The service was phenomenal. As soon as we walked in the door we were attended. I went with my boyfriend's mum and it was her first mani/pedi and she loved it as well. Horrible visit technician cut my nails to the point where they hurt after I specified the length I wanted. Nail tech yelled at me card or cash was rude until she figured I would tip her. I felt rushed the whole time like it was a chore. I know they work long hours and their bodies can be in pain from but if it's that terrible to do a job leave or take time off. I've gone here for a year and I haven't been treated like this they know who I am whenever I come in and have been nice to me before. I feel disrespected. I would to think it's because of the color of my skin. I was told my points could not be redeemed for a free manicure or discount on my service when I have over 10 points. They refuse to check the system or come up with a solution to my request. I'm disappointed and have been disrespected and will not be coming back. read more

I am SO not impressed. I came here on a whim instead of my usual place (Lincoln Square Nails) and WHAT. A. MISTAKE. Not only do I find that their no-chip manicure is expensive, but they provide nothing but mediocre service, and the day after I got my nails done I left for my trip abroad, and my nail chipped! two days later, another nail chipped! 11 days later and 5 chipped nails. No chip my ass. Maybe get girls who actually know how to apply gel polish and let it set appropriately and this wouldn't have happened. Will not be returning. P.S. Sadly, I found this nail salon right before I moved out of Chicago. I'd been to several other salons throughout the years but never found one that I liked enough to visit again. I usually do my own nails but decided to pamper myself shortly after having my baby. Lynda was kind enough to squeeze me in at the last minute. The salon itself is very clean and pretty, and the service was prompt and friendly. I was really pleased with the results and would definitely return the next time we are back home visiting. I love this place! By far the best nail spot in the area. The prices are great, they take their time and do thorough work, and I just love that BYOB is not only accepted, but encouraged. So far, I've gotten two regular mani-pedi's (they have really nice massage chairs) as well as a wax. The entire place is clean and the staff is friendly. My pedicure was great, but my manicure... not so much. 24 hours after receiving it, the manicure had chipped away at the edges and I noticed gaps where the polish hadn't been applied. And about half of my fingers have hangnails. I'll come back for a pedicure, but stick to painting my own fingers. read more

I have gone to Revamp often because it's very close to my place and I like to take advantage of the cash deals when I can. Twee is absolutely wonderful - she is always friendly, helpful and caring. I've always had good conversation with her and the other patrons are always happy when she is around. However, I have noticed that for the past four or five visits, barely anyone else working there greets me when I come in or says goodbye when I leave. I've gotten some stares, and someone might ask what I want without a smile. I've observed that there is a marked difference between how I am treated and how other patrons (who are generally white) are treated. Lily (I believe her name is) who seems to be in charge when the manager is away, purposely avoids eye contact with me. This has happened four or five times now. The last time, which was October 24, she greeted and said goodbye to three or four ladies as they left and then was very clearly looking down at her phone when I left, even though I stood there for a minute getting my jacket on. Twee called a goodbye from across the store, because it was that obvious I was being ignored. I went back last week just to speak to Vivian (the owner) after this last time. She has always been gracious and welcoming. She heard me and commented that perhaps the employees need more training, and was surprised that I had experienced this treatment. She insisted it was not personal or racist, but I am not so sure. I have to give Revamp a low score not because of their work, but because of their customer service. Perhaps they think I'm not a "big spender", so why bother with equal treatment, but they could do a lot better. I've had to go back because I've needed to get a quick mani for gigs, but it's gotten under my skin to the point that I will not give them any more business if this continues. read more

I visited 2 weeks ago for a dip manicure. I was excited only to be let down. My manicure left much to be desired (was very uneven and lumpy) and my skin was cut multiple times by the automatic filing. I was left sitting for 15+ minutes in the middle of my service so a "regular" customer who showed up 20 minutes early for her appointment could be attended to. The technicians here are put on timers which are constantly going off in the salon. They are too focused on quantity over quality. read more

I was disappointed with this place. I had an appointment and waited 25 minutes to be seated and then it took an hour and a half to get through my no chip manicure. The lady who did my nails got up to answer the phone, help others, etc. at least 10 times. They don't offer the "cash deal" anymore which was a let down and the whole reason I went here. Not as thrilled with how my nails turned out either. "Next time I'll cut your cuticles more" is what I was told as I was leaving. I need to start off my saying- STAY AWAY. Now, let me explain. I walked in and I was very excited given the good reviews and I was looking to try something new in the area. I was greeted right away by friendly staff, so it was definitely off to a good start. When I was taken to the back part of the salon for my pedicure, something I have never could have imagined happened. A roach fell from the ceiling onto the pedicure chair that I was about to sit in. I can not make this up. Given this was the only chair left I didn't really have another choice but to wait for the nail tech to kill the roach, clean the chair, and have me sit down. I talked myself out of panic by saying, what are the odds that happen. No way will I see another. I mean we are in Chicago, there's roaches everywhere. But I remembering hearing once, when there is one, there is many. Fast forward 5 minutes, there is another crawling on the wall next to me. Again, I can not make this up. Attached is a photo to prove it. To add more to this already awful experience, I had a gross revelation while getting my no chip manicure. After my first coat of polish, I put my hand in the UV drier and an instant foul smell of feet came oozing from the contraption. I was so confused. I could then feel so much dirt, grime, and oil that my fingers were resting on inside of the machine. I put two and two together and realized they do not sanitize these machines, even though they are interchangeably used for hands and feet. I was so disgusted once again. I took my hands out and they were stained with the smell of feet. And to top everything all off, my manicure and pedicure were both extremely sloppily done. I at least had high hopes for a good job well done, but I guess my expectations were too high. I had an extremely unrelaxed pedicure and disgustingly grimy manicure. I will never step foot in this place again, and I suggest you do the same. So many other places in the area that do a better job without the roaches and feet smell on your hands! read more

My favorite thing about this place is how nice the staff is. Linda is nothing but smiles and warmth, and it seems like everyone who works there is equally kind. I got a no-chip manicure from Diem and it turned out great. She was meticulous with the nail shaping, cuticles and polish. She also mentioned they guarantee your no-chip for 10 or 14 days (I can't remember which...) so if it chips before then, you can come in and they'll take care of it. I have been coming here for 6-7 years. However, lately there has been a change of owners or I'm not sure what the issue is but they can't seem to keep the efficiently and smoothness that Linda kept. Today, being in a rush because I have an event tomorrow night, I came here to get a regular manicure and pedicure which I confirmed was $35 over the phone. I arrived and the first thing the tech did was try and push services of extra charge to me. 5 times I was insisted to get this or that when I was very clear that I just wanted a regular manicure and pedicure. Next, when doing my manicure, she took off my no-chip (which she stated was $5 extra to remove). I had no issues there. And then she told me that it would be $45. Why 45? According to her the paint for my nails was $5 extra. Seeing my nails were already shaped and cleaned I told her that in that case I didn't need to get the paint. We get to the cash register and she tells me $3 for color. Besides the fact that I thought the color was included with a manicure, now you are just charging me what you want? Very unprofessional and after 6-7 years of coming here, I will go somewhere else. read more
