Even made a special request for batched pitchers of cocktails (as we had 15 guys partying) which was perfect / delish Had a group of advanced surfers on the "Trestles" session then a group of casual surfers on the "Malibu" and waves were fun -- plenty of push to pump then shwap a big section Had a cabana on the west beach area with a dedicated server Milan who was great and gave us quality service. We were there at 1:00 pm today to celebrate our 44th anniversary. We sat at a table facing the surfers, after 15 minutes we noticed a table that had come in after us had their menus and water. The table next to us said "Good luck getting service, they are awful". I finally asked an employee who was walking quickly by for menus. 10 minutes later she handed them to me and walked off. After 15 more minutes with no employee in sight, we gave up and walked to a nearby pizza place called Russo's where we were greeted at the door and received excellent service. We really enjoyed Revel Surf with my mom group taking 5 kids under the age of four. It was very fun and realistic for them as they have a wadding pool entering the surf pool. The super soft white sand was obviously a hit and there is plenty of shade near the water. We didn't surf, but we did enjoy the "beach" and then some great new places to eat nearby by however they do serve food and alcohol. read more

I definitely would not have a wave pool and have a cement floor without padding. Saw 2 people get hurt injust the 3 hours we were there, our daughter was one of them. I would also not have diving areas were you are able to jump or dive without the pool being clear from others that had just jumped. And $22. to rent a boogie board?!?! Thats just so wrong. We went for a friends birthday because we were very excited for the live music and food looked good online. They messed up the order and the waitress couldn't care less. Twice they didn't even know who or what was ordered for drinks. She was rude and nowhere to be found most of the evening. Closed kitchen 2 1/2 hours after opening. Sucks since you aren't supposed to bring food in and even if you have a wristband, you can't leave and come back. however. Life guard situation is terrifying in my opinion. Not enough of them and one of them completely left his post for a couple minutes with no other eyes in the jump area and then chatted with another guard for quite awhile while he was at his post. My boys had fun... it's water but we won't be back any time soon. We will spend our time and money at golf land sunsplash. Miss our Big Surf. I wanted to absolutely love it here, but there are many issues they need to handle. First of all, there's nothing on the website that says if you purchase the evening pass that there will not be waves? We could've just stayed at our pool then. Second, parking is in the dirt, which it also doesn't say. So don't come in a freshly washed car or convertible or for me, my slingshot. Third, it doesn't say that there's construction going on everywhere, so it doesn't look or feel ideal. Fourth, we contemplated just getting a cabana & we are so glad we didn't. $500 to park in the dirt, tons of construction around, no waves going on, no direct beach or water walk in access, & nothing comes with it? Way overpriced. And fifth, but not least, we ordered a round of drinks which were actually pretty good & each one was $14ea. We ordered a second round of the EXACT same drink & they were $18ea???? As a Hawaii resident, I was excited to see this open and couldn't wait to check it out. It's a nice facility but it is unfortunately not affordable for most to surf. The water is also freezing and requires a wet suit during the winter which is another cost to rent. The mom I sat next to spent $442.50 just on lessons for her family that day. She shared how she can't wait to keep coming for sessions and it just left some of us feeling sad that unless you have a lot of money it's not an activity that others can engage in frequently. It is $147.45 for a learn to surf with tax. It would be nice if they could make this place inclusive for everyone in the community, especially for those that don't have hundreds to drop to surf. A suggestion is maybe a military or teacher half off discount or maybe a few hours in the middle of the week at a discounted price if they have open slots. Really hoping to see some other price points in the future so more can fall in love with this sport. There is so much potential to make this place available and inclusive to all surfers in Phoenix! read more

Long day. People are crazy. No seats to lay out on the beach. Daphne's service was above exceptional! Upon meeting her she was dealing with a particular upset guest that was upset their water was room temperature. Daphne handled herself professionally with the guest. Ordered the slides/fry and tenders/fry combo. The two tenders weren't very crispy, and the portion felt a bit underwhelming. I get that entertainment venues tend to upcharge, but most at least make sure you leave feeling satisfied. If cutting back on protein is the plan, maybe balance it out with a more generous portion of fries. Actually, this is no big surf (if you remember that Scottsdale Beach adventure land back in the 1970s) it is a lot smaller than I anticipated, but it is a beach nonetheless. If you need to reach the beach and you don't want to drive 4 to 6 hours to spend a day on the sand in this place will work for you in the interim. Plus they have food drinks. You can order if you just wanna watch the surfers and the divers have a blast! read more

My husband took a beginner surf lesson here. He enjoyed it and the instructors seemed kind and knowledgeable. It was strange that they put slippery tile between the "beach" sand and sitting area. The owners must have huge pockets and not see the value of a sustainable pricing model. How do you really expect a family to spend 130 plus dollars on a one day visit. It's not sustainable....how many surfers are going to keep you in business ? You need to offer a 150 ish monthly pass for family members and make the money on food and other options. Hit Revel Surf park up today, really cool spot. The beach area is excellent super fine sand and tons of chairs. There is a jump lagoon that has 4 different platforms to jump from and honestly the highest is terrifying. I don't check out the surfing, but for sure want to come back and try a lesson. They have a restaurant and bar onsite and I will say the grilled Mahi tacos did NOT disappoint! Honestly really cool spot in Mesa. read more

I'm bummed to say, but Revel Surf turned out to be a pretty big "miss" for us. Here are the reasons why... 1. I read the website prior to coming, to see what the rules were for what to bring, or not to bring. It specifically said on their site that we could NOT bring outside floatation devices from home, ie: water wings, life vests, etc. We've been to places before that require you to use their life jackets instead, so that's what I figured. When we checked in and I asked about renting life vests for the kids, I was informed that they do not have any there, and there is no rule about bringing in your own. I literally showed her their website on my phone and asked why there was a disconnect from the site to the actual rules, so she grabbed a manager who acted very annoyed and just said, "you can go home and get them?" Which my husband ended up having to do. No apology, and honestly, weird vibes from the beginning. We should've just taken that as a sign and left. 2. The one rule from their site that they do actually stick to, is no outside food. I packed a small bag of crackers for my 2-year which I was told we couldn't bring in. Kinda wild to expect families to buy food from your restaurant all day and not be able to have snacks on hand for little kids... We did buy lunch there, but how unrealistic to not allow families to bring in a few snacks for toddlers? 3. Minimal shade. The place was empty so we scored chairs under some umbrellas. However, we were not able to adjust them to create shade throughout the day. All of us ended up extremely sunburned. Please find a better way to shade people, especially if you want them to stay around for the day. 4. The cliff diving. My 6 year old loved the cliff diving area. (That was actually one of the only things for him to do, besides swim in the water which didn't have any waves by the way?) anyway, he spent a couple hours jumping off the 1, 2 and 3 rocks and having a lot of fun. After lunch, he was told he couldn't jump off any but the 1st one because he was wearing a life vest. If that's the rule, fine, but it was disappointing for him to originally be allowed, and then told he couldn't. Seems like a disconnect between life guards and rules. And that's unsettling. 5. Expensive. And not worth it. We spent $100 to be here for the day. When you have community pools around the corner that cost 10% of that price, but offer so much more: slides, kids area, lazy river, more lifeguards, allow you to bring in food, cleaner, etc. there's a problem for me. The only "draw" was the sand? Which btw, had trash in it: I had to throw away old margarita cups and trash multiple times in the small area we hung out. I've been asked by several moms, "is it worth the price" and I have been quick to say, "no." Not at all. Which led me to write this review- I feel a duty to warn other families. There is a massive disconnect with staff here between rules and safety. We actually saw a man get severely hurt on the surf simulator the afternoon we were there and wheeled off in a stretcher. I feel really unsettled by the entire day and hugely disappointed. I really wish we would've spent that $100 on something else... anything else would've have been better! read more

We have been to Revel Surf a few of times now. The surfing is fun and the staff in the water, lifeguards and surf coaches, are friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar have a lot of room for improvement. Bartenders are generally nice and attentive. The drinks are okay and costs are a bit high for a watered down mixed drink. My spouse sat at a table to watch me surf and was told by a waitress she had to buy food to stay at the table. My wife asked for the manager and the waitress said, "Never mind" and ran off to the bar. This is ridiculous if you ask me and we have not been told this before. Note that we generally spend about $300 - $400 a week here to surf and drink. Why would they discourage people to watch and drink at their empty restaurant on a Friday they trying to run off paying customers? It would appear so and we will reconsider if we will return anytime soon. I agree with other reviewers that this place is expensive. You are buying the convenience of surfing close to home. My hope is these types of reviews wake up the managers and owners at Revel. They have great potential but need to embrace the community versus charging them to show up. Money runs out but faithfulness does not. I'm willing to pay for this level of surfing but this level of service. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but my experience with one of the bartenders left a bad impression. When I approached the bar, I wasn't sure which side to stand on -- it wasn't clear if she was taking orders or doing something else, so I simply mentioned that I had a tab open under my name. Instead of a quick "I'll be right with you" or some clarification, I was snapped at. It felt unnecessarily rude, especially since I was just trying to be polite and helpful. Later, when I moved to the order side to join my group, she gave me an odd look -- despite being much friendlier to the rest of my party. It made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. I understand everyone has rough days, but basic courtesy should still be part of the job -- especially in hospitality. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this one left me feeling unwelcome. read more

As of sit here at revel surf i believe the concept is an amazing one but the execution needs work. Like the " tile" around the pool is slippery. Seen 2 people slip. The liner in pool look a million years old . Ripped and missing pieces. The drinks are good. Surfing looks great. The cliff dives are awesome. Don't seem to be a lot of lifeguards. I see 2 in big pool " surf" two at diving spot. One at small surf area. And what looks to be blood on walkway "tile". . I could not stay all day here. And the night session is all surfing so you can not go past your knees in the pool. Like I said the concept amazing. Just hope stuff gets ironed out. read more

My young adult kids and I went there for the beginner's surf lesson. Mekenah and all the surf instructors are all amazing. I was able to surf the strong wave current. If they were able to teach a 50yr old like me how to surf in just one lesson, then if your kids are in their teen years and loves the water, I'm sure they'll learn to surf like a pro in no time with the Revel surf instructors. read more

Overpriced to get in and you can't use the wave pool as its only for surfers, only thing you can do is jump off the cliff jumps. 'Ligeguards' and I call them that lightly pay no attention to what's going on, some on their phones. Food is poor quality and way overpriced. I think the concept is cool but there wasn't much thought put into the actual building of the facility. It's expensive, there are no misters around unless you are at the restaurant. No place to swim or hang out in the water. Shade? What shade. It's like no one thought about Arizona summers when they built this place. There needs to be more seating and umbrellas. Went here yesterday excited for their new opening and was sadly not impressed. The flooring to the wave pool was already tattered, worn, dirty and had tears in it. It felt unsafe and grungy. Reviews from 3months ago are "somewhat" outdated. The bad first. Arriving and trying to check in was kind of a mess. They need to streamline their process because it caused longer lines than it should. Should be a rental center after you check in so people are out of the way to get surfboards, boogie boards and such. Better get there early to get a spot/chairs with some shade. Food was on the expensive side as you would expect and quality was not outstanding but it did feed us. This place caters to surfers so if you're looking for a cool place to play in the waves this ain't it. There is only a strip about 12' wide that you could play in the waves buts it's only 3' deep and in the very corner of the large pool. Now for little kids the "inside area" is not bad but lacks a lot for adults who don't surf in the big pool area. Water was cold but should heat up later this summer. The bottom of the wave pool is coming apart and scraped me several times, plus there are some spots with tiny spikes that poke your feet where the bottom is tore up. Staff was friendly. If you have money to spend you can spend a lot here with surfing but in the desert it is what it is. Our grandchildren 4 and 2 loved it and that was a great experience for them and that's the 4star. For adults who don't surf this ain't the place for you. read more

I was ready to wait with my 4 kids and a neighbor. After waiting for almost 2 hours, we were told they were no longer letting people in.
