection, local beers, and have been talking about having a farmer's market on the weekends, which would be so great for our town. The restaurant was once an abandoned convenience store (there is an abundance of them in Monticello, so bring on more awesome businesses like Rev!) and it is so nice to have that blighted rundown corner turn into something this town needed so badly. read more

I really wanted to like this place as the menu and atmosphere were great. The food was mostly mediocre. I had the pan seared redfish wish had no sear to it and minimal flavor. My wife had the ribeye that was also pan seared. Once again minimal flavor. They offer flame grilled ribeye on the menu but the waitress said it wasn't available. Our friends had the southern fried chicken and a burger and both thought the same (minimal flavor). We would go back as the grits and peach cobbler were awesome. This is our favorite restaurant in Monticello. Last night We had softshell crab stuffed with crab meat. Stuffing was a little rich but overall well cooked. Salad with vinaigrette that was more yogurt based than oil, not the usual taste we've come to expect. Maybe Next week things will be back up to par. Is there new staff in the kitchen? The flavors at this little unsuspecting restaurant in the sleepy town of Monticello are far greater than some I've experienced in the big cities that boast themselves as culinary havens. If you're driving along I-10, avoid the Tally hustle and drive the 4 miles off the interstate to enjoy this place! Loved it. Fried green tomatoes are great, Caesar dressing rivals that of the Bull and Bear in the Ritz Carlton in NYC. Fried chicken is what we southerners refer to as 'church chicken' style and the collards were perfect! Can't say enough, oh and the bread pudding was delish! We plan to be back next time we pass through. read more

This was the perfect Southern hospitable dining experience. We had the Shrimp & Grits, Shrimp & Pasta and "Peach Cobbler Bread Pudding". Everything from start to finish was delicious, right down to the Tea! We found Rev Cafe through Yelp while traveling on I-10. It sounded great. It was great. I had Shrimp and Grits and he had Fried Chicken with French Fries. My dish was very tasty. I got the larger portion and I needed a go box. His chicken was also good and the hand cut fries were really good. He also needed a go box. If we lived in the area we would become a regular. Way over priced , average food their craft beer sucks the atmosphere was drab you could hear the employees complaining about one another, the service is slow and unfortunately most dishes are plated on a tin tray that was stained the food came out slow and cold we had to keep asking for refills but I guess it's better than nothing when there isn't many choices in a small town where either your choices are fast food or overpriced average food or needing to take a mortgage out on your house to be able to afford a great tasting meal. Fantastic! We were passing through due to hurricane Nate and visited twice over 3 days. The food is fresh and they have venison! The shepards pie was tasty! The chef was kind enough to cook an entree off the menu for our disabled son . The tractor soda was interesting and only available from a fountain in select US locations. Service was excellent. We will definitely return when we come back though the area!! A very pleasant surprise for such a small community. read more

My boyfriend and I were taking a weekend trip and decided to eat at rev Café for dinner. We both had beef hamburgers and got extremely sick! Ruined our entire weekend and had to come home early. My boyfriend called the owner the following week and said he was very sorry and wanted to send us a gift card to come back and try it again. Fairly new place the wife and I finally had time to try. Simple menu that featured, get this, Venison Sliders and Chili. Found it to be a high end Cafe as no Prices were noted by the menu items. Not a nig deal right? Food should be "johh end. So I ordered the Venison Chili and the wife had Shrimp and Grits. Her portion of shrimp was passable, not over cooked and the Grits. Though enough, both dishes were luke warm. My chili seemed be thrown together in a hurry as the tomatos the size of golf balls cut in half and the bell pepper(?) wer big as well and still had seeds in them. Now the Venison was Not gamey, but was very Luke warm and bland. The two dishes, a tea an a draft Bud Light - $31.03. What a wonderful surprise! Revs Restaurant is to die for! Local sourced foods, homemade pasta, salad greens that don't taste like a bag and handmade dressings. The sweet tea was perfect and the menu has something for everyone. The cream sauce on the handmade pasta was made per order and the shrimp were big and juicy.
