My issue wasn't though with the facility, amenities, etc. My issue was with the customer service, the actual face to face customer service by these kids working there. The cashier that helped us, I wanted to ask "Why are you such in a sh@tty mood? Get your @ss home!" The other people basically same attitude, but I'm older and don't expect that generation to be any better.

Not only was everything in working order, but we were shocked to find several very rare games here! For example Jumping Jackpot, Chameleon Paradise, the Flintstone's coin push machine, a sit down version of Pirate's Hook. Icee's were good as was the soda. Didn't have actual food, but since the service was slightly slow, the lady gave us all these drinks for free which was super generous and fantastic! In the arcade there are multiple tables WITH CHAIRS where parents can actually sit down whilst their children play their hearts out. I have never seen actual chairs available throughout an arcade before, and we got to them all. Very refreshing! Now I know next time we can bring the grandparents. Ropes course looks super fun and is up above the arcade. If you want to bowl, they have about 20 lanes available. Prize selection is high quality and diverse. Far superior to Fat Cat's, Peter Piper, Chuck E. Cheese, etc. Again, if you have been avoiding this place due to the bad reviews, we encourage you to give it a chance. And that was quite an assumption. It was not thick, milky, and flavorless. Now usually add these places the food isn't the best so I wasn't looking for a five star pallet. We played it safe and got starters some wings and the burger, Philly steak and wing trio. Everything was cold over salted and mushy. It was terrible. Even my children couldn't eat it . And not only is it terrible it's not cheap. So crappy food crappy prices and mediocre service. I left their feeling ashamed and dirty. Plus their hand soap is about 3 feet up on the mirrors. If any kids are washing their hands, they're definitely not using soap because there's no way that they can reach it.

It was all clean and well spaced out. Directions were clear and it was really fun! Then we had our hearts set on winning a mini pop of Donald and Daisy. Then we met Jared. He was very welcoming and made us feel like winners! And yes, we got Donald and Daisy! Definitely would love to come back and do the other activities plus try the food.

What I hoped to be a happy memory for me ended up being one of frustration. My breakdown of the 2 stars - 1) my kids enjoyed their time here and 2) the customer service during the visit was good. The huge issue behind the low rating was being double charged and what I felt was the lack of urgency in getting it resolved. I ended up having to hound them for information as I was not getting the call backs that I requested. One of the managers that I spoke with did add me to his email to corporate for help in getting this resolved. After 7 days of making first contact, I finally received my refund of the erroneous double charge and wanted to leave my thoughts. When I'm out an extra $100+ that I did not authorize, I am going to hound until I get it back. This is not small change, not to me at least and I'm sure many folks, so the lack of urgency was irritating. I also feel like if I was not on top of this matter and pressuring corporate into acting, it would have taken a lot longer than 7 days for the refund. Please, CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT ASAP after visiting here. If I do return, everything will be paid for in cash since they have broken my trust in processing electronic payments correctly. One of the main attractions at Mavrix is bowling. Another is laser tag. I passed on both and checked out the arcade instead. It was time well spent because it's a pretty awesome arcade. I've been to the Bowlero in North Scottsdale and it's smaller than this one. Here, you have a bunch of fighting and driving games, interspersed with carnival-style games. I played 10 or so games total in about an hour. Wednesday is a great day to go because the games are 50% off. I didn't come away empty-handed either. With the tickets I won, I redeemed them in their prize room. It's a pretty large room too, with more prizes available than the North Scottsdale location. While I didn't have many tickets, I had enough for two pieces of candy and a T-Rex toy. Outside of what I mentioned, Mavrix has plenty of areas to sit, including a full bar. I haven't had food or drinks here, but I did take a look at the menu and it's a pretty extensive one. Definitely nicer overall than your typical bowling alley.
