We also had a tubular skylight installed 25 years ago and they showed us pictures of the deterioration around it. The original installer, Solatube, addressed our concerns quickly and installed new flashing. (Solatube is another great company) We are very pleased that we found VHB Roofing and feel relieved that we don't have to be concerned about our roof.

Now all of the neighbors know personal business. They even went to neighbors who have "No Soliciting" signs to advertise the roof to them... This is a clear invasion of privacy, when you already pay a business and they advertise the personal business and address to everyone else. It is no one's business! Very embarrassing practice! It says "Hey neighbors, I make enough money to replace my roof! Come to my house and see it!" Terrible. **Edit: This business "owner" is threatening me and has threatened to SUE ME! So after looking around we came across L&R Roofing. We needed an inspection fast and the actual repair done even faster because the Arizona monsoon was about to be in full swing and we were incredibly stressed. Right off the bat during the inspection, Luis was so honest and told us we absolutely did not need an entire new roof and warned us not to let anyone try to sell us one. Nowadays it is so hard to find companies that truly want to help you rather than just make make a sale, so that was such a huge relief and let us know right away that he wasn't going to BS us. He also went above and beyond during that walk-through. Our home inspector had told us we only had one slipped tile, but when Luis got up there, he found a handful of them and just pushed them all back into place for us. Slipped tiles can cause such major issues down the road, so it was incredibly nice of him to do that. It made me feel so good that he was looking out for our whole roof and not just the one spot we asked him to inspect--honestly, he seemed way more aware of what was going on up there than our actual home inspector was! Since the mold was over a bathroom, he gave us a fair price to remove a section of the underlayment and check all the vents in that area, and we were super happy with that plan. Luis unfortunately had a family emergency come up, but he still made sure to coordinate everything with Victor, who managed to get us on the schedule the very day a big storm was supposed to hit. Victor and his crew showed up at 6 AM and were just so nice to work with. He explained the exact damage to us and took pictures of every single step of the process so we could see everything they were doing. It was such a massive weight off our shoulders when he confirmed he found some water damage but it could easily replace the wood and seal it up right then and there. We are so incredibly thankful to everyone who helped us get this done so quickly and we will definitely be keeping them on speed dial for any future roof work!

Not recognizing a huge red flag when being asked for a large advance payment outside the contracted payment schedule before the work was completed. Not paying more attention at the showroom, which should have been a giveaway--basic design, broken cabinets, sloppy paint lines, and no real sense of quality or style. Not pivoting as different subcontractors rotated through, many barely showing up, some openly complaining about their employer, and when communication, planning, and attention to detail became nearly nonexistent. Not writing a review sooner when at the end there was no final walk through, thank you, or handshake, likely because my expensive remodel still needs a qualified contractor to fix. The photos don't lie, the quality is bad, but more importantly, so was the experience.

(Which we did consider as some of our friends did) We had a dedicated project manager named Dakota the whole way thru which was great for any questions for help or updates along the way instead of asking van for questions or calling customer service all of the time. I put some photos of some 3d renderings they showed me that I used as inspo for our casita. They will use your exact home and layout too so there are no mistakes with measuring colors or anything. I want to mention because this was important to me: you can tell they're true professionals not just hired from Facebook... they always wore matching shirts, never reeked of cigarettes or alcohol, and never left a huge mess behind. It's the little things like that that were super important to me. Not that all do but I do know it happens and it wasn't our experience Not gonna lie... it did take a bit longer than expected. Partly cuz I changed my mind on a few things mid-way (oops) and also we had a couple storms that slowed things down. But the team handled it all really well and kept us updated so nothing ever felt like a surprise. Me and my husband knew WAY ahead of time if things were going to be held up. During the design phase we met with Kathy their designer and got some 3D renderings which helped us picture it way better. The final plan had a full kitchen, laundry, bedroom, bathroom... all finished with high-end materials and serious attention to detail. Kathy knew what was in stock and was helpful if I wasn't sure which to choose but for the most part I chose what I wanted. The casita feels like it was always meant to be part of our home. This was more than just a custom home addition... it is a piece of our home that blends right into our house which feels amazing. My parents and guests love it and we couldn't ask for anything more. Every day they were on site they kept the work area clean and protected the walk ways they'd be using throughout the home. They always let us know when they'd be back next; they were always on time. I'd certainly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. I'm satisfied with the price we paid. We received several quotes and as anyone should tell you, cheaper is not always better. As my job was discussed and created, work items were listed and priced individually. When I added and removed items they displayed appropriately as a refund credit or additional charge immediately. The time frame proposed in the beginning was a guess-estimate I understand because one has to dig into a project to truly see what it will take. But no, my rooms were not completed in a timely manner. Schedules were pushed out, but I will state that there were a few times I was contacted and offered someone to come over to complete a trade earlier than scheduled. I made sure to have most of the needed materials already at my home so there would be no time issues when on site. (I purchased some items independently). Honestly, the time sucked. The various tradesmen were polite and knowledgeable. The men prepped my home's entryway and paths to each workroom protecting all surfaces. I had no debris left or scuffed flooring. They showed up, completed their job and left my home clean. Holtzman's web portal was easy for me to access and use. All details about my project were available to be viewed at any time. I communicated with customer service, my appointed designer, and my supervisor through emails, phone calls, in person and texts. The sales rep was very difficult to reach once my project contract was signed, but my supervisor, Will Stubblefield, supported me through every question I had throughout the whole process. His time and work was genuine and appreciated. He made sure that each phase of the project was completed to my satisfaction and when the schedule was ridiculously pushed back, he stepped in on a couple weekends and completed some work himself. Will responded to each of my questions patiently as I had many being this my first project. If I have more projects, I will request Will to manage it. He secured my confidence that Holtzman Home Improvement would complete the job and have it done well.

The Holtzman salesperson will tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign, and then (eventually) when the project starts, you'll hear something different from the project manager. When our project started, one of the first things we heard from the project manager was "I'm sorry, but he (the salesperson) shouldn't have told you that." Communication from the company was very poor. The project manager did not reach out with any proactive updates, instead I had to call / text regularly to find out what was happening and when. The usual response to my questions was "I don't know, I'll have to get back to you." They have an online schedule portal, but it was not updated by the project managers (we had 4 different project managers throughout the project), so the portal was practically useless. There were many delays and missed dates from Holtzman, there were surprise up-charges and items they forgot to order (causing more delays), but the real difficult part was the lack of communication. Not knowing what's going on is really unsettling when you've trusted someone with this type of project. The kitchen came out looking great. The people that come to the house to do the work are nice and friendly, and generally do good work. But the communication and lack of accountability from the company is embarrassing. If my name were on this company, I would take more pride in the work and try to improve how they treat customers. I would strongly advise anyone to go with another company and save yourself months of delays and many headaches from dealing with Holtzman.
