As a personal trainer myself, I wouldn't trust just anyone with my own training needs. Nick is incredibly knowledgeable, and is able to find creative solutions to performance plateaus and workarounds for injuries and movement limitations. I've been training with Nick since 2013, including remotely during COVID or when I'm traveling for work. His workouts are always creative and tailored to my specific needs, whether I'm focusing on strength, climbing (bouldering), or addressing a tight shoulder muscle. In-person sessions are especially intense and fun, pushing me to achieve more than I thought possible. I've worked with Nick for over a year and it's been really awesome. I'm more used to yoga and things like that but I wanted to do muscle building but something a bit different from just weight lifting exercises in a gym. Nick creates tailor-made lessons, fresh every week, that helped me gain strength and really improve my handstands (which was super challenging--such a lot of it is headspace so he had to really coach me through them--and super exciting). Also, he's an amazing massage therapist with precision understanding of the body. Smart, motivating, and wonderful eye candy (not to mention amazingly athletic). I've been training with Nick for almost a year now and have been very happy with the results, even looking forward to more positive changes over the next year. Although I suffer from a lower back disc herniation, within a few months of working with Nick my lower back pain diminished to undetectable levels which helped me stop regularly taking Ibuprofen to reduce my back pain as it has disappeared! In addition, my husband thinks I look "hot as f*ck!" (that would be average to the rest of you out there). My stop-and-go relationship with exercise changed when I started working with Nick. His knowledge of anatomy and amazing toolbox of routines enabled him to customize a workout for me, taking into consideration a program to strengthen my core and reduce my back pain. Moreover, Nick's physical therapy training has also come in handy a few times. To help ameliorate my back pain we have used some sessions to focus only on stretches for my legs and lower back. Every time I workout with Nick I know it is time well spent, and I feel great (well, sore for the first couple days). I have my PhD in cell biology and yet regularly learn something new about my physiology from working with Nick. His knowledge of anatomy and physiology is impressive and benefits all of his clients. Before I started working out with Nick I was unsuccessfully dealing with double shoulder impingement, sciatic nerve pain, knee, wrist, and neck pain. Suffice it to say I was not in good shape. On my first session Nick pulled out his phone and showed me on his favorite anatomy app exactly the muscle imbalances that were causing my problems and immediately started a workout plan to fix them. During the injury repair phase, when something would start to hurt Nick would come up with new exercise routines on the fly so I could work around them. He's so good at what he does that he can just invent brand new exercises for you on demand. Fast forward 8 months later and with Nick's guidance and intense focus on my form, I've put on 15 lbs of muscle and fixed my injuries about 95%, as good as they'll probably ever get. I'm now in the best shape of my life and have a lot more energy. While training with Nick the most impressive thing I noticed is that when you're in session, he's 100% focused on you. He doesn't check his phone, he doesn't look around to see what else is going on in the gym. You are the only thing he cares about for an hour and it really shows. He is a genuinely nice, funny, and upbeat guy and I consider myself lucky to have found him. I pulled a lower back muscle while I was playing basketball at the gym. My back is practically immobilized by the injury and had hard time moving around and I couldn't bend forward. It was very painful and I though I may have a disc prolapse. Thank god Nick gave me 2 sessions and I felt i was walking 2 inches above the ground. My pain is literally gone in less than 48 hours after the injury and I can bend forward and resume my daily activities. If it wasn't for Nick, I would be lying in pain. I injured my right shoulder in December of 2018 and was sent to an Orthopedic Knee & Shoulder surgeon. Said surgeon came with many positive outcomes and boosted an impressive roster of sport celebrities. The MRI showed a "frozen shoulder". I was sent to physical therapy, but their program did not work for me and I was getting worse. Enter FitNick! We sat and talked about my situation for an hour and he showed me moving anatomy photos from his phone (in color no less) explaining my injurie in words I could understand. Furthermore, working with Nick meant I could go off the pain meds prescribed by the surgeon. I can honestly state that Nick cured my shoulder within the first five sessions. I was in physical therapy for six months to no avail. My range- of-motion is now back to normal and I now know how to work out moving forward without injuring myself hence I'm getting stronger every day. It is without hesitation that I would recommend to anyone looking to work out the right way.
