I went in this week for a manicure and a pedicure. Basic polish no gel. I got the most basic services for both. While I will say this included some nice amenities with the pedicure like a leg scrub in the hot towel steam, I cannot speak for the quality of the actual polish and work done by the technician. This is probably the worst overall nail product. I've been left with from a salon appointment. The nails are textured and peeling three of them have already peeled off. When I paint my nails at home, I can usually keep the polish on for about two weeks and this hasn't made it three days. The workers were very nice, and overall the salon was relatively clean, but I will not be returning. When the bottle of white that I chose was starting to run a little dry, a different white was substituted for one nail and, to me, the difference is stark. Overall, the service took about two hours which surprised me because with a basic mani pedi typically you're out much quicker than that. The technician started over on my nails multiple times, completely removing all polish, to try again, which was odd to me. From the pictures you can see that the final product I was left with was very bubbly and uneven. I paid $60 in total and the value was very much not worth it. read more

Hi, I'm responding to your response on google. Thanks for that by the way. I've had fill-ins at other salons, even when I couldn't make it to my usual spot, and I've never left with nails this uneven or poorly shaped. I raised concerns during the appointment and asked for fixes multiple times. At a certain point, it's not on the client to keep repeating themselves--the technician should take responsibility. She was also watching a show during the service, which didn't help. Saying I confirmed satisfaction at the end ignores that I was being polite after already voicing frustration as I didn't ask for a discount or anything. I spoke to the front desk because nothing was actually addressed the front desk because of the unpleasant experience I had. Then dissatisfaction with my actual nails. Which is shat anyone would do. Also I didn't trust the hygiene after I used the bathroom causing me to find a reason to cancel my pedi. You shouldn't defend these nails. Please be for real. I think for what we got in the area, this place is spot on. Living right at the cusp of Avondale/Logan Square, I have given way too much energy and unnecessary money to "talent" in LP. Not only did the girls take me right in on a Friday before mom's day, but my tech Paris did an amazing job hooking up some 4 week old acrylic tragedies. I wasn't expecting the quality and attention that was given, these girls clearly love what they do and are good at it. Spent $73 for two nails to break in less than a week. I've never had nails break in the first two weeks at least. When I called to get the second nail fixed she asked if I could come in tomorrow. Absurd, if your clients come first you should take care of the clients that you've already service and who have PAID. It only takes 20 min tops to fix one nail. I'd like to add that the technician who originally helped me and fixed my nail was very nice. read more

This was my first time going here. I needed a last minute set for a photoshoot. Booking was easy and they were very accommodating. The nails themselves turned out pretty nice. The nails turned out like the picture but there are a few crooked nails and imperfections that I noticed when I left. For me the biggest issue is that I was cut several times. I actually bled during the appointment but no one seemed to notice. It was actually pretty painful and still is. My nail tech was very nice but I will say they were on the phone the whole service - that personally doesn't bother me- but I could see that being an issue for someone else. The other staff were very nice as well. Overall I likely won't be back here just for the reason of being cut during my appointment. I came for the first time to get a pedi and a full set. My appointment was at 545pm and by 6pm I had a girl working on my feet and another girl working on my nails. By 715 my toes were done but my nails were still being shaped at 830 so I left to return a few days later to get my design which took another 2.5 hours! That design should not have taken longer than 30 minutes. I spent almost 5hours there total and I was charged $60 for the design and $60 for the full set - $120 total and was offered no discount for the inconvenience. Today I went to get a fill with no design and it costs $5 less than a full set. The prices don't make sense here at all read more

This is my second time giving this place a try. They rush you in so fast and they push you out. They don't have a dryer for your toenails. So you wait there for 10 minutes. When they do your nails, they don't do a top coat over the polish like other places do. Next time, I'll save my money and drive to another town. I've been here three times for mani-pedis and felt compelled to write a review. At my recent visit, the woman doing my pedicure had NO idea what she was doing. She made numerous mistakes, didn't use sanitized tools, cut too deep and created hangnails where there weren't any, and didn't speak English so she didn't understand when I told her it hurt too much. I thought in IL you need to have training and a nail technician license before working in a salon. I had to ask for someone else to do my manicure. I guess I'm not the only one (reading reviews) ......I got my nails done this past week (seen on social media) and my fingers and feet are still swollen from all the bleeding and digging in my skin. I'm on an antibiotic at the moment because I don't have time to be in the hospital. It sucks because I haven't got a pedicure in two years. This is my first pedicure in a while and can't even wear my heels. If the owner sees this, tell your technicians to pay attention and get off of their goddamn phones when they're have cuticle cutters on someone's skin. I pulled my hand back multiple times because I do not like bleeding and being scarred and bruised! I don't need anyone's ridiculous for bottle. I don't wanna hear it. This is just a tip. Very friendly nail techs, which was very nice. The reason for my 2 stars is the place isn't very clean, it's not hygienic, and the no chip chips and lifts very quickly. No chips lasts me at least 2 weeks if not longer. It chipped within days. I'm new to the area and I have tried this place a couple of times. Last time I went they didn't take their utensils from a bag or a disinfecting oven like the places I've gone to before. It was obvious they had been used before. The towel was also very dirty. The bowl with water was dirty. The no chip light was sticky and dirty inside. The facility is overall dirty. I don't think given the current pandemic this is smart business. I'll try another place. I really want to like this place, but I've been here 5 times now and they are so aggressive with my nails. They aren't friendly, they don't talk to the customers they just talk to each other. They rip my cuticles to the point they are red and bleeding. Half of them are on their phones and don't even pay attention to what they are doing. I truly have no intention of bashing this business therefore I do hope they see this and take the criticism to better change their practices. This shop is very unprofessional. They take appointments yet somehow manage to not keep them in line for whatever reason. I had an appointment and went in at the set time only to be kept waiting for nearly 2 hours. This was not the first time this has happened. Another major concern is their cleanliness. I do not see them adequately sanitizing tools in between clients. They do however wear gloves. I visited this shop for the first time today and was more than pleased with the service. They offer 4 or 5 different pedicure choices starting at $22. I had the Spa Pedicure which is $26 and a no chip manicure which was $30. The technicians were professional and took their time so that my hands and toes looked perfect. Girls- you know when you wash your hair and your nails get stuck when rinsing out shampoo/conditioner? Yeah FML!! They are also now charging an additional $5 if you want your cuticles trimmed. LOL!! This nail salon was amazing. It was reasonably priced, and they were very nice! Cash is preferred here, but they do accept card with a small fee. My nails get so many compliments and I'm in love. Phoenix did my nails, and he was so so so nice and talented! Even though I live in Hyde park, this will be my nail spot because how great the service was. They had a great variety of options. Also they have a punch card if you want to be a regular. I love my nails, and feel like a little disco queen! P.s. any reviews about how they "don't speak English well" are racist and xenophobic. I found this place online because I was looking for a salon that did powder dip near my apartment. For a, well say humble", appearance, I was wowed. The owner and staff are all very friendly and make a point to make you feel like this is your regular nail spot, even if you're a first timer like myself. I got a pedicure to begin and honestly it's up there with one of the best pedicures I've received. She cleaned up my summertime sandals feet and actually massaged my legs and feet as opposed to going through the motions. Powder dip was up next which - if you haven't tried powder dip and you get no chip or acrylic, give it a try. I'm very satisfied with my powder dip (and I managed to mess it up twice and she was able to save the finish as if nothing happened. The two stars is because of hygiene and a couple other small things. Upon sitting down I noticed that there was a fine dust from acrylic filing (not just one customer) which means they don't wipe things down. The UV light was really dirty on top. The whole place is generally unclean. -- Also, while I appreciate a nail salon that takes their time, a gel manicure took about an hour and 25 mins., 20 mins of which was soaking the previous gel off (long enough for the steam washcloth to get actively cold). They didn't go all the way to the sides with the polish, even leaving some white of the top part of the nail showing on the side. Plus the cuticle soak water was an icky lukewarm, and they skimp on the arm/hand massage. The tech are very nice though! And they have a TV that was playing KUWTK. read more

However, I just left in a fury as the man who did my pedicure used a cuticle cutter (YES those huge ones people can use to also cut nails!) to poorly attempt to clean my toes and then CUT ME under my nails. Using a cuticle cutter to clean under toes is like using a steak knife to clean your toes!!!Who uses a cuticle clipper to clean out toe jam!?!?When I told him he hurt me, he got an attitude and got up and walked away. I leave with my nails and toes looking and feeling beautiful each time ( Kat is really good with getting my ingrown toe nail under control) Kat ( KT Nails and Soa in general ) always put so much care and attention to cleanliness as well - I am Immune compromised and have never had any issues. went here after being recommended by a friend for an acrylic full set and my friend got dip with tips 1 week ago at 630pm. we were told the salon was running late which is usually not a problem but not only did we wait 45mins before being taken, the service took ridiculously long. we left the salon at 930 even with 2 people working on my friend and i. both sets of nails completely CAME OFF after less than 1 week. salon is the dirtiest salon ive ever been to, convinced my tools were the same ones used from the person before me. also was up-charged $7 for cuticle cutting and left the salon BLEEDING from the salonist telling me my skin was too thin (???). do not come here, a literal nightmare of a nail salon. read more

This nail salon is honestly a block away. I always went there when the old owner was there but then i found a new one because they were changing too much! I came back recently because my nail salon was too far for me to go. When I got there they attended me quickly. They took care of me! Like an actual nail salon should be the new owner did the best he could with my pedi and it was amazing!!' He gave me a massage on my feet so good that when I got up to get my nails done I lost my balance because my legs and feet where so relaxed! I never felt any better!
